hi there this is umesh from pixar perfect and everything i show in this video can be done with photoshop you don't need a plugin for it then what's the point of a plugin you might ask well the answer is time let me demonstrate it for you let's say for this image you want to convert the season to form and the panel that we are talking about today is called the professional panel in other words actually the pro panel now once you've installed the panel go to window extensions and inside of that you will find the pro panel now this is a filter right first of all let's stick it up here a little bit for our convenience insider filters just click on fall foliage that's all we had to do now of course we want to decrease the opacity but if you look at it it's just a hue saturation adjustment left if you go to greens you will see that the hue is changed for the greens and the range is tweaked a little bit it can be easily done with photoshop but it's just that it saves you a ton of time now let's look at a little more advanced example in this image let's say in your client's words you want to make it pop i know i don't want to use it but let's make it pop first of all if you look at the dark areas we want to make it a little brighter and the way to do that again very simple using the panel just go to tools you want to make a luminosity mask of the dark areas so click on one is that all the dark areas is the selection looking proper now keep in mind white are the areas which are selected black are the areas which are not selected we want it to be a little more specific a little more limited to dark areas let's go for number two that works well now once this mask is active with that active you want to create a curves adjustment layer out of this so click on add an adjustment just choose curves curves adjustment layer will be created with that as a mask isn't that pretty sweet now just go to curves and simply brighten it it is as simple as that have a look here's the before here's the after now if you want to make the highlights a little more brighter let's create one more curves adjustment layer and take the right hand side up and i don't want to make the shadows dark areas more brighter so we're going to bring it down just doing this bit makes such a ton of difference now have a look at the highlights there's just too much we want the details back what do we do we just have to open up the panel inside of filters choose darken highlights that's all and have a look look at the details we have here's the before here's the after now we want more details in the sky what do we do now make a couple copies of it press ctrl or command j and one more time so much details on the sky but this area looks a little creepy we don't want that bad so make a group of all of that so select the first one hold the shift key select the last one for darkening highlights press ctrl or command g now you can create a negative mask for it hold the alt here the option key click on the mask button now take the brush and only paint white on the areas where you want to darken the highlights now we do want a little bit of highlight details in the waterfall so let's just decrease the opacity to about 10 percent and paint over there but still it seems there's something missing that punch is missing right there let's open up the panel again and just click on one of these vivids click on vivid 2 let's try it and have a look at the punch it comes with a lot of adjustments all of this can be done with photoshop it's just the time saving you're taking advantage of right here and such great effects and presets so here's the before here's the after if you think the waterfall is getting too bright just select the mask it comes with a mask in a group just paint black on these areas on top of it if you want to enhance it even more just click on lux there you go a little more boost i'm just going to decrease the opacity to about 40 and have a look just in a couple minutes here is the before and here is the after isn't that a massive difference and trust me we're just getting started here a plugin or a preset saves you time which means for the same amount of time you work on more photos you work more efficiently thus saving you time making you create more work and thus in general making you more income and making you more productive in this video we're gonna go through this professional panel on actual terms pro panel and look at seven essential features so that you can decide whether it's worth it or not so without any further ado let's get started [Music] back to the magical world of photoshop and first of all let me share with you an overview of what this panel actually is the layout of the panel is pretty self-explanatory you have four sections for four applications tools filters effects and finish now inside of tools you will find essential tools for example you want to select the greens and want to do something to it let's go ahead and select the greens so all you have to do is to click on the greens that's it green is selected now what do you want to do with it i want to create a curves adjustment layer with that as a mask so simply click on add an adjustment you're going to click curves and there you go you have a curves with greens as a mask now you can make it darker brighter do whatever you want with it now with the same adjustment you can create a hue saturation adjustment lip it's absolutely up to your artistic freedom the filter section gives you access to practical filters at the push of a button for instance let's say you want to sharpen it without adding halos yes you heard it right so let's zoom in and simply click on smart sharp that's it now choose the values how much you want to sharpen 200 is okay you can increase or decrease the radius that's up to you so for this example i'm going to go with 1.5 and hit ok all right now this is sharpened let's look at the before and after so this is the before and this is the after pretty sharp isn't it now here's the great part if you had sharpened it the regular way you would see it this way look at the halos in the eyelashes but with this it comes with a mask that hides the halos so have a look now see the halos are hidden that's a great way amazing way to sharpen now as the name suggests the effects panel does effects it has some pretty amazing effects for astrophotography which we'll look at later in the video but it also has simple and powerful effects for example let's say you want to increase the saturation of the blues right there just click on saturate now what do you want to saturate the blues click on that and it automatically saturates the blue here's the before here's the after now keep in mind this is again a simple hue saturation adjustment layer and if you go to the blues it is adjusted a little bit and the saturation has been increased that's it you can do it with photoshop but it's just that it's just one button that's all let me share with you one more example similarly