[Music] [Music] [Applause] folks there's a lot of stories all over the world of during wartime the opposing armies treasure wealth coins gold coins was stolen and then transported and then for some reason it needed to be stashed and the exact location was forgotten it was never retrieved the part of Vermont that I'm in today has one of those stories from the Revolutionary War depending on who you talked to it's different British coins Spanish coins gold silver guns cannons all different types of things I was contacted by the landowner of the property that amount today and he's pretty sure the treasures on his lands several landowners have told me about grandpa's old jar of gold coins is out by the Stonewall somewhere and nobody ever found it have yet to find anything like that but seems like everybody has one of those stories but nevertheless he set up on this piece of property there's a bunch of stone walls which to me hopefully means there's a home site so I'm out here today looking for that and if we happen to find some treasure chests of British gold coins then so be it I'm starting to see some bigger trees and some signs that would lead me to believe that we're getting close hopefully we are I just popped out of all that super thick brush it was hard walking but it was it was worth they check this out that is a purposefully stacked stone wall in my experience stone walls out here in the woods come in two varieties that kind somebody took care to put stone on top of stone and then the kind that you may find along the edge of old fields where they would just throw them in a pile to get them out of the field tells me that uh it's probably a home somewhere near we're gonna follow this listen maybe pick by something [Music] all right on a little babbling brook over there I took that as a sign and started wandering around the brook it's a stone wall right there and there is a home site here it's very shallow it might even be a barn I'm not sure yet take my machine out of my bag see if we can find out how old it is let's see if we can find some lost Revolutionary War treasure chests all right well that didn't take very long I've been swiping around for approximately 30 seconds a bitly didn't really walk anywhere drop the coil and my first target my first find is the fork from a colonial-era shoe buckle that's exactly what that is I don't know where the rest of the shoe buckle went but very exciting not necessarily the relic itself but the possibilities it opens up for what else we might find here all right I am excited let's not waste any time this is just a 75 but we're gonna film it anyways just in case it's in the clump bring your camera closer here oops over here now oh no look at that dad is awesome look it's a little knee buckle you can still see the pieces intact here looks like they're ironed though so probably gonna be quite fragile OOP it goes the mud look at that the head is beautiful see if we can very carefully pick out all the mud here with a toothbrush so as I suspected the inner workings here is all iron and it didn't fare as well in the ground as the brass did but you can see there's just a pretty little line pattern and we're missing one of the teeth on this but this part is still intact for the most part from a fashion style long gone beautiful alright well see what else we can find here my heart pumping a little bit let's see we could find here some yes there's always a moment when you find something when it's like is it a button is it a coin I don't see a shank that always doesn't always mean anything let me get brushing clean it off see if maybe we can get some get some detail yes I've never seen this before there's a crust on the coin and just in the bottom left you can see that there's the shoulder armor of george ii or if this is a connecticut copper a man who's supposed to not be george ii but look like him but regardless whatever it is it's a very old coin you know late 1700s maybe maybe if it's a george ii a little bit earlier but awesome let's we're gonna keep going and see what else we can find but I'm happy with that already beautiful there is everybody sick of seeing mushrooms yeah can't help it I'm walking around metal detecting looking at the ground for hours it's everywhere I wanted to point out a couple of these because I think just right here in this little patch we've got these little red ones which I'm sure will kill you if you eat them this really crazy stuff which looks like coral which I'm sure will also kill you if you eat it these little guys right here we have some other stuff really weird also looks like coral kinda more just right here there's like four or five different varieties I haven't found any of the hen of the woods today I was just talking with a buddy who actually works at a restaurant I've heard rumors that you can sell some of these mushrooms to restaurants not thinking really can you walk into just to any restaurant say here will you buy this stuff I picked out of the woods but he says yeah they do they they buy morels and hen of the woods or chicken of the woods I had no idea I mean people say it but I didn't think it was true so I might have to start thinking about bringing a grocery bag or a garbage bag or something out with me so I can pack that stuff out anyway we're gonna keep keep detecting see if you can find some metal instead of mushrooms all right well I've got somewhat of a little mystery item here I thought I knew what it was and then I changed my mind I'll see what you guys think as soon as it came out of the hole I suspected that this was piece of a codel bell cord Oh bells little you know jingle bell it's got holes on the top of it and everything and then the more I started looking at it I realized there should be a big hole around here somewhere this is a pretty big chunk of it I thought maybe that was one of the holes but it'd be awful small and it appears to have a seam running this way where it broke I don't know I'm gonna I'm gonna call it a croto Bell piece fragment here but I look forward to hearing what everybody else thinks I don't know we're throw-in the bag called a proto Bell pretty cool all right we got more buckles that's awesome this is a another piece of a shoe buckle on a roll today with buckles this is crazy I'd love to find a frame wonder what all these pieces are doing out here maybe this was a you know what they call it the cobbler what they call shoemaker right Comley really really cool throw on the bag keep going all right well maybe you can see how how big the hole is here I was chasing this target around for I don't know a few minutes I mean it is just an amazing pewter button shank is intact holy smokes look at that thing let me give it a little brush here that thing is awesome it's definitely pewter but it looks like it has a lot of the silver wash still intact I don't know if there's any significance to this symbol or not or if