this time it is a wonderful happy sabbath happy sabbath to you wherever you are in the world um in your homes in your living rooms good morning and happy sabbath just want to welcome you to the trench town seventh adventist church virtual church today i'm so happy that you could make it and i hope that you will worship the lord the beauty of holiness today with us all right so we're going to start off our sabbath school service with song service all right but before we do that let us pray shall we borrow our heads heavenly father we thank you for waking us to see this beautiful sabbath morning we thank you for being with us during the course of the week for the many blessings that you've bestowed upon us for protecting us from sicknesses and diseases covered 19 and accidents and injury and everything lord and for keeping us safe and sown and for allowing us to be here to worship you i pray that you'll forgive us of the sins that we have committed and that he will cleanse us from all unrighteousness and just make us clean lord and accept the worship that we're about to give to you come divinely close to us now lord and i pray that you will bless us as we worship and that you will face in the footsteps of those who are coming online and help us to have a wonderful experience with you today in jesus name i pray amen all right as it's customary please if you have a song selection in our physical church but wherever we are we are a church and it is a sabbath and it is a wonderful thing to be in the presence of god on his holy and blessed sabbath day so welcome this morning greater than the devil's hand we believe our father that the challenges that we face from day to day that they were able to sustain us and protect us and so far we put before your lord our families our friends our loved ones and our neighbors we pray especially lord for our church members we're going through troublesome lives we pray feeling we pray for guidance we pray your father that your spirit of long suffering will lead us as we go through this sabbath days program we pray lord that the devil will will not prevail or your program will go as planned may someone be touched may someone be drawn closer to thee we bless your name and we say thanks in jesus name amen amen thank you sister janae sister darrett and brother maize for leading out in the preliminary this morning our theme is you are not alone you are not alone the word alone is an adjective that describes someone or something as being in isolation or as being unique can be used also as an adjective to mean something was done by a single individual sometimes we use the word alone and we think of loneliness when you think of loneliness but loneliness is a feeling of sadness caused by not having anyone around while alone so we we can be alone but not lonely are you alone you may be a single mother left alone to care for your child you may be in isolation or quarantine how are you feeling it is okay to be alone but when we are when we get to a point of loneliness especially during this time of pandemic when friends are not around god promise us that he will always be there in times of loneliness we should reassure ourselves of the promises by reading the word of god and getting affirmation from the scripture that god is with us he promised that he will never leave us nor forsake us i have some example of loneliness but i'm gonna take the mission story and then we'll come back to it at this time i'm going to call on sister shantan miller to give us the mission story good morning everyone happy sabbath so our mission story this week is entitled a book and a school tatiana stopped at a used bookstore on her way home from work at the seventh-day adventist school in topmock kiritsan she had just started teaching russian language and literature at the school after unexpectedly receiving a job offer from the principal as tatiana paid for several books the sales clerk picked up another book here she said you can have this book as a gift tatiana wasn't going to turn down a free book she took the book paid for the others and placed them all in her purse at home she curiously examined the free book it was called the great controversy she had never heard about the author lng white she leafed through the pages and saw contract contact information for a man named pavel noskov printed on the last page to her surprise the address was in the same apartment building where she lived as she thought for the next few days about pavel being her neighbor she noticed that a teacher at the school had the same last name as pavel tatiana took the book to school and showed it to the teacher irina are you pavel's wife she asked yes irina said pavel is my husband tatiana learned that the family was seventh-day adventists and attended church every summer arena invited tatiana and her adult son andrei over to chat with her and her husband pavel during one of their meetings pavel told tatiana that adventist u ellen white as a beloved author and prophet intrigued tatyana read the great controversy with great interest tatiana and andre began attending a small bible study group that met weekly in pavel and arena's home when pavel's mother fell ill and a new place was needed for the small group tatiana opened her home for the bible studies just a few weeks later a spiritual crisis erupted tatyana and andre both felt strongly that they had to make a decision to become adventists or to stop associating with adventists altogether they told pavel that they didn't know what to do only god can save you from this crisis pavel said tatiana and pavel prayed and decided to attend their first worship service on sabbath the experience at church was unlike anything they had ever experienced the church members were warm and welcoming they were overjoyed to see the visitors and treated them like a long like long lost friends tatiana and andre felt that they had come home tatiana and andre were baptized together on april 6 2019. tatiana credits the adventist school for leading her son and herself