egypt one of the few countries in the world that's remained open to travelers at this time but somehow the world's most famous temples remain empty this is one of the most unforgettable travel experiences of my life but somehow i really can't recommend it to everyone welcome to cairo so far everything's been super streamlined over an hour and a half here at customs they're trying to take gopros lenses everything no reason why it's out of control we lost a few cameras few lenses no matter i've got all the cameras i need and today's video is in 4k i could use a bit of sleep this is the group we're traveling with we have mohanam we've got seoul we've got max grover and ribby and we're starting off our day here in cairo with an egyptian breakfast you're not gonna believe this but traditional egyptian breakfast typically consists of french fries we got some falafel we got eggplants we got beans and flatbread with some runny eggs and some beef egyptian coffee is similar to turkish but a little bit less bitter oh my gosh i'm burning my fingers so cairo is the kind of place where you can literally have breakfast for a dollar in this case this one was a little pricier it's a famous spot so that was 15 per person just a quick egyptian road crossing here no crosswalks so [Music] welcome to old town cairo right behind me here in old town cairo this right here is a 1 000 year old street but back in the day these were the walls that kept the people on the inside safe from invaders from intruders [Applause] this is exactly how i pictured a thousand-year-old street looking it's got so much personality so many stories here to be told i have to say one thing i'm noticing egyptian people are very loud very lively these streets are nowhere near as full as they normally be but it feels alive so this is where the locals come to hang out this isn't just a tourist street but what i'm really loving most about this street right now is i can feel its history this is one of the best ways you can ever transport yourself into the past [Music] it's also super chaotic we're now going to head to ken el hillily no how do you say that's the this is the old town market and it's generally a night market so that's when it gets busiest craziest it's full of tight alleyways local food let's get at it [Music] how much for the catbox [Applause] [Music] [Applause] i have no idea how that even happened we just look back and there's a massive group forming i just came across the most honest salesman he says how can i take your money just straight faced it i love him so this is the market during the day but you have to see it at night well turns out it's not such a night market more of a sunset market due to the current situation everything is closing by 10 pm lesson learned let's go back to the daytime all right there's the egyptian symphony horns from all directions at all times of the day it's a beautiful thing my brother so far the destination that i've traveled the most comparable to cairo would have to be marrakesh in morocco every now and then though i do get like a bit of a new delhi vibe driving through india the craziness of the streets but it's definitely about one level down from new delhi [Music] just a little further are we there we made it but look at that view getting up on top of this fire has given us a full panoramic of cairo and actually right behind me you'll see a giant citadel and on that is the muhammad ali mosque not the boxer but that right there is where saladan apparently one of the former rulers and famous sultans of egypt once lived we've been waiting for close to half an hour i don't know where they took the others boys will be boys i guess and we have arrived at our sunset viewpoint and apparently before oh there they are so it's our moment we're gonna see the pyramids don't cry you have a tissue no i don't do you want to get the 150 to 600 lens out oh yeah the one that isn't anywhere to be had that's right so we might not have our long lens but we now have two cameras that can shoot in 8k which allows us to do this [Music] i don't even know where we are but we've come to a restaurant that's supposed to be very famous but this is one of the most chaotic places i have ever been [Music] dinner looks absolutely lit this place is wild [Music] oh my lord it's so hot [Music] so good that is how you mass produce the meat the noise the smells it's just incredible only at brisbane yes that's right subscribe speech speech academy thank you so much for making my dreams come the road they're true our food so fresh hot bread already going to be good dip it in here it's not what you'd expect it tastes a little like pesto but without the creaminess shout out to this guy setting it all up he told us is one of the most famous places where you can try traditional egyptian food without a crazy price and this has been amazing the best meal i could have ever imagined having here this blew my expectations out of the water so much fun so lively so many street horns and so much good food thank you guys it was delicious now how many times have you been working on a project and seen this now try editing a 4k multiple level timeline with sound design color grades luts and you start to see that a lot it's one of the most frustrating things as an editor aside for that i really hate that dog now the reason you're seeing that spinning wheel is because you have a bottleneck and quite likely it's that your gpu is not keeping up today's video is made in partnership with nvidia studio my team and i edited this entire cairo video using this laptop right here the hp nv15 a laptop built for creatives but what makes