Hello everyone, this is onlyabidoang and today
I’m going to be showcasing 11 base game objects that you might not know and have to
try out in The Sims 4! These objects are available in your game without
requiring any of THESE packs (dang that’s a lot) as long as your game is up to date. Anyway, this video is inspired by Petey Plays
It. I already asked for his permission to make
this video just to make sure so if you want to watch his version of this list, the link
to his video will be available in the end of the video or in the description. Anyway, let’s take a look at the objects! 1. Lin Z Smart Speaker
Do you want a personal AI assistant like Google Home or Amazon Echo for your sims? Then the Lin-Z Smart Speaker is for you! This object was added to the base game through
an update back in 2018, but most players seem to have forgotten about it. Once placed, your sim can do various activities
with it. First off, sims can play trivia with it. The stereo will ask your sim some trivial
question and if they’re correct, your relationship with it will be improved. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this. Yes, you can build your relationship with
your smart speaker. At first, it may be a bit stubborn and refuse
to do what’s instructed, but improving your relationship with it will make them more obedient
and unlock some other benefits. You can also command the speaker to play some
music like regular stereos. Once played, you can ask it to shuffle another
random song, dance to the music, set the volume, or command it to stop. You can ask it to tell jokes which increases
your sim’s fun need. You can also yell at or insult the speaker
to further worsen your relationship. If you have bad relationship with it, an option
to apologize will also appear. You can also command it to set all lights
in the lot on or off and command them to hire services like maids, pizza deliveries, and
repairpersons. Also, hiring services seem to be a great strategy
to increase your relationship with it because it will always obey you for some reason. One of the perks of having good relationship
with it is that you’ll unlock this feature called “wake up routine”. There are three types of wake-up routine,
and if you set one near your bed, after you wake up, it’s supposed to give you specific
moodlets, where news briefing makes you focused, daily affirmation makes you happy, and daily
jokes makes you playful. But I think it doesn’t work right now because
nothing happens after my sim wakes up. It’s probably a bug and may be fixed later. Also, if you’re friends with it, when you’re
around it, they may compliment you automatically, making your sims happy. They may also automatically hire maids or
repairperson for free on its own if your house is messy or have some broken appliances. You can also unlock “ask for secret” if
you have high enough relationship with it and it’ll give you this notification. I won’t spoil what’ll happen if you do
what is says but if you have Amazon Alexa in real life, you should try it out. 2. Sugar Skull Display. This object was first introduced in a limited-time
challenge back in 2016 to celebrate Day of the Dead or Día de los Muertos, a holiday
tradition largely originated from Mexico, but you can still buy the display case now. If you have a tombstone from a sim who have
died on your lot, you may notice this interaction called “leave sugar skull offering”. Doing this will have your sim kneeling near
the tombstone as an offering gesture. If this fails, nothing will happen and your
sim will be disappointed. But if it’s successful, you’ll gain this
notification saying that a Day of the Dead celebrator is now roaming around the neighborhood. Now here’s the tricky part, you have to
find this particular NPC yourself around the neighborhood you’re in. they can be identified based on their attire
because they’ll wear one of the Day of the Dead-themed outfits, or you can also hover
your cursor over the sim because they’ll have a special tag. But if you play on a huuuge neighborhood like
Tartosa for example, it can be a pain in the butt to hunt them down, so I suggest doing
this on a much smaller neighborhood, like one of the districts in Oasis Springs. Once found, click on them and choose “ask
for a sugar skull”. They may refuse sometimes so you need to increase
your relationship with the sim. If successful, they’ll give you one random
type of sugar skulls. There are 9 types of sugar skulls in the set
and you need to collect all of them and place them in the display case. You can also use the “bb.showhiddenobjects”
cheat and obtain them from buy mode as well. Finally, after you’ve collected all types
of sugar skulls and put them in the display case, click on the display case and a new
interaction called “honor the dead” will appear. If done, a golden skull will appear on the
top and you’ll gain a special moodlet that lasts for 8 hours. While it’s active, you’ll wear a random
type of day of the dead outfits with smoke effect coming out of your feet. Besides that, you’ll unlock new social interactions
to grim, like discuss afterlife, complain about spirits, and enthuse about sugar skulls. You’ll also gain relationship with grim
reaper much faster. Additionally, when someone dies, your success
chance of pleading them to life will also increase. After honoring the dead, you need to wait
for a while before doing it again. 3. Tea Magic Personal Brewer. This is a kitchen appliance that can be really
useful to influence your sim’s emotions. For starters, you can brew various types of
tea with it. Unlike the coffee machine however, drinking
tea will not increase your energy need, but it’ll increase your hunger need. There are 6 types of tea you can brew from
the base game, but some packs also add more kinds of teas. I’m gonna be only discussing about the base
game tea this time. You’ll obtain a happy moodlet from drinking