to god i thank the school she said if i had not come here to work i would not have stopped at the bookstore on the way home and learned that one of the neighbors in my building was an adventist i would not have known about the adventist church god directed our path part of the 13th sabbath offering three years ago helped construct a gymnasium at the seventh-day adventist school in topmock kyrgyzstan thank you for supporting adventist education in kyrgyzstan and elsewhere in the euro asia division amen so we see as we are we all have the opportunity to share god with somebody by introducing them to one of our literature so we are looking at you are not alone just a reminder when you're in that space when in that state where you feel that there's no one there for you this morning i'm here to remind us that we don't have to be alone i want to look at some stories example of persons in the bible who had found themselves in such a situation but god was there for them god was their refuge and when we look in genesis 29 there's a story about leah and we all know it very well leah was the first wife of jacob her sister was the second wife leah always felt that her sister was more loved and she was right can you imagine the loneliness of completing with your sister for the husband love and affection so she she wasn't alone but she was lonely but in the midst of everything we can count on god to be with us there's also another story coming from genesis 21 with agar and ishmael edgar was a servant of sarah who bored a son for abram ishmael sarah's jealousy towards her towards her caused agar and her son to be cast out into the desert she even sat down to die because she and her son were totally alone without help can you imagine the loneliness she felt for herself and her son and her child but guess what we all know the story god rescued her and her son we can also look at the woman with the issue of blood who was isolated for 12 long years she could not attend church she could not sit where other people sat even in her home she could not have any physical contact what we call today as um social distance she was she had to be social distancing herself from any physical contact but when she met jesus when she touched him of his diamond things changed for her this mean for this woman with the issue of blood in isolation she spent time with god she spent time in the word of god and there she found comfort their god came through for her so in our time of loneliness it is on our time of loneliness we have the opportunity to call on jesus to have a relationship with him to spend time right now we are in a time where we are almost in a shutdown we have to stay at home we can't have any physical contact social distance six feet apart or three feet apart we as human beings we were meant to be social being we were meant to hug and touch and feel and now we have to be a part but i just want to encourage us this morning that we don't have to be alone we have jesus our savior and this is the time when we are alone that we must spend quality time with our savior we must spend time in the word of god not just reading but reflecting and praying so at this time i am going to turn over we are going to turn over to our so this morning we have a lesson today panel we have a wonderful and experienced team leading out with us we have an odds our panel that can introduce we know brother dalton griffiths and we also have bringing us together as family in this virtual space as church family brothers and sisters you say that wherever two or three are gathered you are there in the midst of them and we thank you that even though the devil has tried to use covert to keep us away from each other physically he cannot stop us from linking together to praise you and to lift you up and to worship your holy name so be with us in the midst right now i pray please remove all ounce of self from all of us participants and myself as hosts and may your holy spirit come through us to edify ourselves and to edify your brethren on zoom on facebook and on youtube and everything lord let your we don't pray in jesus name amen so this week's lesson we were looking at the topic it was a wonderful topic called what wage love waging love normally here we're doing a wagering war but instead they were waging love i want to talk to the panel what came to your mind when you heard this when you saw this topic waging love let me begin with all the normal nails what came to your mind when you've heard about that as it's interesting like you know i like puns and different things like that so it's nice the the the shift there there's usually waging war so you're trying to fight against uh another person another group or another topic but this one was waging love which is okay we're going to attack with love which is uh a really interesting type of thing to try to do that way i'm going to want to attack somebody with love um so that's what first came to mind said that uh yeah that was my first thought there that's cool and actually that's a great funny thing about that attacking with love especially look at the story um sister marshall jake consider the the story that we had on sabbath about that director what do you think about that story and waging love like what norman said attacking love i really liked the shift when i saw the title of the lesson i really appreciated it and i think that we find ourselves in these situations many times you're you're faced with the choice so whether you're going to wage love or whether you're going to wage war and we know which one we usually pick whether it's love or war and i think that the lesson was challenging us the introductory story was challenging us to wage love and not war i think it was our great story and it proves that it proves the power of love it proves the impact the positive impact that love can have on a person indeed um for those of us who may not have got to read the story the quick summary of the story is that there was a jewish priest or cantor and his wife and the kkk we know