when it comes to giving gifts and that meant cutting my hair the long and short of her teachers love [Music] did you hear about this office worker a woman she's an office worker she quit her nine-to-five job to live in a van she quit her job to live in a van she would rather lated her job so much I would rather live in a van is it just me or is that kind of cool cuz I figure in order to quit your job and live in a van you must have enough money to live in a van Kasich raise your hand if you wish you had enough money to quit your job my hand is up to you man you don't really disgust me though you ever hear when people win large sums of money in the lottery and then they say something stupid like I'm not gonna quit my job what you got 168 million dollars you're going to work for what what do your job pays you that don't make no sense not only am I gonna quit my job I'm a higher airplane to Sky write a message in the air over my job Steve Harvey not coming in today why because he just hit the lottery everybody can kiss my rich black you know the rest of it [Applause] [Music] [Applause] a lot of people say they don't want to quit a job because they'll be bored you got money my money stops boredom listen to me when you have money you don't have to be bored let me tell you something when I quit this job right here I will be bored all right I will be bored and bora-bora that I will be bored then I will go and get bored and bold Oliviana then I will get bored and Botswana then Boston because I'm a fly day every day to have Lobster for lunch [Applause] [Music] I where's Daryl right here so I've been in a relationship now for six months it's my birthday today but it's his birthday tomorrow and right after the show I have to get him a gift and so I was wondering what's an appropriate price point for someone in a new relationship an appropriate price point why are you trying out something no I don't what I'll do them but we did exchange gifts Christmas and I got him a nice genuine leather bracelet and I got it engraved and he got me like this really nice designer scarf yeah so I want to step it up a little bit for it guys supposed to spin Moe for the girl [Applause] no now he did nothing stress or that what he posed to do and we all know that how old is he he'll be 35 tomorrow 35 does he have any hobbies not really but he's like a guy's guy so he loves sports he loves his whisky does he smoke cigars he does oh ok into the right place [Applause] I'll tell you what I'm gonna do one better for you I'm gonna give you something to give him you just wrap it up where's Elias hey how you doing uncle Steve hey what's up man hey man so I just got out of this long-term relationship I was with somebody for 10 years we were married for six and the divorce just finalized now we do have twin daughters you know like yourself I have twin daughters they're three years old and you know they're my world you know my girls are everything to me I put all my focus and effort into raising them you know my question is when is it right to get back into dating while still keeping you know my girls as my priority today [Applause] today see people get tripped out oh my god so how long ago was a divorce the divorce finalized about two months ago now see some people let me explain something to you about divorce divorce is the day that the courts give you the legal date the marriage bill over it's been over all this is is the date that you finally got a court date and they gave you permission when you get a divorce your marriage been over at least a year and a half to two years prior to at minimum so you got to get back out there you got to put your life together you know I'm saying it's been two months but you should waiting on but plus we mean let's just tell the truth we don't need time to go find ourselves where you got to go oh no excursion oh boy shrimp we got to go sitting up in the mountains with some monks trying to find ourselves we get over you with another you see that don't sound right to women but you got to understand you're breaking up is different from us me and get hurt now don't don't get me wrong well we get crushed or we the made some mistakes now oh it's been a chick that we really wanted that got away oh we do oh we somewhere sucking out throw them in the corner we ain't gonna let you see it but we at the house tripping I was at a club with a nightmare it broke up with this girl man you know I was at this club one night my boys yeah man let's go hold out man could we you'll need huh I don't need her hair I won't it hard skip girl you talk and I was at the club my name's it man your eyes - yeah yeah I'm good man every night there Steve you good little oh you all right yeah yeah yeah in the corner man teeing off then I saw somebody crossed the room look just like her and it wasn't huh oh man I was back in the day when they had today I saw somebody who look just like you she walked like you - I thought it was you she turned the corner I called out her name I felt so ashamed cuz it wasn't you [Music] was it you you are everything and everything is you [Music] [Applause] we'll be right back [Applause] up next what a man says to a woman and what she hears can often be two completely different things don't let your relationship get lost in translation I prefer to be spontaneous when it comes to giving gifts bullying and that meant cutting my hair the long and short of her teachers love [Applause] [Music] I welcome back everybody listen if you think the number one reason for divorce in America is infidelity you are completely wrong a recent study by leading