Toyota Tacoma Interior Mods / Accessories. Start Here^^^

welcome everybody kelly here from kb auto tech and adventure and today i got my 2020 tacoma here in the shop and i'm going to show you some very simple mods accessories that we can do for the interior of your truck so stay tuned [Applause] [Music] so first thing is some all-weather floor mats you can already see how much dirt these are collecting they hold water snow mud everything you know that you would want it to keep it out of your floors you can just remove them real quick pull them out and you know easy to clean it doesn't really matter what brand you like uh you know it's no big deal to me whether you like husky liners or weathertech it doesn't really matter just get yourself a set of all-weather mats you know you won't regret it all right so we're off to the inside here one of the next things that we most definitely want to do that's really simple and inexpensive is changing out all your dome lights so i have these ones here basically uh these little replacements these are miso customs i ended up by grabbing them from tacoma lifestyle and we're going to remove these ones right here so these are the ones that pop in and out you can just turn them on and off you can see basically even here in the camera how you know yellow those do look so let's go ahead and let's just quickly swap these out so i have myself just a little screwdriver and i do have myself a pair of pliers to try to get the ball boat so i'm just going to turn this one off right on the basically on the middle oh turn it on you can use the screwdriver here and just pop the cover off there we go so this is the factory cover this is what it looks like here and basically what i've gone ahead and done let's see is just use the screwdriver just to pop that out right there and then we have the bulb inside you can see it it's probably hot because i had it on try to see if i can grab with my fingertips usually you can't really grab them like that so what i'll usually do is grab a pair of pliers i'm going to be very careful not to break the bulb you don't want to squeeze it too hard kind of round so it's kind of tough to grab onto there we go and this is just a little 194 peanut bulb so on the back these look basically the same as the other ones it has the two tabs here and the one lock here and this is where the bulb goes in so we're gonna wanna well i guess i need a little bit of a light would help it's kind of dark i can't really see up in there but i think it goes like this all right so we plug the wire in slip the one side in all right good to know these do have a left and a right i didn't even realize that the tabs are on one side so i will switch that out and we'll put the proper side in there put the right tab in click that guy on there and hopefully you can see that on the camera but i mean this is impressively more bright and the color of the light is very different compared to this one so hopefully you can pick that up on the camera i mean this is very yellow and dull super white super bright so it's going to make such a big difference here you know on dark driveway or when you're off-road or whatever it is so let's get that other one done move on to something else now we're in the back seat and we're going to also do this rear light pretty simple to take off need a little screwdriver as well and we'll pop the cover off essentially right on this portion right here just put the screwdriver in there and flick it off then we have one bulb in here and we can use the screwdriver and just essentially just popped the ball boat and dropped it on the ground there no big deal we'll get that back and what i have here in my pocket is an led replacement um i got that same thing i got that off tacoma lifestyle as well this one's a little bit trickier to get in takes a little bit of messing about kind of kind of gotta fiddle with it for a second but uh once it's in there it is nice if you install it and it doesn't seem to work just flip it 180 that's all that that matters there you can probably just test it yeah perfect i got it the right way right off the bat let's just try and get it into position here make sure it's in properly and it's not going to fall out on you so you don't got to mess with it later and there we go nice and bright there you go nice and bright nice and white something that you can do pretty inexpensive so grab yourself some led bulbs and swap those out so let's move on to something else now here's something that we can all use and this is this glove box divider i got this one here from joytutis or joytetus tethers i'll put a link in the description there as well uh you know it wasn't very expensive i think it was a great little unit it was very simple to install basically just click that one piece on there you can adjust it left or right whichever way owner's manual still fits you can put some more stuff down here more stuff down here so basically just makes the glove box just a lot more useful now here's a really small accessory that really helps out as well i got this coin box holder here this is pretty much a useless spot uh i mean i'm sure you could find something to put in there but these little boxes here i got this from tacoma lifestyle as well super handy it's got the little trd sticker on there a little magnetic holder you know put your change put whatever you want in there basically makes that spot just a little bit more useful speaking of being more handy like the glove box holder one thing that i most definitely would have liked to get my hands on which i haven't quite been able to find yet is a center console organizer obviously this is just one big giant hole i know they make the nice little trays and dividers here's one that's going to be on my list i need this now depending on if you have wireless charging in your truck this may or may not apply to you um i do happen to have wireless charging so you know this one's not going to work for me in this truck i'm plan on using it actually in my third gen 4runner but if you don't have wireless charging here's a phone charger here we got from joyta test as well i think it's a great little unit so it has a adjuster on the back you can put it basically on the fan has a quick little knob there and a clamp very simple to mount the wires right here it has auto sensing so you can basically just put your phone up to it and oops got my phone upside down and it'll grab on to it and basically the wireless charging is up and running as well so all in all pretty straightforward to use and uh we'll have to give that a test i think it looks pretty good so far it's in a pretty good position too i don't think it's really going to hit anything i mean it's close i don't mind it where it is and i think it looks pretty good so anyways something that uh you know you're gonna obviously if you don't have wireless charging something that comes in really handy is a wireless phone charger so when you want to release the phone it's pretty simple all you do is just slide your finger back there and pull it on out and there you go phone comes right out and then the next time you're ready to jump in just go ahead and it'll know when you're there and it'll put the phone right in there and grab onto it well and as a bonus i'll give you one more here but unlike the other ones this one is completely useless if you didn't guess it already it is a tough skins gas cap holder this really serves no purpose other than just trying to look cool or have fun essentially it's pretty much useless of course any truck owner of these tacomas would know that we can just hang it off there that's what i did with my second gen for five plus years i never had anything on there and that works perfectly fine but we're gonna be ultra cool here and we're gonna go with this tough skins one here so really simple install as well we have a phillips screw here we'll go ahead and remove that i've gone ahead and prepped this little bit of surface has a tape right here we'll pull that off get it into position where we like it maybe give that a little press probably do it again here as well a little bit more firm and let's put this screw back in all right make sure that's snug down give this guy a nice firm press along there and there we have it pretty much pointless but hey it is what it is man we're just trying to have fun so there we go yeah it's from topskins and we got this from tacoma lifestyle as well so there you have it some very simple you know accessories that you can do for the inside of your truck none of those are terribly expensive obviously the floor mats being the most but beyond that the others are you know quite cheap so anyways i hope you enjoyed the video uh grab yourself
