Too Sketchy For A Van On This Trail!

so we got a call for a sprinter van that is stuck on the honeymoon trail near the top I don't know why there's a sprinter van on the honeymoon Trail but we're gonna go see if we can get it out of there it's a beautiful Saturday afternoon about 90 degrees we'll get them out [Music] it's been a while since I've been on the honeymoon Trail and my question is is why is there a sprinter van on the honeymoon Trail so this is a pretty rugged Trail we've rescued Jeeps on this Trail side by sides on this Trail off-road capable rigs let's Sprinter van doesn't sound like it should be on there at all but we'll go look at it I'm just hoping it's not at the scary part I think that's where he's at yeah well you get to drive it out then I'm gonna drive it out I'm pretty sure [Music] we're going way up there he's up there somewhere I'm starting to wonder if they're coming down there's no way they would up this if that's the case are you still gonna just drive him straight out the bottom you'll turn them around not a sprinter van we'll go we'll turn it around and go back up [Music] so a few videos back I mentioned that the Arizona strip was one of the roughest places in the lower 48 and then I said I've said that before and people from different countries didn't understand what the lower 48 was and then I looked at my crew and they were all just silent oh somebody asked me what the lower 48 means because they were from like New Zealand or something nobody knows so I said nobody knows and then it was over so we got a lot of comments on that video that they don't understand how I couldn't know what the lower 48 was and my answer to that is I I don't know you got a question for me no questions no questions no proven questions we do get a lot of questions about why some people are on some jobs and other people aren't on on other jobs and the answer to that I've answered this before and I'll answer it again we are a 24-hour off-road recovery service and towing service so not every single person can be on every single job that comes in because their people take time off everybody takes time off but math guilty as charged yes I know we haven't hooked up the sensors for the oil temperature or the trans temperature they're probably okay probably [Music] I also get a lot of questions about rattlesnakes do we ever see rattlesnakes yes we see rattlesnakes am I scared my dogs are gonna get bit by a rattlesnake um no I'm not scared my dogs are gonna get bit by a rattlesnake they were raised out here around rattlesnakes they're kind of ranch dogs Farm dogs off-road recovery dogs and they are skilled in the avoidance of dangerous desert reptiles order right I think they're on the upper side of this I'm gonna have to lock my Hubs yeah I was wondering that all right I'm locking in my Hubs here I don't really need it for traction but I do want it for control because this place up here is kind of off camber and sketchy be nice to have all four wheels doing the same thing we've got some kids tubing down the river Jamie's got to go pick him up so we gotta hurry and get this done oh my goodness I don't drive it it's right there we'll just keep going up I don't think turning it around is an option so tell me how this is set up drive-wise so it's all-wheel drive uh 50 front 50 back it's got a non-walkable center depth yes I tried to come up this side just didn't have enough power I was sliding we tried to like put rocks up on the right side to keep keep it level but we got to about where you are and it just started going side to side I got about four hours of off-road driving under my belt there you go oh in your driver tire just so you know yes I am way okay I want my front wheel right here [Music] does that make sense yeah I'm gonna drive right up this channel right up here okay it looks sketchy but it's not so this just keeps going into a mode where it won't let me fuel so everybody's like go go go you're good you're going my foot's to the floor this is not going it's just a jump [Music] jump okay too bad [Music] I'll miss all the other Wheels Are Climbing up maybe it'll do it [Music] [Applause] all right we're just going to keep moving this out of here my plan is just to get you up to the top Yep this is a little sketchy [Music] so let me show you how capable Vehicles get in trouble here so [Music] it's basically it's just stacked gravel and so if you hook your wheel too far to the right and you get it off of there you're done you'll end up down here and you've got to have a pretty strong Constitution and a good rig to drive it out of there once you're down there I'm just trying to stay up here high enough that we don't Slough off this Edge but not so high that we're hitting these kind of obstacles right here that's going to put us really really really close right there so I know from the camera this