I think his initial blunders are authentic. But the marketing team just rolled with it and probably gave him a list of things that he can "spoil" in the subsequent ones.

I’m actually not so sure it’s all marketing, maybe half-and-half. Because when I saw the first infinity war at the Arclight when it first came out, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Holland came out to introduce the movie and Tom Holland yells “hey guys, I’m actually alive!”, and Cumberbatch lost his shit
