hi and welcome back to me talking about whatever i want today i want to talk about the courtney stodden situation how chrissy teigen is involved and why it all just makes me want to move to mars i didn't even know that this courtney stodden situation had happened until chrissy teigen wound up apologizing and it just all turns out to be so much darker and more serious than it seems at the surface and it's one of the very few video topics i've ever covered that has genuinely shocked me so we're going to talk about that but before we get into the very heavy stuff let's get into something lighter first of all like the comments shout out from my last video i would say can we appreciate d'angelo's outfit for a second but no we should appreciate them forever i think this is an excellent comment because now that i've worked a cosplay budget into my streaming budget at the ire of my manager and the irs i think the outfits are about to get a lot more iconic so the first person involved in this is chrissy teigen i'm sure most of y'all know who she is so she's most known for being john legend's wife and tweeting a lot and i'm sure there's other things that she's known for as well the other person we're talking about in this situation is named courtney stodden so courtney was a television personality that rose to prominence in the early 2010s over something that should never have happened to them and courtney is non-binary and they use they them pronouns so that's what we're going to be using the conflict here is that courtney recently came forward in an interview and they released a lot of huge information including things that made christie tegan look pretty darn bad so we're going to get into all of that but first we're going to get into today's sponsor today's video is sponsored by simply safe simply safe is a home security system you can keep your home safe without all the nonsense like contracts or hidden costs literally just order online and they'll deliver you a device which you can set up yourself in like less than an hour simply safe has 24 7 monitoring they can call the police for you something's not right they've got all kinds of sensors to make sure that nothing strange goes unnoticed it's just a whole lot of features for about 50 cents a day it's pretty easy to see why us news and world report named them the best home security system of 2020. all of the safety none of the shady i feel like home security is just a given since you can get it for so cheap like honestly i would feel kind of weird if i didn't have it and if i was able to set it up you're you're definitely going to be fine this is not really my strong suit the home base is super simple the sensors actually work if you test them and it's nice knowing that simply safe is on call 24 7. so all i have to worry about is waking up and looking this good visit simplysafe.com d'angelo wallace to learn more today the thing i've just been kind of dancing around is courtney stunned and rose to prominence in 2011 because they got married to a 50 year old man at age 16. publicly this failed actor doug hutchinson was just going all over the news and um i'm gonna bring up a little news package about their situation from the time this is called hollywood's marriage shocker and it aired on abc news in 2011. a 16 year old bride may seem like something from another culture or century but did you know it is legal in 39 states parents giving their blessing to teens in love is one thing but the 16 year old bride you're about to meet is another because the inspiring starlet is married to a hollywood actor more than three times her age could their nuptials be a play for reality show style attention or is this a real love story all right do y'all already see a problem with this news story notice how courtney was the child in this situation and yet for some reason we're just talking about them making an action instead of today's stories about this disgusting 50 year old who married a 16 year old kid also the fact that this was legal in 30 states is um terrifying to say the least but you know that's fine that's fine am i your toy you're my little plastic toy your little plastic barbie doll meet hollywood's most controversial newlyweds doug hutchison is a 51 year old actor 51 apparently perhaps you remember him best as the abusive prison guard in the green mile okay i'm going to be honest with you i don't remember him as the abusive prison garden in the green mile in fact i'm going to go a step further and say i literally have no idea who this man is ah they got all the men they need and his wife courtney stoddard she's an aspiring singer and actress it's not my fault you can't control okay wait why does why does the music kind of bop a little bit i look i can't make the music not pop i can't make the music not pop shout out as told by kenya believe it or not the most stunning thing about courtney isn't her provocative appearance it's her birth certificate that's right this girl is 16 years old also using the word wife to refer to somebody who is 16 years old oh my gosh this is actually really hard to watch i love you no let me ask you courtney 16 years old why the rush to get married this world isn't gonna last forever and uh you know life's short if you're so confident and you know it's so right why not just wait um it's a good question these interviewers were on something they were wilding out they're sitting across from a 16 year old child and a 51 year old man who's married to a minor and their first thought is let's ask the child why this marriage took place their frontal lobe is not fully developed that's the part of the brain that says if i do this what will happen tomorrow the way they tell it doug and courtney's love story began when doug living in los angeles amidst the wreckage of two failed marriages and one serious drinking