Trust Issues: CONFIDANTS! | Dr. Hart Ramsey

i want to i want to talk to you i want to talk to you today about trusting people with your stuff most of the trust issues that you have in your life are the result of you trusting the wrong people and you trusted the wrong people because no one taught you that they're different levels of people that you can trust with your stuff i'm bringing to you today not a word of of entertainment but a word of education this is the spirit of the lord needs a people that are enlightened to what he's doing and who he is to impact the city as we go out and do our part in the body of christ in atlanta what you're going to find is the people that god is going to send us to will have questions someone asked me to say pastor dr ramsey why are you at all nations atlanta a lot of my friends asked me that and i told them i believe that in this season of your existence the lord has to has to catch you up knowledge wise to what you have in the spirit by gifting now when god gives you gifts he's entrusted you with something know this for sure that when god entrusts you with gifts it invites attack the apostle paul said that he said i was entrusted with this gift as a matter of fact he was telling his son timothy i'm in jail because i've been entrusted with the gospel and whatever you're entrusted with whatever your gifting is it's going to attract attack it's going to attract stress and struggle that comes as a part of the package the the problem is is that you're under attack you have this gifting you're stirring you're using you're touching lives but you don't understand what you're doing the reason i'm here is to bring understanding to what you're probably already walking in what god is already speaking to you how many how many people understand that so there are questions that you've been praying about and god has set myself the leadership team in the as the church builds you're going to hear a lot of people a voice is going to come forth bringing answers bringing instruction bringing clarity bringing organization we're going to be a massive army uh moving forth in the lord um probably a different identity than than probably all nation chicago all nations memphis but we're going to have our own identity and out of that is going to come a knowledgeable a knowledgeable people who have the spirit of god who knows the power of god and who love one another you got it the reason that you don't trust people is because you don't understand what the bible says about trust so in psalm 118 verse 8 the psalmist writes it is better to trust the lord or to trust in the lord than to put confidence in man it he goes on to say in the next verse verse 9 it is better to trust in the lord than to put confidence in princes i want to begin here and explain and begin teaching from this verse when you read this scripture it seems to indicate that he that the psalmist is repeating himself but he's not he's shown you a difference between the common man and what princes in scripture are not sons of kings so to speak with their leaders they're prominent people when you see the word princes in the old testament it's speaking to people who have a measure of identification you know who they are they have fame they have status he said it is better to trust in the lord than to put confidence the word confide in man the word confide is a word it will come up over and over again as i teach this lesson you and i have been hurt at times because we treated confidence in people as something that was arbitrary in other words we you you're the kind of person that will walk up to a complete stranger and just start giving him your stuff just start talking to them about stuff that that you shouldn't even be talking to friends about and what we do is we will friend people or befriend people you got it because they are friendly but there's a difference between friendly and friendship understand this now so because a person is friendly to you you think that you're in a friendship with them and you begin confiding in them this word i'm going to define it more and more so it is better now the bible says to confide or to confide in the lord of the trust in the lord and to confide in man even to confide in leaders it's better to trust the lord and to confide in leaders now here's the definition of the word confident why it's super important it means to tell your secrets or private matters to the word confide means i'm telling you my secrets i'm i'm telling you my private matters i'm telling you i've been where i am i tell you my struggle i tell you what i think what i feel and sometimes people aren't ready for what you have when you take someone into your confidence you make them a confidant understand this now no one walks into your life and introducing themselves introduces themselves as your confidant confidants are created by your trust confidants are created by your trust in other words they don't become a confidant until you give them your stuff the danger with that is if you give them your stuff and they're not ready for stuff or they have too much of their own stuff or they have a track record of repeating stuff your stuff is not your stuff anymore now here's the thing so let me define this again i want to define this a confidant is a person with whom one shares secrets or private matters trusting them not to repeat them to others from playground and grade school we have been telling secrets to people and having our hearts broken by our secrets coming back to us by people other than the ones we told you think it has not been affecting you but over the years what it has done is it has eroded your ability to trust people and believe it or not when your trust begins to be or deteriorated it actually affects your trust for god as well here's the rule if i don't get to later in the text you need to know this in order for you to learn to properly trust you have to begin by trusting god first if you don't trust god with your stuff first