about the kkk these racist guys the kkk man was pressuring them sending hate messages toward them and stuff but what they did they trapped the guy down and rather than tracking him down to send him to prison or to beat him up they track it down they decided to feed him they started to treat him with love and kindness and he was utterly fabricated and what do you think happened his hatred melted and became love imagine that brother dalton what do you think of that kind of story do you see do you find yourself a challenge would you be able to do that and i admit i might not be able to do that would you be able to do that brother dalton um it doesn't come natural by any human being it is something that you have to learn of christ you follow me because remembering a christ confuses you thinking insane somebody upset with you you know go to them you're following me yes sir somebody yeah the person has not done your entity but you need to go to them and make it right that's what christ does so that's what his teaching promotes and why and and i definitely and this lesson i think is this is the this is the best lesson and this is this should be the theme of any church any church any church any church at all including our church we should tolerate wage love you follow me go out and meet them and why don't why christ i mean god psychology is is his past our thoughts you know the lesson will bring out you know he knows the answer and the answer will forever be love that's it amen that's true and um i'm pointed out sister nikki said indeed people on facebook and youtube you can put in your comments and we have people on multiple platforms so they'll paste them here so i can use they can share your comments there as well and um quick skipping quickly to sunday's lesson because just one part of the lesson i really want us to delve in towards stories apart i just want to go right through our brother patrick it says here i want to get your feedback on the member text it says in isaiah 55 verse 1 where it says everyone who thirsts come to the waters and though you who have no money come by and eat how can you buy and eat something when there's no money what is the text actually saying here if you're going to buy something for free what do you think about that brother patrick yeah um again the things of the things of the bible are the things i've got sometimes it's foolishness listen to the white right because it's it's really difficult to understand how you can buy something that is free um there's a number of things there that comes it was already bought for us that that that's one thing that comes to mind right this this gift of salvation it was purchased and purchased with a price that we can never ever understand so we we as the recipients when coming and having it it's free for us but it was already bought that that is the point that i got from it amen to that because there is nothing actually free in this world you know because everything that is free there is a cost attached somebody paid for it maybe you would never pay for it but somebody did like if you were blessed to have a free education you got a scholarship you know the teachers got paid somebody paid the money for you you didn't have to pay but somebody paid and in that same vein here when you're saying that you're coming to buy and eat you're not buying with your money but you know somebody about bought it for you salvation was the most the most expensive thing ever bought you know the gift of christ who came to us and so the question is asked here salvation is free in the sense that there is nothing we can do to earn it and our works can never be enough to save us amen but yet at the same time it costs us everything salvation success everything what does that mean i want to sort of talk to the panel what does it mean that salvation is free yet it costs us everything um if i take a stab at it it costs us everything in that it costs us ourselves it's a free gift but we have to we have to give ourselves through the spirit we we have to accept this gift with our love with ourselves they're made on the line through the spirit comes sacrifices and a number of things that we have to make but first and foremost we have to make that decision that we are giving ourselves talk to the father amen sorry if i could follow um on what patrick is saying you know earlier it's a good thing that it's free too because had there been a a price put to it and and then put to us we could never pay it anyway and when it says that it cost us everything for me that that crucial word there that comes into play is sacrifice that it it means that we have to give our all it means that there is no part of us that we can withhold from god um he withheld nothing from us he emptied all of heaven to to pay the price and and our only response should be all of us for all of him norman have anything to add uh just to add to that it's um just to borrow from a quote at the bottom of uh the lesson on on the app uh from christ object lesson that says we cannot earn salvation but we are to seek for it with as much interest and perseverance as though we would abandon everything in the world for it so that's our top priority um but also it's a daily thing as the the lesson points out from luke 9 verse 23 uh says take up your cross daily and follow him so it's that regular self disinterest and saying okay lord today i need to give you my all it's not okay today and then okay today's the sabbath all right i'm good and i'll see you next time it's every single day of our lives we have to have that that that that connection with christ that's right i'm going to stick that point because that jumps into where i want to go next which is on tuesdays i'm going to skip monday but i see a hand from crystal crystal you have um one minute or less to give you a point hi afternoon everyone so there's a text that comes to mind and it's matthew 16 verses 24 and it says then jesus says to his disciples whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me it is the denying of