problem hit rock bottom hmm see this is getting a little scary a person who has two failed marriages is now moving on to a 16 year old you can't even argue that there's not a power imbalance here a massive power imbalance i got down on my knees and i said send me an angel please they say they met online and quickly developed an emotional connection at first doug says he had no idea she was just a teenager not the james charles defense there's just no way you can't suspect hey am i talking to a kid i feel i feel a little weird this is a very strange way for an adult to respond this might be a child that i'm talking to when you found out how did you feel well uh you can imagine i uh my world turned upside down because it didn't make me want to walk away but to be 50 and look at someone who's 16 as some sort of potential partner is disgusting it's just grooming there's there's no conversation to be had about different people immaturity levels and respecting other people's relationships it's just a child with an adult okay all the while courtney's mom krista had been monitoring their exchanges fully aware that doug had decades over her young daughter all right so the mom is disgusting because just so you know a 16 year old the only way it's legal in those 30 states they were talking about are if the parents sign off on it so you're starting to get a clearer picture of what happened here right and i said if you are uncomfortable with it i will respect you and courtney will respect you and we will step back oh that's so slimy he's like hey i'm dating your child if that's a problem let me know lol there is a joke 16 will get you 20. 16 will get you 20 if you are doing something illegally you can literally just tell he's the kind of person who has the age of consent memorized in every single state so on the day they finally met in person doug proposed and shortly after courtney was walked down the aisle at a las vegas chapel by her father their father and their mother both just signed away their actual child like that we have to move on you look into each other's eyes and speak those vows and it's just like your world changes courtney couldn't legally drink champagne after the service but she was free to consummate the relationship oh my gosh this is just disgusting this is disgusting how could you say that word like say that line out loud and not rethink your entire job when i married him she was saving her i knew that if i kept that i would really be blessed with a beautiful gift and uh god did he bless me with my soulmate i'm really thankful for that they were literally brainwashed which is unfortunately not uncommon to do in terms of extreme power imbalances in relationships at the end of the day an adolescent brain is still an adolescent brain and it's lacking in judgment and evaluations about consequence what age is too young to get married what's too young is against the law that just that that made me think like oh this is not the only thing this person has done not even close this was not the first time he's done this and this there's no way that this is the youngest person either what we've done we've done nothing illegally immorally maybe not but plenty of people find it unacceptable courtney's parents have received death threats doug's manager has dropped him his mother cut him off and the newlyweds could spend hours every day reading their own hate mail this girl is too young and to me this is abuse to me this is abuse it's just abuse buddy it's fully just abuse you're a [ __ ] go kill yourself yes of course let's give hate to the 16 year old in this situation because that makes sense a lot of people online say you're a pervert what do you say to that i'm a pervert courtney is kind of iconic i'm not even gonna lie honestly same courtney same what do you have in common we laugh of course they also have a common interest in show business and in an era of low rent fame where controversy can be as marketable as actual talent it should come as no surprise that the couple is in fact considering offers from reality television producers this is just me speculating armchair psychology don't take any stock in it but don't you think it's weird how this is a failed actor who is now hooking up with the 16 year old marrying them even and now all of a sudden he has television offers again is this not starting to click into place y'all because this just seems so cut and dry to me it really seems so cut and dry there's no way to look at them and think that this is anything other than a child they're just so clearly a teenager what do you say to that to people who think this is all a publicity stunt we knew this was going to happen we knew we were going to have to weather the storm repercussions of our decision and this is just the beginning and it brought us closer get away from them and also he's saying like we knew this was gonna happen but i'm gonna be honest you know what he knew that courtney was gonna get all the backlash for this and he was gonna get away with it because he didn't violate any laws i think marrying doug will help your career if it does you know that's just another beautiful blessing that happens to me if i'm just with him for the rest of my life and supporting him that would make me happy too i feel like we need to regroup a little bit before we move on to the next video this was on national tv i just really need y'all to understand even though i don't remember this i didn't really hear of this at the time national television incident 50 year old marrying a 16 year old child and then the news interrogating them the child for some reason because that makes sense now i kind of want to show you how people were reacting to courtney's appearance into the public consciousness from my perspective i would think that the right response would just be absolutely eviscerating