it's just a flower but if I find out you'll be the first to know real thick casting line on the back all right we're gonna pack this one tight so it doesn't lose its shank and travel incredible so I detected that homesite for a while and I'm gonna go back but you know just to case the treasure story has just a little bit of truth to it I'm gonna metal detect along this stone wall here because that's where it always is in the stories is the longest stone wall I know you see things like this you know this nicely cut quartz look at that it seems like the perfect place to hide treasure so we're gonna tech along here when we inevitably don't find anything we'll head back to the home site [Music] nothing not even a nail usually get long stone walls you find ox knobs and you know horseshoes and stuff but pretty quiet out here we're gonna head back to the home sign now and see if we can find some more of those buckles and buttons household stuff all right well I whenever I find something right retrieve whatever was in the hole I'll put the plug back in I'll do a reenactment here I'll put the plug back in and I'll usually try to make it look real nice even out here in the woods you know and then I'll come around and I'll swipe and it's like oh I I got a nice target here and I looked I was like wait this was already a hole of mine I pulled the plug out I didn't even need to shovel I just stuck my pinpointer in there and look another coin I don't remember what was in here I think it was the other coin so we got a spill today not all at once but uh a small two coin spill although I don't know maybe there's more in there let's to check right now well we'll check with the metal detector before we're done here but this coin I don't know it's looking pretty good let's get it cleaned off I don't know all the sides pretty smooth but this side yeah look there's a two george ii british cop or british half penny beautiful it's not expecting that I'm gonna check this with a metal detector and if there's more in there you'll know then it's not we're gonna we're gonna move on all right I I don't know what's going on there seems to be a couple more targets around here and I don't know we'll see what we're gonna dig this and see what it is whatever it is it's in my hand what do you think could it be another coin three coins out of this hole look oh my god it is unbelievable three colonial coins in one whoa it just cleaned up so good with that one wipe holy smokes three colonial coins all in one little spot all right let's see let's get up close and show you all right you ready Wow holy that is an incredible condition see that it's a Connecticut copper that's amazing absolutely beautiful all right well I'm afraid to recheck this area we found three here now all right well uh let me reach AK another get back okay so I did get a really crunchy target here and I'm seeing pottery and we got this which is a buckle of some kind and we did get another coin out of here and there's still more stuff down in there don't know piece of iron all right so there's nails might just be chasing nails right now yeah there's another nail I'm gonna move the camera back check the hole of the metal detector see if there's any more high tones and then we'll look at our new coin alright that was it from there let's take a look at this buckle it's got a little flower around there it's just a fragment obviously but that's definitely a shoe buckle it's got a curved beautiful alright and the coin well before we get to the coin we have this don't know piece of iron and I'm throw-in the bag though just in case it's uh it's like the key to King Tut's tomb or something and here's the other coin and god I'm looking at it I think that this one is in really good condition - alright well it is a it is a George coin and the back is in just as good a condition as the other one for colonial coins all out of one hole this is uh it's a I don't want to say it's unheard of this doesn't happen this would have been a lot of money back then - all fall out of their pocket at once unless it was in that that teacup container the glass one and I got broken in the ground I mean they weren't all together though I don't I'll show you it was some here and there was there was the one that just came out of here incredible I'm speechless we're gonna look around a little bit more we're gonna add this and a little buckle to our collection today [Music] I don't know what what do you think is that the treasure I don't know probably not but it's fun to use your imagination I think maybe that's part of it probably not probably just coincidence I checked this area very very well after I last turned off the camera this whole immediate vicinity there's no more probably worth coming back another time I probably tell this to the landowner and he'll run out and buy his own metal detector no doubt but we're gonna walk aways I already packed up all my stuff to find a place to sit down and rest string some water and set out all the stuff we found today and see what we got [Music] all right take a look at all this stuff insane what do we have for buckles here we have these may or may not go to the same they're the right size I don't know could be for a little knee buckle and we have our beautiful silver gilt little shoe buckle frame I actually found a second one of these super pretty pewter buttons the shank is unfortunately missing on that one but still a little little matched pair there our mystery piece of Tom Bakk I'm not sure back here I guess you can't really see it i bunch have a bunch of iron stuff I'm taking this nail because I think it's I think it's interesting we have King Tut's tomb key back here and I guess I could put this out here this is just another button thing discussion maybe I don't know and lastly our coins so I took a break and I drank some water and I was kind of cleaning them off a little bit better we definitely have a Connecticut we definitely have a george ii british Halfpenny this one which was really really smooth I'm thinking now it might even be a Hibernia which is an Irish it's just very very similar to the British ones but there's just a different design on the back and then this one on the end that one it's very very crusted I'm gonna deal with that one at home I don't I don't want to mess with it out here but it's also most likely either British or a colonial state coin so I am very excited to report back to the landowner show them all of this stuff and it's gonna make his mind race I'm sure check how all these coins I found oh my it's a treasure I don't know maybe the treasure myth might not even be real but to me today we're gonna say that that's part of it super cool so anyway I hope I hope you had fun watching I had an amazing time out here I can't wait till the leaves turn a little bit more red well I can't wait because that means it's a turn shoveling snow thanks for watching [Music] you