yourself that you're gonna lose everything you know because if you're not losing anything in honesty if you take a track record of your christian life and there's nothing that has dropped off you're not denying yourself are you not following christ and you can't hold yourself that's true that's true because it it costs us so it's free but if anything that you want what if what the proverb said if you are good you know it's suffer run right so anything that is good in this life you're gonna have to sacrifice something to get you're gonna have to put in some kind of effort and in that sense what what effort is that exactly because on tuesdays listen it talks about the fasting that you have on the day of atonement right but however the lord was complaining about the people because they were fasting but they were fasting in a different kind of way isaiah 58 verse 3 to um seven says why have we fasted and you do not see why have we humbled ourselves and you do not notice you know and behold you fast for contention and strife and to strike with a wicked fist you do not fast like you do today to make your voice heard on high in other words these people were fasting to prove themselves they said god look at us look how good we are you have to recognize us for our piety we are fasting and affecting ourselves before you don't you see how humble we are there's a problem with that i think what's the problem with that what what exactly should the fasting be about in that regard dalton i see your reaction what do you think about that my reaction um one thing is clear even from the the study of isaiah in fact let me go there jeffrey i don't if you turn to isaiah chapter one all right from from verse 13 down uh downwards in fact verse 13 says bring no more futile sacrifices he's an incentive to me the new moon the sabbath and the calling of assemblies i cannot endure iniquity and the sacred native what is clear is that god goes to church you follow me god goes to church and what is offering i mean what what is what is depict depicted here in the lesson is that it's authored piety and it and and and there's a 16. god is seen beyond our deeds and say hey that's not what to ask for not at all you know because because we can put on a show each one of us here can play church at church and keep the best service ever ever without singers right right right norman all of us can do that so so so god is saying no man you're getting this thing right it is not about you it's what it is what it is what i want you to do that's right and i what i want you to do that's why he's waging and loving him because that's why the gospel is so amazing it is the gospel but we know that the gospel is filled up filled with love it is the gospel that is going to save many the good news the good news the fact that you can help your enemies the fact that they can feed someone who is hungered clothes that's the good news so follow me and cry to say that is what you need to do you don't need to be present it is it is more important to do that more than to be present nine o'clock at church i'm not saying that we should break church rules i'm not saying that but it will be best to do what you ask what which is the love do you want myself to do meet the fatherless care for the widow and also and isaiah said then no you can't come and raise with me i thought you said enough he wants to give yeah i'm just borrowing uh from dawson there just going down to verse 16 but you said no it's true that god goes to church but sometimes telling us in verse 16 and verse 17 you need to get out to church you need to to wash he said wash you make you clean put away the evil of your doing before mine eyes cease to be evil verse 17 learn to do well seek judgment relieve the oppressed yeah you got to get out to church sometimes sometimes the service is nice but before you go to that service you need to have sought out your brother as you've mentioned before you need to to live that selfish life um i didn't understand it was years ago of the fasting but i didn't understand until um one preacher came remember it was but he said you're doing your fasting wrong if all you're doing is not eating and praying he said the time the the the money that you took or the meal that you did not eat you should give to someone else that's right you should it shouldn't just be you saying okay i'm sitting in a corner here i'm not eating lord please bless me he's like no no you need to go out and and as far as we can now but to help others to relieve the oppressed to do those things of course we have to have the spirit of god with us to do that oh indeed indeed indeed um going into that in a little bit because we doubts are not normal important to the two crucial parts of saying you know not just about appearing religious on fasting to say look at me god or empires but because you're you're fasting as a thankfulness you're saying i see what god has done for me and i'm grateful that i'm fasting i see what god has done for me and i'm giving it to others that's what i'm going to encounter to give out and to give social justice so how do we as individuals ensure that we are not doing the right thing for the wrong reason how do we ensure that we're not just faking it until i mean it's better to fake it till they make it rather than arduino but how can we make sure that whatever we're doing at church or doing for a church is being done with the right motive towards the right and not just doing it in and of itself marshall patrick in the comment well it all comes from law christianity ultimately as was intimidated before by both norman and dalton christianity is a doing work if you love somebody it always comes to that if you love you must do if you love somebody you must go and look for them you're concerned about them you will give them your food you will tell them about jesus you will share all the good things that you are you will want to give to them or make them share in all the good things that you're having you don't want to be at a higher level than they