healthy green tea, focused moodlet from pitch black tea, energized moodlet from run oolong
tea, confident moodlet from hot earl gray tea and flirty moodlet from steamy ginseng
tea. The calming chamomile tea on the other hand
won’t give you any moodlet after drinking it, but if your sim is feeling tense, it’ll
reduce its duration. If you have enough handiness skill, you can
add upgrades to your tea brewer. These two upgrades make it so that the machine
stays clean longer and the infuser upgrade improves the tea’s quality and adds in an
inspired moodlet after a sim drinks any kinds of tea from it. By the way, the house that I’m using here
is one of Indonesian’s traditional house called Joglo and this one is built by elfathiera
or plummysims. You should check her out! She’s a talented builder! 4. Holiday Cracker. Alright, I have to admit, this is technically
not from the base game, but since it comes from the holiday celebration pack that you
can download for free, I’m still gonna include it here anyway. You can find holiday crackers from buy mode,
or you can order one from the computer which doesn’t cost that much. Don’t worry, there’s no difference between
these two variations. After that you can either put it on the ground
to open it, or you can also open it straight from your inventory. You can find various random objects from opening
each one of them, such as nothing, useless junks, upgrade parts, random candies in which
your sim will eat immediately, giving them random emotional moodlet like playful, happy,
flirty, dazed, or energized, and you can even obtain these cute plushies called Meduso. These plushies are actually a collection set. There are 8 types of them and you can only
find them through opening the holiday crackers, so, open away! 5. Tragic Clown Painting. If you’ve played The Sims 1 before, you
might already know this one. As long as interaction goes, you can only
view the painting. After viewing it, there’s a chance nothing
will happen and you’ll get this sad buff. But there’s also another chance that a tragic
clown will actually visit your sim’s lot. This can be hinted by a sound effect playing
and a pop-up notification appearing just right after viewing the painting. Unlike in The Sims 1, the clown will be a
randomly generated townie so their name and appearance will be different every time. Once they’re around, anyone near them will
become sad. The clown will try to juggle from time to
time but they’ll always end up failing, thus making everyone even more miserable. They will also try to cheer up your sim and
it’ll always fail as well. They will stick around for some time and eventually,
they will leave the lot on their own. Additionally, if you want to act as a tragic
clown yourself, you can gain access to its outfit, hair, and make up in Create-a-Sim. Once worn, your sim will always have a very
sad buff as long as you wear the tragic clown clothing. You’ll also be able to perform tragic clown
interactions, such as juggle and tragically try to cheer up. 6. Digitalistic Sketchpad. This is basically a portable digital version
of the painting easel. I mean sure, you can still put the painting
easel into your inventory and place it anywhere, but you can use the sketchpad anywhere and
anytime without needing to place it into the world as long as your sim can stand or sit
since it’s much more portable. The result of the painting will be the same
as if you paint using the easel. The sketchpad also allows you to paint a unique
type of artstyle called illustrative painting which can only be painted using the sketchpad
once you’ve reached level 2 of the painting skill. Additionally, you can add high performance
upgrade to the sketchpad if you have level 4 handiness skill. This upgrade makes it so that sims can paint
much much faster, making the easel pretty much obsolete. The only downside of this compared to a painting
easel is probably the fact that you can’t paint emotional paintings with the sketchpad,
but everything else is better with this in my opinion. 7. Magic PlantSim Stump. This object was first introduced back in 2017
when the “PlantSim” challenge is active for a limited time, but you can still utilize
this object now. You need to fill it with all 6 types of magic
beans. When the challenge was active back then, you
can obtain these beans from the plantsims NPCs wandering about. Now, you can only find it once your sim reaches
level 10 gardening skill where they can order rare seed packs from the computer or planter
bowl which cost around 1000 simoleons each. Opening these seed packs will give you random
rare seeds, but there’s a chance it’ll contain a random type of magic bean. Because of that, you need to buy a lot of
them to complete your magic bean collection. Once you’ve got all 6 types of them, place
them on the stump and then a “water” interaction can be done to it. Doing this will transform it into a huge magical
tree with a cave entrance. You can choose to explore the cave in which
your sim will enter it and disappear for a while. Once they finish exploring, you’ll obtain
a fruit called “forbidden fruit of the plantsim” in your inventory. You can then either plant it to produce more
forbidden fruit or eat it right away. When eaten, your sim will then be turned into
a PlantSim with green skin and hair which will lasts for 5 days. While becoming a PlantSim, a lot of your sim’s
biology will change. Their bladder need will be replaced by water
need which can be fulfilled by coming in contact with water, and this need will be used up
when they’re photosynthesizing if it’s sunny outside to fulfil their hunger need
since they can’t eat to fulfil it anymore. They can also absorb solar energy from other
plants to fulfil it. After 5 days, they’ll become normal again
and you’ll need to eat another forbidden fruit to turn back to a plantsim.