divorce law firm revealed that nearly 68 percent of all marriages fail because of a breakdown in communication what a man says to a woman and what she hears can often be two completely different things and vice versa what a woman says and what a man hears can be two different things so I put together a segment to try and figure out this Mars versus Venus language barrier once and for all this is lost in translation everybody is Stephanie and Rashida yes Rashida Stephanie how would you describe the way that you and your husband communicate well Steve we've been together for three years now married we've been dating since 2011 and while we have almost identical personalities we just communicate differently it's like the opposite I'm the type of person where I like to go in depth about something I want to get to the root of the issue my husband he just likes to fix it let's get it done and let's move on that's a geyser mold yeah we just want to fix it cuz we got something else to deal with tomorrow yeah so that's that's a true statement you're making now Rashida what do you think you guys are going wrong with his communication me I think it's more of a cultural difference like I originally came from the Caribbean and you know in the military so certain things that done differently so I see from this angle she sees it from that angle and doesn't know his matchup okay we're gonna take a look at some of the common phrases that you say to each other Rashida let's start with you and some of the things that you say to Stephanie and how she hears them Rashida you often say to Stephanie Christmas and birthdays are money-making scams I prefer to be spontaneous when it comes to giving gifts I probably won't be able to help you with this here's what Stephanie hears when you say that all the other women at work got presents where is mine you clearly don't care about me that much I'm gonna just start with this my birthday just happens to be you know six days before Christmas so that time of year is special to me anyway you know and while I don't expect the world on a string you know we got a kid you know I get it it's about the kids anyway I still want to feel special [Music] okay what I said buddy came out wrong I essentially like obligated affection I'm very against that like when I have to get it effect when you have to do it on these specific dates it don't jive with me I like to just show my love and affection whenever I can whenever I see like oh I think she look great wearing that person I'm 38 okay let me stop you because you've been stupid for a while [Applause] Oh sushi you have to stop this you ain't gonna win this one my husband's defense what he does do is he's spontaneous he's the type of person where you know if he's out shopping any given day he's the just because my man perfect that is lovely I love it I give you birthday presents and Christmas presents and everything else I just personally have issues with it but I give a damn about you personally have she kinda resent the giving it to a with the additional thought behind she just don't want to hear that it's an obligated affection you have to give it to it without the added conversation you know I you know this just cause I'm explaining myself to Marjorie a lot of time because we are constantly and we stop ourselves all the time by said okay Steve what did you say again let me tell you what I heard and we call it - he said she heard things we do that all day because she'll say something and I take it the wrong way and we have whenever we get into an argument I said well okay let's back up what did you say and let me tell you what I heard I said this I said this what I heard she's no seething what I meant and then we worked through it because it happens a lot obligated affection that's cool can't verbalize it to her because when you give her something and then she hears this attachment to it now it takes away a little bit and that's not your intent because you give us so much other stuff spontaneously all right let's go to Nexus Stephanie you wrote a text message about this to your sister but it didn't go as planned what happened so I was at work and I was kind of torn because I know he's spontaneous you know and so it's okay should I feel bad anything from my birthday or Christmas and that was for my sister next thing you know I see a response that says elaborate and I realize oh my god I sent it to my husband oh you sent it to him directly to him okay so we have the text let's take a look at this exchange definitely saying am I wrong for being pissed that my husband got me nothing for my birthday or Christmas so it was a birthday and a Christmas you didn't get her nothing that was only this is the only time it ever happened let's be clear on this we still recovered we we had some financial issues we finally got everything back together again son we got you so this year I didn't have enough I took I got a hair did for her it cost a couple hundred bucks and I got some gifts for my son that's all I did I can give gifts to nobody I just didn't have the funds for it okay I got you so that's what went down this year okay I got you so then you reply elaborate yeah Stephanie you reply with shaking my head first of all that was for my sister and I apologize for the way that came out I will admit that I was hoping you got something even if it costs five books for me it's the thought love Rashid replied with thank you for your mistake bye yeah Stephanie say what do you mean so when you show when you typed thank you for your mistake by I was kind of like saying okay I appreciate you saying it