The Target Man Level III ATC Spartan AR500 Body Armor Test (HD)

welcome back everybody today we got to test some body armor that we're wearing here we got the Spartan armor in the Condor plate carrier here so relatively cheap plate carrier but we're gonna do is see what it can actually stop and we'll also get into the spa protection that it gives you so this plate carrier getting relatively cheap offering but it will show if the spa is getting out earth the actual fragmentation catcher if you will coating that's on there it's doing its job but for now if you put some rounds downrange and then set this sucker up to start put some rounds in it we had our entry point right here let's check the plate small bulge but that's it I mean nothing no uh spa no nothing work just fine as it expect with just standard a hundred fifteen great minute and munition stuff let's step it up to the rifles not an eighteen but it's certainly an ache a round we got 123 grain wolf ammo and we'll see what it does at our impact right here to check the plate and you can see the spa guard here layer on top came out a little bit but does it look like any spalling actually got out beyond the plates coating yeah the plate carrier is clean so no damage it looks like it would have all been contained no problem let's step it up something a little bit hotter seven eight six ammo their stuff Homs out of these 16 ish barrels spread the love around here we got it on the bottom a little bit towards the bottom the plate I should say and again we don't have any visible small damning damage at all on the plate here impact mark right here nothing on the back no bulges no nothing and all contain so so far so good here's the impact mark again doesn't appear to be any spotting at all coming out of the air carrier oh so far taking multiple hits had no damage there so something a lot of folks are concerned with obviously because this falling can't hurt ya you know stuffs moving pretty fast you could certainly penetrate skin if it wasn't contained so some of the earlier air 500 plates out there had an issue with it coatings they've developed seem to be doing pretty well you can see this one here held it in pretty well we had a little bit of a sort of bulge but again absolutely no damage to the plate hair whatsoever let's step it up something a little bit hotter here we have our entrance all here still not seeing any damage to the play care after a quite a few rounds at this point there we had our 193 entrance and as you can see nothing on the backside now I know a lot of people were worried about the 193 loads they've Seton they've done well I should say against some steel plates before but out of a 16 inch barrel at 25 meters here seems to stop it just fine now a lot of the tests I've seen where they failed I've been using a 20 inch barrel I actually debated using the 4 TH borough for this test the reason I did is because honestly I've never seen any sort of like home invasion personal defence situation with a 20 inch 5 5 6 barrel use so I just never seen it so I didn't know that it would be - practically applicable anyway we're going to step it up to the big-boy rounds now you know it's serious what the grant comes out that would have a little bit more power behind it huh so uh certainly the 3006 is what a lot of hard armor is graded for so it's a decent tested and then you can see our entrance MOU it definitely busted up the spawn guard a little bit you can tell on the back side it made a huge dent I'll walk over there so you guys can check that dent out but certainly didn't penetrate I got a few rounds left in that aisle old clip and we're gonna empty em right into this sucker at thirty at six got a little bit of power behind it huh so as you can see all the Browns hit right on there on the plate we did have some small come through the actual plate here which will show you here in a second what does it look like we have you pass through the actual plate let's check it out when I just opened up the plate carrier I could actually feel but so the bullet fragments actually come out in my hand yeah there's some in there so right here my hand so mixture will be anti small as well as bullet fragments so there's definitely a lot of them contained by the actual carrier itself taking a look at the actual plate you can see exactly where they hit from back here no passengers at all but definitely four distinct dents we actually had a little bit of a crack here in the small guard if you will and the only place this balling made it through is right here on top obviously that's probably the worst place for it to go through from a defensive scenario or perspective because it's gonna be coming right up at your face and your neck obviously is gonna be coming off at an angle just due to the way you know steel impacts a bullets impact steel I should say but uh it took a lot of rounds to get to that point so I would say if you're getting shot that many times and not moving it's a it's your fault at that point that's false ending you not the actual place fault certainly the test is what everybody wanted to see but a few details on the plates they're obviously err 500 steel with that coating like we talked about oh look pretty well until you just start smashing at thirty out six rounds most of coatings are gonna fail at that point it does have the curved technology there so that way when you're wearing it it's much more comfortable then say just a flat plate on there they come in different sizes and I'll place post the price right here below so you guys can check that out for this size plate but it's gonna vary by the by the size of the plate as you can imagine a larger place gonna cost more just due to weight and obviously using more steel but certainly it seems to be good to go they've held up well and obviously I had a good time out there smashing rounds into them if you guys have any question about this review test anything else you can always post below in the comment section you can also post over at my facebook page as always thanks for watching guys thanks for subscribing and I'll see you the next video
