[Applause] this [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Oh [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] he will answer a prayer to your prayer [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I know it's alright Salem if you know it's alright [Music] [Applause] come on children [Music] [Applause] turn to someone and say you don't know like I know what the Lord has done for me tell him I get joy when I think about what the Lord has done for me Ghana's been real good to me justified Oh Samantha [Applause] hello everybody Carleton Pearson thanks for tuning in tonight or our second special we're reminding the Saints of the Hope which is something I had an experience in 1977 I had a dream when the late Bishop Charles Harrison Mason Churches of God in Christ came into my bedroom I was on a 21-day fast and he spoke to me all night long said on the edge of my bed the foot of my bed I didn't know him I was only in six I was about seven years old when he transitioned he died in 1961 but I did see him Jackson Memorial which is now the Fountain of Life Church of God in Christ Church I was raised in Bishop je Blake now pastored by his son Bishop JD Blake jr. jr. jr. Augustus Blake one of my closest dearest friends sadi Bishop of the Church of God in Christ Charles Blake that's the younger son of Bishop Jay a and Lula Mae Blake and so I have lots of memories and I remember he said to me remind the Saints of the hope in those days for Bishop Mason to have said that it meant Church of God in Christ people particularly but not exclusively and he there's a lot of our people today who are struggling I was raised in that I'm for generations classical Pentecostal preacher I could is my maternal great-grandfather my paternal grandfather my father myself several of my uncles on both sides of the family so these songs and the ambience in it Zuse and fellowship we should Mason received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1907 the second year of a three-year continuous revival conducted by the late William Seymour they were friends so I mean I could get into all that history but it brings us to where we are now in the 21st century we started in 1988 and did 15 years of Azusa for those of you who have never heard about all that that's a that's the great classical Pentecost revival of America that most of the Pentecostal churches in America find their roots either directly or indirectly traced to that revival reminding the Saints of the hope the word Saint tends to make people think that it's a reference to perfection it means piety it means reverence for the sacred it means actually in the Hebrew word it means to sort of bow your head piously in reverence to respect of God in the New Testament it means to be separated and to be possessed by God the Bible calls us computer people that means possessed or owned by divinity and so but that would be anybody that loves God all souls of mind the soul that sinneth it shall die in Jesus according to Scripture was bruised for our iniquities and his soul was offered as an offering for sin so that includes everybody loved by God redeemed by Christ that song come on children let's sing come on children let's shout come on children let's sing the goodness of the Lord we shouted and say that song that was the opening of that particular Azusa conference and we had these annual recordings and so we're gonna spend the next hour just singing some of those old songs or give you a little history in between we want to minister to you we still want to remind the Saints of the hope whoever you are possessed by God you like this music you feel it there's an anointing on it there's some oil I want it the anointing is the oil of God it's the lubrication of the soul so whatever you going through a tight difficult time as this country is now that oil that anointing is there to lubricate your spirit so you can go through and come out without being scarred you can make it and you're going to make it we're gonna go down to Marvin Winans we took news of conference coast-to-coast we went to Atlanta then we went to Los Angeles we go to the the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit Bishop old Park founded that church his family still in ministering in Atlanta one of my sons the down arrow Park he's now in the expanded consciousness like I am but we're classical Pentecostals Clarice Don PO there see senior ministers and Saints dear friends I might have known since like 77 78 so there's a lot of connection that I'm feeling with them now we're gonna go back to the cathedral and Marvin preaches in the conference that nobody always spontaneously sings wherever he goes so he sings great is thy faithfulness and then Donny is there with Dinah McClurkin comes and joins them and it is a powerful experience remember is this critical pivotal time in human history church history America history God is faithful feeling great is thy faithfulness walk on my father there is no shadow of turning with me now changes [Music] night Compassion's the field and there's the West window forever that's good to know [Music] and in summer and winter springtime and harbor sun moon and stars in their courses join with omega in manifold witness to thy faithfulness no mercy [Applause] ladies great Hey [Music] [Applause] [Music] fathers ever either brother man the thing I like it he's given pardon for all my scene and he's given peace always [Applause] d presence to cheer and tada he gave strength [Music] [Applause] for tomorrow [Music] let's eat with 10,000 piece hi why [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] your precious fan cosgrove either that's my second Oh [Music] [Applause] Hey [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] you're gonna hear me say a lot that we're not in trouble we're in transition