The Spider-Man Iceberg Explained

do you guys remember spider pig in the simpsons movie i thought it was like the funniest [ __ ] when i was seven spider pig does whatever a spider pig does anyways welcome to the spiderman iceberg before we begin i'd like to point out something because some people were confused with the batman iceberg when i talked about harley quinn deathstroke and suicide squad stuff in that video as well as batman well i did that because all three of those topics are heavily related to batman so i thought it didn't matter but i still don't think it matters so not only will be talking about spider-man trippy in this video but also stop for venom spider-gwen and miles morales etc so without further ado let's talk webhead [Applause] the bombastic bag man is a pretty iconic spider-man suit after reed richard separated peter from the venom symbiotes he was left without a costume so reed being the nice guy that he is gave peter an extra fantastic four suit with a paper bag over it like that dude from fairly oddparents despite it only appearing in that one issue he makes a spider-man issue 258 it's become an extremely common outfit for you to wear in many different video games like edgy tomorrow shadow dimensions enter electro and spiderman ps4 in amazing spider on issue 130 the company quero motors wanted to promote their new new non-polluting car engine and got spider-man to proponents though peter didn't want to do it but he had to because he really needed the money at the time and so the spider mobile was born they could drive on walls had gas bombs web shooters web-filled airbags that sounds horrible and because of how absurd a spider-man car is commodore motors took back the car and peter never used it again well that and he also drove it into a lake that is until a few decades later when parker industries will get to that in a bit created a new spy mobile amazing spider-man vol 4 issue 1. though because of how silly it is it's appeared in several different continuities so after peter had his identity revealed in civil war an assassin was hired to kill peter and they kind of did a [ __ ] job as peter sensed that he was about to fire and jumped out of the way leaving may to be shot instead and so aunt may was on the brink of death and in order to save her life peter decided to make a deal with the devil aka mafesto aka the dude everyone and their mother thought was gonna be in one division to bring her back to life the price was she'd come back to life but the cost of peter and mary jane's marriage shockingly both of them agreed well the rest is history the story is very obviously universally hated for a number of obvious reasons it was hated so much that marvel released a sequel storyline called one moment in time an attempt to salvage one more day though that story was also disliked for many different reasons most recently the 2020 story arc last remains is actually a sequel to wilbur day where it deals with the consequences of the event and is also disliked though to a lesser extent apparently there's some good elements in it i personally haven't read it yet honestly they probably should just stop referencing this events and just have them get married again if you want to know more about the story go check out owen likes comics video on the subject the second tasman film was meant to start up a cinematic universe and since we're not waiting on the release of spider-man vs hobgoblin 3 you can guess the cinematic universe didn't really take off i'll go into more detail with the other cancelled films in the cinematic universe but as of right now let's just talk about 2003 chasm 3 is going to be about cloning because all great stories still floating gwen stacey and her father would come back as clones and the villains were going to be the entire sinister six and carnage would even cameo black cat would also be in the film and norman osborne would return as the king goblin remember one of the biggest problems with tasman 2 was the fact that had too many villains i guess they thought doubling the amount of villains of the last film would fix the problem this film was ultimately cancelled though because hasn't two underperformed and andrew garfield didn't exactly have the best relationship with sony jackson wheel an amazing spider-man issue 183 in 1978 was a businessman who embizzled from his company fearing he'd be caught he hired the criminal rocket racer to steal evidence that wouldn't incriminate him but hiring a criminal backfired at him so it led to rocket racer blackmilliam in response we'll try to kill himself but was saved by rocket racer and was called the insult big wheel so naturally wheel went to the tinkerer and created a giant metal wheel that could climb up buildings had guns and arms so he could get revenge on rocket racer as the big wheel he'd ultimately be defeated by spider-man but would return 20 years later as an ally as after going to jail for embezzlement he joined vil anon which is a parody of alcoholic synonymous and being a hero was part of his 12-step program there was also at least one other person with the name big wheel though his name's unknown over the years big wheels become kind of the staple of weird spider-man villains appearing in multiple different cartoons and video games so as everyone knows spider-man 4 with the cancelled sequel spirit 3. wanting to please audiences after spider-man 3's reception sam remy wrote at least four different drafts of the film but hated all of them and so sam raymond someone decided to part ways we do know a bit about what spider-man 4 would have been about as more and more information about the project has come out over the years like how john malkovich was going to play the vulture while anne hathaway would play felicia hardy though she wouldn't become black cats instead she become the vulturists though in 2013 samurai backtracked in this and said that she'd play black cats so i don't know we also know there'd be a montage of spider-man beating up villains such as the rhino who was sporting his classic design and mysterio played by bruce campbell as for surviving five well sony had engaged james vanderbilt to write spider-man 5 and 6 so they intended this to be a complete saga alright so the cologne saga i'm going to keep this short as possible because this is one of the biggest spider-man topics ever the clone saga is a comic event in the 90s that was universally hated originally meant to last only one year writers were encouraged to keep the story going for at least two more years story arc actually first started in 1975 in which the villain jackal closed spider-man and forces peter to fight the clone both men believed that the real peter parker slowly decided to work together but one of them was killed by a bomb leaving readers to wonder if the real spider-man died or the clone die then decades later in the actual cologne saya it was revealed that the clone had survived and have been named ben reilly and had taken up the mantle of the scrolled spider but then it was revealed through medical tests that peter was the clone and that bed was the original but then that was revealed to be a trick by the green goblin complicated well that's just an extremely extremely extremely summarized version of the story there was intense behind the scenes drama working on the comic because writers debated on whether or not peter was the original or that it didn't matter who was the original and that ben reilly should take over because of this there's times where peter and ben both go back and forth going wait i'm the original peter no no i'm the clone oh did i mention the third spare bank clone spider side oh and the original unsuccessful first color peter kane parker gather four clones of spider-man involved in the story arc the story was hated by fans and critics alike for a convoluted storyline an attempt at trying to write peter and mary jane out of the franchise if you want to know more about this event go check out owen likes comics and videos about the subject i highly recommend doing so because wives went over does not do it justice if i did it justice this entire section would be like 80 minutes long it's insane you played spider-man ps4 and heard you know i'm talking about a nazi controlling a swarm of bees you probably just thought that was a joke about the absurdity of some conspiracy theories but nope he was actually referencing the villain swarm who yes is a nazi who controls a swarm of bees you see during world war ii fritz von mayer was one of hitler's top scientists he escaped the war and became a beekeeper in south america where he discovered a colony of mutated bees intrigued fritz tried to enslave the queen bee as you do but failed and was devoured by them leaving only his skeleton behind but because of the mutation in the bees fritz's consciousness was absorbed by them allowing him to manipulate the hive and so now he's complete control over these bees and his entire body is made up of these bees he first appeared in champions issue 14 in 1977 and quickly became a supporting build for spider-man and no he is not related at all to dr b's for some weird reason disney re-released far from home theater it's only about a month or so after it stopped being in theaters this quote-unquote extended cuts included the one-shot pier's to-do list inserted back into the film and included at least one other scene involving mysterio that for some reason has no home video release so the only way to watch it now is for our theater reps on youtube so the 90s spider-man cartoon received a rather strange sequel series that wasn't actually a sequel despite it making very clear references to the original series anyways this series was spider-man unlimited it was a cartoon that ran from october 1999 to march 2001 but only had 13 episodes the show is about spider-man carnage and venom being transported to counter-earth another earth located in the far side of the sun i know it sounds weird just roll with it all right on this earth peter discovers a group of freedom fighters battling against the beast olds a group of animal human hybrids they're the dominant species in the planet it's a very strange series that was hindered by sony because at the time they were making sam remy's spider-man film which for some reason meant that the people making unlimited couldn't adapt any comic stories or use any of the traditional spider-man suits the series was not very successful and was quietly cancelled despite tying comic series being made that also didn't do very well spider-man versus superman has a one-shot crossover column from 1976 and isn't very realistic because if spider-man superman actually fought spidey would end up being splatted on the sidewalk let's be real anyways it's written by jerry conway and was about the two superheroes teaming up after briefly battling each other to stop lex luthor and doc from unleashing a super weapon that creates tornadoes and hurricanes worldwide to destroy the world most people know about this crossover but what many don't know is that it actually received a sequel titled superman spider-man in 1981 in which superman spider-man team up again to battle dr doom and parasite of all the villains that she could have chosen but this story is notable because it also includes hulk and wonder woman it even features brief fights between hulk and superman and spider-man in wonderland but that's not the end just yet you see the original superman spider-man stories referenced several times in men's street marvel comics like like a mosaic in 2017 and avengers forever in 1999. also to tie both spider-man batman crossovers batman vs hulk both batman daredevil crossovers and both batman punisher crossovers this universe is officially known as earth 7642 spider-verse is a 2014 event written by john semper jr takes inspiration from the spider wars duology from the 90s cartoon this story arc sees oh boy spider-man superior spider-man spider-woman silk kane spider-gwen spider-girl miles morales jessica drew 2099 spider-man mayday parker indian spider-man ultimate spider-man cartoon spider-man sparta uk punk assassin spread man ben reilly lady spider cyborg spider-man spider-man noir penny parker old man spider spider hand last stand spider-man spider cat japanese spider-man and dozens more spider-man teaming up to travel the multiverse to stop some bad news stamping inheritors who are trying to wipe out all versions of spider-man across the multiverse it's insane and was briefly revived in the 2015 secret wars event and even inspired the film into the spider-verse and the four-part ultimate spider-man story arc the verse it even received a sequel story arc in 2018 called spider geddon that brought in spider-man ps4 spider-man spider-lang spinner x and more i'd highly recommend the original event as it's absolutely insane the spot is a rather strange spider-man villain that first appeared spectacular spider-man issue 98 in 1985 his name was jonathan on and got his powers by draining the city's power on the orders of kingpin in order to create a portal however blackout occurred and began to destroy the portal now jonathan being a man of science and stupidity decided hey i'm not just walking to the portal let's see what happens when he awoke he was in an alternate dimension but luckily for him he was able to escape though when he returned to his universe his body was covered with tiny little dimensional portals and so he decided from supervillain called the spot as the spot he's able to create and throw portals from his body at enemies but like i said they have to be from his body so if he runs out of them on his body he can't really do anything unless he goes and collects them he's a really strange villain who actually managed to travel to the small screen two times as he appeared the 90s cartoon and the 2017 cartoon oh right and he founded the