doesn't look so steep but I'm a drama queen so just humor me I don't know what's going on down there we're just gonna keep going though with no spotter except for peanut peanut you want to spot me [Music] I don't like how much time this spins with one of the tires off the ground let's look and see how we're doing over here [Music] lots of room on the right plenty of room [Music] when I'm trying to get it to do something then I'll then the computer's like you know what let's not do it and it just cuts so you keep wincing Wheels it scares me out here yeah it's a little nerve-wracking it doesn't feel very stable it'll feel a lot better if the gas pedal would do its job rev the engine anything about the gas pedal is it's not even consistent so sometimes it cuts out and sometimes it doesn't so I don't know what it's going to do so when I need to commit to a climb I don't know if the gas pedal is coming with me or not [Music] come on that's how we left off the gas is that the car looks like it's my first day driving a clutch it's an automatic and there it is nothing [Music] sensors in this Shake side to side okay let's try on the other did you get the toothbrush and we are out of here I don't think there's been anything this unsuited for this Trail to ever go up it okay sir I will wear this wear it with pride with pride but I aired down [Music] yeah wow I can't believe you did that you have way more nerves than I do that was so frustrating just to want some fuel and it was like no nope no feel for you feels like The Soup Nazi from Seinfeld I didn't get any bread just forget it Let It Go excuse me I I think you forgot my bread nothing for you all I wanted was some bread no soup for you well you were on a in a top heavy vehicle what an angle the entire time and you lifted a tire a lot now this look at this road is sketchy in the banana like bananas right now really really good at this and it's a little nerve-wracking to drive on this somebody's gonna have to change my mind that was the least capable vehicle to ever go all the way from the bottom to the top of the honeymoon Trail if anybody knows of anything leave it in the comments we were surprised that he was headed up weren't we nerves of Steel courageous on cheap lazy and I'm a pansy you did awesome well now that we got that done we're just gonna head on back down the trail back to what we were doing so we got a call for one of our favorite tour groups down here in southern Utah take a wild guess on who you think they are supposedly they broke a ball joint or a half shaft or something so we're gonna go Scout it out and see what it'll take to get them out of there it's probably about low 80s right now and it's really windy like the first wind storm we've got all year Matt's in the middle of working on one of his new corvairs he's got the bug the Corvair bug big time right now I don't blame them they're pretty sweet all right shafts out the upper ball joint okay you guys want to Pile in with me I'll stay here okay we won't be able to fix that that ain't good tomorrow me and Jefe yesterday went and looked at this Hummer and we're on it again but this time it's me and Jake Homer time so the weather today is rainy there it is there she be ah it looks familiar before we start pulling this apart I'm gonna make sure we have the right keys because that would be bad if we don't let's see if this is the right key perfect I've heard some magic on this [Music] retina I got the wheel taken off or retinid and now we're gonna see what the damage is and there she is sheared right off we're gonna replace that we had we brought another one just in case the lower one was bad and it looks like it's pretty decent so we're going to keep that on but we're gonna repair this slap it in and drive her out [Music] this thing's all sorts of mangled that's the difference between these two yeah that's that's uh not doing too well we brought a lot of tools but we did not bring pliers so getting this uh cotter pin off is a little bit of a struggle so we're gonna have to improvise Maybe it's not sketchy at all let's see what else we got here that we can use and wait I think I have something the banana oh those are perfect good job Brett [Music] pretty sure I was just pulling back this way and I was uh out this is not normal it's weird That's What It Is Well we probably could have done this a lot faster if we brought the right tools out but that's no fun [Music] didn't break [Music] if this breaks there choke there's a throttle lock hmm nothing okay so we got this thing fixed it won't start we called my dad and he said we'll leave it and let them come get it so we stashed the key on it and we're leaving it now if we add a little can of some starting fluids Miser or something probably could have gave it a few Spritz and got down the trail but this job is over thanks for watching thanks