8. Fishing Allowed Sign. This object was added from the pond update
back in July 2021. This object allows you to fish on ponds so
it’s perfect if you still want to increase your fishing skill but you don’t want to
get out of your home. You can only put the sign on ponds. At first, you cannot stock your ponds with
any fish if you haven’t discovered one in your household collection. Once you’ve caught different kinds of fish,
those fish can then be stocked into the pond so you’re able to fish the selected fish
from the pond if its conditions are met (like using the correct bait if those fish require
baits to be caught). The more types of fish you caught, the more
types of fish you can stock. You can even catch a swordfish straight from
the backyard if you want. 9. Coolala, The Defender Wall Light. If you’ve played as child sims before, you
may already know that every once in a while, when your child is sleeping, a monster under
the bed may appear and disturb their sleep which can be really annoying because they’ll
be too scared to sleep for a while. You might think befriending the monster prevents
this, but you know what happens after that? They’ll get too excited that they don’t
want to go to sleep instead. *sigh* kids these days. To prevent this from happening, just place
this nightlamp anywhere in the kid’s bedroom and the monster will never disturb their sleep
again. If you feel like the lamp is too noticeable,
you can just shrink it and hide it somewhere around the bedroom if you want. 10. Junior Wizard Starter Set. This is a science table that is only accessible
to children, but there’s a lot of neat stuff you can do with it. At first, your sims can only experiment with
it which will increase their mental skill, but as the skill progresses, you’ll unlock
different types of potions that you can make. At level 3, they can create the health potion,
which will fulfil sim’s hunger need if drunk. I think this is the most useful potion out
of all, especially due to the fact that older sims can also drink potions made by children
as well. At level 7, they can create the emotion drink,
which will give random emotional moodlets to the drinker. It can either be happy, bored, uncomfortable,
and confident. And finally, at level 10, they can create
the stink potion. After drinking it, the sim will fart, have
their bladder need decrease, and they’ll gain an uncomfortable moodlet. It’s kinda useless if you ask me so don’t
bother making it. 11. Sims Sessions Objects. Do you remember Sims Sessions, the limited-time
event back in June 2021 that adds in a music festival featuring real life artists performing
concerts? Yeah, besides that, the event also adds in
new items like a concert stage and objects from other packs like stalls, tents, etc that
can be used even if you don’t own the packs the objects originally came from. After the event ended, these objects were
available in debug buy mode using the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat, but only for a few months. Now, it can no longer be found anywhere in
buy mode even after using the cheat. I think it got removed from buy mode in an
update patch months after the events. Worry not though, because these objects are
actually still in the game. You can access them from the gallery, where
many simmers, including me, have uploaded all the objects from the event here so everyone
can still have access to them. Some of the objects are decorational, but
some others, like the tents, food stalls, and the sales tables, can still be used and
interacted. Sims can sleep in the tent, place them anywhere
in the world, hire vendors, buy some food and merchandise from the stall, sell your
own stuff using the sales table, and, if you have mods that enable debug cheats such as
MC Command Center, you can make the artists from the events perform the concert once you’ve
placed a piano and use some debug cheats from the stage. So those are 11 neat base game objects that
you need to try out in my opinion. Do you know any other neat base game objects
that I haven’t mentioned here? Feel free to let me know in the comments. Also, be sure to watch Petey Plays It’s
video about it as well. You should also check out his channel since
he makes great videos on Sims 4 guides. Anyway, thank you so much guys for watching
this video, be sure to subscribe if you haven’t, and see you later!