and you trust people with your stuff a hundred percent of the time god will make sure that they violate your trust it's the lesson you're going to learn you see pastor why is that because look watch this now the bible says there's a scripture that says trust in the lord with with what if i'm trusting with all what's left nothing that means even in my relationship at russia's my wife will tell you she doesn't trust me she trusts the lord concerning me i trust the lord concerning her i trust the lord concerning all my relationships i give my relationship to the lord as a matter of fact i say to you today that you need to practice giving your heart to god and letting god give your heart to him whomever he wants to have it no no i know you're listening but you're gonna respond i need you to put something in the air cause you got mask on i can't see your face i know you're probably smiling or whatever you got i gotta hear you say something okay you need to practice giving your heart to god first then allow the lord to assign your heart to whomever he wants to have it watch this now if you walk a person said to me this i'm leaving my church because i sat there for three years and they never even saw me do you know that god could set you in a place hide you away in plain sight because you're not there watches now you're not there to pour out you're there to be poured into and many times you'll be right sitting smack that you position yourself where the preacher always watches where you always looks and no one sees you what god is hiding you away why because god is trying to teach you some things your next assignment may be to just listen [Applause] there's a season of my life where all i did was listen i listened to great men um speak scripture and converse about what they thought the scripture meant i was a student in the room didn't know i was a student i thought i was just serving when god called upon me to go to germany and pastor my first church things were coming out of me that i didn't know were in there because watch this i picked them up just being in the room [Music] these men trusted me what was with confidence they con literally were confident in me indirectly god put me in this room and i'm listening to what's being said and it's filling my heart and next thing you know it's coming out the danger of confiding your stuff with people if it is is a person does not know how to control themselves your stuff would just come out without them even knowing it is watch this confidants aren't forced on us we choose them we create them we entrust them with our stuff and once they have our stuff they can do whatever they want to with it everyone has secrets everyone has secrets even god the bible says in psalm 24 14 the secret of the lord is with them that fear him and he will show them his covenant god has secrets and god picks and chooses who he will share his secrets with the bible says he will only share secrets of the people that fear him the people that respect him the people that see him as god the people that honor him there's another place in scripture where it talks about god only shares our uh his secrets with the uprights the people that he considered to be are in right standing with him he'll tell you the secrets of his covenant other people he just let them wander if god if the sovereign of the universe who has nothing to fear chooses and picks who he shares a secret with then why are you sharing your secrets with everyone the hebrew word for secret is the word sword s-o-d and it was interesting about it it means intimate conversation we misunderstand the word intimacy because when we hear intimacy we think body but intimacy has nothing initially to do with the body you can give your body to someone and not be intimate with them intimacy is a soul word it's a it's an internal word not an external word and when watches and that's why a lot of marriages are struggling because they're having sex but they're not intimate if if we if we're swapping uh or if we're giving each other our bodies but we're not talking we're not sharing we're not revealing that's not intimacy and so the bible teaches us from this word secret the word sword that to be it to be or takes someone into your confidence it means that you have intimate conversation with them god has secrets that he doesn't share with everyone and if he does watch this if he doesn't reveal his secrets with everyone what makes you think that he'll reveal your secrets does the person ever come to you and say the lord told me so-and-so about you how many of you ever got one of the words the lord told me so i'm gonna share this with you i want you to think about this if god protects his secrets why would he reveal yours and if god watches that if god will tell your secrets to strangers then what is this thing in the scripture about tailbearers how can god judge tailbearers when he's telling when he's tailbearing himself the only reason i can teach a word like this is because i'm in a prophetic house and sometimes we have to be careful when people come up to us and tell us they're telling us secrets about ourselves and we think that because they know something about us it must be god it's not always god there is a thing called a familiar spirit [Applause] y'all gonna talk back to me because i'm not gonna shut up i see you you're right here so you will talk to me how many times have you been hurt confirming words or exchanging information based on a person giving you a bit of information i sat in a service i'll never forget this i was in washington dc and i watched this prophet move and the spirit of god told me do not take him into your trust didn't know why he's moving he was flowing the house was packed he was spitting out addresses and phone numbers he told one lady your house is arranged so and so and there's a red sofa when you walk in the door she fell out on the floor and i'm and i stand i'm standing and the spirit of god said do not take him into your