this computer so equipped for creatives is what's housed inside of it and that is the nvidia geforce rtx 2060 gpu it is that gpu power that has allowed us to just cut through these intensive edits like this video you're watching time is money and this computer gives you time back if you want to see how the hp envy 15 can revolutionize your workflow then check out that link down below but i'll also share more about the experience using this computer at the very end of the video so guys let's get back to crazy and chaotic cairo [Music] and all good dinners are followed by a good dessert apparently the best ice cream in town thank you wow i'm a believer freshly made amazing ice cream from such a small little home run place this is definitely one of those local spots that if you come to cairo you definitely got to make your way down here if you're an ice cream lover like me it's thebomb.com seeing the pyramid with the sunrise is something you could only dream of this right here is the mina house by marriott normally the pyramids don't open up till 8 a.m but nowadays it's not till 9. so while you'll be giving up money and sleep this is the most iconic sunrise you could ever have because that is the one monument that pretty much everyone on this planet can identify iconic view with an iconic couple i've had my coffee i'm starting to feel way more alive after three hours of sleep last night it doesn't even matter because how many times in your life will you get to have that view with your morning coffee all right guys we all get to live out max's lifelong dream today to experience a golf cart it's amazing so far the speeds we're reaching are unbelievable and now it's my time because we're heading towards that they tried to screw us up oh man we're getting surrounded by people trying to sell us things and like we're walking towards the pyramid and this guy's like oh no you're going the wrong way you have to come down here there's like a sign to like a horse we're like no way so i went ask the guard he's like yeah don't listen to him keep going say what you will about travel in 2020 it's been full of ups and downs but there's one thing you will never ever ever get to see again at least not that i foresee and that is an empty pyramid of giza there is no one else here [Music] max this is a moment right here it's crazy caboose caboose this is caboose caboria is going to show us the best of the pyramids shall i well what are you serious what if they lock it ever wonder what it's like entering into a pyramid i didn't what the heck we might never see the light of day again this is crazy this is according to ruby don't blame me if it's wrong apparently the reason you crouch to get into the pyramid is because you're supposed to bow down to the pharaoh this is one of the coolest things i've ever experienced in my life look up is that a booby trap above you that's where they dropped the scorpions from one block from there all the way to here i think we can move it saul can do it if anyone could do it and here we are in the tomb insane guys that is where a pharaoh once lays rocks again raising the question aliens all right here are the whips for today is giving us the best experience you could ask for here at the pyramids the horse you call kawagawa actually rescue horses treated with love i love him my baby my dream i'm sorry oh you're too heavy man this is ahmed and ahmed is the reason we have this experience the legend the mvp let's get ready for something epic i'm sorry give me a second you're finished how do i look do i look good you look egyptian though yeah okay i feel like a local hey we begin our quest to find the lost scrolls of the lost creator academy module 12 is said to be hidden deep inside of the pharaoh's tomb but really it's hidden deep inside here one thing you need to know is that this right here the pyramid of giza was built in 2500 bc which means they didn't have electricity they didn't have motors they had just sheer strength and very primitive tools to build a mountain and this mountain is built up of nearly 2.5 million limestone blocks these limestone blocks can be as heavy as 74 000 kilograms now imagine the fact that these blocks were not all around this pyramid base they would have to be brought in from dozens if not hundreds of kilometers away to build up this massive structure it's truly one of the most impressive accomplishments of mankind some people would even say that there's only one explanation for its possibility and that is aliens you can't ask for a more egyptian experience than this right here look at that backdrop oh god it's a horse traffic jam i'm squished oh my god i'm first man ladies can we separate a little need for speed galloping with the pyramids of giza i don't know if that was on my bucket list but it definitely should have been hi that was wild we went so fast on the horses i've never gotten that fast in my life and there was one point where we all three me sol max we're coming around the same narrow corner at once mine got pushed to the outside near these rocks i thought for sure i was about to come off the cliff but luckily i'm sure the horses do this all the time but as a non-rider that was one of the scarier things i've experienced you guys i just want to say thank you for coming to the lost la blog meetup it's truly an honor to see all of your shining faces [Music] thank you so much chris we truly appreciate you there it is the iconic cats these sphinx and an absolutely iconic destination we all grew up seeing last time i visited here in february this entire courtyard was filled to the brim with tourists we didn't even bother to