the dude in the situation right like hey you married a child we're just never gonna stop making fun of you and also we kind of hate you but nope the entire world was just basically like this is our chance to bully a 16 year old grooming victim and that's exactly what happened so keep in mind that they were 16 when they got married and they had just turned um 17 in this video so we're obviously not going to show this entire thing because it's it's literally it just sounds fake but long story short dr drew brought them onto the show along with a plastic surgeon and an x-ray team to poke around and figure out whether or not they had had any sort of cosmetic surgery this this was on national television they kept saying over and over no like these are real this is just how i look i didn't do anything and so at the end of it they finally come to the conclusion that they weren't lying which by the way why would it matter if they were lying in the first place this is a 16 year old that you're interrogating about their body but okay that's all normal yeah that's all normal tissue i see so i guess she was telling us the truth she doesn't look like she has an implant 2011. these are all real video clips none of this is fabricated like i really feel like i'm living in a fever dream we just watched a child get an exam on tv to make sure they didn't have cosmetic surgery that is so exploitative that i can't even begin to get into that another example i want to bring up is anderson cooper cnn used to have the segment or maybe they still do have it called the ridiculous where basically they would just pick like the weird thing of the week to talk oh my gosh it was exactly like my youtube channel okay so cnn used to copy me way back when even though i hadn't done it yet where every every so often they would just find the weird thing to talk about and for some reason they kept picking courtney stodden and um doug hutchinson but instead of criticizing doug hutchinson for marrying a child all the jokes were at courtney's expense who is this young lady who found true love with a character actor in his early 50s luckily like a lot of 16 year olds she has a youtube channel where she posts videos probably talks about her homework and getting her driver's license and justin bieber and stuff let's take a look everything about me is real my hair is real my teeth are real my eyelashes are real you know what else is real their love is real this is really weird for anderson cooper on national tv to do this whole bit repeatedly repeatedly at the expense of a 16 year old grooming victim guess what romance haters her parents gave their permission oh goodness yeah she's 16 kids today the wedding was on may 20th according to my calendar that was a friday so she probably only had to miss one day of high school and the verse is not funny i make first of all where is the funny okay but secondly this is just the weirdest possible thing to joke about they're not those uptight parents don't let their teenage daughter stay out past 11 or make music videos on boats don't put it on me he probably likes their song you can you can tell anderson cooper was bopping courtney's song and he was just mad stay mad forever the song slaps now a lot of people are suggesting that someone should have told courtney don't marry that guy remember do you understand now why i'm showing you these clips it would have been one thing if anderson cooper was just kind of making slightly off-colored jokes but these jokes are literally insinuating a mindset that is blaming courtney all of these every single one of these has been at their expense even down to him saying oh someone should have told them not to get married no someone should have told a 50 year old that you were grooming a child and don't marry them that's what should have happened this is so weird her age is only a number 51 just a number 16 just a much much much smaller number my breasts are real everything about me is bro it's as real as the reality show that courtney and doug are considering so he he did it he made the joke he literally went there and just basically speculated on national television that this child has had cosmetic enhancements and i'm not watching the rest of this we have this interview called the crucifixion of courtney stodden if you recall stodden first made headlines in 2011 when at the age of 16 they wed doug hutchinson a 50 year old acting coach best known for his sadistic prison guard turn in the green mile though under aids their mother signed off on it so they go into detail about what we kind of already looked at with the dr drew situation and anderson cooper and all of that but this is where things start getting super serious it says right here celebrities even urged courtney to kill themself so that's not something i was able to find at first because i didn't realize it was that serious but yeah courtney's about to go into detail about this and now in the wake of the documentary framing britney spears which captured the media's cool treatment of the pop superstar in the 2000s stalden's plight is worthy of similar cultural reassessment i get what they're saying now now that we've collectively realized oh hey we were insane back then it should have been recognizable at the time and i think most people did realize this was crazy thankfully the culture's a bit easier to come forward about these things now and not pretend like this was all normal so it took many years for stalin 26 to see themselves as a victim of hutchinson's predation after much soul searching and some shocking revelations concerning hutchinson they finally initiated divorce proceedings in 2018 and their divorce was finalized in march 2020. it was hard getting away but i got away stannin says holy crap okay so the only positive thing that has happened so far is that they finally