trust he kept walking by me but he wouldn't stop and finally he turns to me says every time i walk by you'll see land i just watch myself i need to talk to you the more he continues in his demonstration the spirit of god says that is not my spirit and i was thrown but he knew all these things about all these people and you should have seen the house of god in an uproar because this guy knew secrets familiar spirits tell secrets can i tell you something about false a false prophet a false prophet is not called a false prophet because his prophecies are false if the prophecies were false you would know the person was a false prophet what makes them a false prophet is their relationship with god that's lacking it's who what makes them a false prophet is that they're not living anything of what the lord commands us to live what pseudo prophetess happens with russia before i open my mouth i'm designated a false prophet or a real one pseudo-professor that's the word that's the term pseudo prophet of prophetess and what it means is it's a person who in of in of themselves they fake through what they say may be real but they're different spirits that govern the spiritual realm and you got to be careful not to buy into this because there's a lot of hurting believers around because they submitted themselves to false spirits because they knew your secrets when the when paul was going to i think he was in philippi macedonia he's headed to prayer and this woman is following said i know who you are and everything she said about paul silas was right they were men sent from god to show the right way but the bible says every day she would do it and she would grieve paul's spirit and finally he turned to her and he called out the spirit and made watches he caused that false spirit to come out of her a false spirit with the right information a false spirit that knows your secrets i want to develop this because i think there's some there's some information that i'm going to share with you and i know you've heard preaching how many of you heard a lot of preaching in your life you've got enough preaching to last the rest of your life this is i'm going to teach you some stuff the goal of the lord the goal of the lord is a maturing church that's the goal of the lord now get this now the reason the lord is speaking this to us is because we're coming into a place where everything he gives to us is valuable it's valuable you want to learn to hear your ears going to be fine-tuned to hear the lord and he will say speak to this one and say that and he when the lord gives you a personal secret you will say things like this you walk up to them and say i know i shouldn't know this but i need you for a moment to ask the lord to confirm who i am before i speak this word i wait yes i'll wait then you ask them are you i do you have a sense that i'm coming to you from the lord and personally yes he said here's the word of the lord and when you give them the word of the lord you tell them why the reason i'm saying this to you is because and you give them and now they walk away and they're all the wiser and now they're ready for whatever the enemy was planning to do prophetic gifts are not to demonstrate that you know stuff the prophetic gift is to demonstrate to god's people that he's real that he knows who they are that he sees them it's time for us listen it's time out for us using our gifts to brand ourselves [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so so let me let me about in proverbs 3 32 listen to this it says for the fruit is an abomination to the lord but his secret is with the righteous every here's what i want you to get as we deal with confidance because that's what we i want us to hover in this realm i'm going between spiritual things and natural relational things get this you need to understand why you're running your mouth that every confidant has a confidant [Applause] i'm not saying that that everyone will discreetly reveal your business or your private matters everything that's entrusted to them they may not spit it all out but i'm saying to you that you must consider who you need who you share your information with because watch this now you needing to offload information is not unique to you you needing to share your heart you need to reveal it's not unique to you and before i made the commitment to become trustworthy let me tell you i'm going to tell you here's a diary of a pastor that's been in ministry for years what i used to do i would i'm very confidential but what i used to do is when someone would come to me and share their business i would counsel with them i had a certain group of elders that i was sick with to unpack what i was told what i didn't know was everyone in my circle dre was not confidential and so what would happen is i sit in in my inner chamber with my leaders and share with them hey this was brought to me by sister so this situation brought me this is a council i gave what say ye and they would give me their feedback and tell me what they think but there was a particular gentleman in the circle what he his here's the wickedness of it he would hear the story that was told he would seek out the person with the information that was given to me in confidence [Music] and this was my board of advisors so to speak and he would go prey upon the people based on the weakness revealed in the council let me tell you something you got to be careful even the well-meaning people to take your stuff and make you a victim with yours now so i want to give you some practical how many how many you want to hear the rest of this some practical information okay here it is your need to confide in others listen to this is usually the result of an inability to deal with the complaints and other weighty matters in your heart listen to this your heart is a storage place and if you don't manage your heart if you don't guide your heart if you don't gauge your heart if you don't guard your heart what happens is your heart