team the legion of losers once i mean the boys is a meme consisting of the 60s cartoon versions of rhino vulture electro and green goblin looking really smug and just hanging out you know just being dudes not much else to say other than this better somehow be referenced into the spiderworts 2. what's better than this guys being dudes just like with all movies the same ribby and trilogy chasm duology and mcu spider-man films all have deleted scenes for spider-man 1 there's peter creating web shooters instead of having organic webbing stan lee having a completely different cameo where he tries to sell peter's sunglasses and peter accidentally revealing his identity to some kids before telling them to keep it a secret in spider-man 2 there's a scene which jonah puts on the spider-man outfit pretends to be him peter calming down harry at his birthday party a scene in which mary jane's friend explains to her what love is a scene which peter declines the guy in the elevator's ideas for branding and finally a scene in which spider-man is thrown into a building by doc ock before continuing their fight most if not all of these scenes are actually put back into the film the extended cut of the movie finally in spider-man 3 there's a venom jump scare that was cut sandman's daughters building a sand castle out of sandman harry clapping against mary jane breaks up with peter the final scene the film being one final web swing venom reattaching himself to peter more scenes of harry monologging to norman osborne a scene in which a kid pretends to be spiderman in central park and finally a scene in which penny's doctor dr wallace explains to sandman that penny can't be cured and to not kill spider-man in tasm one there's a scene where lizard flicks a teenage girl's face in the bathroom um alright guys what was this for a running gag about peter buying eggs was cut the lizard devouring roth in front of peter was cut a scene in which connor was telling his kid he was going away was deleted from the film a scene in which peter's skateboards in the middle of manhattan causing him to use his spider scent and jump out the way was also scrapped and finally a scene in which dr connors appears in peter's doorstep and offers his city after uncle ben's murder in tasm 2 peter's dad steals the assassin's gun and sees that the pilot replay is dead peter's dad comes out of nowhere back from the grave and talks to peter glenn's grave this is personally my favorite deleted scene of all time just for how absurd it is like what how how is he alive what was the point of this where the [ __ ] he been all these years a scene in which flash thanks gwen for tutoring him harry showing peter a battle suit prototype harry murdering a bunch of dudes at oscorp with pumpkin bombs before spotting felicia hardy there he then orders the leave and then leaves himself electro celebrating his birthday until the power gets shut down which requires him to fix his mom's oxygen tank and then tells her that it's his birthday only for her to make fun of him and finally a seat in which spider-man throws a manhole cover at rhino that was in literally every trailer for the movie but not in the actual film itself in homecoming peter accidentally saves the chancellor of germany peter ned and mj watches damage control still cleaning up after the events of winter soldier aaron davis calls miles morales and apologizes that he can't make it to their meet up a bunch of kids start taking selfies with shocker who's still trapped in a webbing on the side of a school bus and a scene in which ned wishes peter luck on his mission to take down vulture to which peter responds wishing ned good luck with his math quiz in infinity war there was a scene in which spider-man is forced to rescue the guardians of the galaxy when theno sends them all flying this scene was actually leaked on the internet almost an entire year before infinity war came out and everyone thought it was fake and finally and far from home there's an entire sequence in which peter and the iron spider armor defeats the manfredi crime family these scenes would later be turned into its own one shot titled peter's to-do list peter sells all his toys by mj necklace which was also included in this short a scene in which peter puts on tony stark's glasses at the airport and asks aunt may for her opinion on them and finally a scene in which mysterio preps his team for the attack on london was cut from the film the outfalls of the four group of super villains turned anti-heroes who worked with spider-man for a time being led by silver stable they first appeared in one with spider-man issue 50 from 1989 the team consisted of will lewis rocket racer puma prowler and sandman they were formed together by silver sable spider-man after spider-man was framed for robbery however after the job was complete they broke up shortly afterwards in web of spider-man annual issue 7 in 1991 also while not being related i might as well mention this here this isn't the only time sandman's become a good guy he actually joined the avengers for a time being after being recruited by captain america in avengers 329 in 1991 before becoming a full-time member in captain america issue 385 in 1981 though this didn't exactly last for too long as in peter parker spider-man issue 12 in 1999 he starts doing evil again marvel zombies of the franchise created in 2005 started out with a five-issue series written by robert kirkman it's about a universe in the marvel multiverse that as the name suggests has been taken over by zombies however these zombies or specifically the marvel heroes and villains who get turned into zombies still retain most of their sentience it's become a pretty popular continuity and is even said to be partially adapted in the upcoming mcu series what if but why am i talking about it here after all it's the spire of an iceberg not a marvel iceberg well because spider-man's in it and he plays a pretty big role in it in this universe peter parker actually devours both opmay and barry jane along with jonah and after devouring the rest of the world alongside his fellow zombie heroes he helped devour galactus and travel the entire world universe eating quite literally everything in existence eventually spider-man travels to another universe where he decides to try to cure the zombie virus instead of finding one he turns sandman into the ultimate weapon and has him kill every single zombie from every single universe including himself his final words were thanking sandman for avenging out may and mary jane i should also probably mention this universe's sandman became the ultimate weapon killed his universe's spider-man because he thought he was a zombie pretty [ __ ] graphic jesus christ but you'd never see sandman willingly vore himself into spider-man oh my god i wish i hadn't spider gwen aka my wife was created by jason lander and robbie rodriguez which is pretty much exactly what our name implies in this universe wednesdays he was bitten by the spider instead of peter and in this universe peter vengeance blizzard she's become an extremely popular character ever since her creation which led her to appear in multiple different comic runs appearances in both tv shows and film even starring in a film in the future and has crossed over with the mainline marvel continuity several times she's even become venom at multiple points and is currently going by the name ghost spider she's also become marvel's most popular ultra universe character while not counting miles morales since he's jumped the mainline continuity oh wait but so is she yeah now she regularly commutes to the mainline universe's empire state university from her own timeline so i guess she's done an alternate universe character anymore whatever point is she's a fun character and has pretty much become the default for glenn stacy ever since her introduction from 1977 to 1979 a live-action spider-man series named the amazing spider-man aired on cbs that lasted 13 episodes in two seasons it started nicholas hammond with peter robert f simon as j jones jameson and literally a new actress every single episode that not may appeared in while the show did pretty well in ratings it was actually hated by fans at the time for not adapting comic story lines and not having a single super villain in the series despite this the show received three different tv movies well a pilot film and then two two-parters that were sold as films overseas but hey they count right however in the 1980s there was an attempt to revive the show in an interview in 2002 nicholas hammond revealed that an amazing spider-man reunion film was being worked on peter would even donned the black suit in the film i'll go further into detail into this project a bit later as it includes another one of marvel's heroes raving memes is exactly what it sounds like it's a subreddit dedicated to means based on the rhyming trilogy really not much else to say other than the web sleeking maniac lord luldemort who is making memes based on every single line of dialogue from the first film from 2014 to 2015 a six-issue crossover series between spider-man and x-men was written called well spider-man the x-men it's been extremely notable in my opinion except for one scene that's become a meme online in the second issue peter and the x-men confront dinosaur-like villains sauron and stegaron to which they discover their plan is to turn the entire population of earth into dinosaurs swiper then asks you can rewrite dna on the fly and you're using it to turn people into dinosaurs with death like that you could cure cancer to which someone responds with but i don't want to kill cancer i want to turn people to dinosaurs truthfully a goal that everyone can get down with so what if venom was an agent for the u.s government enter agent vetom after flash thompson becomes bonded to vettel in order to heal his legs he begins working for the united states government as agent vetom he first appeared in making spirit issue 654 in 2011 and would even get his own solo series however while venom gives him strength he can't stay bonded to venom for more than 48 hours at a time or venom will take full control over him and berserk as agent venom not only was he part of the us military but also he was part of the secret avengers and guardians of the galaxy at one point later on after venom returns to eddie brock flash gets bonded with the new symbiotes that becomes a new anti-venom thus becoming agent anti-venom in amazing spider-man venom ink alpha issue 1 in 2017 what about full look i'm gonna be honest here i'm not really a fan of agent vetom design-wise is cool but i really don't like the idea but it worked for the government but hey if you like them that's totally cool the amazing adventures of spider-man it's a 3d motion-based dark ride located in universal studios it was opened in 1999 and still is operational to this day it uses special roving motion vehicles with physical sets and 3d projection and as you help out spider-man battle dog electro hydro man cobb goblin and scream of all characters as guests enter the ride they go through the daily bugle and are subjected to jonah's rants it's received critical acclaimed and i've actually been on it myself it's really great if you're ever in universal studios check it out [Applause] in the early 90s james cameron sent in a screenplay to carolco pictures with a screenplay before a spider-man film in a dab the sweater and origin story and feature electro and sandman as the main villains electro would be a parody of capitalism okay and sandman would have been mutated in a philadelphia style experiment basically adam nixon that resulted in a new i'd recommend go researching the philadelphia experiment yourself it's a weird [ __ ] thing that's obviously not real but people think it is the final battle would also take place in the world trade center and feature heavy profanity and have a scene where spider and mary jane have sex on the brooklyn bridge however the film never happened because of contract disputes rights issues and a whole bunch of legal stuff i don't understand because i'm not smart enough i'd highly recommend checking out super void cinema's video on the subject they do an excellent job of covering it is a character created by larry hama tom defalco and mark armstrong the first appeared marvel tales starring peter porker of the spectacular spider-man ham in 1983 before getting his own solo series stories including secret wars marvel zombies web warriors and spider-verse in fact it's actually appeared in spider-verse film and a cartoon series about him it's currently being discussed it's a very spider-man that's appeared in several different comics his first appearance was marvel fanfare issue 2 in 1982 which despite about an angel are captured by the villain brainchild during a trip to the savage lands there brainchild transforms peter into a monster version of himself however peter eventually regains his consciousness and was eventually cured later during a battle plant man peter would also be partially transformed into man spider and that's pretty much the end of them in the comments though man spider would make an appearance in three episodes of the 90s cartoon a single spider-man unlimited episode and an episode in ultimate spider-man an amazing spider-man issue 130 131 taco and aunt may are almost married yes i said 130. peter gets the spyro beal and almost has his arch nemesis marry his aunt in the same day this story has been built up to the comics ever since a meeting spider-man 215 but why would daca try to marry aunt may well inheritance you see aunt may was given an inheritance that wasn't something like money or anything like that but the nuclear breeding reactors in canada so yes aunt may technically owned a nuclear power plant for a bit and dock wanted to gain control over it so he could take over the