*THE ROOMMATE* is the WORST horror movie I've EVER seen

cool hello troublemakers and welcome in to another movie commentary monday where i post a movie commentary every single tuesday right before i sat down to film i got an instagram dm from somebody it was actually a voice note now i'm not on instagram very often so i think this might be a little bit serendipitous they wanted to let me know that they loved watching my videos and made them happy and that they're not a very happy person in general and they're thinking about not being around for very long i think especially because it was a voice note and i could hear it uh just hear the the anguish um what i would love is for the troublemaker gang in the comments section of this video is to just kind of rally around i want you guys to let her know that she is loved that she has people that she can talk to i'm gonna message them as well of course but i would love for our community to rally around and i'm also going to be posting some resources in the description so if you feel like you don't have anyone to talk to i'll be posting some links and some phone numbers that you can call and don't be embarrassed about calling and talking about this stuff i think a lot of times when you repress the things that you're feeling they just kind of like build up on your shoulders and it makes it feel insurmountable but as soon as you start letting the stuff out to people that care things feel a lot better i don't mean to start this video on such a heavy note but i would i don't know my favorite thing about doing youtube is having a community and you guys always shower me with so much community of people here that are gonna give you a big ass hug let's talk about the roommates okay so a few weeks ago i did jennifer's body right jennifer's body is about two friends and then a guy that sums it up right hey what was jennifer's body about so there's two friends and then there's a guy fill in the blanks like jennifer's body this movie features an oc alum let me tell you a little something about kamjarigande that is not a flattering photo my guy what did you do to your hair kendrigande has been robbed of oscar after oscar which is a travesty however the academy cannot take away one of the greatest achievements in hollywood and that is the back-to-back mtv movie award for best fight back to back i'm talking one year and then i'm talking the next year that's hard to do some would say that's harder than getting an academy award so okay we've waited long enough you're in room 316 ah like john 3 16 where my where my bible buddies at i don't know the bible yo the coloring on this is so dark and shadowy bad driver hey uh i'm crazy well bad driver how old are you that's something a [ __ ] dad would say watch this watch this bad driver my bad nice to meet you my name's frank wait a second didn't leighton beaster marry adam brody listen man any family of the oc is family of mine not wasting any time it's been two and a half ah cam ah damn drum that jumped that set bro it's been three minutes and she's moved into college met her friend and is already at her first frat party this thing is moving at a lightning pace hey you're that cute drummer from that shitty band [Laughter] you look the same who casted this movie why would you cast identical actors jason what do you want jason i wanted to hear your voice i just wanted to hear your voice oh he got it bad i'm just making it harder that's what she said do you mind if i take a look at what you are doing actually i do she's gonna have like drawn her asleep or something it's gonna be weird oh god i'm ready just unleash the weird right now i'm ready for it what you create will be considered art and don't let anyone this guy is getting murdered it's something in the baldness of his head that tells me he's getting killed yeah i have two things i can't teach that is style and desire oh she's got style do you see her hat just scream style you guys three we're going to seven grand you guys in not gonna get killed you're the first one to have had since she died so you're the first roommate i've had since she died you're dorming meaning it's your first year of college meaning you live with your family probably that's your first roommate ever and then everyone else up to this point has just been your family right put a [ __ ] lid on the ah how dumb how dumb is my question ah this move got better okay that's it that's the last me freaking out about chemistry gande perfect oh her ears aren't pierced okay okay yep here we go there's some weird [ __ ] this is the weird [ __ ] that you should have been doing is the girl is just willing to put herself through some serious physical pain just to please the other girl yes you got some psycho behavior man look at that no no oh you had me i was hooked but you got to do some [ __ ] you can't just have her walk away deliver a line do something weird something is up with your roommate i'm staying away from her okay i gotta go there's no chemistry between any of the actors fashions fade but style is eternal the teacher impressed with the student but it can buy you a good stylist touche oh he wants to bang that student so bad i still want to be you when i grow up