[Music] hello from beautiful yorkshire hello again jorg and i are on our way to northumberland today and we thought we would stop here in yorkshire to visit this gorgeous house behind us yeah which is newbie and what you should know is this is kind of the real downton abbey yes because there was a lord grantham here yeah around 1800 and lord grantham had a daughter called lady mary yeah and also the location of the house is very similar to the downton abbey in the film yeah yeah it's near skipton first york yeah so it could have been yeah it could be a kind of model for downton abbey yes so many similarities maybe they just couldn't get the house maybe and we don't want to talk too much but just have a look at the house yeah it's wonderful it's gorgeous [Music] newbie hall quite often appears in tv period dramas mansfield park i think the version from 2007 peaky blinders gentleman jack so many more not to forget victoria and where york is sitting do you know the scene i think this here was used in peaky blinders yes it was [Music] the scene for peaky blinders i think it was there good opinion i think it was you know what i will check it out on the internet and then add a photo and then we'll see [Music] when we arrived the first thing we did was we went inside of the house and because it's private we weren't allowed to film no we would have liked to show it to you yeah you know what we do is i think we will just find pictures and then show you some of the rooms and i think york feels the very same as me the library it is a so-called adamesque style so neoclassical style with lots of symmetry amazing yes the colors the color combination it just shows good taste it really does and the library with all the old books was just so yeah it was cozy yeah yeah it invites you to read yeah i was about to say because the rooms weren't like very huge i mean of course big but still so cozy and the color combinations like very richardson yeah very pretty i actually could live there me too i you know i really love this style and what people and the color combinations people come up with is stunning really really stunning and it's good that they kept it yeah yeah yeah because in the victorian times i wouldn't have liked that kind of combination no but i i must say whenever i see that sometimes i really struggle what kind of period is my actually favorite but i think i really just love georgian yeah i really love georgia mid-18th century yeah so so beautiful and the library by the way it used to be the dining room back in the day and they told us they hold weddings there so you can get married in the library yeah we maybe get remarried q6 yeah i was thinking of nice i know they have a small reception family there yeah yes it would be amazing [Music] we said we would have a little lunch break before we leave newbie hall yeah and i think it's another two hour drive yes it's tomorrow yeah it's not too bad actually but i'm hungry yeah as always and this is what we have we have jack of so this is yolks which is called yeah it's a jacket of bolognese yeah which one is something i've never seen that before and this is cheddar [Music] [Music] [Music] i saw the queen really yes queen bear i must admit i didn't go into what is this called bear museum and yeah went by himself it's funny and you said the royal family yes you can see the royal family as bears yes i can't wait when i edit it queen bear it is a second [Music] [Music] one last glimpse of the house and then we have to carry on and we hope you liked it yeah i loved it me too again it's nice this one is different as well very very different with a gorgeous herbaceous border yeah now what i like is that you walk around the corner and you have a totally different view yeah they have like different different gardens yes you've got a rock garden yeah the rose pergular wonderful it's called sylvia garden this is the name of my oldest sister so that's nice and yeah we really love the house the real downton abbey isn't it glorious [Music] we just arrived at our tiny cottage it's very tiny it's called middle cottage here in northumberland but we booked it last minute and to be honest with you i searched the internet for hours and hours and i was so lucky that we found this one and it's fine yeah but it's nice for cottage it is nice right let's go inside so this is where you come in and this is a little kitchen area i love the color of the cupboards and here you have a small snug very cozy let's go upstairs and this is our bedroom which is quite lovely it's basically a bigger hotel room i would say i really love the trollujoue curtains and this is the bathroom [Music] it's a bit hard to film in here because it's a small space but you know this is absolutely fine great glad i found it like last minute so that's really nice and and this is what i saw on the internet together with the 12 curtains and thought this looks beautiful [Music] good morning good morning i can't believe where we are yerk yes we're on craigslist we are on craigslist in northumberland and last time we were here was just before our first lockdown here in england end of february yeah and some of you might remember that we said no you actually said it yet we would need to come back for the rhododendron bloom and that's what we did although we must say it looks like it might be a little bit too soon yeah so they're not in full bloom not in full bloom not all of them no they said like end of may the first two weeks of june but i think because it's been quite cold it might be a little bit later yeah but nonetheless no this property is one of our most favorite ones and we actually we put the time slot for the inside of the house again so we hope you don't mind you must see it again it's just so i don't know i'm i'm speechless because i love this so much yes it's an interesting house it's a big house yeah yeah and it's a typical victorian house yes just have a look the location is spectacular [Music] so lord armstrong created all the woodland you can see around us with millions of trees lakes incredible this is i think that's why we just we we had to come back because this place is so incredible and unique yeah when you're in the house you can see the late victorian inspiration he got it from the art and crafts movement yeah the wallpapers very much william morris and we we love william morris yeah yeah we've got wallpaper now yeah i'm i'm obsessed with william morris wallpaper it will never go out of style never and how lucky are we with the weather today yes you can see the iron bridge here was blue by the armstrong yes and the view is not typical english no it reminds of switzerland switzerland germany south of germany bavaria yeah it's really lovely like in the alps yes i agree [Music] [Music] and just like last year we're doing the carriage drive and want to find a nice spot to sit and have a lemonade and it seems that we are about two weeks too early not many ruda denver and blooms i'm quite sad about that yeah we found a lovely spot here and as we said last year all of this is rhododendron and it will take another two weeks we think and i'm so sad about it and so sorry because we wanted to film this for you but i think it's it's so hard to time it and yeah just a bit unlucky in two weeks time we will spend a week in scotland yeah and i think what we should do is on the way up all the way not down have a stop here because then yeah yeah just uh just to have a walk because then the road to denver will be in movie are you sure yeah i'm 100 i i don't know i don't know well i think it will look amazing yeah and that's what i was hoping to see today and fill with you and yeah it's just so hard to time but you know what let's have a lemonade now i'm having a lemonade and jerk is having a ginger beer [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] [Music] this morning on our way to crackside we came across this beautiful bridge behind us and i think the bridge might belong to the national trust property that we spotted yeah which is wellington wellington we didn't have that on our list so far and it looks so nice what we will do now is we will walk up the street and film the house because it looks really really lovely hi there are you enjoying the shade we are quite jealous you're so cute this is wellington and i don't know if you can see it because it's quite sunny but it has a spectacular setting it looks like a georgian house i love it i think we really have to visit that next time the thing is we can't really be spontaneous right now with uh visiting national trust properties because we have to book a time slot otherwise i think we would have visited that maybe on monday yeah but yeah we'll need to find more info about the screen we both look shattered yes it's been a long day yeah it's almost 8 p.m and we've been out and walking around all day long yeah yes how lucky yeah on the other hand we are a bit disappointed yes because well it it didn't work out as we have planned and with the missing prototype from jones it was in bloom but not as we expected it i think like three percent yes no we should have waited two or three weeks but that's the thing like you have to or we have to book accommodation and there's no chance that if we would live nearby we could plan it last minute but not like that and the two weeks time we're gonna heading i'll head to scotland we'll see well that wasn't we are gonna notice scotland i mean we'll see if we should make another detail i'm not sure we'll see we'll keep you posted you will see it on this channel we hope you still like the video we had a nice day yeah and we can really recommend greg's side we still love it northumberland is it's so much countryside yes very rural so many sheep yeah which i love and yeah we hope you liked it and as always we'll see you again very soon yeah stay safe and until next time yeah bye bye bye