the country is the culture is the consciousness is the preacher called me just last week after seeing we had like almost 140,000 people that we reached with these last week we're to keep doing it because it's ministering to people in an old kojic bishop called me and he was crying he could hardly finish the conversation he had to cut it short he was watching remind the Saints of the faith of the hope and hope means happy anticipation of good it's lp's and Greek happy anticipation of good and/or of God do all of this craziness we anticipate ultimate good and ultimate God we win you win we're gonna get through this Marvin just sang about the faithfulness of God last week we concentrated on the clock so sirs this week we're gonna concentrate not exclusively but particularly with the Winans who have just pop one instance heaven mom wine ends with a pop one is actually sings a little let you hear him sing on one of these he's just precious what Andre crowd ceman introduced me to the Winans before I ever met them he said no Carlton these guys are holy I mean they sanctified it no they don't do nothing wrong we sing a song have been saved all day no evils have I done been saved all day no evils have I've done I've been saved all day no evil have I done sanctified and holy no evil never done what I heard that song as a kid I didn't even know for sure what it meant but it sure felt good Andre said these guys are going places he wanted to present them to the world and of course they have touched the world they're personal friends of mine beat me and I wear the same size shoes and he only appeared back now but you're gonna hear him sing a song that he's saying in 1993 Azusa your arms of love I think baby wrote this song they've written so many wonderful songs and really reminds us that God loves us regardless of the circumstances in fact let God love you and you love God through this circumstance fill the cuddling embrace of Holy Spirit and the anointing that comes with that God reaffirming you for who you are as you are in this particular time in your powerful prophetic life sometimes prophetic seems pathetic but let's turn this pathetic situation into something topic and we just [Music] you know the truth I've been taught the way I don't have one right to come tonight and say but lord please just hold me [Music] we meet the pain your arms alone I need once again so if you if you can look past my thoughts and take hold of my hair Handley you just hold me your arms - sure [Music] the pain [Music] you're i kneeled again [Music] he said he will and tonight my savior came yes [Music] but papi understand and tonight here hello [Music] you [Applause] once the OT please his heart his art oh it's it's weird [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] god [Music] just let him hold you in his heart no matter what you've done once the older ladies his arse thunder [Music] the Winans family a very close-knit family they go through so many things together they usually crack jokes and start laughing when they're in a cheerful mood these people have an emotional depth that I've always found fascinating CC BB all the boys mom and pop pumps gonna sing later this night in Azusa Marvin preached of course he brought his brothers with him he brought a portion of the choir from perfecting Church in Detroit he filled up a bus brought them on down himself and we had church that night baby just finished singing one a song he wrote we're gonna have Ron sing this song he wrote it it's called a time of consecration the song of consecration consecration means to separate yourself - this is a special time many of us are spending our times at our homes you know are under house arrest X officially and get some house rest and even with a little restlessness there but separate yourself and consciousness to God and do a lot of deep reflecting thinking why you're here what you believe why you believe it and how those beliefs add to or subtract from the quality of your life nobody can sing it like I whine it so Ron sings a song of the lyric school I want to get it right now I see it's you I need and with your help denying so I put my hand in yours the choir responds oh now I see it's you I need I put my hands and go and they repeat that and the whole room is charged with this energy now I see it's you I need right now in America in the world it's God that we need it God likeness a godliness a transcendent esoteric spirituality it's the only thing that that's what that's going to take us through this crazy ambiguous time that we're going through so enjoy this wonderful song with Ron sing and then BB steps in and takes over towards the end nobody can do it like wine it's there's a sweet anointing on this service letter ministered to you [Applause] [Music] see though [Music] asking question [Music] like I never asked before Oh [Music] to serve him better in the future is the reason of here dog in there son [Applause] I've been taking he to the favor [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'm coming as [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] what my [Music] [Applause] to [Music] understand [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] thank you for your mercy [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] CeCe Winans is the darling of gospel music she hasn't the sweetest most humble pure innocent holy spirit I've known her since the PTL days I met she and Beebe when they were singing for for Jim and Tammy Bakker before but before they even recorded up where we belong we've been friends over the years she sings in Azusa as all the wine is did at one time this particular night was 1996 dimitra's Alexander who established my first recording contracts met her in Los Angeles she's been managing CC for years she's a holy woman spiritual