These Air Force 1's Shoot Fire! + Retractable Blade (Real Life Fire Bender / Kingsman Shoes)

[Music] [Music] so i got some air force ones left over from my last wall climbing shoe video you know not the worst problem to have but i was trying to think what i should do with them like in last wall climber video i put spikes in them gave them a sweet spider-man style paint job and uh went out in the woods and climbed some trees so i asked you guys on instagram what i should do with these shoes yeah i got some good responses basically the majority of you guys said to either make him shoot fire or at a retractable knife blade looks like some things never change now i know i say this in every video but these project ideas come from you guys i just go through and pick the most popular comments so if you guys have any cool ideas you want to see get made definitely comment that also ask just want to thank you guys for the super positive feedback i got from my last video flying like avatar basically a man drone the next part is coming soon it looks like the top comment from that video is make some doctor octopus tentacle arms yeah this can be tough but uh i hear you so with this build i'm thinking since we got two shoes let's make this one have a pop out knife sort of like the kingsman movie that is sick this one shoot fire kind of like avatar firebenders ladies and gentlemen you are welcome also cheeky disclaimer these shoes are obviously for entertainment purposes only like it's just for show it's like a cool accessory to have obviously i'm not gonna be pulling up on anyone like knifing people like if that wasn't clear so i want to see anyone doing this so getting hurt by it and blaming me all right so for the blade shoes we're going to make the blade pop out of the front and it's going to be activated by a kick to the heel a mini otf knife should be the perfect place to start because it ejects and retracts with just a slight push of a switch so if we attach a metal rod to the trigger by drilling a hole in both the rod and the trigger attaching with some wire we can reposition the trigger to the heel so whenever you kick the heel the blade will pop out and we can also retract the blade by just pulling on the rod too uh so to make sure this all slides smoothly i added a little bit of tubing around the rod so we got it all made let's put it in the shoe so we're just going to undo the laces and make it cut out in the sole of the shoe [Music] then we can also cut out a little piece of the front for the knife to stick out we also got to make a small hole in the back for the trigger rod so slap the knife in there glue everything up put the sole back in place and now the shoes look 99 like they originally did this is cool and all but uh you know we got to finish this off with a sweet paint job i know this isn't an art channel but i like art and i wanted to make this look good so i wanted the paint to relate to the shoes functionality so i was looking online trying to find cool like knife patterns uh but nothing was really sticking out no pun intended oh it's got to be one pun in these videos somewhere i did end up finding this cool like torn up sort of ripped looking pattern uh so i took it into photoshop and overlaid it over a picture of the shoes and i think it looks pretty sick it's a pretty out there design but that's kind of what we're going for with these so i'm gonna try and paint this as best i can hopefully i can do this justice i've done some oil paintings before but this is my first time using acrylics so fingers crossed but my dad did just get me this sweet new paint set for my birthday a couple weeks ago so that should help first did a little test on paper just to kind of get the feel of the paint and figure out the technique once i was happy with that moved on to the shoes [Music] so acrylic was all right but it didn't really blend the way i was used to like with oil paints it wasn't getting quite the outcome that i wanted also the paint would come off a little bit too easily i think i need like actual leather pants if i'm going to use these so i ended up doing most of the work with paint pens and actually blend the colors i used a cut off q-tip and a little bit of rubbing alcohol to sort of smudge it together i think this worked pretty well so here's the shoe like i'm pretty happy with this it's cool to be able to integrate art into some of these projects like now we got both custom art shoes with cool engineering who else is doing it y'all gotta drop a like for this one so i mean this is pretty self-explanatory we've got the knife pop out of the front right here just a little slit not too noticeable uh bottoms completely looks normal inside normal the only other thing that could potentially give it away is this little nub right here uh but you need that like whenever you press the back the knife pops out and then to retract it all you got to do is just pull on this little tab right here and it pulls back in all automatic pretty cool got the shoe on looking pretty good all right quick little blade test just going to kick the heel slightly watch for the blade there it is oh wait hold on i think that box is trying to square it up no pun intended i'm going to be right back [Applause] other possible jokes that box is trying to box could you imagine playing soccer in these sorry guys sorry hey come on don't be like that chuck e cheese later all right anyone thirsty you guys remember that bottle cap challenge i'm gonna hit just the cap all right a couple practice swings oh i missed that one i actually tried to hit it oh jesus you know i've done this before that exact same thing happened still surprised by the outcome still haven't learned to get everything out of the way of the splash zone [Music] all right so we know they work we'll do more testing in a bit but right now we're walking around one shoe here still gonna make the other one shoot fire for that obviously i'm gonna use my classic lighter cartridge hack basically just remove the fuel restrictor from a cheap disposable lighter dumps a lot of fuel out all at once if you haven't seen me do this before clearly you gotta like and subscribe for the ignition we're gonna use an arc lighter these things are great so i took it apart and 3d models the container to fit both the lighter cartridge and the arc lighter the tricky part was to design it so we could easily swap out the lighter cartridge to reload the shoe also we need a way to trigger this from inside the shoe maybe like with my toes or something and the trigger needs to press both the lighter cartridge for the fuel and trigger the arc lighter for the ignition and of course it all needs to fit in the sole of the shoe bit of a tall order but uh here's what i came up with basically the lighter cartridge slides in from the front then there's lever arm that folds down to press on the cartridge arc lighter parts are how it's next to the cartridge and the power button for the arc lighter was relocated to sit behind the cartridge this way as the lever is being pressed the cartridge wants to slide backwards and hits the button for the arc lighter so the cartridge ejects fuel and the arc lighter lights perfect so i 3d printed everything with 100 infill ton of supports so hopefully it won't crack when i'm walking or running on it i screwed everything together and cut a hole in the sole of the shoe this one does take up more surface area than the knife shoe but it's still the correct thickness so uh we should be fine just got to be careful because this won't bend as easily as like the tip of the shoe but i did paddle the insides with foam hopefully that will help with like impacts but we'll see so i ended up mounting the arc lighter terminals to two screws at the tip of the shoe lever arm also peeks up into the bottom of the shoe where i cut a little hole so we can control it with our toes to refill this all you got to do is flip the lever up and slide the ladder cartridge out of the front of the shoe having the lever arm up in this position is also handy when you want to walk around in the shoe but don't want to risk accidentally lighting everything on fire so that's a plus lastly i extended out the charging wires from the arc lighter to the inside of the shoe so we can still charge this thing and finally we gotta paint this one as well so let's do that once again i did a few like flame style mock-ups looked at similar designs other people had done but uh you know nothing was really sticking out so i ended up tinting the previous mock-ups we did all orange and red because the rips actually kind of look like flames plus if we keep the design similar the shoes will actually look like a pair [Music] so i present to you the fire shoe [Music] i already sort of explained this but just a quick rundown once again we've got the whole cartridge system in here i attached it using some screws but i also painted them white and glued them up so they're not too noticeable but inside the shoe that's the trigger you push that lever down and arc jumps between these two screws right here and also shoots out butane from the cartridge so we get that fiery effect might get a little bit charred over time but you know that's for future me to deal with so to eject the cartridge we just flip up the little lever in here and then the lighter cartridge slips right on out you can refuel this or pop in a fresh one and to charge it we've got the little charging port right here which just plugs into this wire all right so let's throw these on and have some fun i'll try and get some cool shots with these