was a mistake but still don't erase what you said by some essential cause just kind of that's a funky text caused me to get yeah and then like what he's explaining is y'all just y'all hit a rough spot you just wanted to have something yeah I know he's a good man and I'm really glad that we did talk it out and we salvage that moment because I'm not materialistic I I want him you know at the end of the day we don't have to have nothing you know where you going back to that okay we're gonna do some mortars when we come back we're gonna be hearing some of the things that Stephanie says to rashidi that can often escalate into some session or you watching [Applause] up next these are the growing pains of becoming a great couple sometimes you just got to go through the process don't be discouraged constantly communicate y'all can stay together 1-800 lawyers [Music] everybody back with Stephanie Rasheeda we're breaking down how common conversations a couples have can get lost in the translation so Stephanie let's take a look at some of the things you said not before we do that let me say this I know a lot of young people who have broken up over some really if you're if you've really grown and been married for a while you know that what they broke up for is really really minor and had they really understood what life was really about or how to communicate they would probably still be together because if you look back in your life you've broken up over some really trivial stuff had you all just had a better understanding so we've all been there so this really could help a lot of young people Stephanie let's take a look at some of the things you say to Rasheeda that he hears in a totally different way set this first one up for me so there was a period of time where Rasheeda was unemployed and I felt terrible because he didn't get fired he got laid off you know it's not his fault but at the same time I want to know how's the job hunt going and I know it's a sensitive subject so I would try my best to be is okay so let's start so here's what you said how's the job hunt going here's what Rasheeda here's when you say this stop judging me you don't believe that I'm man enough to provide for this family so you caught Rashid on one of them days yeah you know what I mean this probably I can already kind of tell so there's probably one of these days where he's looking at himself in the mirror man he trying to pull it together he know he know what he want to be and what he want to do and on that particular day you hit him in one of them days for a man he just up to here most men know that they posed to be providing for their family if you don't get that you missed a major lesson in man hard times can come on anybody I can understand that yeah and I felt terrible because I actually didn't want to ask but it's like I felt like we kind of need I needed to know where we were at you know so I I just I took a chance right I understand that all right let's take a look at another one this is about child care you definitely set yourself forth while yours got to be set up we have a four-year-old the four-year-old boy I'm not sure if it's just me but I'm pretty sure it's all mothers I just like to know that everything got done cuz sometimes when you leave the kid were dead sometimes things get overlooked sometimes so I just ask a question Steve I'll be like okay did did he brush his teeth did he do this just check-in okay well let's see okay here's what you say did you brush just his teeth and make sure he's washed this what was she here we what kind of father you take me for you don't think I'm careful my own son I think every man in here and said that every man in it because we don't take care of the kids the way you do I know we don't it's more just to make sure cuz sometimes sometimes it doesn't happen so not often though this is where I take from your page it's the delivery he would have been like hey how you guys doing I'm like doing great we did this we did that maybe this had been easy but he was like did he do this like what I can't it's just a question but see here the deal though can I tell you some see and he's talking about the timing see this is when you get accused of nagging nagging is tone and timing so did you brush Justin teeth is he washed how does your self oh.he fault if you brush his teeth today so you really don't have bad breath you know you can taste a little tomato sauce owner to something but no your brother he drinking here to see if he don't take a bath today he is so can I tell you something everything you're going through is God preparing you for what you asked for everything so guess what you want a bigger house you're gonna make you understand what the little house is like so when you get the big house you're gonna appreciate it you want to make more money you want to see ideas to live good he don't let you be PO for a little while so when you get the money you're gonna work harder to stay there cuz you don't want to go back to where you come from it's all a process man you all are going to be fired because you love each other these are the growing pains of becoming a great couple sometimes you just got to go through the process don't be discouraged constantly communicate y'all can stay together with communication you really can't I want to thank what do you for being here today really really nice man you good man boy real good man hey don't go anywhere folks we'll be right back still ahead what made you decide to make such a big gesture to support her I don't tolerate bullying or teasing in my class and so some of our friends