The Stupidest Scam I Ever Fell For

so today I want to talk about the video that I made where I interviewed someone who claimed to be an Apple ID scammer in India and he made some pretty outlandish claims like being locked in a call center and being beaten for not showing up to work really crazy stuff you can watch that video right here there we go and I had a lot of people commenting saying that I had put this guy's life in danger because what if his boss stumbled across this YouTube video what would happen to him he'd surely be killed right well this was a concern that I had too but he told me that he would be okay with me using that recording if I agreed to share any ad revenue that I made from the video which isn't very much but to a poor guy in India that could make a real difference so I posted the video and a lot of other people were suspicious of him saying that the guy didn't sound Indian and that he sounded like a kid and I even had one of my friends who actually lives in India say that this is definitely not an Indian accent and so I got a little sip it's I got a little suspicious and I started to investigate and I looked at the PayPal address that he had asked me to send money to and I don't know why I didn't notice this before but the email address was way dormady at gmail.com and i said 'we doorman e where have I heard that name before and that's when it hit me that I had heard this name earlier this year when I was involved in the stupidest scam the world would ever know it all started when I got an email from the United States Postal Service hello I am an agent for the USPS after reviewing some activity we discovered a large amount of boxes were ordered from Nigeria we are not sure if you want us to proceed with the order or canceled while shipping it is a USPS exclusive item so we can cancel at any time please be advised if we do not hear from you we will unhold the order and it will be shipped to you thanks Wade or Moni CSA for the USPS and I thought what in the world is this someone from Nigeria sending me a large shipment of items of what is it a present is it a bomb I mean I wasn't sure how I felt about a mysterious package come from Nigeria so I told Wade I don't remember ordering anything from Nigeria please cancel and soon Wade wrote back saying hello the item is now requested for cancellation you may have to pay a fee depending on how late the shipper receives it you can always manage your incoming mail by signing up for a USPS informed delivery account please click the link to manage the cancellation ok I looked at the link but I didn't click on it because this is an IP grabber link he's trying to find my IP address why what is going on who is this and soon he sends me another email hello the shipper requested you pay $16 to cancel the order if you do not the shipper cannot cancel your order this is a peel box that was put down so you may incur a larger fee for the PIO to hold your item I would just recommend that you go with the instant cancel option which is 16 dollars and PayPal that money to Wade dormady at gmail.com sorry for the inconvenience and I thought this is so weird why would I have to pay a cancellation fee for a package that I didn't even order and why would I have to pay Wade at his personal PayPal account that's when I thought that I need to get to the bottom of this so I said what's in the package if it's worth more than 16 dollars I might want it Wade said is a large shipment of USPS federal boxes sir would you want me to cancel their request and have it shipped to you please verify your mailing address once again so I can ship it to you directly and I'm like sure send it to my P o box and he says the delivery fee will be $5,000 but I will make it free for you holy crap $5,000 pleasant the last email meant to say five dollars but said five thousand dollars I am so sorry if I confused okay I am confused and soon I got another email hello would you like to receive USPS updates on your tracking status they will be sent to your mobile number as soon as the status updates and I'm like sure why the heck not what is your phone number please reply to receive status information so I give him my Google Voice number and I ask for the tracking information he says you will receive the tracking when the order ships then I get another email with the order details I've attached your order summary and what I see is that he has ordered a bunch of empty boxes and envelopes from USPS these are shipping items that anyone can order for free but why is he ordering them and why is he sending them to me I write back and I say wait I am totally confused are you a USPS employee can I call you and talk to you about this he says yes I have no way of contacting you through phone only email company policy for online CSA call 1-800 two seven five eight seven seven seven four a USPS agent it's against company policy to talk to a customer on the phone what kind of garbage customer service is this he says hello can you pay the fee of five dollars and 32 cents for extra shipping rolls out tomorrow and I'm like what you said you were gonna pay it for me also why are you working on Labor Day the post office should be closed he said yes you may encourage a large fee of the PIO and they're still workers for the P oh never mind I'll pay out of pocket you're welcome this is the most confusing scam I've ever been a part of he's sending me a shipment of empty boxes and trying to make me think that if I don't pay five dollars I'm gonna get fined but then he goes ahead and he pays the fee anyway he says I don't understand why you just cannot pay the fee what I said because you already paid it where's the tracking number he said I paid the fixed amount of 16 dollars with a shipper set otherwise after receiving payment I cannot go against the USPS policy anymore this is the strangest experience of my life who would go through all of this just for five dollars eventually he sends me the tracking info and I watch as the order gets delivered and I just have to see what this is all about so I go down to the post office and sure enough I'm told that I have a huge order in the back ready to pick up to show me carts in pallets full of empty USPS boxes and they are just as confused as I am and I have no use for these boxes so I just tell the post office to keep them for someone else who might need them then I write back to Wade and I okay got my packages he says great thanks for letting me know were there any fees no okay this is not good the IRS will arrest you if you do not pay the tax on the delivery the IRS will arrest me for not paying taxes on a bunch of free items that I didn't even order he said yes no tax was paid at the IRS now have your information the IRS has everyone's information I'm a taxpayer I just don't know why they would give a crap about me not paying five dollars for some free boxes how do you put a tax on something that doesn't even have value so I said so now what's gonna happen and he never wrote back he went quiet that seriously the last time I ever heard from Wade or so I thought because apparently it was this very person who later called me and claimed to be from India locked in a call center and I had been wondering all this time how he got my phone number but now I remember that I gave it to him three months earlier my name wasn't on a list I actually went through the list that he gave me and they were all bogus numbers except for mine this person had concocted an elaborate tax fraud scheme just to get me to give him $5.00 and now he was claiming to be locked in an Indian call center in order to get $20.00 this isn't no question the strangest scammer on the planet so I had to figure out who he was so I reached out to the Postal Service to see if they could tell me who had placed the order for these stupid boxes and they put me on hold [Music] finally someone answered and they didn't know who had placed the order but they had an email address ei K one two three four that Gmail so I looked at the gmail address and the name it was registered to with someone named Logan people who had a green dog for a profile image and this is when Bryan emailed me back asking when I was going to send the money from our Apple ID YouTube video and I was so pissed at this guy because I knew he had lied to me about India and he had lied to me about the IRS so I wrote back and I said okay you can see how much money the video has made so far by visiting my analytics page click this link and enter your PayPal address so you can receive automatic payments accept the link that I gave him was a grab a file Inc that snagged his IP address and showed me that he was in McDonough Georgia using an iPad this is probably some 15 year old kid in his mom's basement in Georgia so I wrote back and I said hey Logan how's the weather in Georgia and to this day I haven't heard back from him and I really don't know how to react to all this this is the most convoluted hilarious scam that I've yet to encounter and because of it I'm now out a hundred dollars but you know what I'm not even mad because someone with an imagination this bizarre has earned my respect apparently my money so well done Logan you crazy messed up clam kid you finally got me now go back to school and stop wasting people's