are you will always be trying because you love them to bring them up right and this is what this is the fast that god loves we spoke about it we had a quarterly devoted to that and i mean isaiah the the the prophet was big on that it was a message listen i want you to look after the least of my people i really want you to go there find a way to reach the gentiles don't just think about israel don't just think about yourself go out there as i would if i am there and bring people to me bring people to me that's what it's about that that's how the love is shown and it's very very difficult to fake that extremely difficult mm-hmm amen to that because don't believe that here's a mushroom please i'll be quick just wanted to say that um self is the ugly man in the mirror that we're always faced with you know with everything that we we have to do and um the bible said that we're shaped in iniquity how do you get rid of your shape how do you avoid that well the lesson spoke about two two um aspects it's book about sabbah keeping and social kindness and you can fake those two you can be legalistic you can be given out of selfish reasons but the listener also spoke about a third dimension which is self-denial and two two or three persons before mentioned you know that daily submission that daily submitting to god and i think that if we do that constantly that if we make that consistently a part of our communication and relationship with him then we wouldn't even want to fake social giving or anything else that he asked us to do and in fact we can't because he would have transformed us there would have been conversion in our lives so that that self-denial that third element will prevent us from faking suburb keeping and prevent us from faking social giving social kindness amen um dalton you have a point you wanted to i'm i'm just thinking i can clarify me if i'm wrong can we really fake it though social kindness in this because if you practice it long enough you know it will change you no i agree if your practice is long enough it will change you the thing is that you see a lot of people in this day and age no you have the people that i'm taking picture like you're giving it for the social aspect instagram giving like the is the phone yeah the phone smiling nothing yeah give the person things sk skinny like that but even but if you give the heart has to be there that's a crucial point um and if you give it it changes you or we have we have until 10 45 so we can't go too long go down under normal no no i want to finish my point i'm actually coming at me i want to finish this when i say fake i'm talking in the sense of a believer you follow me i'm a believer because some believers have to learn it to them you follow me they might not see the need for it i understand the reason why they do it but they say the church is going our group of us wake up a bit earlier and spend some quality time in bible study and prayer too often we wake up the first thing we do is look at the phones and we go out we might end up doing some good deeds but hey i feel good about that but it really truly starts with that connection that daily connection with god through the power of the holy spirit so that's my challenge we just wake up 15 minutes earlier spend that extra time with god amen all right patrick and i'm going to read some of the comments and then pop up um you know and what i'm going to say may be very controversial i'm afraid i'm agreeing with dalton because if if we recall when the widow gave her my mind she gave everything now there are some of us who will be giving yes and this is where the faking comes in you're giving but you're not giving anything that will will shallow your pocket a little more you're okay when you're giving this so i have i have ten thousand dollars yeah it look good when i give a man a hundred dollars but if somebody really needs a need going to do an operation and require eight thousand dollars already i am at that point to take 8 000 out of my 10 to give to this person this is where the love comes in because you're not going to be doing and worse when you do it anonymously right so there's there's there's virtue and value in what jesus says you know don't let your writer know what a left and doing that sort of thing because when you're doing these things and you're doing it anonymously really and truly there is a blessing for you with that and when you're giving in that manner sacrificial manner that that is very very difficult i'm i'm not going to say impossible because i don't know but it's going to be very difficult dalton to feel that all right patrick is here in my box made with them comments a real box a feeling that um time is our time is gone but what i want to do i just want to read some of the comments you have from youtube sister claudette sinclair said we are admonished to go out and look for those who are suffering and offer help that's one way of fasting sister yoli said that it's a good thing to give but if it's not a god thing motive is what comes to god um sister come on smith says doing the deed just to be seen is legalism but doing the deed out of genuine love and kindness should be the heart of a truly transformational rose watson said that no we have so this morning we are looking at or the question you are the statement to say you are not alone and um we were reminded that the times that we are living in you know a lot of persons find themselves alone it is okay to be alone but certainly not okay to be lonely and in a state of loneliness there is things that we can do there is something that we can do as god god's people we are not immune from being alone but when we are alone we know where to turn we know who is our source and who is our strength and romans 8 verse 31 reminds us what shall we then say to these things if god be for us who can be against us he has not his own son but delivered him up for us all or shall he not with him also freely give us ordinance who shall who shall lay anything to the child of god it is god that justify we