were teasing Priscilla and that really upset her so I was gonna do whatever it took to make sure that she going to be able to want to win some money [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] alright what's your name Oh you from Atlanta well Omaha I've been to all in place of who you here with today just the best weekend yes okay what y'all been doing well we just got here today oh we're gonna party Oh y'all from Atlanta yes oh yeah all right so you won't win some money today come right here why we got 20 pitches up on the board every time you match those pictures up you're gonna win yourself 100 bucks I got 60 seconds on the clock you match all 20 of those pictures up that's ten matches Bianca you could walk out here with $1,000 scramble them up Shamika come in [Music] [Applause] [Music] nice to meet you how you doing big win yes coming up good now I want you to help your friend now every time you get a match you tell it to your friend we got to win a thousand dollars so time will start after you first two numbers go one seven one so 1216 [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you don't want yourself $1,000 for a wedding gift we're gonna give you $1,000 up next is there anything that you'd like to say to miss groom come here for me Uncle Pete get the same bones she cut your hair so y'all could get the same bones yeah way to look at it mornings 107.5 WBLS [Music] how's everybody welcome back look we all know kids can be brutally honest uncensored and just sometimes just mean but what my next guest saw that one of her students was being bullied she went way and above beyond the call of duty to make sure that she felt supported take a look at this when kindergarten teacher Shannon grim note a six year old student Priscilla Perez coming to school covering her head she knew something wasn't quite right came to my class she was very shy and timid she had a hat on I let her wear the hat because she wanted to keep it on she got scared when I asked her to take it off Priscilla had started the school year with a new short haircut and it wasn't long before her classmates started to tease her about it was about a month later when friends started teasing her and calling her boy and that she looked like a boy she would come to school crying not wanting to be in our classroom because of the friends who are being mean to her Shannon whose hair at the time was all the way down to her waist decided to take matters and a pair of scissors into her own hands cutting off her hair so that it matched Priscilla's I said I understand that they're curious why is she wearing a hat Shanna's brave act of compassion and support had a huge impact on young Priscilla and reignited her passion for school and learning once again I am gonna teach them academically but I'm also gonna show my students in my classroom that we are a family and that when one of us is down we need to help support and help them build them back up welcome to Opel silly [Applause] everyone is talking about your story how does that feel to be famous what made you decide to make such a big gesture to support her I don't tolerate bullying or teasing in my class and so some of our friends were teasing Priscilla cause of her short hair calling her a boy and that she had boy haircut and that really upset her that devastated her so I did was gonna do whatever it took and that meant cutting my hair to make sure that she felt supported and loved in the classroom what changes have you noticed in Priscilla since since you cut your hair so when she came to our classroom she was shy she was quiet she was very timid and now she her personalities blossom she's running around our classroom laughing and playing with our friends and learning all kinds of new things hahaha how about the other kids at the school hot hob they responded James responded extremely positively they love her and they call both of us beautiful some students come to our classroom saying they want to cut their hair like eyes so they like our short hair consumer is there anything that you'd like to say to miss grill become my here for me Huckabee did the same bones she cut your hair so y'all could get the same bows yeah that's one way to look at it what do you like to say the kids out there who are being bullied at school there's gonna be mean people all through your life I have friends who aren't so nice to me and you just have to learn to be kind no matter what and and be nice and no matter what and that you're gonna just gonna appear severe and you're gonna be strong and you're gonna keep going Wow Priscilla somebody told me that you love my little pony and Jojo bones yeah well I want you to take a look over there [Music] [Applause] [Music] so here's the deal Priscilla my friends at justice heard about your story and justice is the number one destination for all things young girls and then to empower girls to be themselves and provide a place where you feel special and included that's why they want to give you a $5,000 gift card you can buy whatever you want at their stores we're also Priscilla we've got to send you home with a bunch of My Little Pony toys okay you're welcome just to thank you all for being here what you did said it was like really above and beyond I mean you know when you cut your hair like that it gave another kid like wow here's this grown-up who I really want to be like has cut their hair so my hair must be really cool and it made a lot of other kids think so I think that was really slick thank you so much hey great job hey [Applause] [Music] [Music] everybody we all know how to protect our