with this example i feel the reds are just too much so again we're going to go to the panel and this time we're going to click on desaturate what do you want to desaturate reds just click on that and it's done you didn't have to select any particular color you didn't have to move the sliders it's just one click you can paint in a mask adjust the settings to your liking finally the finish section is for exporting your images where do you want to export which format do you want you can also convert your color profile right from here just by clicking on these buttons you can add a watermark all in all just everything you need for exporting your photos now it's time for us to look at our top seven essential features of the pro panel the first feature we're going to look at is how convenient it is to create a luminosity mask so here i have two exposures of the same image so this is a brighter one where you can see that there's not much detail in the highlights and this is the darker one where there's not much details in the shadows and we want to combine it using luminosity masks here's how you do it first of all let's just drag both of those and drop it inside of photoshop now you don't have to just bring it all in and combine the layers and load a stack you can do all that there's a way to do that as well however if you have both of that open you can just open the panel by simply going to again window extensions and then pro panel and inside of tools simply click on stack now it's going to give you a warning whether you want to combine all of the open images so make sure only the same scene with different exposures are open just hit yes and it'll combine it both into one document as layers now the first one is the dark one and the second layer is the bright one now we want to make a selection of the bright areas so make sure that is selected and in the pro panel just l stands for light so bright areas so what part of bright area do you want to select first one second one this is a little harsh third one is just too harsh now you can make adjustments to it you can refine it all you want so let's say you want to go with the second one you can always refine it and adjust this mask to your liking this looks alright hit okay now simply select the darker layer turn it on and click on apply mask that mask is applied right over here as you can see see that now you have details in the sky as well and details in the dark areas as well but the contrast is missing my friend so how do we get it back again you can apply a lot of filters here let's go to filters click on lux it makes it a little more exciting also what if we add a little bit of flare so let's go back here and click on flare now it adds a flare right here in the middle you can adjust it so if you open up the flare groove here's the flare press ctrl or command t you can make it smaller or bigger and adjust to your liking so i'm going to place it right here in the sun looks okay if you want to keep it that way and also you can adjust the color you can open the color adjust button right there just double click on the symbol of the adjustment layers and the properties of hue saturation will show up and here you can just change the saturation to your liking i'm going to make it a little more red ish there you go and this is a pretty nice flare we still want a little structure here so again inside of filters you will find structure but for structure you need to create a stamp visible layer because there's a lot of element here now to create a stamp is blurry you can press the shortcut ctrl alt shift and e and that complicated stuff it's also combined in just one button inside at the bottom all these blue buttons are common between tools filters and effects section so if you are in filter or any of these three at the bottom you will find stamp up so it will create a stamp visibility at the top now simply click on structure to add it and it automatically does everything for you now we only wanted structure at the bottom because at the top it is just not looking that good so we're going to click on the mask right there and then choose a gradient and we want it only at the bottom just as so so have a look at this here's the before here's the after look these areas are more defined now before after pretty cool now we want to darken and make the sky even more dramatic how do we do that well let's create one more mask so inside of that we're going to create a luminosity mask of the bright areas again let's go for one and we can adjust it let's go for refine and make sure only the bright areas are selected with this we want to create a curves adjustment clip click on add an adjustments and then choose curves now in here we just want to darken it just look at the sky now for the bright areas we might want to make it a little brighter that's crazy amazing isn't it no it's still not looking warm enough what do we do let's open up the panel again inside of effects click on photo filter once you click on that have a look at the warmth right there here's the before here's the after just look at the warmth now in some cases you want to make the scene cooler what do you do then let me share with you a trick hold the shift key and then when you click on it it changes to cool filter now it cools it so two sides of the same coin just click on the photo filter and there you have it a little more warmth now on top of that you can do a little bit of contrast right there i feel the darks need to be a little more darker there you have it and take a look just a little adjustment so here's the before here's the after we have details everywhere the glare looks amazing the sky looks amazing and that's how you combine exposures for the second feature let's talk about advanced dodging and burning using luminosity masks and this is how you do it let's say you want to add dimension to these tree trunks and to add the dimension you want to brighten one side of it and you don't want to touch the dark areas how do you do that first of all let's go to tools and select the bright areas one was fine in my opinion you can also select the mid-tones and the dark areas that's absolutely up to you midtones can be a little tricky in this case so we're gonna go with one now let's refine it we don't want it in the dark area so let's take it away from the dark areas but we still want it in the bright tree area so let's move it that way all right this looks about right once you're happy with the combination hit okay now keep in mind bright are the areas which are targeted black other areas which are hidden now once this mask is created you just click on add an adjustment and in here just choose d and b soft light you can also choose overlay overlay is a little harsh dodge and burn soft light now you have a dodge and burn layer with that as a mask now once you have this lamp you take the brush white as the foreground color and then you can set the flow to about two to three percent and paint