powerful these women have been great over the years now wash them they did two of the most consistent people I know so categorically CC's just by herself and we love her very dearly and she says this wonderful song all her songs are gentle and and and they just sort of looks like somebody pouring warm oil on your body and you're about to be massaged in the Holy Ghost and by it this is wine in this week enjoy [Music] clothes and your will please all alone in the prayers in [Music] you come on you can do better than that praise his name [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] praise the Lord hallelujah thank you Jesus thank you for your presence hallelujah hallelujah God is so good he is so faithful hallelujah thank you Jesus thank you Jesus in the present [Music] thank you Jesus don't you love them today come on [Music] [Applause] for pop Winans age he had more energy and bounce than people 20 years younger than him it is loose so he never was still he enjoyed everybody singing everybody's song everybody quickly or dancing he was involved in everything you seem all over the stage I was so delighted to have him sing this train is a clean train this train I told you earlier that Andre said when he met through the Winans that they were the the holiest sanctified folks he'd ever met he said girl Nami they really holy and I knew it was because of his parents dad was a holy man and a sweet man and a humble man and powerful he couldn't wait to sing and you're gonna see him do his thing and sing this song like Ollie pop wide it's a good thing many you don't know they had bookstores or a gospel music store in Detroit and people would go by there buy records so they've been in music all their lives and they there it's just in their DNA so from from mom-and-pop Winans to all the children and grandchildren it's just on them in them as them expressing itself what do you think of music gospel means you're gonna think of a whining so here's pop wine it's singing this train is a clean train this [Music] [Applause] [Music] displaying to the please train to destroy [Applause] in the Jesus name with a hold it [Music] where you ride to got to be sunny [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] this way is Bound for Glory display [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I caught my Michael [Applause] all the Train [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] my wine is the one [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] there's not a lot of gospel musicians who are known almost exclusively by their first name Carmen I met in 1981 he had just moved to Tulsa we just opened up an office downtown and he came by three days in a row without an appointment wanted to see me he stayed there to the to the to the end of the day and we closed the office and because he didn't have a point man he didn't get to see me the last day I said to my staff each time what's that guy doing here they said pastor he just won't make an appointment but he's been sitting there right reading magazines we had we had gospel magazines and charisma and all that so he just sat there all day long so we we met that afternoon we went to Kentucky Fried Chicken I took him to my apartment and he played a piece of music for me I just loved him instantly he sang so beautifully it was really humble living a little barely furnished apartment and drown a little ugly vegam that grove down those two highways sideways and became this huge phenomenon a creative genius he used to lead the praise and worship on my stage and jinx and a little storefront with a with his guitar but there was a strange anointing on he's very passionate about the things of the Lord he still is so he comes sisters to this particular year and we sang something he had recorded which became a hit he wrote the song I've got the joy leasing I've got the joy joy joy got a my hard to Sunday school kids so he just reversed it and rearranged it and he and I sang it live this is the only time we sang it live I think from the time we recorded right here in Tulsa which became one of the hits on his own I love Carmen very very much his last name is Liam Devil Cara Neto Dominique a little devil they're from Sicily is dead it was Dominic I you know Joss is dead on eulogizes his father his mom lived into her 90s and I remember when she sucked away quietly I couldn't get to the house in time and she made it into heaven but we talked and prayed and with him and his family and we've been dear friends we traveled all over the Europe to to Jerusalem to Hawaii car Mo's my buddy still is but you're gonna enjoy this me and him doing this the first time we had done it and the only first time other than the original recording that we shot it and we had fun that night if there's one thing the scripture says it's with joy that we draw water from the wells of salvation and we this right now there's a lot of thirst there's a lot of a lot of dehydration in the culture people who are dry and they want to moisturize their soul this song will help you with a little moisture Carmen Beebe and I were friends for years so he fits in with the wines and families because they were closed and we're all closed and now you're close you get to see us sing this song hearing and feeling Carmen me you got joy [Music] [Applause] [Music] come on guys you gotta help me out with this song let me hear someone say I got an itch [Music] come on gather round help me make a joke for Sam [Music] that the girls and jovem know [Music] jewelry [Music] [Music] I got the joy in me me let me get this you're loading your [Music] 1972 we should do it like it [Music] how many remember that song [Music] tonight we're gonna dancing are we gonna shine [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Victorine tonight [Music] got the Jo and