our friend tom browning and scott call here from brad's killer fishing gear so today we're at the lake it's supposed to be a nice sunny day it's raining already but we're going to go out and catch ourselves some trout a little more than drizzle this will burn off that'll get them biting yeah they're already wet that's right so nothing wrong with low morning drizzle no not at all well let's get this show on the road everybody stay tuned it's gonna be an awesome day [Music] we're to the fishing ground everybody we got a pretty good little combo going of what do we see here a lot of cup plugs cup hugs with corn and wigglers so copper in the darker days overcast day has been producing really well then we got the gold with the uh black on the back and the old faithful little orange tip down there and then uh yeah old faithful so this has been a really good setup dark days little overcast guys so we got the mexican hat kcp got it behind here hey dog everybody yeah it's happening come get it little lady you got a heart all right we'll get back to this one later yeah didn't even have time so ryan just don't screw it up that's all we have yeah just do what you're doing but different do what you're doing but different now a little faster now a little slower wait up hold it up now down not down okay move the hand up on the right a little bit okay now back come on in oh there he is you're gonna leave it in the water though there you go is that that's a little coho isn't it where's that trout what is that a little little coke yep eyeballs on him yeah way to go ronnie thank you what was that on christine's special first one of the day just barely barely hooked in the corner of the mouth no bait on that rig so we can let that one go i'm looking for a little bit bigger but uh those cut really nice nice coho and i have to say ronnie did a great job fighting it huh natural first one of the day in and out all right so this is the color that we've been using when it's been a little bit overcast maybe before the sun comes up mexican hat got it rigged here with a bobber stop nice thing about that is you can adjust the setback to wherever you want we have a number four drop shot hook back to oh just about a finger's length to a size 10 treble and that's been working really well um about eight ten inches behind a dodger and uh yeah watch this thing go off today it's gonna go so one of the other keys with this is just going slow enough as little's reminding me right here um little is reminding me to go slow enough to not get everything tangled up a lot of times people put it out too fast and then you'll actually get the bait wrapped around the dodger especially when you've got a short leader like this so uh thank you little for the heads up i appreciate that reminding me to slow her down there we go there you go that one feels a little better coming at me he's coming at me oh god he's coming at me sean or i lost him i don't know oh he's there he's there all right this thing's pulling some tricks on me another coho looks like a little bit bigger though yeah look at how silver and clean they are that one will eat good what do you think tiny oh look at that that's a that's why that dropper treble is so important didn't even touch that that front hook went but just completely engulfed that thing ain't coming off we'll keep that one no matter what because that thing's pretty swallowed in there that looks really cool oh ronnie get it get it other way other way come on guys look at the sparkles we put some on our cheeks we call it a rave yes we're waving out here guys [Laughter] here it is [Applause] well it sure is definitive those spots on and does look exactly like an adult coho almost fish on the front right there it is a plug rod oh it's a good one nice fish oh we got one right there right behind you it just takes me a minute okay oh it's off [Music] right on the turn again i can feel it i think he threw a buddy or he's swimming at me oh he's swimming at me [Music] nice even little's trying to help you out oh he's got my back what you got going on there ron dog oh look at him coming in what'd you say the cows are eating the fish are biting that's right nice one nice you want to put some skills on your face [Laughter] so that's actually part of our interview process at brad's if they don't take the fish to the face then they don't get hired fish smacking there you go oh that was beautiful sit on there all right so brad's just coming out with a new line of makeup it's called stay fishy fish sparkle works well you see uh we've got jordan kenickie here he's he's rocking it it's working pretty well good luck go with my eyes nice one another nice rainbow guys what a fish another nice coal oh it is railing it little's right on it again little saying hey it's this one guys come on keep it up oh it just oh oh no is that yours what's going on it came off something has oh [Music] so that one we had all the way up until it got caught on the other line that jordan was trying to actually get out of the way but uh the fish swung right right at the last second got caught up and got off and strange because you really don't lose many with that setup but that's the lady m he's trying to get it fatty rainbow oh there we go oh man sandwich bite sandwich bite sean man those things rip hard they do the hammer every single one of them you think is going to be giant he's coming right at me again though oh get it get it sean you got to be the sandwich holder now look at that chunker little bigger fish there nice rainbow just let it out just put it thank you it was doctored then i turned my head and i turned into danny all sudden i wasn't watching but guess who was watching little again thank you little for having my back buddy pinned up not going anywhere look at that so we've hit a couple fish on this red and white one it's the 97 so this is brad schoenborn's one of his favorites i personally really have never fished it um we've got so many lures it's uh you can't fish them all right but brad said hey that red and white one um he's