world in the 2004 spectacular spider-man story arc changes peter's mutation worsens after a new villain named queen shows up and infects spider-man with the eugenic enzyme through a kiss this turns peter into a giant spider no not man spider just a giant spider who dies at the end of the comic only to give birth to peter parker who now has organic webbing and a psychic liquid insects and arachnids genuinely horrifying imaginary into a spider and then giving birth to yourself spiderman turned off the dark was a 2011 broadway musical about spider-man that include highly technical stunts and aerial combat scenes it tells the story of peter becoming spider-man and green goblin creating the sinister sex by creating carnage electro craven the hunter lizard swarm of all characters and an original villain swiss miss problem is there's technically seven of them so it's not really the sinister six but whatever all these characters have absolutely nothing to do with their comic counterparts except for their names and designs for example carnage is even a serial killer he's just a non-scope employee other characters in the show include arachnid who's a greek goddess with spider powers who desperately wants to bang peter yep okay the show received a mixed reception and had several different injuries stunt double kevin albin broke his both of his wrists another actor broke his feet natalie mendoza suffered a concussion stunt performer christopher teneri was injured to refill 21 feet off a piece of scenery when his harness failed daniel curry suffered leg trauma after being pinned under a piece of equipment and tv carpio injured her neck yeah this wasn't exactly a very safe work environment it showed its last performance on january 4th 2014 with a historic massive financial loss as spider-man turn off the dark was and still is the most expensive broadway production in history with a budget of 75 million and it never made back that money for more information this train wreck i'd recommend watching the weight in the wings video on it the 90s smartphone cartoon is originally going to have a sixth and final season we know of at least a couple of plot lines that women this season one plot saw spider-man traveling to 19th century london where he'd finally find mary jane invite carnage who'd be revealed to be jacket ripper well let me rephrase that that story was a script treatment written in 2016 by john simpler jr of a writer for the show and was about to tie up the show's new sentence it's highly likely that a story about peter finding mary jane was planned but whether or not he traveled to london is a completely different story it's entirely possible he just made it up in 2016 for the story script also there are rumors about norton oswald returning from limbo to take back the royal green goblin there are also rumors that a crossover with the hulk series was planned a team up with ghost rider was planned where they'd fight mysterio and dormammu and an episode that had paid tribute to the series spider-man and his amazing friends in which firestar and iceman would appear with their respective voice actors spidey beats the president was a comic featured in the amazing spider-man issue 583 in 2009 where chameleon pretends to be barack obama which leads to spider-man asking the both of them a question that only the real obama would know what was his nickname during his college days when chamillion is revealed the secret service arrests him while obama tells spyro that he's a fan of us the comic is mostly well known but what isn't well known is the prequel story the amazing spider-man presence day special that has chameleon trap obama and his tailor however obama escapes and is driven to his inauguration by joe biden john he's not a muslim he's a decent family man mccain also cameos in it so i mentioned earlier that sony wanted the amazing spider-man to be the star of the cinematic universe so besides tasm 3 what other films they have planned well a venom spin-off which i'll talk about later and a sinister six solo film because you can totally make these guys protagonists who are they even fighting the movie spider-man a crave of the hunter movie that's uh still being made apparently a fourth amazing spider-man film a female-centered spin-off film that either stars spider gwen or spider girl a spider-man 2099 film that was set for released in 2017 and a black cat villains released the same year also a not made prequel film where she was a spy in the 60s and 70s he had a very dumb idea and sony denied the last one was ever in the cards but during the sony hacks it was revealed through an email that yes the opmay spy thriller was in fact at one point in discussion to being made there were also plans for a jackal film and a carnage film in which spider-man spider-man 2099 venom and black cat all team up to stop him also a second spider-man 29 film was in talks and when she's trapped in present-day new york and trying to get back to his time and the villain in the film would be scorpion of all characters spider-man the new animated series with a cell shaded cartoon released in 2003 lasting only 13 episodes and aired on mtv unique to the show was that it was actually canon to the review trilogy well the first film yeah after the first film there's two different branching timelines one in which spider-man two and three happen and in one which the cartoon happens anyways they showed a bunch of villains like crave the hunter electro kingpin the lizard there's even a character named talon who's inspired by black cats also michael clark duncan plays kingpin in this yup the same guy who played kingpin in the 2003 daredevil film another funny thing about the show was that aunt may was not allowed to appear in the show why well because mtv executives fear that the appearance of any elderly person would deter their audience of pre-teens and teenagers from watching it honestly that's one of the funniest restrictions in any show ever like imagine being 15 watching the show and you're like wow spider-man's awesome he's badass and then suddenly aunt may walks the screen you're like ugh never mind this show sucks oh god also rob zombie plays the lizard for whatever reason i respect this show a lot for trying to be a darker take on spider-man but i personally could never get into it as i couldn't get past the animation spiderman invented maximum carriage the game that wasn't really liked back in the day was released in 1994. directly based on the comic of the same name the game has to play as either spider-man or venom in order to take down cartilage and crew super villains there's a side-scrolling beat em up and had's cutscenes take direct scenes from the comics ported into the game like i said earlier this game wasn't really liked because of how difficult it was in its terrible control scheme however in recent years people have actually begun to taking a liking to it with people calling it a pretty faithful adaptation of the comic and the challenging difficulty being a pro now people also praise the game's soundtrack which i gotta meant is pretty great it was done by the american rock band green jelly the amazing spider-man was a comic strip that ran from january 3rd 1977 to march 23rd 2019 and will be published in newspapers it was a dramatic soap opera style comment that the story arc has probably run for 8 to 12 weeks instead of adapting storylines to the comics almost the entire run was instead filled with original stories in its own separate continuity in fact only three stories were adapted from the comics the mutant agenda the wedding and brand new day brand new day being a sequel to one more day and because brand new day as extension to warmer day was so hated stan lee opted that in the comic strip universe it'd be revealed that that storyline was just a bad dream some of the comics major villains included the rhino mysterio craven and doctor doom i don't know what the obsession is of making doctor doom aspiring villain there's a very very clear power difference here the strips had so many artists working on over the years it's impossible to name them all no really a good chunk of the artists were actually ghost artists so good luck finding out who they were thankfully you can actually read all these comics for yourself as there's been numerous collections of them released over the years i'd recommend the ultimate newspaper comic collection as that seems to be the best collection in the video game x2 wolverine's revenge which was released as a tie-in for the x2 despite the game not being set in that film series timeline but whatever there was a deleted scene involving spider-man showing up if the player collects all dog tags a cut scene is unlocked which spider-man shows up asking wolverine if he needs help fighting magneto twitch wolverine declines side note wolverine this game is voiced by mark hamill which is really really weird to me easy there buddy you picked a bad day to come sneaking up on me bubba i'd see you straight off your home turf a bit godzilla mendoza is a youtuber who's repeatedly said he's not a spider-man youtuber but he sure talks about spider-man quite a lot he's a great channel with a variety of content outside of mr webhead i'd highly recommend these videos as they're my favorite from him oh and of course the spy brain game retrospective series which is actually how i found out about his channel like in god 2015 jesus christ where the hell is time going he also wrote a finale to the spider-man animated series in the 90s i checked that out too oh and i briefly goofed with him on twitter once is this what the kids refer to as epic japanese spider-man was a show very very loosely based on spider-man as in yeah takeo yamashiro the protagonist of the show wears the spider-man costume but when it comes to his powers they're completely different in fact his entire story is completely different the show is about how he finds a ufo crash-landed on earth and finds the last surviving warrior of planet spider alive on it basically think of green lantern where this warrior then dies and gives his powers to takia in order for him to continue to fight against the evil iron cross army an alien army that planted the rule of universe spider in this show also is a flying car and a mech called leo pardon in which he'd use it to fight kaiju-sai's enemies it ran for 41 episodes and even had a movie released in 1978 that takes place in between the 10th and 11th episodes it's an insane series that might see a resurgence soon as very recently was teased that takeo yoshimiro's spider-man will be featured in some capacity and into the spiders too to what extent we'll have to wait and see also spider-man uses the gun on this show at one point so like with the star wars iceberg there's been so many spider-man games i can't explain every single game difference with every installment so i'll do the ones i know it was about first stop is with shadows while the pc ps3 and xbox 360's version of the games are all open world action games the ps2 and psp versions were side-scrolling beat-em-ups that followed entirely different plots called web of shadows the amazing allies edition the game also features jackal nick fury shocker and spider-woman in the game and there's also a nintendo ds version that's also a sidespilling beat-em-up but it's more like a castlevania style game also the game's plot begins midway through the main game story and features nightcrawler and green goblets major characters then we have spiderman 2 in which the pc version of the game isn't open world at all but it's instead a linear level based game there's also the psp version it's also just a level-based beat-em-up oh and there's also the engage port how can i forget it's um it's a game there's also the gameboy advance version which is a 2d side scroller and features pizza as the as the game's lives counter pizza time as for spider-man 3 the ps2 wii and psp versions of the game are all still an open world game but featured an entirely new subplot based around morbius and shriek as for the gameboy advance and ds versions while they're just 2d side sprawlers as usual what's interesting about the gameboy advance version is that it features the villain's electro and mad bomber as well as samuel venom in fact venom actually survives in this game and the game ends with a cliffhanger screenshot saying the end finally we have the amazing spider-man game in which the ps3 vita wii u xbox 360 and pc versions of the game were all roughly the same but the 3ds and wii ports of the game have you selecting levels from a hub world 7 open world area oh and there's also an ios version of the game that is um well very different obviously what do we got here i think the freak show was down at coney island kid am i supposed to laugh at that one i just popped in to introduce myself the name's spider-man creep and you'll be thinking about me a lot from inside of a jail cell you're gonna be sorry you messed with us spider freak robin this bank may be all about business but we're gonna take you out for free for free you say and here i was all worried because i left my spider wallet in the other costume let's squash this bug and get the loot [Music] originally thought out to be at least 65 episodes and five seasons long spectacular spider-man was cancelled only after 26 episodes in two seasons in 2009. people were confused as to why though i mean it was a critically acclaimed series for both fans and critics alike why would we be canceled well it was reported that was counseled by disney after they purchased marvel well why can't they just revive the show like how they revived clone wars well it's pretty complicated you see sony owns the rife the spectacular spider-man and all the production elements created specifically for it like character designs and story lines but marvel owns the rights to produce spider-man