realized they were a grooming victim a lot of times people never realize unfortunately i know people i've seen situations where just someone was groomed and brainwashed at a young age and they'll go their entire life just thinking that it was love like it's really messed up this is why this is illegal this is why this is immoral because you literally ruined children's perceptions and that and that carries over into their adulthood so it's really really really good that they were able to get out of this somehow during a recent zoom interview staudin opened up about the abuse they say occurred under hutcheson the way they were treated by the media and much more so they asked them what took so long to get the divorce finalized was he fighting you over money and they say it was a lot of things but mainly it was that i was still being groomed took me a really long time to understand what grooming even meant i didn't wake up to it until he ended up leaving michigan while i stayed in west hollywood i was over the relationship and wanted to move on but when he left i was terrified to be on my own i didn't know how to be on my own i still don't have a license i depended so much on him and he knew that so when he left it was almost a manipulative way of going okay let's see if you can survive without me here i just think this is one of the most important interviews that's come out recently it's really rare that specific abuse tactics like this get outlined usually when we hear abuse we just think like oh they're verbally abusive and they you know say all these nasty things but this can literally just be a form of abuse as well emotional abuse isolating someone and making sure that they don't have resources to take care of themselves and purposely putting them in situations where they feel like they need you even though they don't is extreme emotional abuse so they go on to say thankfully i have survived without them and i am still surviving without him even through the pandemic it took me a really really long time to understand what happened to me and i'm still going through the repercussions of being groomed and he knew that he had me where he wanted me because he's a master groomer a light bulb went off probably six months ago a stepmother 15 year old girl contacted me and told me that doug was grooming her they literally just confirmed my suspicion oh so he's a serial serial groomer even though i'm out of that relationship i still feel heavy i don't feel light i don't feel like things are so much better i hope that eventually i'll be able to find genuine happiness and shed the traumas of my past but i just feel very pessimistic i think they're going to be okay i really do because clearly courtney's doing the correct things to get out of the situation and take care of themselves first and make sure they're provided for the way that some people are excusing this is that they're saying this was quote unquote and i do quote normal for the time i just i want to emphasize with every fiber of my being that i was alive in 2011. this was not normal now when they say normal they're not talking about the 50 year old marrying the child obviously that was always a problem they're saying oh yeah it was normal because courtney was just a teenager and you know people hated teenagers back then or whatever this was just a thing people did no it wasn't stop literally get some help 2011 is a little bit too late for y'all to play that game where you just tried to convince all of us the people in my age range and below that this was a normal thing and nobody looked at this and said this was weird why was all of the media attention on courtney why was every single bit of media attention on them doug even now even now in this video i have had to make sure i continually inject the reality that we're talking about a 51 year old who married a child why do the predators and the groomers always fade into the distance into the background out of our memories in these situations and we always wind up like just focusing on the victims it's so weird during the interview in which courtney had come out about their experience they mentioned that several celebrities were bullying them and literally telling them like oh you should kill yourself etc things like that and they dropped names and one of them is chrissy teigen so obviously we don't have the dms where courtney alleged that chrissy was literally saying i can't wait for you to kill yourself but look at this look at these screenshots they're deleted now this is chrissy teigen saying my friday fantasy you dirt nap baby 2011 meaning courtney was still 16 years old so courtney had apparently posted something in 2011 on the 8th day of christmas my true love gave to me eight erotic elves and chrissy quote tweets this and says go to sleep forever literally imagine saying that to a child that's so weird plenty of other apparent tweets show chrissy bully and courtney asking about their drug use and taunting them about their family and then chris is like what drug makes you do that with your mouth asking for a friend who really wants to know how to look like an idiot at courtney stodden do you have a family okay i don't the context is not here but why are you adding a teenager on twitter and saying your butthole when this is a 16 year old just so we're on the same page here right chrissy teigen is currently 35 years old if she's 35 right now i'm sure some of you can do the math easier than i can she was 26. this was not some sort of oh she was so young oh my gosh you know she changed really she was older than me also it's really funny seeing chrissy teigen not being famous in 2011. you know what's crazy chrissy was just a hater she didn't have the john legend clout she was literally just clearly a random online internet bully oh my gosh at courtney stodden i hate you