hell i want to be me when i grow up cringe i almost freaked out i almost celebrated the fact that he was on screen kept my mouth shut you're welcome we're over freaking out that he's in this movie i haven't seen you around like ah sorry sorry that was just the one it was just the one it was a small noise let it go oh she's about to get murdered okay these are murderer shots these are murder shots here we go okay nice back nice tummy what am i watching hello she's gonna rip up on the shower no one's gonna be in it and someone's gonna attack her from behind nothing there easy peasy now that's scary as hell someone just keeps turning on showers bro i would freak out don't just keep going through the bathroom leave this girl's so dumb oh from behind from behind from behind [ __ ] oh don't close that and you were a bad influence on earth okay that's a horrifying shot that was a good shot but i'm not really afraid of of uh of leighton meester she's like 5'3 95 pounds i'm not afraid of it where were you oh nowhere mom you got a curfew no yeah you see how he delivered that line you got a curfew who else could deliver it like that daniel day-lewis not a chance last night i was just worried about you you don't need to worry about me i can take care of myself we're good right yeah we're good i can just see this on the page and i don't know who the producer was that saw the script and was like yes this shit's gonna bang okay i like the score the sound it's got a very distinct eerie feeling to it okay that that just looks too planned and you held it for way too long oh what book i think i'll take this book and it's perfectly half her face and she just stands there you had the shop for too long [Music] she booked it out of there but um should we go yes we should my place or yours oh it's about time yes and i'll make you a bet okay okay but you finish before i do this is kind of stupid wait you implied that he caught sight of her stomach and that's what made him lose focus like he was so turned on by the side of her stomach he forgot to hold on to a bar i don't [ __ ] i'm gonna make a joke anyways honestly seeing her bare skin would make his grip tighten around the rod don't touch your feet okay look oh okay yeah it's just kind of dark the whole film is so dark that's the problem look at how heavy the shadows are i get that has like a horror effect but this isn't the horror part of the movie if you notice if you watch horror films like the early parts there's a lot of sunlight the face is how well it but once you get into the later part of the films it's a lot of it's like more dark claustrophobic that's intentionally done this film is just dark from beginning to end i feel like it's going to be what if it brightened at the end that'd be cool we don't answer her phone see this girl is trifling through minka kelly's stuff that's the problem minka kelly you need better security one way to keep your password secure uh he's going to he's going to try it best designers push the boundaries on what's acceptable are you willing to push my boundaries ah he did it you son of a [ __ ] i knew it i knew you were up to no i'll give it points it wasn't the greatest transition but it's something this isn't really a horror movie though because all late meester has done is get rid of a toxic friend and then scare off her ex-boyfriend and also get revenge on professor that tried to leverage sex for favors she's kind of a badass friend oh [ __ ] oh [ __ ] hey oh what the [ __ ] i'm not really scared there's nothing really scary about this movie rebecca we were never friends oh they didn't do a dramatic push-in for that [ __ ] acting watch this ready ready watch the camera get up in her grill we were never we were never friends all right i'll catch you later you're gonna see some [ __ ] huh i forgot my pad she's gonna find the medication yep maybe this is a refill maybe she's been taking him the whole time yeah i don't think she's ever taken him i think cam is just chilling because what danger like he's so strong he went back to bad do you guys know this he went back to back mtv fighterworks he ain't scared of her oh boy are we gonna get our first murder just doing my job just doing my job where's the toothpick he had a toothpick in his mouth and he's gonna have a toothpick in his mouth in a second see there it is no continuity what the hell spoiled [ __ ] [ __ ] come on a dog kill somebody they're really beautiful well that's the designer friend right okay she's gonna die okay visa cinnamon can i try nope she's gonna kiss her taste it on her lips yup get to it get to it all right why it's a cool shot but it's so it has no effect there's no reason and this happened to jennifer's body as well they just have a cool shot for no reason there's no payoff to it it's just like oh it's cool camera work but like that's the thing is like the camera should make you feel something rebecca i want a tattoo it's gonna be max creepy because we don't have enough time for it to be like something casually creepy it's gonna be wild it's gonna be like a heart with their names in it all done i knew it i knew it i i called it i didn't call it i was thinking that but i thought that was too crazy you can think