Toro lawnmower stopped working while running. Starts and dies. Hit something hard while mowing.

what's up guys and thank you for stopping by my channel and the project for today is this Toro lawn mower the problem with this mower is that it was cutting grass and then it stopped and now it tries to run but only dies it is possible that trash from the fuel tank has moved into the carburetor from you clogged the jet let's go ahead and get to the carburetor and remove the jet and see if it's clogged [Music] [Applause] [Music] and unfortunately this isn't good news the jet is already clear there must be something else wrong let's go ahead and go underneath the deck and check out the blade and by the looks of it you probably should have done it first and just check out that gouge and nut blade this thing hits something really hard [Music] let's go ahead and remove the plastic cover and the recoil assembly to get down to the flywheel bolt and key [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] and as you can see the flywheel key is sheared about half way it's just enough to let the motor start but too much to let it run use a screwdriver and a hammer to help remove the flywheel from the crank [Music] [Music] now realign the flywheel and insert a new key new key can be found at your local lawn and garden store or any online store for a few dollars now reinstall everything and try to start the mower [Music] [Music] thanks for watching home garage and if you would please subscribe like and comment down below and if you would please check out my other videos have a good one guys and I'll see you in my next video