shows so neither company can actually continue the series thankfully we do know about some canceled plans for the third season that being that scorpion hydra man hobgoblin carnage and mr negative would have been the main villains and in the third season dr connors would also begin to work on a cure for electro there'd also be straight to dvd movies that take place in between seasons and after the show finished up there'd be straight to dvd sequel films that cover peter's college years in marriage to mary jane in 2021 phantom tried to revive the show once again through twitter movements but i sadly don't think it was gonna happen i hope it does but it doesn't seem likely so in the spidey super stories comics which i'll talk about later there was an issue which spider-man comes to face-to-face with one of the strangest villains funny bunny you see funny bunny was originally a little girl who loved easter well one day when a bully sat on an easter basket presumably getting egg yolk over his pants with a [ __ ] idiot she vowed to ruin everyone's easter by stealing children's easter egg baskets and so spider-man caught her when she broke into the white house's easter egg roll event and began stealing baskets but because she broke into the white house lawn she's technically a terrorist now her only appearance has been spidey super stories issue 9 1975 and let's be real here she will never make it another appearance so take spider-verse but now it's venom yeah that's kind of it venom versus historic in 2017 written by cullen bunn about dr strange recruiting venom into an ongoing war between venoms and poisons who makes up the venom army alright there's doctor strange captain america spider-man mary jane x-23 ghost rider rocket raccoon black panther ant-man a different asian venom deadpool and mania meanwhile the poisons beings that feed on humans who partner with symbiotes turning them into some kind of weird creature have gwenpool hulk hawkeye doctor doom groot ghost rider craven the hunter iron fist blade carnage captain america morbius punisher saber tooth scarlet witch and scorpion look the point is that there's a bunch of alternate universe versions of characters and they're fighting what i know this event wasn't nearly as popular spider-verse which isn't surprising since it didn't get even remotely the amount of same marketing as spiders did so in marvel what if issue 7 in 1978 told three different stories about what would happen if three different people became spider-man to the peter first we have flash thompson who becomes captain spider but because he doesn't know how to create web shooters because he's a jock no really that's the official explanation vulture drops him from the sky and he falls to his death while peter parker watches for whatever reason then there's betty branch as spider girl who well that's a costume i guess oh my god that's awful betty actually retires to being spider girl pretty early on though after she punches the guy who killed uncle ben to death and finally we have colonel john jameson my son the astronaut who becomes spider jameson and well he dies he's given a jet pack and he tries to catch a space capsule falling to earth but he's not strong enough so he dies lesson is only peter parker could be spider-man or gwen stacy or mary jane or miles morels or ben riley or well the point is that i guess these three can't so back when marvel and dc did their crossover where they combined their characters spider-man combined with superboy this character was named peter ross aka spider-boy released in 1996 the one-shot spider boy told the story of peter ross who after seeing his uncle get murdered swore he'd face danger and that he'd become the center of attention so that others wouldn't have to with his spider-like powers and a special pistol that shot webs he went on to battle king lizard and insect queen who was actually emerging watson oh and did i mention he was also adopted by thunderbolt ross now this is the part where you expect me to say he was never seen again just like all the other characters from this crossover well actually no he makes a very very very brief cameo in spider-verse issue 2 in 2014 released in 2009 marvel created a one-shot comic called the amazing spider-man on bully prevention that's maybe canon to the main timeline i don't know in this spider-man battles the brace who's a dude that peter once knew briefly in ninth grade peter was too afraid to help the guy as he was getting bullied in front of him so basically this dude wanted to become a super villain because peter was too chicken [ __ ] to help him oh yeah and he has like advanced warfare exo armor from a bunch of spider-man's villains who basically did that thing that bullies would do in high school where they'd send someone to take the fall to go and harass someone after escaping spider-man the brace goes back to his apartment to find sandman rhino and i don't know who the [ __ ] that is is that a character waiting for him they're pissed because now spider ends onto them and so they beat him to death and that's the end of the comic uh yeah so kids please help people who are being bullied because if you don't they're going to become super villains and eventually be beaten to death by a man made of sand only appearing in spidey super stories issue 8 in 1975 joshua waldy meyer was working as a construction worker with suddenly a random explosion sent him flying into a wall but instead of the wall killing the dude he was turned into a living wall so basically he began to stumble around causing mayhem until spider-man confronted him when he eventually it stumbled into a new york mets game spider-man engaged the concrete wall with a fight but was unable to actually hurt him because well i mean he's just punching concrete then the mets umpire came out and yelled at both of them causing the two of them to leave the stadium and talk things over what else is there to say besides the fact that the wall is probably the greatest villain of all time a true tragic figure turned into the very thing he loved to create only become a monster hated by society and the new york mets first appearing in amazing spirit issue 139 in 1974 maxwell markham was given an exosuit from jackal to attack the daily bugle in an attempt to get revenge on j john jameson for ruining his wrestling career as he brought a scathing editorial calling him out on his brutal wrestling tactics but spider-man showed up and defeated him at the end of the day he's just a former wrestler and an exo suit in a bear suit so furry from being one of the many villains captured by cribbing the hunter and put into an animal-themed superhuman zoo battling spider-man and stephen colbert who was running for president don't ask i don't know or care to even join the thunderbolts and the legion of losers he's had quite the career over the years but has never really been taken seriously but don't feel too bad for him he said before he's used his kids college fund to pay for superhuman fangs in the early 80s orion pictures had the rights to a spider-man film and they wanted roger corman yes 90 is fantastic for roderick corbin to direct it so why didn't this film happen well budget reasons you see corbin hired stan lee to write the script but stan lee wanted to create a big budget superhero film with action drama the whole nine yards well corbin wanted to do it for the cheap because of this conflict production kept getting pushed back until eventually orion pictures got tired of it and just let the rights to spider-man expire in marvel team-up issue 74 in 1978's spider-man battle silver samurai with the help of bill murray dan aykroyd and his weird vodka crystal skulls jane curtin john volushi and more basically the main saturn internet live cast in the late 70s so in this story silver samurai takes the snl crew hostage and spider-man rushes him to save the day but the snl crew aren't exactly ready to become hostages so they fight back and actually beat the [ __ ] out of a majority of silver samurai's goons some of them even dawning costumes based on marvel heroes like thor and captain marvel so for samurai my man i didn't care for the elon musk thing either but i mean there are better ways of handling shitty comedy first appearing in marvel team-up issue 131 in 1983 dr lorena dodson was a huge fan of alice in wonderland who was extremely sheltered as a kid eventually she became a trophy wife who then murdered her husband and afterwards began buying a bunch of gadgets in order to begin a career in robbing fast food places as the white rabbits imagine working at mcdonald's at like three in the morning and this chick rolls in demanding money anyways she then almost beat the 15 year old superhero frogman to death until spider-man showed up since then she'd become a minor villain that's appeared occasionally in random comics throughout the years she did several different designs over the years and she's even become the queen of a tribe of cannibals at one point oh yeah she also has a giant mech rabbit and has used genetically altered bunny rabbits in order to create an army for herself yeah she's not really a character many people take too seriously or is used in any kind of serious context ever really marvel 1602 is exactly what it sounds like a universe in which marvel heroes existed during the early 1600s while this series features hulk daredevil the x-men doctor strange and the fantastic four it also includes spider-man who even has own mini-series peter farquha is sir nicholas fury's apprentice was orphaned and later brought to london by fury himself during his time as the spider peter would battle the lizard knock ock and green goblin before eventually being killed in the spider-verse event though this wouldn't be the last time the spider-man side of 1602 would be seen as in the web warriors arc the web warriors themselves traveled there to battle that universe's sinister six the spider's outfit is also an unlockable skin spider-man's shadow dimensions so in early 2010s marvel decided to turn peter parker into a bruce wayne and tony stark type playboy now peter parker became the president and ceo of parker well industries mean he was kind of forced into the role you see during the time which doc was inside peter's body he created the company and so when peter got back his body he was kind of left with the position some of the stuff done by this multi-billion dollar company is fix flash thompson's legs after he got them injured during the war in iraq and fix aunt may's hip try and cure electro riker's island the spider armor mark iv an anti-goblin formula the hydro spider which is a submarine made for spider-man okay the spider copter which is a helicopter built for spider-man the spider cycle and the web jets both being more vehicles made for spider-man why would spider-man need vehicles why would he stop basically just all spider-man related stuff except for that time they built mockingbird suit for her the company then went over however once stock attempted to take back control of the company in retaliation to in retaliation peter activated a worm that destroyed all the company's programs which basically destroyed the company i'm personally not a fan of this idea of like multi-billion dollar peter parker kind of destroys the whole idea of like a friendly neighborhood spider-man you know if i can only get unstuck i'll be swinging in one of my most fearsome foes next week something new is shaking from chef boyardee and kids everywhere are getting into it new spider-man popped up wow come on let's show mysterio the ropes kid hello looks like he'll be hanging around for a while totally webbed out spiderman shape smothered in secret sauce new spiderman pasta from chef boyardee so hot it's practically radioactive thank goodness for chef boyardee and now back to marvel's ultimate spider-man versus the sinister six on disney xd [Music] so in 2004 there was a story arc titled sins past and told the survey how when petering when stacey were dating gwen cheated on them yeah kind of a weird thing to retcon but okay who was it with well norman osborne yep gwen stacy and green goblin [ __ ] but that's not just it you see gwen stacy got pregnant from norman and had twins and when gwen told norman that she'd raise him with peter and refuse to let him see them norman killed her as the green goblin so you know that iconic panel where spider-man's holding gwen stacy's dead body yeah that only happened because she cheated on peter anyways like clone troopers from star wars the kids just kind of aged rapidly because of norman's enhanced dna peter then realized that they were gwen's kids but in order to confirm it he needed to dig up gwen's grave to check her dna yeah it's kind of one of if not the very worst spider-man story ever created in fact it was so hated that they even tried to wreck content with one more day but marvel refused to let them so the one good thing one more day could have done they could he couldn't even do this story even had a sequel art titled sins remembered that wasn't light either so what if spider-man had his own dark knight rises well that's what spider-man reign was meant to be the story was released from 2006-2007 and was written by cara andrews it's about peter 30 years in the future where new york city is now in authoritarian territory under control of mayor waters but hey there's no crime also superheroes are illegal and uh well mayor waters keeps a vegetative kingpin prisoner i don't i don't know i don't i don't know i don't know why they thought this was a good idea so eventually he becomes spider-man again which causes mare waters to release electro mysterio craven the hunter sandman scorpion and hydra man out to fight him basically the sinister oh i'm sorry the sinner sex peter has been defeated by craven but is saved by doc who brings peter to mary jane's grave