one of the world's biggest and craziest cities here's how you can see Cairo Egypt in just three days [Music] okay welcome back to another video today we're going to be going over Cairo Egypt and how you can best see this unbelievable City in just three days I'm gonna be going over everything you need to know before going and then I'll give you a detailed outline of the three days that I spent there and how I think you can best see all of what this amazing city has to offer alright let's waste no time and Dive Right In and I'm gonna start with safety as I did in my previous video so I know on the us.gov website they have Egypt listed as a level three travel advisory which means to reconsider travel due to terrorism which I find kind of interesting when I was there I never felt unsafe at any point in the trip never felt like someone's going to take advantage of me even wandering through huge crowds with tons of people I never felt as if I was going to be pickpocketed or someone was going to try and steal one of my belongings now that's not to say that it can't happen obviously you gotta pay super close to tension especially in Cairo you just never know who's going to be in that crowd so keeping a really good awareness of your surroundings at all time is going to benefit you immensely I think if you do that you'll most likely have no problems and be able to have peace of mind while exploring pretty much every place in this city okay so when you arrive you'll most likely fly into Cairo International Airport and then it's visa on arrival so right before Customs you'll see the booth visa on arrivals and you'll pay 25 to get the visa which lasts for 30 days on a single entry and you'll proceed right through I had no issues with this process at all I got right through with with ease so once you're through you'll probably try and figure out currency phone service and how to get into the city I would advise waiting until you get into the city to exchange currencies I really couldn't figure out the ATMs and I think a lot of the times they charge you a lot for transfer fees so if you can wait until you get into the City and then you'll go to a bank that's what I did I avoided the ATMs I went to a bank I exchanged 100 US dollars for Egyptian pounds which look like this and I think that would be plenty to get you through at least three days if not even more now what to do for phone service I have a t so I just went with their pay per day plan uh so I don't have too much information on the different carriers for Egypt but I wouldn't imagine that it's super hard to figure out now how to get from the airport to the city and off to your hotel or hostel use Uber I can't stress this enough I used it throughout my entire stay uh wherever I was going Uber was so so reliable and so so cheap the Ubers were about one to three dollars just getting around the city which is virtually nothing and then going from the airport to the city and back was about five to six dollars so an amazingly affordable option the longest that I waited for an Uber as well was a whopping two minute so no matter where you are there's always an Uber right there and it's just an amazing way to get around the city okay so moving on to accommodation where should you stay hotel Airbnb hostel Etc Cairo is a city where you can spend hundreds of dollars per night or virtually nothing as a Solo Traveler I went with a hostel there are so many different options I would recommend staying in downtown Cairo old Cairo or Islamic Cairo I went with downtown and I spent eight dollars per night to stay in holy sheet hostel which was a great option centrally located and just perfect for what I was doing now if you're in a group look into going with an Airbnb possibly now if you're with a family maybe look into a hotel and then another option Twos for stays if you're planning on seeing the pyramids I know you can stay in Giza and there's a lot of options with amazing views of the pyramid so it might just be something to check out if that intrigues you but I found that saying in Cairo was more practical and probably what I'll recommend you doing since that's where you'll probably be spending the majority of your time okay so before heading out to explore I have to bring up the topic of scammers and how to avoid them so they use a very interesting technique that was a lot different from the cities that I went to in Europe so essentially what happened to me was I went out to explore and I got approached by several of these guys on the street they are very very friendly just wanting to talk so naturally I thought that they meant well and they wanted to show me around so they would lead me down the street I would be walking with them have actually pretty good conversations but eventually it ends up them leading you to their stores where they try and sell you stuff so just pay a close attention to that um it's okay to be friendly but just be aware that they might end up taking you to a store to try and sell you stuff and just politely decline and continue on with your day but now how do you see this unbelievable City in just three days and this is just my itinerary so there are so many different activities that you can do definitely look into those options if something intrigues you definitely go and do it you really can't go wrong and I'm quite sure you can work it into the short stay that you have and then one last thing this city is absolutely chaotic there are car horns every second when you're out exploring people everywhere yelling [Music] [Applause] it's wild so my recommendation would be to just embrace it soak it up uh because it really is something to see okay so day one I flew into Cairo in the morning then Uber to my hostel got my bearings and then headed out to explore and what I'd recommend doing is seeing old Cairo and Islamic Cairo so take the whole day to walk around these two neighborhoods as you can see on the map there is so much to see here I can't even stress it enough um so many different streets so much culture so much action there's just a lot happening in these areas so interact with the people try the food and just experience all that this is because it's truly amazing one thing I did in particular was check out the AL Azar mosque that's right in between the two neighborhoods pretty cool Moss to see and then from there just went and continued walking uh interacting with the people was super awesome everyone was very friendly I stopped and just soaked in all the scenes uh but yeah take day one and explore that area now for dinner I went to a place called fish and chips uh might sound a little touristy but it was actually a really cute little place near my hostel I'll put it here on the map and they had actually pretty damn good seafood here's a video right here of my meal and this was a great option for me to switch it up a little bit from the kebabs and Shawarma so this tasted great so I'd recommend going here for dinner to conclude day one okay moving on to day two this