why do you speak like a fabio book what this is so weird this is so weird i also found and on twitter by trying to find more proof of the way chrissy was treating courtney look so this is from chrissy's little cooking blog or whatever to me corn and scallops go together like courtney stodden and brown urine i have no idea what that means but she looks like she would have stinky pee i don't like using this word i i'm not if i'm not a fan of using this word but it's giving me projection a little bit a little bit you kind of pulled that out of nowhere no one was talking about that so obviously this woman was caught in 4k they were like holy crap chrissy chicken you cannot just pretend like this is not real and also courtney had to ledge even though we don't have screenshots for that but christie never delight denied it that chrissy teigen had explicitly dm'd them and said things like i can't wait for you to die chrissy teigen very swiftly puts out a response after 10 years as one does and this is christy tegan's apology to courtney stodden for extreme bullying not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for their past bs in front of the entire world i'm mortified and sad at who i used to be i was an insecure attention seeking troll i am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that is nothing compared to how i made courtney feel i've worked so hard to give you guys joy and be beloved and the feeling of letting you down is nearly unbearable truly these were not my only mistakes and surely won't be my last as hard as i try but god i will try i have tried to connect with courtney privately but since i publicly fueled all this i want to also publicly apologize i'm so sorry courtney i hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry i am and i am sorry i let you guys down i will forever work on being better than i was ten years ago one year ago six months ago what bothered me is this whole not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for their actions in front of the entire world chrissy stop lying literally nobody who has a platform thinks that it's good that there's so many people keeping us in check that's this is just her trying to seem cool and like oh she gets it she understands how important it is that she has a platform another thing i hate about this apology is the fact that she starts off talking about herself this whole first tweet which is the only one that a bunch of people are going to see i'm mortified i used to be i was insecure i am ashamed i am embarrassed but you know i'm sure courtney probably feels bad too lol so anyway courtney put out a response to chrissy teigen's apology and oh wait a second what's this it kind of looks like courtney's blocked that doesn't sound like hey i reached out to you to apologize so courtney's stance is i accept her apology and forgive her but the truth remains the same i have never heard from her or her camp in private in fact she blocks me on twitter all of me wants to believe this is a sincere apology but it feels like a public attempt to save her partnerships with target and other brands who are realizing her wokeness is a broken record chrissy teigen didn't actually apologize actually blocked them which kind of makes sense and why lie about something that can so easily be fact checked one of the top replies under chrissy's tweet was who is courtney i don't know what's happened and that's when it dawned on me wait a second nowhere in this apology did chrissy teigen admit what happened she was just vague and she was like yeah i made mistakes and i was a bully isn't that that sucks doesn't it anyway sorry i didn't realize it until i was reading all these replies and people were like who the heck is courtney and what are you talking about christy so that was a common theme under there was like literally who's courtney and what are you talking about we don't know what you did wow there's some judgmental people on social media like none of us ever in our lives said something acted in a certain way we're deliberate in our youth at the time with our messed up intentions y'all are really acting self-righteous if everyone slamming her who has ever messed up acted a certain way or said hurtful regrettable things and their lives deleted their comments the page would be blank i definitely am confident saying i have always been above the level of trying to go to teenager into killing themselves over the internet i feel confident saying i'm better than that crazy how we all make mistakes but somehow just bullying teenagers over the internet specifically grooming victims was never one of them so that was a really common response was we all make mistakes another one i saw and this one was sending me thank god for growth and emotional intelligence that comes with age and experience hopefully people will realize that humans can improve and learn as we go through life and maybe just maybe you aren't that person anymore this whole you know you're not that person anymore i hate to break it to you you are still the exact same person now let me say this as i've gotten just a little bit older i've come to kind of realize what people mean when they say you're not that person anymore i do recognize there are literally things that i have done on the internet that my frame of mind is not there like i don't think the same way as i did when i upload these videos even videos like that are not wrong like i made a video in 2018 about someone who traced i only had like tens of thousands of subscribers at the time but that video ended up blowing up and causing all this controversy i wouldn't do that today because that doesn't seem like something worth blowing up if you say i'm not that person anymore you're kind of implying you never went through any growth like that was just a skin you were wearing and you unzipped it