peter then digs up her grave and takes back his classic suit because yes he buried his classic suit with her peter then goes on the stop mare waters in the center six oh yeah and in the first issue you can see elderly peter parker's dick and balls what the [ __ ] why would you okay what is it with the comic industry going we're making a story for adults as we all know adults only watch things if there are dicks in it if they have duty to get it no we can't have a cabbage subject matter no we should throw in [ __ ] and balls and asses and tits if they missed the killing joke nowadays they'd somehow throw in a shot of joker's [ __ ] just for good measures to show that yup this comic's for adults this comic was pretty widely hated for various reasons that are pretty obvious it's just a really needlessly cruel and weird story oh yeah answer feel that mary jane died because of cancer she got from years but during peter's radioactive come no i'm not making that up that's uh that's legit reason why they thought this was acceptable i don't know i really i really don't know so everyone knows the spider web of shadows has multiple endings two of them one good and evil well in actuality the game actually has four different endings there's two variations for both good and bad the variations for the good ending are peter apologizing to mary jane but not getting back together with her and an ending in which she does get back together with her while the bad ending variations are peter becoming the ruler of new york city by himself or becoming the ruler of new york with his queen black cat spider-man life story is an alternate universe mini series written by chip zadarski that ran in 2019 this series tells the story of peter parker's entire life from the 1960s to the 2010s basically we just see peter as spider-man in each decade and how his life's changing him it's really really good probably my favorite spyro comic in years because it's so recent i don't want to spoil it so please do yourself a favor go check it out so everyone knows about that i'm from 2018 right well did you know that that film has been in development hell since 1997. you see the first version of the film was written by david s goyer and would have had venom played by dolph lugran and would have featured carnage the main antagonist now obviously this film didn't happen and so years later in 2007 sony began developing their own venom film which would be a spin-off from spyro 3. you see originally eddie brock would only be in sparring 3 for a little bit for having his own film this version of the film went through many different writers with many different takes to the character for example one take was described as a realistic grounded more dark take on the character however once spider-man 4 was cancelled all interest in the venom film faded until 2012 when the amazing spider-man was released sony then wanted to make the venom film separate from tazza before connecting them with the main series in the fourth installment like the mcu the film is titled venom carnage and scheduled for 2017 with alex kurtzman set to direct the only thing we know about this film besides carnage being the main villain was that it was quote unquote an eddie brock's story while this film never happened seeds of the film were planted in towson too as bennett himself can be briefly seen in the legendary villain room but then once the tazon versus cancelled so was that version of venom so they decided to rework the project into its own thing but then canceled in 2015. finally the venom we all know love was put into production 2016 and eventually releasing in 2018 finally ending this long development hell so everyone knows what the 60 spyrin cartoon the 90s cartoon spectacular spider-man ultimate spider-man and the 2017 spider-man series and now that you've watched this you know about unlimited and the new animated adventures and there's a good chance you know about spider-man and his amazing friends since it's kind of a cult show on the spider-man fan base but what you probably don't know is there was actually a 26-episode spider-man cartoon released from 1981-1982 spider-man 81 was done by toy animation and marvel productions it featured a ton of spider-man villains like doc ock kingpin green goblin hammerhead kraven the hunter vulture mysterio red skull magneto and doctor doom just name a few wait magneto and red skull yeah this show really liked the guest characters as captain america medusa and neymar show up the series to help out spider-man well the first two do a name or just kind of wreck [ __ ] when he shows up and so of course red skull comes with cap but magneto just kind of shows up i think this is the only story in which magneto and spider-man had like a one-on-one battle anyways this show it's a really weird stories like how chameleon pretends to be ben parker's ghost and peter believes it and nasa appears a lot on the show for whatever reason like the vulture tries to take control but nasa probe at one point and sandman uses martian dust from nasa to go on a crime spree it's a really unique series to say the least so we all know spearman's had countless comics cartoons and movies over the years but did you know there's been an insane number of spider-man novels released over the years and i'm not just talking about novel adaptations of the movies or the novel adaptation of craven's last hunt there's a sinister six trilogy written from 1998-2002 venom's wrath in 1998 valley of the lizard in 1998 as well crime campaign in 1979 down these mean streets in 2005 hostile takeover in 2018 emerald mystery in 2000 the spider-man super thriller series from 1996 to 1997 in which that series had five installments written in just two years i can't imagine the quality was affected by that oh and there's also the mary jane duology from 2003 2004 spiro anomals are still being ridden to this day with the latest one miles morales wings of fury being released in 2020. spider-man live is a full-length stage show that began in 2002 and ended in 2003 it told the story of peter becoming spider-man and battling green goblin basically the first film just turned into an hour-long stage show it had a ton of effort put into it like art flying illusions japanese stunts pyrotechnics and multimedia effects so in spare and ps4 one of the collectibles is located at the top of some random skyscraper it's a backpack that contains a vial containing sandman yes in the spiderman ps4 continuity peter captured sandman and put him into a tiny vial put that vial into a backpack and left that backpack to the mercy of the elements that's [ __ ] cruel dude that's insane first appearing in amazing spider-man annual 38 in 2011 this version of peter parker was just your average spider-man with a cape oh and uncle ben never actually died in this universe and he trained peter to become a hero until an incredible hulk's annual number one he becomes ghost writer thus becoming ghost spider despite his awesome design he's only appeared in like a handful of stories since 2011. no really it's like five or six stories max though he did appear as a skin spider-man ps4 i was originally going to include spider-man 2.1 of this video but i figured hey most people know about that kind of film already it's practically the definitive version of the film but then i remember that in 2017 a new cut of sparring three titled the editors cut was released and the spider-man limited edition blu-ray collection that not many people know about it features unused music three new scenes three alternate scenes and an extended scene there's certain scenes that are shifted around and the film is too much shorter than the original cuts i'd highly check it out if that sounds interesting to you so in 2008 there was a spiritual successor to marvel zombies titled marvel apes written by carl kessel and i mean just look at it look how beautiful this is and because it's marvel it includes an eight version of spider-man named spider-monkey and even an eight version of doc ock doctor octavius and by the end of the comic spider monkey along with the avengers beat him to death so that's fun spider-man can we even then return to the spider-verse event don't worry dies rest in peace monkey rest in peace marvel bullet points the may series set in another universe where there's massive changes to the character roster appearing in bullet points issue 4 in 2007 peter parker becomes the hulk while bruce banner becomes spider-man well bruce bernard and spider-man after going out on the rampage for nearly two years after bitten by the spider after that he was put into custody with heavy gene therapy and heavy medication and then was deemed sane and allowed to work with shields peter actually became hulk because of bruce banner's mistake and got him turned into the hulk so banner's got a lot of uh issues going on right now well i guess that's opposed to like you know the constant issues he deals with the main if bruce springer is not only a happy guy is he he would later than appear in the spider-verse event where like spider-monkey he was killed so the entire bullet points universe is created and marvel decided to explore what would happen if steve rogers never became captain america so yeah all this happens captain juice up when venom was released tom hardy revealed that 30 to 40 minutes of footage was removed from the movie honestly when watching the film for the first time i felt like this movie was missing a giant chunk of it so i'm not really surprised to hear about this some people have asked for venom extended cuts with that footage added back in but director reuben fleischer said he has no interest in releasing the footage now i'd like the footage to be released because lost media and all that i don't think it will happen as all interested in extended cuts has pretty much died since the film was released on dvd not much else to say here remember when sony promoted venom as a romantic comedy when the film was released on dvd i am venom and you are mine the world is not so ugly after all what really made you change your mind canceled only after one season there were actually plans for a second season of spider-man unlimited in fact some episode scripts were completed some episodes of season 2 were destiny unleashed part 2 in which venom and carnage would mutate permanently into each other to become king cartage cat got your tongue in which spider-man must battle three black cats who are siamese cat sisters night walker in which spider-man must protect his friends from an assassin known as nightwalker model behavior in which spider-man stars in a human exploitation film alright sojourn in which king carnage tries to return to home to his dimension spider-man arachnophobia's toy line race 1996 by toy biz and features weird mutations of certain sparring characters like man lizard in which peter's dna mix the lizards vamp rider in which venom becomes a vampire and spider goblin in which a machine morphs spider-man and hobgoblin into the same person in 1980 a pair of psas from the u.s department of agriculture were released in which spider-man teaches kids but healthy eating after battling like a t-rex and giant fly i'll display both of them for you now because for some reason they're both really annoying to of teen pregnancy and diseases when suddenly spider-man drops in and shoots webs down prodigy's throat to prevent him from talking presumably killing him because i mean those webs down the throat like my man he's going to choke to death you just murdered a man written by anne robinson this is a comic released by both marvel and planned parenthood remember guys wear a condom or spider-man will [ __ ] kill you first appearing in amazing spider-man issue 81 in 1970 frank oliver was an australian guy who studied lived with and ate kangaroos basically becoming one of tarzan was raised by kangaroo with a set of gorillas he even gained the ability to leap great distances from the kangaroos somehow anyways he went on to become a boxer to make some money but severely injured his opponent almost to death in order to escape prison for you know almost beating men to death in the ring he fled to the us it was discovered there was an illegal immigrant about to be deported kangaroo escaped an attention cell and became a criminal the kangaroo would then get an implant in his head that enhanced his abilities though it caused him in pain if he refused to listen to dr jonas har hero the guy who gave own the plants in the first place he'd then later be disintegrated by pure radiation so rest in peace kangaroo jack though that's not the end of the kangaroo as three different clones of him were created two were proto-husks that were killed by deadpool and one was used by the jackal but died due to clone degeneration finally in spectacular spider-man 242 in 1997 brian hibbs entered the scene as the second kangaroo instead of just being able to jump around brian hibbs is an advanced kangaroo exo armor i can't believe i had to say that that grants him serious strength that even has a cannon built into his pouch in the 1990s michael jackson almost bought the entirety of marvel why well because he wanted to play spider-man in a movie no that's really the reason stan lee in 2012 even said in an interview yes he wanted to he felt that would be the only way that he could play spider-man i think it's safe to say we dodged a huge bullet here in marvel team of issues 36 in 1975 spider-man battles frankenstein's monster and shockingly it's canon no really frankenstein is part of the mainline 616 timeline has even worked with she-hulk and howard the duck and has even been part of the howling commandos anyways spider-man is captured by a villain called the monster makers and is forced to team up with frankenstein's monster in order to escape and defeat the monster maker as he plans on taking over the world with