is a ginormous day where I'd recommend going and seeing the pyramids so get up super early and take an Uber over to the Great Pyramids of Giza now it's super important on this where to Uber to what entrance so there's the main entrance up near the Great Pyramid of these and then there's the other entrance near the Sphinx as you can see here on the map make sure to go the entrance near the Great Pyramid of Giza because that's the one that opens right at 7 A.M my Uber took me to the Sphinx one and it didn't open until 7 30 or 8 so you can get into the site first thing by going to the main entrance and avoiding a lot of the crowds now starting off you'll see the Great Pyramid of Giza first and then it's perfect because it allows you to make a loop and see all three pyramids first thing in the morning before the crowds arrive and it's such a cool experience to get up and close to a wonder of the world like that and be able to take in all the sites without the annoying tourists and big crowds so you'll go down the line of the pyramids and then I'd recommend heading up to the panoramic Point as you can see here on the map really really cool and the best part about it is there was no one up there when I was up there so so it's such an amazing thing to see without people and it's just you and the pyramids it kind of felt surreal in some ways so then you'll walk back down you'll have an amazing view the whole walk down with virtually no people and then you can end your time there at the Sphinx now there were a lot of crowds when I was there but I feel like it was worth it to see the pyramids without the crowds and then the Sphinx with the crowd just my opinion and then you'll leave uh through the Sphinx entrance so you'll head out that way and then catch an Uber back into Cairo so once you get back to Cairo it'll probably be around lunch time maybe a little bit later and I'd recommend heading over to Abu Tarik which is a traditional kosheri restaurant this is an Egyptian Dish as you can see here on the video uh actually really really interesting it's like this pasta with all sorts of toppings tasted really really good and I just had a great experience at this particular place I'll put it here on the map so go there for lunch and then from there I'd recommend making your way over to Zamalek this is a very unique area of Cairo it's kind of a more laid back Vibe so it's not so chaotic you don't have all the horns and Chaos as you do in some other areas so after morning spent at the pyramids I thought this was great just to walk around this area and kind of enjoy some of the peace and quiet uh while still exploring as well and I'd recommend staying over here for dinner there are a number of different spots that you can look up for dinner around this area all get pretty good reviews I went uh with O's pasta I know it's pasta restaurant Italian but it was actually really really good and again just a great switch up from the typical foods like kebab and Shawarma so this is a great option if you're looking for something different and then from there you'll make your way back to the hostel Hotel Airbnb to conclude the day okay so the third and final day first thing I'd recommend doing is getting up super early and heading over to the Egyptian Museum I know I'm going to recommend a museum I'm not a huge Museum person but I think this one was really really cool to see so you get their first thing to avoid a lot of the crowds and then this is where they have all sorts of different ancient Egyptian artifacts and the Highlight obviously is seeing King Tutankhamun's mask it was so so awesome to see that up close in person I stood there and just took it in for quite a long time actually you're not allowed to take pictures I'll put a picture of it here uh but super awesome so definitely recommend seeing this first thing in the morning it will not disappoint and then from there I took an Uber to go check out the mosque of Muhammad Ali and this was probably one of the highlights of the trip for me uh one of the most famous mosques in all the Middle East uh this place was absolutely beautiful you get an absolutely amazing view of all of Cairo from up there and you can really get a sense for the 20 million total population you just see how dense this place is and then going over to the actual mosque this thing was beautiful so so cool to check out and see all the Traditions here so I'd recommend spending a good chunk of time here it definitely will not disappoint and then from there you can Uber back into Cairo and this is where I'd recommend just doing whatever you think would be best so if you have one of those activities that you really want to do maybe go and do it at this time uh or if you didn't see a part of Islamic Cairo or old Cairo that you didn't get to on day one go and do it here this sort of like a free time where you can kind of do whatever I chose to wander into some of the less touristy areas and I'm telling you this was probably the highlight of the whole trip for me this was a market around the as the Kia Garden area I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right but here it is on a map I don't know the exact name for it whatnot I was just recently told in my video that I made about seeing Cairo that this is a market but there is so much going on here this was absolutely insane to witness the chaos here people everywhere horns honking people yelling it was just an experience I'll never ever forget so so cool to see that in person and then while walking around here you'll have the experience of crossing the streets which is a crazy experience uh it's like a 50 chance of death cars just coming at you but you have to kind of weave your way through and it's a big adrenaline rush but definitely something you'll never forget and then after that it'll be time for dinner I don't have any recommendations for this uh one thing I will say is avoid the places where there are people outside trying to get you to come into their restaurant I feel like that's kind of like my number one rule when picking a place to eat I tend to go for the more authentic kinds of restaurants where they don't have to beg you to come in so just search for that and then after that that will pretty much conclude the trip so hopefully this video gave you guys a pretty good idea of all the things that you can see in this short period of time I know it's a lot of go go go go go but I think it's definitely worth it and it just goes to show that you can see a great chunk of this huge City in that short window now as always if you have any questions at all please drop a comment below and I'll be more than happy to give you advice on what I think is best for you so thanks as always for watching guys hopefully this will inspire you to get on a flight and head to Cairo to experience this awesome City uh definitely will not disappoint and it will be a trip that you will never forget so thanks for tuning in and I'll see you in the next video very soon [Music] good Ness