just been whacking them for trout especially early in the morning so and we forgot to put it on early in the morning so the sun's up it's now probably oh nine o'clock or so but we said hey let's put it on anyway and try it and uh sure enough brad that one's for you buddy you called it and that red red and white's been going off uh with bright sun and uh as you say it goes off early in the morning before the sun and we got another fish we got we just gotta keep having scott do interviews here because it just gets us to fish every time it's perfect every time we start showing you something guys and pretty much as like he's talking and showing that one almost every single thing we have out so far has been working great and every one of them is a brass product and not necessarily all trout lures i mean a lot of these at first weren't necessarily there's more designed for cocaine different stuff like that but obviously and we fishes on a couple addicted lifes like this where we've gone and fished for these big triploids and stuff and what worked best every time with these uh dodgers and these little mini cup plugs come a long way since the old ford fender haven't we oh boy [Music] ronnie did that hit coming in or do you think it was in i think it was sitting on there they're just swimming with the boat yep which they'll do at times they'll just they'll hit and they'll just swim along with the boat and uh run dog muscle them right in boom in the box there's a lot of talk about eyes on on baits and if it makes a difference or not so i personally think it does because all the fish out there all the bait fish have eyes on them so we're going to try this and we're going to put an eye on just a regular bait and then we're going to fish one with an eye and one without an eye and we're going to see how it does which one do you think's going to work better what do you think i think the eye's going to work gives a little contrast and if you think about it every bait fish sardine anchovy minnows out here right everything's got an eye so that fish is used to seeing that eye so i think that that's gonna out fish it that's my theory we'll see a cool little profile on a moving moving presentation like that well and look how much it changes that lure from just a pure pink as soon as it hit it it was like yeah which which that pink catches a lot of fish just like that but all sudden with an eye it's like a whole different lure yeah we'll have to set them side by side and see which one works check it out one on the paint guys we just were going to bring it up to change leads we were wondering if it wasn't working this one's been swimming with it the whole time all right so let's see if it's the pink with the eye or pink with a no eye what the heavy fish you got on there buddy it's gonna make me feel like a wimp when it's a tiny fish [Music] it's no eyeball oh he's on magic touch i just had to touch it oh he's a jumper [Music] all right so that one is hooked pink with the eye oh there's a fish right there oh look at that scott started talking again and look we have another one baby just keep talking all right there's the one with the eye comes the one with the non-eye dude that's a big one always head shaking look at me all bend oh bender oh it's all bender that's a big one oh baby he thought he kept us on the railway with the eye look at that thing [Music] yeah so this is what's been working for us drop shot hook right in the bottom corner of the mouth hogwarts here today 10 inches to a cup plug this is a pink that we added a eyeball to it's now three to three eyes versus no eyes i think the eyes are gonna have it but we'll see then just up to a dodger [Music] a little bit of weight what's that length you're running between the dodger and the weight so between the larger the weight is about 36 inches they're right that's what is that 2015 you got on there uh my bumper is 30. that's basically that's mainly so it keeps from the tangles right kind of like the same idea with salmon i think it helps with the action on the dodger a little bit too one thing we haven't talked about is tuning them dodgers you can you can bend them to get a little more action out of them um if you look there's a crease across that there if you take that crease if you want more action find a square edge on your boat get the right direction here this is the front the narrow end is the front the wide end is the back you want to bend the crease on the back side of it just push down a little bit put more of an angle to it it'll make it kick harder and if you don't want that just bend it back out straighten it back out a little bit that can really be the difference in a bite some days absolutely yeah absolutely yeah yeah all right so we'll bring this other set up for you guys and show you the other way we're set up today and really we haven't been strained from this at all we've been flatlining some of the uh the actual wigglers themselves and they've been working really good but the other way we've been catching the majority of fish today is on these little divers so this one is the mud dogger magnum and that one has a little bit wider bill so it gets deeper what we have that is just gone ultra light rod any kind of trolling rod will work just fine for that we got braided line which is nice and sensitive that way you're not losing your dodge or anything that goes straight to the bill of that dodger right off the bottom they got that snap swivel in the clasp there and that goes all the way down he's got a lipstick on here we're just running some different variable plugs out there seeing if we could find a little bit bigger fish but all the all the wigglers and all the lipsticks and everything we've used today have worked really well so these two setups that dodger and then this diver with this with this lipstick or with any sort of brad's wiggler has been working really dang good oh go fish [Music] the whole time that one's on the old pink eye oh pink eye good pink eye 4-3 [Music] bye-bye all right so the eye competition pink eye versus