the army of monsters now you're probably thinking big ben you lied to us you said spider-man fought friggin science monster not team up well don't blame me blame the comic as the cover shows them battling but in reality they just team up thus marvel team up if you think superheroes like me can fight all your battles for you think again voting for your local state and federal representative lets you choose who's on your side and all the issues we face today the little ones to the really big ones too but before you can vote you need to register so do it jane fighting over peter with gwen stacy flash thompson looking like that one dude from my hero academia and well that's kind of it it was pretty much just exclusively romantic drama and drama aimed at you know young teenage girls and now while yes i've watched and loved an unhealthy amount of romantic comedy anime in my time this just is not for me because uh for multitude reasons like how this is aimed at you know young girls the series was originally created because the rainy films made mary jane very popular teenage girls but the series was canceled only for four issues because of low sales though it was brought back soon after but it didn't become a mainstay of marvel like i said only lasting until 2007 before never being brought back in any way outside of re-releases in a quote-unquote second season in 2009 that only lasted five issues side note luke cage black cat and jessica jones are all retcons in this continuity to be teenagers in which they make jessica jones of goth luke cage just a dude who wants to date mary jane and black cat is a violent troublemaker spider in the manga is a 1970s 1971 [ __ ] that was published in monthly showdown magazine originally it was just a translation of stories released in america but over time it became its own thing instead of peter parker it stars yuka murray who instead of losing his uncle to a criminal accidentally murders somebody himself and so he becomes spider-man to atone for his crime after the manga stopped adapting original stories made in america the series became much darker with a more realistic art style and dealt with despite by controlling his darker side and his grim thoughts about living as a vigilante sadly the official english translation of the series was canceled after issue 131 leaving the rest of the series to up to fan translations in 1996 a two-part spider-man the animated series episode titled make-a-wish and attack of the octobot were released in which spider-man is sent by madame webb to visit a little girl named maria elizondo by the end of the two-part episode peter reveals his identity to her and she'll tell him that she'll keep her secret but why would peter do this doc knows about this little kid well you see at the very end of the episode it's revealed that she's dying of leukemia so some people theorize peter did this because he knew that she was dying of cancer so she wouldn't be able to tell anyone but i don't i don't think that was the intention of the episode because that's really [ __ ] dark i think it was more just peter being nice to a kid oh wait no it was this episode was adapted from the comic amazing spider-man issue 248 in which spider-man reveals his identity to a kid named timmy and at the very end of the comic it's real timmy's dying of leukemia only his weeks to live what the [ __ ] that was the intent oh so so real quick can we um okay can we discuss how the marvel wiki for uh timmy like the kids dying of leukemia in the comics that's a [ __ ] power grid oh my god why timmy has a one energy projection speed durability fighting skills straight there's a tune intelligence you can't do that don't don't give a dying kid of leukemia a power like a power thing chibi could theoretically be used in versus battles because he has a power scale he has jesus christ the marvel manga verse ultra continuity created in 2000's basically what if marvel comics were manga instead of comics while this universe is iron man hull the x-men etc spider-man is also here and he plays a pretty decently sized role in the franchise even having his own solo series in 2002 he's a member of the spider clan of ninjas it was taught martial arts by his uncle ben also sensei who was later then murdered by this universe's venom this universal spider-man has a pretty unique design with a backpack being a permanent part of his design this universe's spider-man would even go on to train his universe's mary jane into becoming a spider woman he even appears in the spider-verse event and as an alternate skin and as an alternate skin in shadow dimensions and spider-man ps4 in spider-man ps1 the final boss of the game is carnage who takes control of dokgok in this form he's known as monster rock he's practically invincible and you can actually fight him you can only run away while he's only appeared in this game and briefly an ultimate spider-man he's become a fan favorite variation of carnage just for how terrifying he is for example if you listen closely to him as he chases you you can hear him struggling to say are you ready to die as he chokes on his words probably as a result of doc fighting back against carnage or the soviets simply going down dockok's throat [Applause] [Music] truth in journalism's 2013 short film that's a tribute to both venom and the 1992 mockumentary man bites dog directed by joe lynch this short tells the story of a french documentary crew documenting eddie brock around new york city as eddie tries to convince them he's a good journalist it's a really great short film that i don't want to give way too much about even though it came out years and years ago it was so good in fact that it was even shown at san diego comic con in 2013 and joe lynch himself was even considered to direct venom by sony in an amazing spider-man issue 365 in 1992 peter's parents come back from the dead despite them dying in a plane crash according to richard and mary parker the soviet union had actually helped imprison her for years and staged their deaths when peter eventually opens up to his long wall's parents and even reveals the secret identity of spider-man they suddenly reveal that they're robots that were created by chameleon as revenge for the death of craven the hunter they were meant to discover peter parker and who spearman was and as soon as they found out well chameleon's plan was complete but spider-man then showed up to stop them richard parker turned into whatever the hell this is and battled him while mary parker refused to be evil and yes they both end up dying as well so peter loses his parents yet again also just to throw this in here i'm not really super big on the whole mary parker and richard parker being agents of shield and like being like badass spies yeah tasm 2 didn't invent that concept this has been a thing for a long long long time and i've never been too big on it we'll be right back to marvel's ultimate spider-man versus the sinister six on disney xd i'll blow this out of memories try to get up there in time spider-man watch me cut my [Music] is this more action that even spider-man can handle spider-man a video game from parker brothers the ones to beat and now back to the spectacular spider-man on kids spider-man the other is an event that lasted from 2005 to 2006 that was holding 12 issues and follows the five stages of grief as peter realizes that he's dying because he's rejecting the spider side of him it's a really weird event that has peter strangling tracer to death only for it to be revealed it's a robot no not my wife tracer tracer from marvel comics who is a very obscure spider-man villain has peter entering a cocoon and shedding his old skin like a spider in a scene in which a villain named morlan literally rips out peter's left eye and eats it it's really weird when peters were born he's given a ton of new powers like night vision and arthropod communication along with stingers come out of his wrists but he's rarely ever seen using them since the event probably because it's such a weird story alright and there's also the title character the other a giant spider god who is sometimes made up of millions of tiny little spiders it's responsible for peter gaining his powers i'm not really a fan of this but it exists god damn it okay so an amazing spider in issue 699 in 2012 peter who's now in doc ock's body realizes that he accessed doc's old memory and almost instantly discovers he now has doc first-person memory of having sex with aunt may right before the two were supposed to marry all those years ago it's played off his little haha but uh he still has those memories to this day so jesus christ that is horrible so spider-man has quite a bit of goblin enemies don't believe me well there's norman osborn's green goblin harry osborne's green goblin bart hamilton's green goblin phil erwich's green goblin arnold donovan's hobgoblin that lates is hobgoblin jason mcnell's juniors hobgoblin daniel kingsley's hobgoblin some random dude top goblin grey goblin demo goblin frodo goblin menace the green goblin construct iron goblin goblin by night red goblin and finally android green goblin but then there's the alternate universe stuff like shadow goblin gwen stacy green goblin black goblin poison green goblin the green goblin clone goblin 2099 and gobtron i don't really have a joke to end this section off with there's just a lot of goblins and eventually we're probably just gonna get like an into the goblin verse comic event spidey super stories was a live action segment in a pbs show the electric company that ran from 1974 to 1977. it ran for 29 five-minute episodes that dealt with spider-man dealing with extremely petty crimes this is where funny bunny in the wall came from other weird villains in the show include the tickler a guy who tickles people so we can rob them silly willy a clown that takes out his frustrations by hitting himself with rubber chicken in order to cause people to stop and laugh so he can rob them for the sack a man dressed in a 100-pound flower sack that throws vegetables at people count dracula just you know dracula but this time he's played by morgan freeman and an actual yeti that's it there's no uh that's just nyeti not only was this a show but there was also a comic run from 1974 to 1982 of the same name that went on for 57 issues thanos himself would even appear in these comics strangely enough and finally there was even a vital record related to the show that included some audio stories or some of the spider-man stories told in the show and comic spider-man training studio is a 2007 short film packaged in a training mat and punching bag is meant to train children how to become spider-man by doing let's learn the battle ready position put your feet in the battle footprints on your spidey mat and hold your arms up like this this is the position you'll use to fire off your spidey strikes awesome teach us the spidey strikes lee i know i know we have to master the battle ready position first you're a quick study cutaway gag bad guys have this thing about throwing buses i'll never understand that anyways hell begins with spider-man what make up children and breaking into their house come on you went this way [Music] ah i'm one for real look it's a spider cool it's red and blue just like just like and the show usually flips from the 90s cartoon that's over a decade at this point instead of the movies i guess it's the licensing issue in 2013 hugh jackman revealed that there were actually plans back in the day for wolverine to cameo in the first spyron film apparently the cameo was going to be so minor that it could've just been wolverine walking in the background of a shot hugh jackman even showed up to new york to film the scene but never did because they couldn't find the wolverine costume no really the reason why the x-men spider-man cinematic universe never happened was because they couldn't find the wolverine costume first appearing in peter parker spider-man issue 23 in 2000 typeface is a rather strange villain growing a hate life while he's laid off with his science smith job he writes a giant rs forehead that stands for retribution and begins vandalizing the city he even used giant letters as weapons and defeated spider-man combat he would then replace the r on his forehead with an a for annihilation thus becoming typeface however after remembering his brother's final words he had a change of heart to make him a superhero and even battled on captain america's side during civil war but was killed by vetom during the final battle until he was retconned into surviving in spider-man deadpool issue 12 in 2016. no no no i'm not talking about this why would you think i'm talking about no you can't shoot on youtube get that out of here though you'd probably be surprised that this isn't the first time people have shipped spider-man and captain marvel in fact marvel themselves have done it in miss marvel issue 34 in 2009 peter asks carol danvers out on a date and they actually do in miss marvel issue 47 they actually go on a date and it even ends on a really nice note so yeah they dated for a bit hell the spider-man one-shot siege venom briefly takes control of captain marvel and then tells spider-man that she might have feelings for him so yeah they've actually dated for a bit the ultimate didn't last very long doesn't stop shippers though there's actually been quite a few continuities in which uncle ben begins fighting crime with or without peter first appearing in the mason spire in issue 13 2015 this uncle ben is actually his universe's spider-man who got his powers after going with peter to a science demonstration where he was bitten by the spider sadly his identity was discovered and the villain emerald elf murdered out may and peter causing ben to retire though he did take up the mantle once again to help battle the inheritors in the spider-verse event then