We start tonight with decision 2024 thousands of supporters gathered at former President Donald Trump's rally at Dream City Church in North Phoenix this afternoon. Good evening. And thanks so much for joining us for 12 news at six. I'm Katya Divine. I'm Jonathan mccuen tonight for Mark. Today's record breaking heath though creating some serious health problems for the folks who were attending. 12 news has live team coverage of the former president's visit to the valley. This Thursday 12 news journalist Chase Gold Lightly was there speaking to that large crowd of folks who showed up in Chase, some folks had to be taken away to the hospital. Jonathan Kbe. That's right. Phoenix. Firefighters actually had to set up a small triage in this shaded area right here next to the church. Officials with the fire department, tell us they had to transport 11 people to the hospital as a precaution for reported cases of heat exhaustion. Now speaking with a few folks out here, they said that they actually left because of the heat, but the majority of people said they weren't going to let the weather get in the way of them hearing from Donald Trump, but I'm thrilled to be back in beautiful Arizona. Former president, Donald Trump was welcomed by a few 1000 supporters from across the valley. All packed into the dream city church in North Phoenix, Phoenix. Everyone here wanting Trump to address the issues that are important to them. How are we going to move forward from where we are today? The border crisis, obviously just to lower taxes in general. My biggest concern is election fraud. But getting into the same room as Trump was a long journey. I knew there would be a large crowd, thousands line up outside the venue, buying Trump gear. I like to meet people in the crowd and, you know, socialize, but mostly they just waited a little over two hours. It stretched all over the property and some who showed up when doors opened at 10 were worried they wouldn't get in. Hopefully we'll get in. If not, we'll be out here trying to hear in others just accepted it. I know I won't be able to get, there's no need to worry about. There's no space. Obviously, when I saw the crowd, I was fully expected to not get in and you got thousands of people outside that didn't get in. So I don't know about, I don't know if they're gonna be so thrilled. What people weren't happy about was the weather as temperatures continue to climb and I hope we get in, it's getting hot, doing whatever they could to cool down. I bought a bo already. There were sprinklers on over there. That was really nice. Phoenix fire responded to several heat exhaustion calls, people getting carried out on stretchers and given and we did notice that at the beginning of people starting to line up that they were selling water bottles out here. But once Phoenix firefighters showed up and just responding to all these different heat exhaustion cases, they were starting to hand out free water bottles to people. We are still in contact with the fire department to see if the number of cases of heat exhaustion has risen since the last update we received for. Now we're live in Phoenix, Cisco Lightly 12 News.