can become so full that you don't even know you're leaking bleeding or spewing now i want to i want to explain something to you jesus said from the abundant of the heart the mouth speaks now the word abundant using this context is a word that speaks to it paints a picture here's a picture mark it says that your heart is really the overflow valve of your heart it's an overflow valve in other words if your heart is full of something your mouth is going to leak it out and here's why because god designed you where your heart he has you have to have some control over your heart because the heart is the center of you it is the main part of you paul called your heart the inner man it's who you are it's who you really are i had a friend an architect he used to say when we get to heaven god's going to snatch our hearts out of us and throw the rest of us away he he he gave me that picture to teach me that there's nothing as important as my heart now i want to give you this it is critical that as you learn how you built your constitution your complexities that you begin to make adjustments and today i want to begin by what's in your heart so what's happening on the inside of you is you have a complaint i want to deal with the complaint first you have a complaint in your heart your need to confide in others is usually the result of an inability to deal with the complaints and other weighty matters in your heart the complaints everybody say complaints so what a complaint is is a verbalized dissatisfaction or verbalized soul pain i'm speaking my dissatisfaction i'm verbalizing the pain of my soul and watch this this is gonna help you but by the time a complaint comes out of my mouth it alerts me that there's a grudge living in my heart understand this the mouth will never complain unless the heart bears a grudge the mouth will never complain unless the heart bears a grudge a grudge is a grievance it's a dissatisfaction it's this it's a displeasure that's living in you please follow this as long as that grudge remains in your heart your mouth will complain even if you say i i promise you lord i'ma stop complaining you can't stop complaining if it's a grudge in your heart and so every well said not every many husbands or wives have a confidant that they talk about their marriage with because they don't settle the grievances in the marriage [Music] and they're people speaking ill of their church of their pastor of the leader of their members of the because they have not settled the grudge in their hearts because we don't listen no one is teaching us how to settle grudges so confiding is something we do when we exceed the capacity of our souls to contain the vow the valuable disheartening or weighty information so here's how it happens so so when i get to a certain place where my capacity is is met and now it's exceeded automatically i find myself i hear myself saying well that's what you all think let me tell you what i found when the enemy is intent on contaminating a culture when the enemy is intent on bringing toxicity to a community what he does is he will get your heart so full of grudges that it will leak out of your mouth and he will make sure that what comes out of your mouth makes it back to the person that you're talking about why would he do that because his aim is destruction his aim is disruption his aim is division and we will never trust each other if we're talking bad about one another so you've heard me say this before my wife and i we have an agreement our agreement is this it's called single-facedness single and here's simply this whatever we think about a person whatever we think about a situation we're going to reveal it so when we speak in our home and the lord hears us the lord will not hold us guilty for being duplicitous double-tongued two-faced you got it we make sure if we say we love you now when we get behind closed as we talk about spiritual development and things that might pertain to you we may speak of the areas you need to come up but our thing is it's based in the fact that we love you and it's not to tear you down so you don't have to sense anything on us when we come around you because we love you you got it but we had to decide that it's a choice that we made it's not something that just happens to you you will you do not become trustworthy by accident y'all follow me is this true is this too deep is it too academic get this now so here's here's the scripture in job 7 verse 11 where job is is um he's actually venting and here's what he says therefore i will not refrain my mouth he said i will speak in the anguish of my spirit i will complain in the business of my soul job just gives a whole revelation on what happens to us that's what he said i will not refrain or restrain my mouth i won't hold my tongue why he says i will speak in the anguish of my spirit there's no way that you are speaking ill or or venting out what is not and your spirit is whole do you know although your spirit is born again the bible says that you could suffer from filthiness of spirit listen to what i just said the bible says although your spirit is born again the only part of you that's really saved is your spirit your soul is being saved and patience possesses your soul your soul is gradually being sanctified your body also be saved or glorified when we see jesus but give this your spirit although you're safe can become filthy why because you have so much contamination from stuff that you don't know how to smoke what would happen in your house if there was no disposal system [Music] yet the lord calls you a temple so what happens when the temple of the lord has no disposal system you know how to get rid of your stuff well if it stays in your heart here's what happens it comes out of your mouth and it comes out of your mouth but the problem is the bible says that people could just listen to me speak and tell what kind of tree i [Applause] am so could it be that this good tree that the lord has planted i'm talking