there's the avengers which appeared in secret wars 2 issue 1 in 2015 as a joke team consisting of uncle ben versions of all the avengers and finally in what if issue 23 1980 aunt may becomes spider-man and tells peter and ben about it afterwards both uncle ben peter decided to help may stop crying with ben parker even being equipped with his own web shooters spider-man the incredible hulk was a cancelled tv film in the 80s that would have had the cast of the 70s spider-man series crossover with the cast of the credible hulk bill bixby was hired to direct but was ultimately cancelled despite everyone being on board with the project in 1985 marvel gave the rights to a spider-man film to canon films but would revert back to marvel if the film wasn't made by 1990 so what was the plot they had well they hired leslie stevens to write the story for spider-man that was about peter parker becoming a human tarantula a giant hairy suicidal armed monster that battled the new master race of mutants kept in a basement laboratory yeah this didn't really go over well it was actually based on a misunderstanding of the character and the future version of the story would later have spider-man battling dot gok though in this version peter would become spider-man in his college years and doc ock would be going after some like anti-gravity technology and so this is the script they went with but then they had another problem the budget from 15 million to 20 million to just under 10 million the company just couldn't agree on the film's budget but they were able to push their ownership of spider-man up until 1992 and so when the production start of summer 1989 they tried to raise production funds by selling the unmade films television rights and ultimately it the film never happened spiderman j was a short-lived spider-man manga released from 2004-2005 that ran into children's magazine comic bomb bomb the story is set in the year 2000 x and fifteen year old show emino gained spider powers in order to stop lord gakibu from stealing the fossil the insect king yeah it's not very faithful to the source material this comic had an entirely new cast of characters like like mehmed shoes young happy aunts mega me shoe's tomboy girlfriend then saku a huge fan of vibrant j and comic bomb bomb and makato who was a goofy cop strangely enough though when this was translated to english literally every character's name was changed shu became peter parker makaitou became detective flynn baby became atmei megumi became barry jane and desaku became harold osborne this manga also includes virgins of the fantastic four doctor doom blade and elektra and schuemcel he later appeared in the spirit's event i hope you now appreciate knowing what spider-man j is because i sure did not like saying all those japanese names i'm sorry i butchered them i i horrible names in english spanish japanese germ really any language i don't know how to speak spider-man's wedding was a live performance in shea stadium in new york city 1987 had stan lee mary spider-man to mary jane 45 000 spider-man fans showed up to watch the event or to watch the new york mets play right afterwards but hey they were there and so was hulk captain america ice man fire star and dr doom and green goblin well it's nice to see that the goblin doom saw their differences with spider-man to show up to his wedding amazing spider in issue 36 2001 featured spider-man witnessing the terrorist attacks on september 11 2001. he along with wolverine thing storm hawkeye captain america daredevil mr fantastic scarlet witch thor vision and cyclops all went in to save people from the ruins while kingpin magneto and dr doom watch on sadness wait why would magneto give a [ __ ] about this magneto literally wants to wipe out humanity why would whatever regardless it's a pretty important comic that's one of the few modern comics deals directly at modern events because of it now al-qaeda has a page in the marvel wiki where it says wolverine thought al-qaeda was responsible for a vampire suicide bombing what the [ __ ] identity crisis is an eight issue event in 1998 in which spider-man is framed by norman osborne for the murder of a random crook to avoid the police going after him peter decides to stop being spider-man for the time being and becomes a series of other heroes of villains while he tries to clear his name there's the horde and prodigy two heroes and dusk and ricochet two criminals using these fake criminal disguises he was able to discover more information behind the framing and clear his name the police these temporary identities would later on be unlockable costumes in edge of time and hornet and ricochet would return in the main experiment to the video games costumes in the late 90s david fitcher pinched his idea for spyrenfeld to sony this spirited film wouldn't have been an origin story but would have shown it in the first 10 minutes this scene was described by feature as operatic and like a music video the villain of the film would have been green goblin and the film would have directly adapted gwen stacy's death yeah he just wanted to jump straight into it basically his pitch was rejected because his take on spider-man was far too different from what somebody wanted at the time they wanted a campier and colorful film that sam raimi ultimately created not this in fact fincher's planet said he can't do a camp here spider-man in an interview with io9 he said my impression of what spider-man could be is very different than what sam raimi did or what sam wanted to do i think the reason he directed that movie was because he wanted to do the marvel comic book superhero i was never interested in the genesis story i couldn't get past a guy game bit by red and blue spider it was just a problem it was not something that i felt i could do straight faced i wanted to start with gwen stacy and the green goblin and i wanted to kill gwen stacy maximum carnage was a haunted house featured in 2002's halloween horror nights island of fear which is an event at universal studios orlando the attraction showed a bunch of dead superheroes like spider-man and the attraction itself was about what if marvel superheroes took over the world though the haunted house is mostly focused on carnage other marvel characters appeared such as scream mavesto zorn punisher electro and the classic spider-man villain guy wearing coveralls with a gun sadly the event only lasted in 2002 and another marvel direction would never happen as marvel were pretty pissed off with through universal because once they found out about the dead superheroes they thought if kids saw them they'd think that they're dead in real life so they'd stop buying the comics because i don't think kids are that dumb so did you know before venom became agent venom he had actually been an agent of the us government before while starting in venom on trial issue three in 1997 venomous hybrid the us government to be a special operations terrorist agent though they didn't really trust him so he did a dark knight and surgery implanted a bomb into his chest to make sure he didn't [ __ ] around and so venomous heads on multiple missions by the us government like the time he used to take out a plane hijacked by neo-fascists before the time he was sent to intimidate jay jonah jameson though he kind of [ __ ] up that one because he thought the government had asked him to kill him not intimidate there was also a time where he was sent to protect a south american former dictator who's traveled to the us to make a speech by human rights in a random church in the bronx even fights ghosts writer in that story pretty crazy also the comic teaches this story as when terrace sees a born-again south american president in a bronx church the us government sends venom into kick booty eventually though venom does have the bomb surgically removed and escaped the government to become a villain again oh well he returns to be an agent later on so no hard feelings i guess co-published by the american dental association and released in 2005 heroes vs plaque features spider-man and the fantastic four convincing thing to go to the dentist once they arrive there they're attacked by professor pleck who's planning to kidnap dentists so children will never learn about proper tooth care eventually they defeat the foul breath villain and they all get their teeth checked out i know there's no chance of it but man i hope professor plaque shows up in spiders too somehow in the 1987 one shot spider-man vs wolverine written by jim owsley wolverine's friend charlemagne was wanted by the kgb as she was a secret agent that worked for them briefly and she knows too much knowing there was absolutely nowhere she can go to hide she wanted wolverine to give her a quick death instead of being captured and torched to death so wolverine reluctantly agreed to do it but just as he's about to give her the sweet release of death spider-man stepped in to stop it because he thought wolverine was just trying to murder her this of course led to a fight between the two heroes which led to her attacking spider-man knowing that he'd think it was wolverine was attacking him and so she jumped at him causing spider-man to turn around and had smashed her face in with super strength thinking wolverine who could handle the blow and thus spider-man straight up punched a woman to death granted she did it to kill herself but still he did it this still haunts peters this very day as i mean it should it's one of the most tragic moments in all of spider-man's history and said nobody ever really talks about it grab a web and stick around we'll be right back to spider-man on disney xd you alright play the witch spidey suit you spider-man like moon knight luke cage black widow and wolverine but just recently it was discovered that iron man was originally going to be in the game as well in april of this year a piece of concept art for the shadows to discover that features this really horrible looking iron man design it was originally thought this was for spider-man 3 the video game but it makes way more sense for the shadows in the 1984 comics spider-man power pack issue 1 spider-man told the story of how he was almost uh touched as the word i'll use steven west scott aka skip was an older boy who invited peach to his house when he was a kid where he showed him some adult magazines and then tried to you know peter then told uncle ben and not me about the whole situation and skip was arrested or something they never actually explained what happened to him nancy allen the person who wrote the story actually has admitted that she deeply regrets the story david yeah what do you need i thought you might have room for one more hey man get out of here that's not for me yeah okay sure man whatever you say [Music] man talk about crazy get me out of here in venom sign of the boss when the comics were venom works for the government that i mentioned the last tier venom creates its own theme song that goes that a man that a man friendly symbiote venom man spins a web any size catches thieves makes them die it's not very catchy and uh it didn't really catch on thankfully truthfully shouldn't be on this iceberg but uh i thought it was funny first appearing edge's spider-verse issue 5 in 2014 everyone knows about penny parker now that she was in into the spider-verse what many don't actually know was her mech looks very different in the comics in fact her comic mech is directly inspired by the avas from the evangelion franchise hell her entire world is inspired by evangelion you can even see the cast of evangelion in the comic or you know characters were inspired by them but aren't legally them you get what i mean point is penny parker is just one giant evangelion reference first appearing in what if the punisher issue 1 in 2018 peter parker murdered the man who killed uncle ben leading to him becoming a violent vigilante he used guns to kill criminals he even took the gun that was used to uncle ben and began using it for himself as a reminder of what crime took from him and this universe became spider punisher and gunned down basically the entire sinister six and eventually green goblin however he'd eventually retired from being spared a punisher after saving gwen stacy first appeared in peter parker the spectacular spider-man issue 24 1978 antoine delsoin was the lead singer of a band mercy killers and began stealing from nightclub safes he'd do this by using his equipment to hypnotize people and eventually they began hypnotizing the audience so that they'd hand over their money as far as fighting abilities though they're not very great so when spider-man showed up it was a pretty easy fight as always had to do was remove hypno hustler's headphones which allowed him to be hypnotized as well he's appeared occasionally since his original appearance though almost never is a serious character it's just really a joke reference to how silly son of spiderman's villains used to be strangely though he's actually appeared in other continuities like in house of m and spider-man reign of all things where just like everything else in that comic he's overly depressed and it's brutally murdered in this universe he's actually the leader of a cult and uses hypnotic guitar to gain followers and like with big wheel he's even appeared in some video games like the ps2 version of the shadows not to be confused the extremely obscure marvel miniseries the same name the true believers were a cult of korean ninjas who were responsible for breaking doka back from the dead yeah kind of weird it's like if norman osborn died and they got greek pirates to come and resurrect them just a weird clash of uh things anyways first appearing in amazing spire in issue 421 1987 they were originally part of the hands but left they felt that they were heretics when they did finally resurrect doc in an amazing experiment