possessions from criminals but how do you protect your online information from cyber criminals and what happens to your credit score if you don't well it's a growing problem in America and unless you take action you could be the next victim take a look at this every two seconds identity theft strikes a new victim and each year around 1 in 15 people become a victim of identity fraud that's sixteen point seven million people in America alone year after year the cost of identity fraud amounts to over 17 billion dollars regular social media users on platforms like Facebook and Instagram face a forty six percent higher risk of fraud and those not active on social networks it takes most victims of identity theft three months to find out what's happening but 16 percent don't find out for three well everybody here to help us protect our identities from theft is the founder of ashton henry financial please welcome Ashton Henry welcome back to the show man thank you thank you Steve is it really that easy for your information to fall into the wrong hands absolutely Stephen oh so many people aren't aware that the information is easily stolen on the on the web and what happens a lot of times is that people who realize they go to get cars apartments they go to school their information is literally everywhere and identity theft thieves can have access to information if you have any type of protection so it's a very very serious issue here in the United States yeah how can your credit rating be affected as a result of I did well your credit can be affected rheumatica identity that what happens is once someone steals your identity they can go open accounts in your name they can run up your credit cards create cohen accounts as well and what would happen once your credit cause your credit card balances go over 30% then your scores are gonna drop now our challenge is financially able to help people protect the identity and make sure that doesn't happen because once that happens you know identify serious issue it takes a long time for people to even find out that the identity was stolen so not only do we help people with the identity we also monitor the credit if someone spools their credit will get alerts and we also have a credit attorney on hand if they have any kind of financial issues you can actually help them in case of identity theft and even in the case of called debt collectors calling them on our ass on them okay we got someone in the audience with the question on this very subject where's Alex hi Steve hi Ashley so recently my identity was stolen online and they were in the business cars in my name and my credit score was completely ruined how can I begin to restore my credit first thing that you want to do is establish new lines of credit so you can open a secured credit card or even a small loan you can also piggyback on one of your family members that might have a credit card with a high limit and a low balance and you also want to make sure that you pay your bills on time and you keep your credit card balances alone to establish new lines of credit so I've had situations where clients someone stole the identity took out a house in their name cars in the name had a one client and that actually had a 700 credit score someone stole his identity credit dropped to 400 we actually able to help him now he's cut his back in the 800s moving forward you know we can put a lock on your credit so no one will be able to do that to to you moving forward especially when you have a higher credit score you're more susceptible to get your identity stolen because now they can actually take your credit and go apply for things and if you don't have any type of protection on there typically most people don't find out until years later when they themselves try to go open accounts yeah anybody gonna steal your credit if you got a full hundred questions could you help her absolutely so Alex definitely want to connect with you and offer you the services so we can help you take care of a situation with your identity theft will walk you through the process or program is gonna help you walk you through the process step-by-step so you can get control and put your credit back in a great place thank you you've got this new book coming out is called the chemistry of credit that addresses all these topics tell us about that great you know the chemistry of credit actually you know put my life's work into this book i simplified credit so that people can have a better understanding of credit cuz it could be really complicated for most people I even have a chapter in there that deals specifically with identity theft so the book was written to help people have a better understanding of credit how to maintain their credit score how to build their credit score and how to deal with different situations whether it be a bankruptcy that it might be dealing with the book would explain everything I simplify the book so that you know even my 7 year old can actually tell you about credit and to also leverage the book to build a legacy for yourself and your family because your credit it has power it has a lot of weight behind it so you can actually get access to the things that you want with the best interest rates possible so you can keep more of your hard-earned dollars awesome protect your credit you need to read Ashton's book is called the chemistry of credit and all you got to do is head over to ashton henry financial.com to more information this is a smart guy folks I'm telling you you ought to check it out we'll be right back i cha before we go I want to tell you about someone