like 60s spy movie style and now you're this person i can honestly proudly say yeah i am that same person who did all that crazy stuff look at me now i don't do that anymore i'm proud of myself this whole it's okay because you know you're not really the same person narrative is so focused to me she was in her mid-20s sorry now me saying that is not me saying you have no room to make mistakes what i'm saying is if we're talking about somebody comfortable with telling a child to kill themselves who's already in their mid-20s that's when aids stops being an excuse any manner of dumb things i can understand growing out of that mentality because your 20s are formative years but being so comfortable with tagging someone on twitter and saying go to sleep forever and you're 26 age has nothing to do with that the most brave thing in the world is to own up to past behavior especially in the public eye the problem i have with this tweet is the same problem i have with a lot of the conversation regarding victims and perpetrators online why do we always have so much room in our hearts for the bullies and the groomers and the sometimes criminals even and the predators of the world we spend so much time talking about i'm so glad you were able to change and grow for the better better and i'm so proud of you if only there was one tweet like this saying gosh i hope courtney's okay one of those for each one i saw these that would be cool but for some reason it's just like 500 oh my gosh we love you so much chrissy comments and the odd oh my gosh i hope courtney's fine comment obviously i don't want to make it seem like everyone under her comments was agreeing with her because that's not the case i like this one a lot this person said i've made mistakes and done embarrassing things in the past but i've never told someone to kill themselves it speaks to your character and it's not saying good things exactly and didn't chrissy use the word mistake these were not my only mistakes there's a lot of things that i've called mistakes and if i'm being fully honest with myself i didn't mess up and do that i chose to do that so i'm gonna hold myself that to that standard and i'm gonna hold everyone else so that's standard as well i can totally see making mistakes and i don't think it makes sense to hold people accountable for mistakes that they have apologized for but repeat behavior things that you consciously did repeatedly and you knew it wasn't right we've gotten out of mistake territory this person said that's no excuse i was your biggest supporter up till now but my daughter was told the same by social media trolls and did what they said luckily after five days in the hospital she recovered there's no turning back from words how can you even disagree with this yeah literally just get lucky if you are pushing a child to the point of suicide and then they happen not to go through with it we're so lucky that not every child who gets made to feel like they have no place here goes through with it or is able to leave this earth this is a great point bottom line no matter how you feel about christie siegen or whether she grew from the situation or not what she did could have led to someone's death because she was telling them to kill themselves period like it's as much as i can try to sugarcoat it and make it sound better it's this serious and i really didn't think about it until i saw that tweet i think that was a good tweet and then the last way i want to read i would have liked to have seen this tweet more about courtney and their feelings makes me think it's damage control more than the sincere apology and yes i'm sorry chrissy but you're really giving us damage control vibes right now i'm not picking up the um apologetic vibes it's really just giving me oh sponsors are gonna be mad if i try to ignore this the most important thing to keep in mind is that this apology is not for us to accept it's not like courtney said that they accepted it and i think that's beautiful they're probably going to be a lot better off for that the literal thousands of people under there who were like oh my gosh it's okay chrissy we all make mistakes you're invalidating courtney the fact that people are normalizing chrissy tegan's actions are insane i'm sorry y'all can't sit here and act like this was normal behavior y'all can't say here and act like using the words go to sleep forever at someone you know is 16 when you're 26 is normal chrissy teigen by the way is just one of the many people one of the many people who needs to apologize to courtney stodden for this whole thing i haven't heard anderson cooper say anything i haven't heard dr drew say anything about this funny or die literally so many people wronged and exploited and bullied this teenager and they're nowhere to be found as for my final thoughts on this situation i am extremely glad that courtney stodden got out of this and that they're safe now and i hope they can go on the long roads to becoming happy as far as christie tegan holy crap dude i'm glad that i'm really glad unironically that courtney accepted her apology but they were 16. the fact that this all happened as recently as 10 years ago shows we really do live in clown world but i guess if there's any lesson for us to learn from this it's that don't ever be a victim of anything ever because if you are twitter's gonna find a way of blaming you for it anyway i'll be here all week folks at 2 pm central time if it's monday wednesday friday that means i'm uploading a new video here if it's tuesday thursday saturday that means i'm going live over on twitch and as you can see my twitch streams are extremely chill situations everyone here has a good time literally no one is being held here against their will so we would love to see you join us basically what i'm saying is i'll see you tomorrow unless of course