issue 427 a pretty big chunk of them were killed which led to the groups disbanding shortly after which is why these characters have just kind of disappeared from the marvel universe altogether spider-man the zoids was a comic series that ran from 1986 to 1987 and was an anthology series that tied in with the zod's toy franchise going on at the same time because this was a new franchise and was published by marvel uk it was decided that reprint of the spider-man comics weekly would be included in each issue as a way of getting readers to buy the comic side note grant morrison of all star superman final crisis student patrol and jla fame actually worked on the series events it's actually one of his earliest works first appearing in what if spider-man vs wolverine 2008 this story is actually a spiritual sequel to the story in which spider-man kills charlemagne that i mentioned at the end of last year in this universe after accidentally killing her peter doesn't go home instead he joins wolverine's mission to rescue her sister as a way of redeeming himself it's during this mission that peter loses his belief in the no killing rule and becomes a black ops assassin who's trained by wolverine had a fighting kill he even leaves mary jane for alex who is charlemagne's sister that they want to go rescue the beginning of the story he's a master at hand-to-hand combat since a skilled marksman with absolutely no mercy but that didn't save him from dying during the spider-verse event side note his design is actually inspired by an unused piece of concept art for the first raimi film alright here's another spider-man story people don't care for trouble yes it's this is a spider-man story stay with me it's a mini series released in 2003-2004 written by mark miller that tells the story of a 17 year old girl named may kicking out a resort during summer vacation she meets up with her friend mary and their friends richard and ben they hang out have a nice time and then may ends up banging ben while richard then begins to cheat on mary with may not very cool mae that's a pretty [ __ ] up thing to do this leads her to getting pregnant with everyone thinking ben's the father but nope he's actually sterile so it's revealed that richard got her pregnant mae decides then not to get an abortion and start thinking about killing herself while she runs away from home mae then decides to give the baby to mary so mae won't have to deal with her parents when meg gives birth to the baby she names it peter so know what you're thinking so this is an alternate universe in which au mei is peter's mother and she actually banged peter's dad who's married to the woman who adopts peter well uncle ben just kind of sits there going what the [ __ ] is happening yeah this comic was really disliked by people for just its very existence which i honestly get so this one's pretty simple green goblin's costume the first for me film actually had green painted nike air flight posits back to formula in 2006 there was a commercial that included a bunch of marvel superheroes including spider-man who explains to a woman that if a visa card is stolen or lost you're not liable for fraudulent [Music] someone charges my visa check card read my lips if your visa check cards lost or stolen you're not liable for fraudulent charges and all that money will be put back in your checking account signing gotta love captain america's classic rising from the ground like he's paragon tactic also captain america commits fraud what the [ __ ] stop signing with fake names written by john bryan and released from 1998-1999 spider-man chapter one modernize its spirit origin and by modernize i mean re-tell the exact same stories but make a couple of changes here and there yeah this 13-issue series actually just adapted early sparring comics like amazing fantasy issue 15 amazing spider-man annual 1 and amazing spider-man 16. it also was a continuity headache at the time as the series was released right around the same time as untold tales of spider-man that series told stories set between early spirit issues that we didn't see and was cannon to the mainstream timeline but chapter one wasn't and it also went over the early years of spider-man so readers were left confused as to what's canon what's not canon overall chapter one has been quickly forgotten the time and it's only lasting legacy or two other stories set in the same continuity hulk chapter one and marvel the lost generation before 9 11 there was a pretty famous teaser of the first remy spider-man film in which spider-man captures some criminals escaping in a helicopter between the twin towers now some think this was a scene from the film but i doubt it as it seems to just made remarketing regardless this teaser would be pulled from advertising soon after the attack on the world trade center in 2001. that in a poster spider-man where you can see the reflection of the twin towers in his eyes was also censored not only that when the video games experiment 2 enter electro the entire final battle was changed to avoid resembling the twin towers though you can actually find the pre-911 build the game online and finally in the 2002 spider-man movie tie-in game the twin towers were edited for the game but they remain in the game's cutscenes and finally one last note in a case of reverse censorship i don't know what you would call it the world trade center was actually edited into spider-man 2. so like did 9 11 happen in the rainy verse just not in 2001 spider-man doc ox revenge is an indoor spitting roller coaster featured in img worlds of avengers in dubai even though it opened up in 2016 it's become kind of obscure compared to other theme park attractions relating to spider-man just like the first three ribbing spider-man films and the tasman films that came after there was a game plan for the fourth spider-man film and in late 2010's that cancelled game was found well the prototype build of it was discovered on a weeb developer kit it was made by radical entertainment and a former employee of theirs would later leak images of an updated version of this game that most likely was just months before it was cancelled though don't worry you can actually play spider-man before the video game right now kind of you squint and aren't expecting spider-man to show up you see instead of throwing the entire game out after the game was cancelled it was turned into prototype 2. spider-man 2 activity center was developed by a lot of people this was an interactive experience created for a much much younger demographic that couldn't play the ps2 or pc build with spider-man 2. it featured seven different activities and printable movie graphics and i kind of want to buy it just so that i can say i own the most obscure spider-man game but like is this really worth nine dollars who knows maybe maybe if i do buy it would you guys be interested if i bought it would you guys watch a [ __ ] exploration video of it i don't know maybe i'll do it it's like nine bucks spider nom was a fan comic created by jane stoke and yes it is what if spider-man was drafted into vietnam war or really enlisted but you get what i mean created back in 2011 there's only roughly five pages created for the comic but they're all really [ __ ] good looking i'd honestly pay to see the full thing completed but i don't think we're going to you see he actually pitched this comic to marvel as a what up story but they rejected it so the chances of us seeing more of this comic are pretty slim to none spider-man fairy tales were the second of a three-part series of mini-series about marvel characters and fairy tale scenarios the four spirit stories released in 2007 go over little red riding hood the legend of kawakensei a gender reverse cinderella and a japanese ghost story the medieval spider-man from the cinderella story would actually later be used in spider-verse for a bit only to die appearing only in what if issue 76 in 1995 this peter parker was never been by the radioactive spider instead flash thompson did he went on to bully peter into making his gear and eventually become the criminal the spider after revealing peter that he wasn't gonna be a hero but a criminal so he began to rob a bunch of places causing peter to ask doc for help and so with tech given to him by doc ock peter became spider-man and went after the spider eventually defeating him and having the fantastic four remove flash's powers so in spider-verse volume 3 issue 2 released in 2019 another universe's carnage latched onto may who had turned accepted him and willingly became carnage afterwards she decided to travel the multiverse with her universe's peter parker uncle ben and miles morales who was spider-man in that universe to murder all their ultra universe counterparts because they had discovered the multiverse and decided that there was no free will their crusade didn't last very long however as they were quickly defeated and never appeared again the revenge of shinobi is a 1989 video game created by sega it's a side-scrolling platform that includes batman's spider-man godzilla spluster stallone and terminator as enemies yeah it's uh kind of wild the game's director noryoshi oba admitted that he lacked creativity and made rough sketches of characters based on what he had seen at the time he thought that the character designer would modify them so they weren't you know copyrighted characters he did not as a result the original release version of the game had all these guys as enemies however in the re-releases all the copyrighted enemies were taken out except spider-man you see because sega had the rights to spider-band because of the game amazing spider-man versus the kingpin technically the character could appear in the game in the original game when spider-man was defeated he turned to batman however in re-releases he'd still remain spider-man however the most recent re-releases of the game he's been completely removed altogether alongside godzilla batman etc discussed at great length by the youtuber comic drake the spread right three sushi roll that everyone online thought was some kind of promotional sushi roll to marvel or sony was not actually a promotional role turns out it's just an evolution from the standard spider role comic drake has two theories as to why there's so many spirit three rules across the united states but i'll leave that to him to explain first appearing in a mating spearmint issue eight in 1964 the living brain is a robot with the ability to solve any problem two criminals would try to steal their brain so they could sell it but in the process trying to steal it they accidentally cause interval function causing the robot to go on a rampage throughout midtown high school spider-man would then in 1988 when steve petty modified the robot and used it to attack a kid who was bullying him spider-man then defeat both the kid and the living brain once again but then was used to rob some places in peterborough spider-man issue 28-2000 it would even become a member of the sinister sixth in superior spider-man issue 1 in 2013 and then was recruited into parker industries and became an ally of spider-man the living brain has very little personality if any personality at all but keith's reappearing in various ways over the years at this point he may turn up next as an adventure or remember the x-men the spider-man safety series is a line of direct-to-video psas in the early 90s that were released on vhs tapes given to schools sadly only one of the four psas have ever been found titled original spider-man in his final battle they would also confirm that there have been a ton of suburban successors in the thousand years since spider-man's death they even say that some consider mary jane the first lady of the heroic age the story ends of the pair discovering the blood of the web shooters is actually spider-man's and zack plans to clone spider-man for a new millennium it's a very strange story but these two would never actually reappear again so there's never any follow-up to that colony business hell it was even retconned that the 2098 events of the story took place in another timeline called earth 98 105 so these guys don't even get into the mainline timeline anymore and now premiere of the spectacular spiderman my spider sense is tingling time to start blasting with the spiderman triple screen megablast web shooter and light up mask your splinter center will tingle it's three times the fun cause you're shooting three webs instead of just one that's right to go it's a city where a guy dressed up as a rhino a bear or a walrus it's just another day actually wait there are a few people who would like to go to that place there's ancient writings in the ruins of the mayan empire that predict the event known as spider-verse who knows smooth the mayans would live by spider-man like entity of course all this comes from jonah there's absolutely no evidence to support any of this but i i get paid at the other day so i don't ask questions got another theory about glenn's daisy's death he argues that either spider-man killed her spider gwen killed her she claimed she's from another dimension but what if she came from that dimension killed this universe to go on stacy took over her life all right even jonah thinks this one's a little crazy i don't know how this theory got out there but some people think that 29 spider-gwen that one spider-man that sings that cartoon pig spider-man and every other spider-man actually comes from this timeline that this whole multiverse thing it's just some bull crab created left-wing media i can assure you that's probably not true [Music] and that's a wrap that was probably the longest i've ever spent on an iceberg video which is strange because the star wars one was like 40 minutes longer than this um i didn't really expect this to be two hours long i thought it would be like now or 30 but