see that condemning it is christ that guy yea rather that is written again who is even at the right hand of god who may also make an intercession for us who shall separate us from the love of christ shall tribulation or distress or persecution or coming or nakedness or peril or sword as it is written for thy sake we are killed all the day long we are counted as sheep for this plot yay in all these things we are more than conquerors to him so no matter what situation is no matter what cause you might find yourself in to be lonely remember that nothing could separate you from the love of god we always have the word of god you know to comfort us to guide us to to be our shield it is our weapon it is our everything so we can read the word of god meditate upon it and live it when we study the word of god we'll find that we will never be alone because god promises that he will always be with us there are so many promises in his word to assure us and to reassure us that god is with us may we continue to trust him as we go through the rest of this week and to the rest of this time of pandemic we don't know when we'll find ourselves in a isolated state and i wish and hope that none of us here will find ourselves in such a situation but if we find ourselves there remember that we have a god and so this is the time that i encourage all of us to spend time with the word of god meditate upon god's word so if you find yourself there you can bring the memory the promises that you have read and that will keep you in your time of loneliness may god bless us as we you are a god who still heals and as such dear god we are calling out your name today to heal somebody spiritually heal somebody physically there jesus heal somebody emotionally heal your people who are crying out to you hear them lord hear today we pray it is god who did it for me father we pray for our young people we have so many struggles in our way especially in this time but father i pray that you will speak to their hearts speak to our heart their god so that we can our eyes upon you remind us do nothing man whatever the world offers is a temporary god so show us the way whenever we face our witness for strength to person because you study that in our weaknesses your strength is made perfect so we know that you are able but we have to come to you i pray that you speak to the hearts of your young people and that they turn to you remind them that you love them with an everlasting love those who are struggling to get past their past lord remind that one that two percent they say that their past has no control over stuck in in that dark that darkness but lord remind them to they give them that breakthrough that you have forgiven them but all they have to do is forgive themselves today you have claimed them their god so whatever the enemy tells them their father help them not father we pray for those who are seeking a financial breakthrough you said that you have never seen the righteous forsaken or steamed begging bread you have promised that you will take care of your people that you will supply all of your needs according to your riches in glory to free somebody to be a god show up for that man show up for that woman show up for that young person show up there jesus we believe we know that you are able we pray for our church family i pray that you will help us to love each other more i pray that you will help us to realize that the enemy knows that there is power in agreement there is power in unity and of such is trying to pull us apart but father we know that you are powerful we know that when we seek you you will take care of everything to help us to do what you require of them we pray for your man of god the one whom you you have given a word today we pray that you will anoint him one more time let let him not be seen but let your holy spirit take control and that heart will be blessed and we will leave resonated in our hearts or brother carey singer sings for that wonderful rendition at such a time as this we need to get deeper in the lord jesus christ so he can take us higher what do you say church let me say many songs for the kind introduction by none other than sister tiana and i wish to thank you all also thank you for the pros thank you for being on this platform or whatever other whether it is youtube or facebook whatever medium i wish to welcome you as we worship the lord in the beauty of holiness it is now time for the spoken word and i wish to share with you my brothers and sisters as you may well know burdens that are laid on my heart i truly have a burden on my heart which i'd like to share with god's people this morning and so i will start off by telling you a true country story a true country story that took place back home in the beautiful parish of portland as a little boy growing up in the country we were accustomed to have in our diet dashi and coco and yam and long grain rice and for those of us who don't know what long green rice is it is the famous banana we say long grain rice because it has a shape of the rice and normally in my home we eat long green rice six days a week and on sabbath we have the rice and the peas punching life so on this particular day i must tell you that we were feeling so elated as children because by now we were fortunate as a family to have graduated from the fireside outside in the kitchen to the kerosene stove luxury a promotion and so my grandmother he knowing that it was time to prepare the dinner he lit this cold the kerosene stove with a glass bottle on one side i know the young ones would not know what i'm talking about but it has on one side a glass bottle and it had always had two burners one for the starch and one for the protein i would say but we had a problems things the problem that my grandmother had that day was that there was less than a quarter bottle of kerosene quarter button of kerosene yes it's a transparent bottle and i could observe that it was about quarter bottle and it was a big pot country people cook no food because we have to cook sufficient