with white and areas which you wanna brighten i'm just gonna increase the flow just for the sake of this tutorial to make it faster let's make the brush a little larger and simply paint white in these areas there you go here's the before here's the after just look at the dimension that we added now if you look at the bottom we want a little more brightness in these sun rays well again let's create a luminosity mask so let's go for one again and by the way if you want to hide this just click on height it'll be gone so let's click on one anyway and create a curves adjustment layer and what we want to do here is brighten it but we only want to brighten the bottom parts so put it on a group create a mask for the group create a gradient which only brightens the bottom part on top of that if you want to give this a little more boost we can apply our good old trusted luxe right over there and there you have a little more boost let's take a look here's the before it's a little plain and here is the after with a little more dimension for the third feature let's talk about focus stacking so here i have a series of photos with different focal planes look at the first one the closest flower is focused but everything else gradually blurs out in the last one have a look the further away areas are sharp but the closer areas are blurred out so all of these photos have the same scene but they were taken with different focal lens what we want to do is to combine all of that to make sure that everything is in focus so using the panel makes it simple because then you just have to click buttons so click on open stack locate where the images are so click on browse locate the images select all of them hit ok you can also import whole folders by simply clicking on folder right over here just select that and hit ok it automatically opens the stack next you just have to select all of these layers so select the first one hold the shift key select the last one and then click on focus blend that's all and it will automatically take care of the rest now have a look everything right here is in focus from the closest flower to the furthest mountains and it is made possible with the help of these masks all of these masks have been created to combine all of these images together and make sure that everything is in focus for feature number four let's learn how to create beautiful dramatic black and white photos so for this image it's all about shapes and dimensions not so much about colors there are some colors and it looks pretty good in color however in black and white this would look absolutely amazing so let's open up the panel right there and inside of filters you will find black and white contrast click on that and it creates a beautiful black and white now inside the group it comes with a lot of adjustments the black and white adjustment the contrast adjustment so you can make adjustments here as well it comes with a beautiful preset and on top of that you also have the brightness adjustment instead of meddling with it why not create one more adjustment clip so again we'll open up the pro panel inside of tools we want to make the dark areas even darker so let's create a luminosity mask for the dark areas so we're gonna go with number three now let's create a curves adjustment using that and now we just want to make it darker look at it it isn't satisfactory just not looking right i'm not satisfied with the mask so what do we do again well just turn it off open up the panel again you don't have to worry about deleting it and creating it again choose what you like let's try the second one and click on apply mask it will be replaced with two now let's turn it on and have a look now if we just make dark areas darker it's looking much much better beautiful just beautiful now to make it even more dramatic let's add a little bit structure to it so again let's go to filter and click on structure now structure doesn't work it's just not working you know why it's not working it's not working because it needs a stamp visible layer at the top so simply click on stamp up now it's system visible layer click on structure it'll work beautifully there you go have a look at it so here's the before here's the after just look at the dimension so here is the before and here is the dramatic after for the fifth feature let's talk about stack noise removal this is very useful in astrophotography but can be useful in other cases as well remember i took a photo of my speaker a lot of photos and as you can see there's a lot of noise but i took a lot of photos if you notice the scene is the same the objects are the same but noise changes what if you could use all of these photos to take away the noise i've made a video about it but with this panel you can do it with buttons to load up all of these photos again just click on open stack this time we're going to choose a folder browse browse the folder locate the folder so it is an example 12 folder hit ok and everything inside of that folder will show up right over here just hit ok once the layers are loaded select all of it select the first one hold the shift key select the last one all of it is selected just go to effects and then stack noise reduce click on that and it will combine all of these images to cancel out the noise so here is the before and here is the after look at the noise gone right now there are some other stacking methods that you can use as well i just wanted to let you know that there are other options too now this panel uses median which is amazing for astro photography there are some other ones that you can use so if you click on that and if you go to layer smart objects stack mode instead of median you can also use meme that's up to you you can choose whatever you like and see what works better for your image now keep in mind it changes from situation to situation now there's some fun filters as well like day to night for instance this is a pretty evening or morning scene and we want to change it tonight with aurora how do we do that let's open up the pro panel inside of effects and there is a day to night filter let's click on that now it's 99 there we go now to replace the sky you can use photoshop's sky replacement first of all let's create a stamp visible layer by simply clicking on stamp up there we go stamp visible and then let's go to edit and sky replacement right over there now you can choose one of these guys but i'm gonna choose an aurora so click on the drop down right over there and click on plus and let's load up this kind click on open you can name it if you want and there you have it my friend looks pretty good doesn't it so you can just completely adjust the lighting adjustment you can also do a complete color adjustment to match it so i'm going to keep it at about 70 to 73 ish and there you have it my friend once you're satisfied with it hit ok or hit enter now you want to make the aurora pop again there's an aurora pop filter now before you click on it