about you has somehow allowed yourself to become contaminated because you don't know how your disposal system is supposed to work so let me help you with this it is possible or impossible rather to fix a complaining amount without first repairing a grudging heart the work must be done from the inside out everyone say the work must be done from the inside out as long as as long as there's a grudge there's going to be there's going to be a complaint that satisfaction is going to live complaining is the only way that a grudging or discontented heart can re relieve itself and so when you hear yourself complain your heart is trying to get the garbage out your heart is trying to get the garbage out and what happens in a church as we're trying to grow together and build culture and listen i'm telling you we're in a critical time when a critical time of our church here's why because satan would prefer to stop a train before it gets moving because once a train builds up ahead of steam it's harder to stop you have to commit that the enemy is not going to stop what god wants to do in all nations laughter through you i'm not concerned about where we meet right now i'm not concerned about how we look to others i'm not even concerned about those who thought that who wrote our obituary yes sir and got mad because we didn't die i'm not i'm not i'm not concerned what i am concerned about though are the self-inflicted wounds that happen within the house because we don't know how to take the trash out now get this so so i want i want to give you four things that you need to know actually three about your complaint number one your complaint is a manifestation of your misery your complaint is a manifestation of your misery number two it's a declaration that you hate the hand that you've been dealt i'm gonna repeat this in a minute number three it is clear indication that you're not trusting god to rectify your situation how many you need to hear those again let me give you these three again number one your complaint is a manifestation of your misery saint of god why are you miserable do you notice it is virtually impossible to do ministry and be miserable at the same time a miserable christian can't be a minister in christian too and so what happens to us is we bring people into our gifting and into our spiritual strength and when they get the closer they get the more they see how miserable we are and then we want to spiritualize our misery as if it's a gift of the spirit [Applause] if you oh if you're always discontent and this is wrong and that is wrong and we need this and we need that and and that's not the right person that's not the right person if you always see things wrong you listen to me you're not a problem solver you're a troublemaker [Music] [Applause] number two complaint is a declaration that you hate the hand you've been dealt do you know that the lord uses affliction pressurized situations to mature you the lord uses affliction he uses pressurized situations to mature you you don't learn to be powerful in comfort zones my compassion for the homeless came from the fact that i was homeless here's this someone said to me they said to me uh oh you know you're just too too proper someone told me i'm too proper they said just say you seem so laced up and everything with you is about words and everything i said here's what they don't know about me i used to tremble before my 11th grade english class to give an oral book report and i flunked out of 11th grade english got expelled from high school and and did not get my i never walked across a high school platform i tested out a ged i had to study the first thing for some of you when you got the holy spirit the first thing you did was dance your first your first assignment was go to church and shout every service my first assignment the first specific instruction the holy spirit gave me after i spoke in tongues let's go take your ged and so i encountered while people people watch me even during the prayer revival people look at me he won't even dare i don't dance let me ask you a question is dancing a prerequisite to be your pastor i'm asking your question it's dance singapore because my wife could dance with both of us i mean she can and she will just listen she won't care nothing you think she's sitting there pretty she is pretty ramsey but understand this [Applause] listen to me and i love her too my question to you is my question to you is is it a prerequisite to you that i dance what about will you perform me dancing or knowing what i'm talking about come on here come on here the first see the problem with most of us oh how did i get here the problem with a lot of us is that the holy spirit told you dance and you needed to dance you need to get it off but for me i was bound by ignorance and the holy spirit said go take that ged i want to show you something when i took that test and knew the stuff i i didn't know in high school but i knew it now how how the lord was trying to show me that he's more than a dance he was more than tongues i was a part of a pentecostal church so when i get up here and start doing this you have to understand i'm under the hand of the methodical hand of god where god is laying stuff out for you to learn who you are and to learn where you're going because god has something more for you to do than dance [Applause] now with that being said when we go into praise i need the dancers dancing the jumpers jumpers the jumping the runners running the clappers clapping i need you doing what god gave you to do but for us for me i gotta keep my and watch it i behold the order of the house i'm the watcher if you ever see me dance everybody gonna dance and say something to this right now if you ever see me run come with me because i i tend to run every every now and then i don't know how i got there [Applause] so watch this so your complaint is a manifestation of misery it's a declaration that you hate the hand that you've been dealt do you know that god does