to give around to the neighbors or anybody else who come would come along and so my grandmother put on the big pot and of course those who know about cooking you wait for the water to get a bit warm so that happened and she started to put in the starch or the food remember now long bean rice yum was going in and as he finished cooking i began fish putting the food in the pot on that rainy sunday afternoon portland was known to be a rainy parish guess what happened by then the kerosene in the bottle finished remember now it was a big part so it took some time to walk and the car scene was finished oh what a tragedy so to speak as far as the cooking was concerned but we remember of course and we know that we were we have graduated from the outside fireside to the stove so quickly somebody ran to get to make a fire in the fireplace in the kitchen where we normally cook but because it was a rainy day and a rainy week the firewood was wet and so we huffed and puffed and did all all we could to get the fire going it was more than just a spark we had to throw kerosene on to get the fire going many sparks we tried eventually the fire slowly start coming after some 15 or so minutes and we transferred the big part to the fireplace but those of you who are from the country like myself sister danny i don't know if you know what would have happened but before you can guess for those who may not know the food in the pot was drunk drunk food do you understand what i mean by drunk food i am not talking about the food being like a drunk mother intoxicated man it is spent the same way d r u and k but it is worse than a drunk man because a man who is drunken he is oblivious to what's happening around him now but as soon as he gets some sleep and wakes up out of the intoxication he's back in his right mind he can he he can reason and talk intelligently but this food was drunk for life no good forever and no matter how long you cook it as we did that day we cooked and we cooked but the food was strong time people say we're gone by the morning evening destroyed drunk food yes my brothers and my sisters this type of food cannot be eaten it cannot be had it is of no use i have also had the misheart of drinking tepid in sugar water you don't know what i'm talking about but it is tipping t-e-b-i-d or lukewarm that is the worst type of tea you could ever drink it is insipid it is horrible tasting why because it is neither hot or cold today my sermon is entitled drunk food and tepid tea junk food and lukewarm or deputy i want to bowl your heads with me as we praise savior we come in your presence today to worship you the day oh god your people are here to get a word from you and the saudi god i ask through the instrumentality of your holy spirit to come within this lump of clay or winters invade my mind invade my mouth invade my thoughts so what i speak will come straight from your throne i pray in jesus name today the true witness of revelation him himself was disgusted with the lukewarm state of god's church lodesia our lord sir and he said in in the book of revelation as i ask you to turn your bibles with me to the book of revelation revelation chapter 3 god had a warning for all seven churches as the angel moved among the campus states that represents the seven churches ephesus odyssey etc etc and when he came to the last church which the spirit of prophecy clearly states is this church lodesia this current church the seventh-day adventist church of today he gave a stern message but i wish to let you know that this was not anything less than a message of love revelation chapter 3 and it reads from verse 15 i know thy works that thou art neither cold nor hot i would the word cold or hunt so then because the world lukewarm and neither cold nor hot i will spew thee out of my mouth have mercy just like when i had that lukewarm tea that day it was so incident that i had to spit it out so today the angel of the lord giving his frank message of love he's saying to this church today and unto the angel of the church of the odysseus right these things say they are men the true and the faithful witness he knows i may not know you may not know because we don't know what is happening behind closed doors or what's happening in our mind but god who knows the intents of our minds he knows our words that we are neither hot nor cold and you would have preferred if we were cold because if you are called when the gospel is preached to us we stand a chance of being converted if we were hot we would be on fire for the lord but when we are in the state of lukewarmness it's a dangerous state to be in because we are nowhere where are we unreachable beyond reach the servant of the lord says it in book testimony is volume three the message to the church of the lodicians is a startling denunciation and is applicable to the people of god at this present time i hope you've got that also friend the author of this message is no other than jesus christ himself our savior and that's why i'm saying this afternoon my brothers and sisters that this is a message of love because the bible tells us that god is now amen a loving god this one who speaks to us he knows us better than ourselves as the book of jeremiah tells us jeremiah chapter 17 verse 9 that the heart is the sinful and desperate the wicked he knows the intent of my heart it knows the intents of your heart and he's the one who is to speak to us today friends because of the selfish seat of lodesia because of the self-esteem of the seventh-day adventist church he jesus regards this message as necessary for us necessary for me therefore since only god knows your attitude in the face of this message we should cry out as a psalmist david search me o god and know my heart and see if there be any wicked way in me and leave me in the way everlasting psalm 139 23 and 24 friends this message has an individual application you know i say that because there are some people who like to point and say the message of people quit doing their trench stuff or hypocrite over the sun