of me as your sister that's [ __ ] where's your necklace i can't find it it's okay oh don't go no cam no don't go alone find the necklace just let me know i would photograph him too he's too handsome he's clean or dirty somewhere in between me [Laughter] is that not yours is that creepy i'm returning this and you gotta do something no i don't want you to go back there that scene had no tension of all the weird things you've been building up like she's keeps the secret notebook what's in the notebook it's just one drawing of her over and over what if she's just practicing a face it doesn't even really look like mika kelly and honestly nikki kelly looks like leighton meester so late meester could just say it's a picture of me it's a drawing of me that's such a letdown i knew it was gonna be that though because like i know the movie was gonna be creative enough to figure some [ __ ] out this isn't until i hate myself i'm gonna get through it because i just need to know if cam's gonna live jason it's gonna be [ __ ] jason no that's creepy in the first 10 minutes of the movie 30 minutes even that's not creepy now we know that the girl is a psychopath hey sarah it's jason i'm actually in front of your dorm i just flew in is that kim shigande 2.0 what is this dog that looks exactly like cam chicande in a wig did i enter the twilight zone minka kelly looks like leighton meester cam she gonna looks like this guy sarah honestly i feel like the ending should be this girl just dates her ex-boyfriend just this twin thing i feel like it will work dog this is the worst horror movie i've ever seen there's like 10 minutes left and there's so many like loose threads left okay so she has her sister's necklace that was a thread we got the ex-boyfriend to deal with we need horror of some sort there's been nothing horrific except the cat thing that was missed and then i'm missing oh the irene the fashion designer friend that laden mr kissed where is she you need to resolve that oh she's gonna have sex with him in the dark and he's gonna be like oh you have the same hat you must be her oh if they're having sex and he realizes and she slashes his throat i'm glad you came that feels good dog you haven't seen this girl in months you're the only one with keys to your hotel room so a girl sneaks into your hotel room you're just going to assume it's your ex-girlfriend and then also you're not going to be like oh hey ex-girlfriend we need to talk but instead she starts kissing on your back and you're like yeah i'm just going to assume that it's you my ex-girlfriend [Music] oh my god yeah that's so [ __ ] he sees a tattoo and he's like yep now i don't need to see your face i see the tattoo that's good enough for me i'm just gonna close my eyes do what you will with a box cutter [Music] what the [ __ ] is wrong with this movie that was so bad dog jennifer's body came out in 2009 this is 2011. killing at the end of the movie with the box cutter you can't just rip that off no blood this this could be pg for all we know there's been no blood the sex scene was pg-esque irene i am your friend no you're not yes i am no we're here because you betrayed me i'm your friend stop stop saying things you don't make this is some student film vibes baby i'm gonna show you a good scene a scene where there's a gun involved and there's actual tension and drama i'm gonna show it to you just give me a minute we just gotta power through [ __ ] seven more minutes maybe yeah lock it unlock it there you go why are you leaving [Music] why are you trying to jump from the building your friend is stuck [ __ ] minka kelly she literally just left her friend behind she's escaping through a window while her friends handcuffed to a bed thank god for cancer gande yeah you deserve this you deserve this can we watch this again that was [ __ ] horrible let's watch this whole thing again and then watch how trash this plays out [ __ ] horrible i'm just saying he should have been nominated for a third mtv fight award you see that punch come on cam she's getting tossed out the window i'm calling it right now backstabber it's funny box cutter's blade is like this long it's not a death shot that didn't kill you this movie pisses me off so hard the only person that died was some trash character that was introduced just so that he could die she's not dead okay if she's still alive no the movie's over there's not enough time to bring her back and have one more fight yeah yep okay here we go here we go here we go oh the necklace yep she's gonna tear the necklace so that this could be jennifer's body too cam's alive i'm chilling you know you can move in with me if you want i don't think i want a roommate for a while that wasn't like a solid cathartic moment this is the worst movie i've ever seen that's hyperbolic this is not the worst movie ever because a movie called swiped exists rotten tomato i should have checked the rotten tomatoes on this before i started guesses make your guesses now i'm saying 11 that's my guess four pers when did this [ __ ] happen it didn't the [ __ ] photos are scarier than the movie i should have just watched a slideshow they're so similar oh let me show you let me treat you please okay this is for this