not deal everyone the same hand [Applause] and sometimes he will assign you to struggle until you learn how to trust he will assign you to struggle until you learn how to trust and i've been there things he could have easily just taken away he made me struggle if you if you smoke cigarettes i'm gonna tell you something that it was the last thing i had to deal with i gave up everything god took everything it seemed like for me but i was bound to those cigarettes and i'm gonna tell you something i i i said lord just take it he's trying to teach me a lesson and the lesson i learned in putting cigarettes down was a powerful lesson that i still use today god will assign you to struggle until you learn now number three your complaint is a clear indication that you're not trusting god to rectify your situation so let me let me help you out with this if you're complaining about a person that means you're not praying about them if you complain about a situation when god shows you something wrong that means he has chosen you as the intercessor the pro the problem with many intercessors is that you talk too much [Applause] watch this now you you sh you have so much when god shows you things that's wrong he's giving you kindling for the fire for the innocent your intercessory fire got all this wood and when god shows you all these things they're wrong you shut yourself away you put all that wood on the fire and watch it burn you watch it burn every time people run into you say man there's something about you what they don't know is you take all your stuff and put it before god now get this prayer was designed among other things for the purpose of capacity management say those will say capacity management say that i say capacity management what is capacity management is me managing my capacity there are people in my life i would call i had a elder we came out of the same house and i called him i was frustrated with the brother and i called myself i said you know that brother this brother did that and my phone wasn't speaking my wife was in the room and she heard this brother rebuked me i mean straight up rebuked me with words i deposited in him and he rebuked me listen to this you're ready for this it was necessary he had to check me because his thing was wait a minute are we are we we're gonna talk about this brother he asked me a very interesting question so you're saying to me because he wronged you you want me to stop dealing with him is that what you're asking me to do well nah i'm not saying i'm just saying i want to be considerate of what he's checking me considerate of what that you're not managing your pain properly [Music] the question becomes why is it my problem that you're not doing the right thing that you know to do so i get off the phone with him and i turn to my wife my wife was like feeling some kind of way because he about just jacked me up and i told my wife it's cool we because he has called me and told me the lord said i said that's not god that's you that you need this kind of accountability in your life to make sure it's not that your spirit remains pure if if you got friends in your circle you've never been mad with them they're not real friends [Applause] watch this now here's what the bible says so the bible teaches us that god gave us everybody said god gave us prayer to manage our capacity here's the scripture in first peter chapter 5 verse 6. it says this humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of god that he may exalt you in due time casting your care upon him for he cared for you listen to this listen to this casting your care upon him if you if you read first peter chapter five verse seven the two words care he cares for you and casting you care not the same words how many of you knew they weren't not the same words the king james is notorious for confusing us with translations let me help you out so so when the bible says cast your care unto the lord that word is word marimna and it simply means distractions anxieties worries things that divide you or pull you apart the bible says once it becomes a distraction once it becomes a concern once it becomes something that troubles you and it begins to build up in your heart the bible says that belongs to god what's the last thing i just did the bible says what the best of that say that a lot the bible says what that here's the problem that we're having with grudges in our hearts is that when something goes wrong we ho and we hold things against people and we hold things against situations we hold things against our job our church whatever it begins to build and the lord reminds you that belongs to me we will build relationship with that struggle bring it to me and god watches now you grow spiritually when you engage god with something that you absolutely detest something has you totally distracted has you cut off and you're talking you're checking with everyone that got to know that belongs to me you can't and here's what it says casting your care upon him for he cares for you this next word is word mello m-e-l-o and with milo melo milo here's what it means it means that he has a deep concern and he has great interest in what you're going through so watch this the god who made you the god who is building you and growing you has deep concern about you so he allows you to walk through valleys and struggles and there's a word in when david said that the lord has brought me out into a large place enlarged my steps you know he's speaking of being so restricted and constricted he had to turn sideways to get through his process and he kept watching he engages the lord and he's talking to the lord while he's walking sideways because he can't it's too narrow and he's walking through accident lord is compressing me what are we doing god this is and the lord is like i need you to give me what you give me your stuff here so i could i could open space for you and the more i hold on to my stuff the more it constricts and that finally i can't