this message has an individual application when jesus wrote it he was speaking to each of us individually and if you go back to the original language of greek as the new testament is written in you will discover that it is written in the singular form i know your work i will spew you singular out of my mouth and by extension the collective message or the result of how we take this message is determined by each of us and will determine the direction in which i go but today my brothers and my sisters don't you forget the one who knows is saying to me is saying to you you are lukewarm and he knows what he's saying he knows our words that we are just lukewarm early in the experience of the adventist church that seventh-day adventist church this solemn message was given to god's church and it's written in testimony volume 4 page 87 the lordician message applies to the people of god who profess to believe present truth the greater part are lukewarm professors having a name but no see of mercy god signified that he wanted men at the great heart of the world to correct the state of things existing there and to stand like faithful sentiments at their post of duty he has given them light at every point to instruct encourage and confirm them as the case requires so god my brothers and my sisters is leading this church and as enthused and effective as this church is it is still god's church and he loves us so he's saying to the leaders and to the members those who are the head of the church the heart of the world that we must correct our behavior our relationship with god they thank god many like peter because having permitted the spirit to prove his work in the hearts and lives do not participate in this condition of lukewarmness and i want to be clear to you my brothers and sisters that prior to peter's conversion he exhibited the same form of lukewarmness in fact all the disciples of jesus all of them had a form of godliness because they were intent on one thing they were intent on position in the church they were intent on being the the best the creme de la creme of the new kingdom that they thought the earth the kingdom that they thought jesus was about to set up but i thank god as for peter when he discovered the love of jesus the height and the depth and the knowledge of jesus he said i am not worthy to be crucified like jesus crucified me upside down he moved from a state of lukewarmness see friends we live in a time today the new normal is temperature check when you're coming to church you have to have your temperature checked and i thank god that when the holy spirit checked with this temperature after the change his heart was changed and he was on fire for the lord there was a new temperature and a little vigor an increase towards god nothing bad but what was good peter is a good example of what jesus can do for the luke warm heart and he's speaking to us today he's speaking to god's people today i read another quotation from the servant of the lord in the selected messages volume 2 page 66 and then white further states the message to the ledesians is applicable to seven day adventists who have had great light and have not walked in the light it is those who have made great profession holy know all the commandments which will sing well not the doctrines of the church and i continue but have not kept in step with the leader that will be spewed out of his mouth unless they repent so it is not enough to be professing it is not enough to be just a hero of his word but we must be doers of the word we must internalize jesus and then we will be transformed like how peter was transformed when he really caught a glimpse of who jesus was now there was another disciple of mercy there was another disciple who was also lukewarm like peter and as jesus my lord what a wonderful savior is jesus might jesus he knows us more than we know all snails the servant of the lord tells us in the book of ages that jesus pleaded and was patient with judas for long over and over he pleaded with him he allowed him to move out of his paint of lukewarmness and get warm and get hot and get on fire for the lord so that like the other apostles the only thought that the men in the city found with the apostles that they were turning the city upside down which is really downside up because the world without jesus is upside down like our world today and as jesus worked with judas worked with him patiently working with him just as the holy spirit is working with many of god's people in the hearing of my voice and says stop stealing stop doing that stop doing this put your life put your house in order get ready for jesus is coming judas instead of leading to the loving pleas of jesus he ended up selling jesus fulfilled the luca just a few pieces of silver and what happened to him he stayed there in his lukewarmness until he became drunk drunk his probation was closed when jesus said it is finished when he shall say it is finished on that day it is similar to judas's situation when the bible says judas went out from the presence of god remember what the rest said it was night night for peter darnest no repentance was possible because judas had decided he chose to go the root of satan he throws to abide we say that he trolls think so he prayed for all the disciples go back to john chapter 17 and he's praying for us today that prayer in john chapter 17 is for all of the entire world those who were born from adam read back to those whom in bonnie john 3 verse 16 he has prayed for you he has made every provision that you should be saved so you can place your name there and say and the lord said owen owen behold satan i desire to have you that he may set you as weak but not pastor perhaps that's probably not good at a bread in prayer but when jesus prayed for your virgin you're covered you just have to rejoice in his name when jesus has prayed for you and we know that because peter had the confidence even though he denied jesus three times and he had to come back and says sorry three times praise god he made that