just make sure that the group is collapsed otherwise it'll be created inside the group click on aurora pop and there you have it just look at the drama here so here's the before here's the after now if you don't want all of it you can always decrease the opacity to about 75 percent okay now to add a little more drama you can add your own curves like this i'm just doing it for the ground areas so select the mask press ctrl or command i take the brush and with a very soft brush make it a little larger and with white as the foreground color just dab there you go at the ground area just to create a little bit of light there there you have it just a little light here's the before here's the after now take a complete look here's the complete before here's the complete after day tonight if you want to add a little more contrast you can do it around the boat now with the sky replacement i feel that we could have removed the darkness from the boat areas so if you turn this off have a look the darkness just goes away so foreground lighting i'm just going to decrease the opacity and slowly and gradually increase it to our liking so in this case let's keep it at about 35 that looks more satisfactory so here is the complete before and here is the complete after last but not least let's talk about the milky way and adding some core contrast you see whenever you're capturing the milky way you want it to have a little more drama and the way you add it using this panel is simply just clicking on enhance milky way it is that simple click on that and it automatically creates some adjustments to do just that for you if you open up the group you will find that it has adjustments for vivid stars it has adjustments for vibrance color lookup lots of different adjustments that you can modify and tweak as well now how do we increase the contrast in the core there is no button for it just under the milky way button that button is actually hidden if you hold the shift key you will notice some buttons change those buttons are hidden buttons so now if you click on core contrast now it's giving you an error which means that you need to have a stem visible layer so click on stamp up so it'll create a stamp visible lamp now let's hold the shift key and click on core contrast and the amount of difference it makes is just humongous now you can choose the amount the radius and other things here i'm just going to leave it at default and this is the result you get here's the before here is the after just look at the contrast here look at the drama here here's the before here is the after fantastic isn't it now sometimes there are too many stars that might distract us too much so how do we reduce the stars around first of all let's create a stamp visible layer by clicking on stamp up and there is a button just for it reduce stars and it reduces stars now we did not want to reduce stars in the middle so click on the mask and then take the brush with black as the foreground color just paint on the middle with a soft round brush so that the middle areas have all the stars all right and the corner areas have lesser stars so here's the before too much stars too much brightness here's the after you can do it a couple times to reduce the intensity of the stars even more now apart from all of these essential features and more there are lots of features there are little nifty things here and there that's going to help you correct your photo for example there's something called removing sensor dust so to remove sensor dust to see it first of all just open up the pro panel and inside of filters correction section you will find sensor dust just simply click on it and that way you will be able to see which areas have sensor dust have a look at this area this area and using that as a reference you can create a layer just beneath it and with the help of the regular healing brush tool the patch tool whatever is your choice the regular healing brush tool in this case i'm going to take a sample from right here and paint right here you cannot see it because that layer is covering it but that is actually gone take a sample paint on it cover it similarly here take a sample paint on it now to check it you can again create a sensor dust layer so it it is mostly gone but you can create one more by simply stamping up and clicking on sensor dust again and now as you can see there's no sensor dust and you can add your own actions if you wish there are buttons for it so if you go to effects inside the user sections i've already added one right here so you can hold the alt kg option key click on it to assign an action to one of these button so if i want to add my saturation mask action i'm just going to click on color inside of that i have my saturation mask action click on assign primary action now you can add one more action in the same button by holding the alt k the option key clicking on in here and then choosing some other action for example pixel perfect quick skin softening now this time you would have to shift click shift plus click to assign secondary action as it says now it is the second action now when you hold the shift key and click on it it'll just do skin softening now this is a landscape photo but i was just showing it for illustration now i have one suggestion for the developer when you hold the shift the action name should have changed too that would be a little more convenient all right watermarking is also simple you can always keep something loaded inside of the finish section you can have your watermark always loaded by clicking on it and choosing your watermark i've already done it weeks ago all you have to do is to click on apply where do you want it i want it in the left most bottom corner just click on apply you can also change the size and the scale from right here but once you apply it you can always change it to your liking and it changes from example to example because for some images you might want it smaller for some you might want it bigger so it's up to you it's very easy convenient thing it's always there all you got to do is to apply choose the scale i recommend just keep it hundred and you can always adjust that later super easy if you ask me personally this little panel is a must have in your toolkit especially for astrophotographers and landscape photographers and if you're a portrait photographers little buttons like frequency separation saturation and desaturation will make the whole editing process so much more faster now does it do everything no but whatever it does it does it simply and perfectly if you are interested in the pro panel click the link in the description and follow the instructions to get 20 off i hope you enjoyed this video and if you did make sure to give us like and also don't forget to subscribe and not just subscribe ring the bell so that you don't miss any other future tips tricks or tutorials i'll see you in my next one till then stay tuned and make sure that you keep creating [Music] you