move because i'm now i cry out to the lord what does god do he enlarges my steps he opens up the tears watch this many of us right now have allowed our hearts to become so soiled soiled psalm 52 22 from the passion translation here's what it says so here's what i've learned through it all it's the psalmist he said leave all your cares and anxiety at the feet of the lord and bless us and measureless grace will strengthen you you know when i come into a house where the people of god are gathered and we come in this we have our spiritual selves and then we have the real selves one of the lessons i learned about teaching grace and just studying graceful over two decades is that god is not interested in the spiritual you no he wants the you that you actually are in private he just does he doesn't want the cleaned up version of you when you worship she wants all of you he wants the jacked up messed up confused uh i can't get over what they did to me you here's why because only when that you begins to worship only when that you begin to talk to god about what you're going through can you transform you can't transform trying to hand god a sterilized version of yourself so i'm gonna leave some matter of fact psalm 62 verse 8 says this trust in him at all times all people pour out your hearts to him the lord is your refuge i want i'm gonna end up with this i got about maybe five minutes left so i want to talk to you just quickly about about how you can fight i thought for those of you watching my stream i promise you i will show you the difference between a vault and a vending machine because it's not only enough to teach you about how grudges and complaints work but i have to teach you about how to be a confidante because pretty softly because many people don't know what it is to be a confidant the first thing you need to know is by the time a person comes to you to say to you my heart is heavy most of us hear my heart i always hear heavy that means what they're about to share with me has weight to it and i have to be careful that what they share i can handle so i want to i want to break down for you real quickly the difference between a vault and a vending machine matter of fact there are two types of of all of people when it comes to confidential information you you are right now either a vault or a vending machine most vaults are located in banks it's a foregone conclusion that the whole idea of the vault is security safety it's it's so understood that the vault is a place of safety that they call the vault a safe why do you think they call it a safe question to you do you the people who confide in you can they call you a safe think about this when people come to you and say you don't know what i just did i feel so horrible are they putting their valuables in a safe they are what about when the relationship breaks what about when they betray you what about when they put your stuff out there is their stuff safe with you although your stuff is not safe for them what you have to understand is that the god of heaven watches you as you handle other people's stuff now i want to read down this list real quickly i made a list for you so here's it here it is everything about a vault is wired for safety for security and for standards everything about a vault okay there's there's an accountability piece that's in there when it deals with vaults it deals with non-disclosure it wants a non-disclosure okay so vaults usually have a secure combination so that in order to retrieve even your own information i got three uh vaults in my house one for my guns i do have an arsenal of my house yes i do i got all kinds okay i'm ex-military so i have a vault for my guns i have a safe box and this box is if a fire breaks out if something happens we have a bar we stash this we grab this box and we're gone every one of them are secured you got it everywhere i do business that has my name on it has a safe with a combination here's the thing there's some combinations i don't know for my own security to keep me safe i don't know this the combination for that safe i have to call a person and say go into the safe and get something for me that's why do you do that for for security reasons when you are being confided in when you have been made a confidant it is important that you hold people's stuff what people bring to use especially when they don't know what to do with it and they bring it to you you have been entrusted by god to hold their stuff and they're trusting that after they they give you and divulge their stuff you won't see them any differently you won't treat them any differently you won't share you won't mock you won't listen they're trusting you to be bigger than they are in the moment the litmus test for those who will do ministry with me here as leaders can you be trusted i don't care are you gifted a lot of gifted folk around here and i refuse to be held hostage by gifts [Applause] i refuse to be held hostage by anybody's gift they've got 7 billion people in the world more okay and if we need a gift we're gonna find a gift but if i can't trust you [Music] i need you to trust me here's what you need to know about me is that with all of my heart i'ma seek to do right by you i can't be who i'm not but i will be who i am i need you to trust me to be who i am if i get up here and try to pretend to be something else no no no i am a pr i'm a prophetic teacher i i i literally flow in revelation from the scripture my prophecy flows from understanding of scripture i know things about you by knowing things about god [Applause] here's what you need to know about me if you walk by i sense hearts i don't have to know the details but god i'm listen over the years i know hearts and if i bring you close to me it means i trust your heart it doesn't mean that i think you're perfect i know you're not i know you're not perfect i don't expect you to be perfect i expect you to be you i'm trusting your heart and for god's sake when i release you on god's