[Music] so we're just stopping at this scenic overlook to take in the view right here on the guardrail are some stickers small world [Music] good morning it's 4:45 a.m. the Sun has yet to come up and I'm out this morning to see if we can find some stuff on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean quite a ways from Vermont today see we can find some some treasure [Music] [Music] all right well as many of you probably know the metal detector that I use it cannot handle salt water which is why I'm going to spend all my time up in this dry sand it was like 85 degrees yesterday which is unusual for this time of year still early spring and there was just a mess oppressive people out here so I'm sure I'm gonna find a ton of trash but see if we can find something else they dropped [Music] well first treasure of the day pair of shoes just eyeballed them people leave them where he found them though I'm not sure we want those all right well I'm not sure how exciting this is gonna be gab a little coin spill here modern obviously a whole bunch of targets let's see two cents all right let's keep moving we got a target here in the high 80s I'm gonna guess that it's a quarter but it might be a something silver to see with our pin pointer here it's a quarter all right let's keep moving all right good first find out here we got here well this is almost without a doubt not silver but it's silvery now yes just like a kid's necklace or something but hey I will take this over what I've been finding so far awesome let's keep going [Music] all right well I got tired of digging up pennies and nickels up in the drives hands on down to the wet sand we're gonna find some natural treasures it's low tide see what we can see [Music] he thinks in there [Music] pretty pink one [Music] now that I'm looking around there are clams poking out everywhere there's one big one I think the gulls got that one [Music] usually pretty good at finding holes and dollars but I haven't found any on this trip lots of pieces [Music] that it's a big old barnacle we'll hang on to that it's kind of cool this is uh obviously pretty common but uncommon for me a little slipper shell I usually pick up anything that's not a clamshell or a muscle it's a little bit more interesting well it's our second-to-last day here and we've got our coffees bright and early where are we going today back one on Susan's house hour and a half north and bringing the metal detector just in case it's raining but we'll see she's got an old old yard the excited kid bye-bye home [Music] I will we've arrived and there's a ton of property here they used to be an old farm the building that aunt Suzie currently lives in is a newer home I found a buggy break in the past here an old token see what else we can find [Music] all right well we've got our first little find out here and it is a little find it's a little key it's hard to Oh Black & Decker there it is it's probably a padlock not very old but uh I'll take what I can get on this trip throw that the pocket keep looking and we've got key number two this one's on a little ring but this appears to be more of a house key made in a USA yeah not old but still a key there we go two keys let's keep going just an observation I just dug a shotgun shell headstamp you know the the brass or steel end of a shotgun shell in a yard and I grew up in a home that was not very old my father built it in the 70s and when I first arted getting into metal detecting I was metal detecting in the backyard and I was finding a ton of 30.6 brass and bullets which didn't make any sense nobody would be shooting even though I did kind of live out in the boonies nobody was shooting in the backyard like that and what happened was at least around here might not be the same with all states countries gravel pits you know where trucks come and take gravel or a really popular place for people to go and shoot and what was happening is people were shooting into the banks dropping their brass and then the loader would come scoop all that stuff up and they'd bring it to people's homes to fill up until foundation walls and stuff and that's what I was finding my backyard but that's not the case here so what that tells me is that that shotgun shell hole shotgun shell head stamp was here from when this was all grown up maybe it was a field and there active hunters out here which is good news an opportunity to find older stuff we have a visitor do you want to help what are you eating a cookie all right kiddo dad is gonna keep looking for treasures another thing we found a whole lot about here are those little wild strawberries they're everywhere here's one they taste just as good as the big ones just got to eat a lot of them alright let's keep going chicken well the last time I was here probably the find of the day was this old General Motors token and I just got another high tone sound like a copper if I was back home I don't think we're gonna find anything like that here but I just did that and check it out it's another coin I have a feeling it's another token let's clean it off together since dodge truck features save you money let's decide to click like it's pretty bent up dodge truck for good luck gives you more high priced features than any other low-priced truck that's pretty cool a little token kind of General Motors token and I find a Dodge token looks like it probably got hit by a lawnmower years ago if I remember correctly the last one was from the 1950s I'll assume this is also pretty cool [Music] [Music] [Music] down here in these cliffs [Music] and the constant you know turbulence all of these little stones and covers are all super smooth sulfur worship Creek I know it was called lappa lapidarist that almost looks like a tiger sides not looks like it is [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] alright last day on the Sea coast of Maine packing it up headed back to the mountains later today it was an amazing trip we were here all week it's a well needed rest and the fines were pretty interesting too you know down in the wet sand is where I want to be but my machine keeps me up here in the dry sand and we found a couple bucks and change and that little necklace which may or may not be silver we'll see I'll test it when we get home and Susie's house we we've got a couple keys and another couple of bucks and change and now that really cool advertising token which she was very excited about she's gonna keep that and then we found a bunch of shells out on the low tide flats down there that we're gonna commonly display in our bathroom next week we'll be back up in the mountains and I have a few kind of different adventures planned which I'm pretty excited about so thanks again for watching I'm gonna continue watching the Sun come up [Music] [Applause] [Music]
