The Best Interior MODS For The Toyota Tacoma

hey everybody and welcome back today we're going to be covering my seven favorite mods that i've made to the interior of my toyota tacoma stay tuned [Music] in no particular order first up is the aux beam switch panel it's really affordable and it's a great solution to run all of your off-road lighting accessories whatnot i've got my light bar my dish lights and my chase lights hooked up to it now and i've got some plans for the future if you guys can see um i've already got some plans for what i'm going to use these other switches for now what's really great about it is it allows you to have everything hooked up to just one switch panel and really simplifies your wiring and installation everything gets hooked up to one location so you only have one wire going inside the cap of the truck and you're not dealing with all this messy wiring and relays so this is the control box to the switch panel all the wiring goes in there and you've got your different fuses and then i've got a circuit breaker that it's connected to right here and then it's connected to the battery all right next up is this scosche wireless phone charger now this is made specifically for the second gen tacoma uh it's right in the same spot the factory third gen tacoma would be in the installation is real simple it just fits perfectly right in this little cubby right here and then it actually draws power from the back of one of these cigarette lighters like i said the installation is really easy now i've got an iphone 12 pro max and that actually fits pretty nicely in there nice and snug so there you go nice little mod just uh nice to have that wireless phone charging capability so next up is having a good head unit now there's some good and there's some bad about this one i actually just recently did a full six month review on this au car 12 inch screen head unit that is also made specifically for the second gen toyota tacoma there's a lot that i love about it the big screen the apple car play being able to download any app you want from the google play store is really nice but like i said there's some good and there's some bad ones about it about this but having a great head unit just the second gen toyota tacoma comes with a really outdated head unit so upgrading to something that runs apple carplay maybe has a bigger interface can be a really good upgrade as well make sure you check out the video that i have on this for a little bit more because there's some cool stuff coming from this in the future so check that out next up is this off roam phone mount now this thing is super cool once again there's kind of a theme that you can kind of get from this video designed specifically for the second gen toyota tacoma no drilling uh attaches with a um allen wrench to the corners of the ac vents here and it's a 20 millimeter uh ball connection system so kind of like the round mount system but just with a mount plate that is designed specifically for the second gen tacoma so what i really like about this is not only is it made specifically for the second gen tacoma but it's super clean it's super sturdy and it's really nice to have like my navigation right here if i need it and so that's been pretty awesome it also is nice because it's it is acts as a system so just like the 67 designs of the ram mount system it's very customizable and you can add different accessories which brings me to my next one now if you're like me and maybe you're doing some camping or some off-roading and while you're on the trail you want to have access to your comms um this little radio mount that i got from bullet point mounting solutions has been really nice it integrates really well it works with that same mounting base that i'm using from off roam and uh the same 20 millimeter uh ball arm that just connects so obviously this is adjustable just use that little um lever right there to loosen it up and you can just adjust it however you want it this is how i like it and i'm on the trail i've got my radio right there really nice to have access to the comms like that next up is this led lighting i ordered these from just tacomabeast.com i've actually had these for several years now so you can find those in the video link description but it's just so much better so much brighter than the oem yellow dull bulbs that the tacoma comes with so i've got these two map lights and then i also got the dome light up here too right next up i've got this uh tacoma attic from blue ridge overland gear this is just a nice little storage space for some soft goods what i typically keep up there and is up there right now are these spare blankets um these are great um for when my wife or my daughter with me on a camping trip uh they can get a little warmer by the campfire with these guys or maybe just when we're out and about i always have these things with me sometimes i also can store like sweatshirts or jackets up here just kind of depending on the type of trip that i'm on but this is a nice little um addition also once again made specifically for the tacoma on their website it says it's made specifically for the third gen tacoma but the mounting is pretty much exactly the same and works great so i really like this one as well now pardon the dirtiness um we just were on a camping trip and to be honest with you i don't even clean them that much but a good set of floor mats these tacoma mats these ones are actually the original um oem tacoma mats that i just purchased secondhand i don't have carpet in my truck but still like having floor mats and these ones just gripped better than some of the other ones out there on my old 2008 tacoma i had the husky floor liners and that's actually still what i'm using in the rear here and these things are like bomb proof i absolutely love them if i still had carpet up front this is exactly what i'd be running in the front as well but um this is just one giant one that covers the whole entire rear side of the truck and once again part of the mess just got back from a camping trip haven't even unpacked yet so you'll be able to find links to all the products i talked about today in the video description some