me [Music] [Music] enjoy when I think of that you don't think what he's done for me oh I get y'all and I think about what he's done for me you don't know like I know riddle know nothing excuse me folks I'm not trying to be hip drop them brother I'm on cutting myself tensile [Music] judge [Music] loulou's us tonight [Music] I got the Joey and me [Music] I got the job Holly I got the joy and me one of the great regrets I have in all the recording of Zeus's that we we didn't get to have Vestal Goodman [Music] I loved her too the day she died a lover now it's always friendly toward her I got to be with her sometimes with Bill Gaither when they'd come to town I'd always go down and go backstage and hang out I loved her and loved the way she thought the way she sang now I sometimes go sit and listen to her and I couldn't get her best thing closest thing to her was Mickey Mangum I know the Pentecostals in the Alexander Louisiana I've visited there visited her husband to church I wanted them to and they were going to consider driving up to Hendersonville when I was preaching a TB in in in Nashville just outside of Nashville and bring their choir and sing we didn't get to do that but she agreed to come and sing the song that I dedicated to my grandma my wife's grandmother we called her mommy peace in the valley and that sweet woman sang it she just we didn't get very many times to rehearse it she just came in very humble very sweet very powerful we sing this song and it blessed millions of people in this country and at this time we're in a valley we're at a juncture in our culture in our consciousness in our country everybody seems to be in that dark place but you know the flowers are not on the top of the hill they're down in the valley the streams and there are weeds and they're vermin and there there there there are vipers in the valley but there's peace there passes all understanding let the song dress your Mickey mang and my singing in Azusa let there be peace in this valley [Music] but morning yes [Music] we're singing choir there shall be peace [Music] [Music] [Applause] yes [Music] this is where you coming no headaches or heartache [Music] no misunderstands no confusion Oh trouble will be yes like this no friends to d5 just a big smile [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I've been listening to car a spark play the keyboard for 30 years I cry when I hear play I call her the queen of gospel worshipful pageantry she's the one that came out with before anybody that I know her back in the the ad she came out with streamers and banners and Jessica Park was a progressive thinker so if you ever went into the cathedral you'd see all this and she personally designed and created these things herself and got some some criticism and and persecution because people were dancing in in church she's from a Cosmo Pentecostal background like like I am Bishop John Muir's told me about her 40 years ago before I ever met her and now I'm part of their family so for her to play this song spontaneously without any rehearsal with the Richard Smallwood in the cathedral that they built the only Cathedral in on the North American continent built by Pentecostals that's what they have there it's now pastored by edewin Smith who bought it from the parks ministry but that's a sacred space for us and you're gonna see them on that vast stage just the two of them Rick the Richards Norwood and the Clarice Park playing totally unrehearsed but the whole ecosystem of oil on the piano you really [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] many people thousands of warned to know how they could support they wanted to send a donation and we're not pushing that but we're encouraging it so the addresses are on the screen no gift is too large don't give this to small 510 if everybody just sent $10 that would really help us we're expanding this we want to keep this going on and kind of pay the producers with director same person brilliant genius he's doing he has never asked for anything and we don't even give him anything but from now on because I want to have him doing this weekly right here in the house we're going to do outreaches and do things in different parts of the country different parts of the world but I object our objective is to minister to you peace in the valley your Valley remind the Saints that the hope that's what we're calling this whole series we have so much to share with you if you liked it let me know say something send something it will be a great blessing to us this is just an offering and God will honor it though scene is too small and no no scene is too large whatever you send whatever you're led to sin God will bless you and we're gonna close tonight with again one of my dearest friends in the whole world and I love like I love my home soul John pinky scripture says there has no temptation or trial taking you at that which is common to man God is faithful he will with the temptation provide a way to escape John Deacon wrote a song titled I made it out alright and my son Julian traveled with him on the road and actually did the video work as a videographer for this song taped in different settings different churches it is powerful it's a big hit and we wanted to close the program tonight reminding you that you will not just make it out but you will make it out alright we will make it out alright our best is yet to come regardless of how pathetic and how painful and how passionate you feel right we're coming through this by the power of God in us expressing itself as us to through us in the earth the best is yet to come there the the blessing of the Lord maketh rich and add there's no sorrow the one and only John P key I made it out we'll make it out alright see you next week [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music]