people solomon pratin said teach me how to come in and have to go out from before your people here's what he says for who is able to stand before so great a people we flipped it around the church is saying we're going to hear great man that's not the order of god the order is who am i to stand before so great a people as the lord's people who he pulled out of the fire and filled with his spirit oh watch this i'm almost done so the key i got to say this if the people you are trusting are not vaults and you insist on weighing them down with your stuff you are in essence empowering them to betray you they will betray your confidence they will you know why they don't have capacity the key to building trust is to accept people where they are for who they are at the stage of life they're in it's selfish to try to make them who they who you need them to be in the moment then blame them for letting you down you you took a person that was barely hanging on to their own life and you made them a confidant remember confidants were made you made them a confidant you gave them information they couldn't handle and then when they turned around and did exactly what they should do with stuff they can handle is to give it to somebody else then you're mad in this church we don't require you to throw your friends away in this church we don't require you to throw your the people you build relationship with you can manage you grow but we do require you to walk with god in such a way where when people deposit things with you they're safe i want to tell you the difference between a vault and a vending machine and this what you missed this is that vending machines are designed to dispense items of value for the right amount of coinage in other words watch this vending machines are only designed for profit when you see a vending machine it didn't put itself there someone put it there for profit he said i have nothing again yes you do let me tell you what people do people will take your stuff and sell it for acceptance they will set they will trade your information for favor yep they will sell your stuff to the the biggest tabloid they can for quick payday and some people would literally benefit from your stuff just for the joy of watching you hurt there's some demonized people in the world if you are going to be the kind of person that we're going to be the kind of church that god could trust [Music] then we have to take confidence very seriously now wait a minute you said pastor what you so what about the places where where people say oh don't tell what happens in this house in this house first of all i don't like that jesus had never taught that matter of fact what happened in this house needs to be in the whole community if if the order of last night the order is what happens in this house goes to the community then we'll be more careful about what happens in this house [Applause] how many of you heard from god today paul said this and i'm it's my last scripture he says for the which cause i i suffer also these things he was talking to timothy he was in prison and he said nevertheless i'm not ashamed here's what he said for i know whom i believed i'm persuaded that he's able to keep that which i have entrusted to him if that's not your testimony if you don't know you could they could keep what you in them do not entrust it father i pray for every person in this house i pray that that something pulled on their hearts there's a different thing happening here and what's happening is that we're being aligned with revelation you align us with revelation and the things that we're learning concerning you we're growing we're growing we've sensed ourselves pushing through lord the parts of life that we came through that were difficult now i ask you in jesus name to cause this congregational god to become a family begin to pull us together oh god help us to laugh together and to weep together help us to grow strong together i speak over every person in this house today who say my my heart was broken i i wept all the way through maybe a high school or college or whatever because of what people said and how people treated me and how i was so let down and violated and betrayed heal those god who are violated at the point of trust [Music] in jesus name has about eyes are closed quickly hands of god i want to see something real fast how many you can say pastor you know what i'm one of those people i i trusted the wrong people by show off hands i trusted put your hand i want to see him i trusted the wrong people and my heart got broken my heart put your hand up now yeah yeah right yeah yes that's yes father do your work father do your work i trusted the wrong people and i had to get away have to change locations had to change your dresses go to i trusted the wrong people and it gave me a reputation i trusted the wrong people and even to this day they still talk bad about me i trusted the wrong people and here i am having to put my life back together again let me buy a show of hands that's your hands father every hand is lifted today in jesus name while we will not do an altar call today something is happening at your seat right now if you would yield yourself to the lord put both hands up and say father do listen go to go to the point of pain in my heart just tell come to the point of pain in my heart and begin your work do your work in me i want to be free of this no more trust issues because you trusted the wrong people that is not what god has for you that is not what god has for you you trust them with your gift they use your gift and through your way no more say this how you might say lord i trust you with every broken part with every painful place i thank you for the word i received it will bring forth fruit in me thirty sixty and a hundredfold it will change me transform me i receive today complete healing in this place of betrayal in jesus name amen amen amen how many of you heard the lord today you heard the lord today glory god glory to god