get out of the car to see the sphinx and now it's empty i feel bad saying this but it's amazing it's truly such an experience to be here right now to go from literally being inside of that pyramid to now being back here at the meena house let's take a quick dip and saul needs to put a shirt on because he's making me feel really self-conscious right now it's on the bus lost creators academy man you should have seen it before lca for lca it looked so different but lca changed my life what are you waiting for you want to make the change or not be wise think twice okay max you could use lca so the mina house is actually the oldest hotel in egypt this is such a moment right here the boys reuben and egypt's first ever swimming pool wow they haven't changed the water since this place is history and we are swimming in history here i am in front of one of the most iconic places in the world and i don't even know if i can openly recommend this part of egypt to every single traveler there's something i wanted to talk about for a while now on almost every major place we visited i felt the same feeling over and over again and i didn't want to speak out of emotion i wanted to take a second to compose my thoughts and be able to talk to you because i know some of you i know you might be watching this video and making your next vacation decision based on that from the moment we landed at the airport it became very apparent that this is a country where there's not exactly set systems it's all about who you come across and whether they're having a good or a bad day in this case they tried to take away all of my cameras all of my lenses after negotiation after even having connections on the inside i still could barely get any strings pulled now most people who come through won't have an issue with their camera at least entering the country but you might you might be that person that like us gets stopped now i want to talk about what will be a more common experience and a challenge in coming to cairo and that is going to be your experience at these different sites these incredible places like the pyramids of giza if anybody sees you with any form of a camera and you don't have those connections which we were fortunate to have you will have a lot of problems if it's associated with video game over don't bring a microphone out don't bring any big lenses they will simply get tons of people giving you problems and i'm even talking police we have been traveling with egyptians who could barely get us out of some of these situations now this part is probably again only pertaining to me and i have no idea how this happened or how this came to be but when we left our hotel the first day we were assigned an agent or someone that just followed us around all day he got in our car he joined us at lunch and he was actually really nice i was totally cool with having him there but it was just the fact that out of the blue somebody was tagging along it was a running joke that if we sent a text message to each other our fbi agent would also be part of the conversation they probably identified me as a potential reporter or something of that sort and so again i don't think that anyone else will have that experience but just kind of an interesting little ad to the situation and the final thing that i want to talk about is ruby she's had a bit of a challenge here as a female yes you're going to have to be very mindful of what you're wearing because if you're wearing a skirt if you're wearing anything that's short sleeve you're going to invite extra attention even when we went into one of the mosques one of the officials was filming her it wasn't for identification she had told him to stop he kept filming her and this is one of the officials working in the mosque from a safety perspective i would say overall i felt very safe but i can totally see how as a female traveler especially a solo female traveler i probably wouldn't be saying the same thing this is a country with some of the world's richest history with some of the world's most beautiful things to see i would still recommend this to experienced travelers but i just needed to put up that giant caution because this is not the destination for everyone now with that said i've been told by so many people things will only get much easier as we get outside of cairo and i really hope that all these problems and headaches that we've been experiencing go away i hope you got the full benefit of this video by watching it in 4k and if there's something you should know about 4k it's that while it may be beautiful it's also sometimes challenging to work with using an rtx studio laptop like the hp and v15 and the geforce rtx 2060 you can not only edit 4k resolution in real time but with most codecs you can go up to 6k in real time that means no need for proxies this computer kept up like a marathon runner even in moments of high stress and trust me we stressed it at points having after effects and premiere pro open at the same time switching in between apps during the editing of this project not a single frame was dropped i never experienced any beach balls or loading signs everything just kind of flew by i can easily say this computer passed and surpassed our expectations and it is definitely worthy of a creator's workflow if you want to see more about this computer and how it can optimize your workflow then check out that link down below and i will leave it there guys thank you so much for watching this video for making it this far for supporting me it truly means so so much and so much more to come from egypt all in 4k until then let's get lost again in the next one