no pink eye no pun intended uh pink eye four non-pink eye three what's our what's our conclusion that pink guy's just really irritating those fish pink guy in general irritates the fish but uh yeah seemed to work out fished it a little bit um i think if we went further we had some other takedowns on this that actually missed because we only have one hook because they've been hitting so hard we lost the other so not really a fair comparison but yeah i think pink guy is out doing it [Music] all right finally we almost had doubles but then we had triples look at that that's just a pile of chrome they're all nice look at all that brad's killer no pun intended here look at all this brad's killer stuff well what do you guys think should we go get us a little catching cut going oh man i'm hungry that's looking like some good fish too we got some absolutely dimer little trout to go eat so let's hit the bank let's go do this [Music] oh well everybody that was a pretty killer day of fishing tom i definitely want to say thank you for getting us out there it was really great i mean everything worked every little trick you had in the book he opened his big santa bag of goodies and it got us a whole plate of goodies going here so we're gonna do a little cooking here guys we got a few different recipes scott brought some some homemade secret stash baby yeah you're gonna love it though secret seasoning and you can smell it from here and uh we're gonna do a few different recipes so we're just going to go crazy we brought some onions we got some some garlic we got garlic seasoning we got lime we got secrets one of them i think let's go butter all around why don't you just start grabbing some of that seasoning and just working your magic just go to town just go to town it's pretty simple i'm going to town right here all right so we're going to compare each one blind taste says tom blind taste test little and see which tastes the best little you're gonna like it it'll be a pretty strict judge i think you're hungry so just putting a little bit of butter on each and every one of them here okay this one's gonna be money you're done you're totally that's all right that's all it needs yeah no chambers no don't even try it little garlic close it up it's competition throwing the towel i got a white towel even okay a little garlic and herb a little minced garlic on that one oh man nice and garlicky nice and cleansing you know good for the soul next one over we're gonna do a little bit of lime juice lime is way underrated on fish i love lime on fish not many people i mean just about every warm water fish or like person go fish for warm water fish they put a lot of lime on fish blue water fish has got yeah they've always got lime on it northwest it's all lemon oh so you mix it together i mean why not might even just cook itself all right put some onion on what about the last one we're gonna do on the last one oh god i forgot about that one you did so let's see what makes all of it all right here we go oh yield garbage that's special this is a fun way to do this kind of stuff especially when you're catching the stalker trout these fish are way out in the lake they're living in here a long time so i would say it's probably some of the higher quality meat of trout i mean you guys saw how chrome and beautiful that they were so i'm excited to get these things eaten a little bit did we get some of this on there oh god no that would have been it would have been disastrous now tom what temperature did you get that up to about three quarters of the dial about three quarters that looks pretty tasty [Music] oh boys getting to be game time look at that tell you what i ain't eating that one there eating that one there though that was really good yeah that smells pretty good secret so just give us a little taste of that secret what's going on got a little brown sugar and that's all i'm saying man can't say anymore well boys let's eat this looks awesome oh man baby i'm trying yours first all right i'm taking the shoulder piece it almost tastes like steak i'm not kidding you oh man that's really good am i wrong it tastes like steak it does it doesn't even taste like trout yeah that's good that's a well that's crazy that's really good yeah something something keep your eye out well something something come a little later wow that was all garlic [Music] not bad flavor but a little salty awesome taste in trout though yeah you know normally i mean we eat a lot of stalker trout and it's awesome for people to go out and be able to eat their catch but always you know if you have the choice certain times of year one and two certain lakes and stuff you can find fish that have been in the lake longer have been eating more natural food rather than like the pellets from the hatchery i think that's why these taste so damn good all right so what's this one here touching lemon and lime and lemon and lime how's that one meh you know yeah but that's honestly my probably my least favorite recipe this is the smorgasbord right here that's the gutter shot right there oh man pizazz good oh yeah really yeah good mix of flavors taste of garlic taste the secret something something well tom we can't thank you enough for having us out here on the lake today now do you do this kind of guiding most of your go ahead and tell people what you do but you got you're on the columbia and kind of all over the place yeah i travel all over the state fish columbia down low over on the east side and that for each in the fall um do some walleye trips over there right i fish uh lakes for the trout coconing which is super unique there's a lot of guys out there that don't do it now cameron likes to do the coconut a lot but this trout stuff is so much fun to share with the family get new people into fish and get kids out get get the grandparents out just anybody yeah buddy this is a great trip for the kids it's that's probably the most fun i have during the years taking the kids out here well it was a beautiful day and thanks we appreciate you so much i'd recommend anybody
