The Most Underrated Way to Fly to Europe (JetBlue Mint Class)

good morning from the Nashville Airport today we are flying JetBlue mint class across the Atlantic JetBlue is a bit of a confusing Airline because I would say most people picture JetBlue as a Budget Airline and in a lot of cases you wouldn't be wrong most of the economy routes don't feature any type of business class and I would say it's on par with what you would expect from Southwest friendly service a fair price and nowhere else but on a few select routes both domestically and abroad they offer mint class which is their version of business class and even though in most cases JetBlue is a Budget Airline their mint class actually got voted the best domestic business class last year we had the opportunity to fly in mid-class traveling from San Francisco to LA and I have to say we were super impressed so today we are super excited to be flying the new mint Suites across the Atlantic as we travel from Boston to London so we'll give you a full review of those and of course because this is daily drop we're going to show you how you can book these using miles and points but even if you don't have any miles and points you still probably want to watch this video because mint class is a bit of a hidden secret most of the time this is one of the cheapest ways to fly across the Atlantic while still laying flat but before we get into any of this we have to get ourselves to New York foreign [Music] international business class on American United or Delta our business class first would follow us through this entire day we'd have access to all the priority lines we'd have lounge access and even on the short flight to New York we'd at least be sitting in the bigger recliners up front with JetBlue today we don't get any of those perks flying to New York we'll be sitting in the back in economy because on JetBlue your mint privileges don't kick in until you're about to board your mint flight I don't say any of this to complain but just to point out the difference between met and the normal international business class that you might be used to hopefully no one sits here good luck with that while we didn't get any special perks on board I have no complaints about the fight to Boston JetBlue apparently offers free Wi-Fi on all their flights there were TVs on a domestic flight and coffee and Cheez-Its were included honestly the only thing that could have made this flight better is that the middle seat would have stayed empty welcome to Boston where the local time is currently 4 31 PM two hours later we made it to Boston so technically we don't have lounge access at least not because we're flying JetBlue mint but we do have the American Express Platinum Card which gives us free priority pass membership which gets us access to this latch I wasn't planning on going on this little rant but I've heard quite a few people complaining about this recently and it's now having to take care and I twice in the last month so this is a priority pass it gives you access to over a thousand lounges around the world and we've been using this for the last seven years and I've always loved it but twice in the last month I've showed it to a lounge and they told me that it was too busy and then I had to get on a wait list in this case they said that would be over 30 minutes we only have a short layover here Boston so we won't be going to the lounge surely you can't be serious I guess that is the double-edged sword of making these super easy to get just by signing up for a credit card so first I'd like to know if you have a priority pass do you feel like this is becoming a problem more recently or am I just getting unlucky and then second I guess it's just setting expectations if you have gotten new credit card and you have this new shiny priority pass and you're really excited about going to a lounge maybe just set your expectations with your wild success you might have to wait a little while or it might be so busy that you just don't get lounge access no God please please no I am devastated right now by the time you're watching this video the first ever Chase Sapphire Lounge will be open and if you have the reserve card you can get in there for free and we are three days early but this is where things start to get fun [Music] and this is home sweet home for the next seven hours okay so really quick before we see the rest of this amazing Jet Blue Mint seat I want to show you how you can book this using miles and points because after all this is daily drop first of all you can now book JetBlue flights directly through a majority of your favorite credit card travel sites all you do is enter your flight details and depending on your routes and your dates you may see JetBlue flights pop up including these mint seats now like Nate said earlier in the video JetBlue offers their mint class seating for a few domestic flights in the US and several International routes but as you can see you're only getting one cent per Point using this strategy which I calculated by taking the out of pocket price which is 1263 dollars for this flight from LAX to JFK and I divided that number by the number of points needed to book that flight with points which is 126 290 points and that shows us that we're getting one cent of value per point which is not great so the better option is to transfer your credit card reward points to JetBlue's loyalty program which is called true blue now different credit card providers offer different Transfer Partners so we actually made a Transfer Partners cheat sheet that you can use which makes this really easy for example as you can see Chase American Express and City all transfer to JetBlue we also have an awesome article called our go-to guide to credit card Transfer Partners which I'll link to down below and on there you can also find a link to the Transfer Partners cheat sheet that I just showed you but for this example we'll head over to the chase websites and navigate to the transfer to travel Partners menu and about halfway down you'll see JetBlue's true blue loyalty program and from here you just transfer your Chase Ultimate reward points in this case to your JetBlue loyalty accounts which you can open for completely free and you'll then be able to book lights using True Blue Points which if we find the exact same flight from earlier it is now just 116 000 points instead let's get back to that dreamy JetBlue men's seat with Kara and Nate this was my first time ever sitting in a seat that faced the aisle and honestly there is nothing more Awkward than sitting there getting stared at by every passenger who boarded the plane behind me all right I'm all settled into my seat got my welcome champagne this is going to be an amazing seven hours so we just heard from the pilot and we're gonna be sitting here on the runway for 30 minutes so let me give you a little tour around the seat we've got all the controls that you need to lay your seat flat we've got a lamp headphones of course a menu and a cocktail menu look at this menu I don't know how to describe it it's like it's modern I feel like all the other airlines are kind of stuck in the past like doing things the way they've always been done boom roasted but this is fun there's not one but two plugs there's a second one down by the seat came with water I usually hate these flip out screens but this one's really nice and then of course there's a remote to control the TV when you first turn on the TV and it's asking you what language you prefer instead of putting English or Spanish it says hey what's up or hola like just little details like that it's like they're really Paving their own way they're being very unique and different and I love it and while it doesn't come with Pajamas down here on the right side of the seat they do provide you with slippers and a nice little basket to put your shoes in also JetBlue partnered with tuft and needle to make these seats which I figured was a bit of a marketing gimmick but these are actually super comfortable and it doesn't work right now but once we get in the air there is a full closing door this is so underrated like not only is the hard product amazing like this is absolutely beautiful and so comfortable I have a ton of space tons of storage which is my favorite thing overall this new seat is a big upgrade from the old version but I would say there are two drawbacks in the old note Suites the configuration was two one two one and if you could score one of the throne seeds and you actually had way more space in that seat than you have in these new Suites the other drawback while these seats are definitely more comfortable they don't have the massagers in the back so you can't get a massage I just pressed the massage button [Music] the minute it gets this is my favorite part of flying business class oh it looks like there's a lot of stuff in here a deodorant of White Aluminum free I think this might be a first electrolytes seriously brilliant this is another first Jet Blue oh my gosh sunscreen SPF 30. once again this is first aloe which came from Nicaragua and it's still a little burnt fantastic oh that's so good vanilla Tangerine with shea butter more sauce on arrival into uh heat Pro it's gonna be overcast guys [Music] hi Nathan welcome to mints such a nice touch how did it know [Music] S no I'm doing the gelato for sure this looks amazing we'll see how it tastes [Music] thank you [Music] foreign we have warm bread and butter bread butter I think that's dessert this salad looks divine here we have a bowl of quinoa with cherry tomatoes and whatever these things are quinoa is amazing and last but not least we have falafel okay with this cute little bowl of toppings sea salt chili oil how cute this is olive oil oh an empty [Music] the worst part about this flight or any flight from the east coast to Western Europe is to just how short the flight is because by the time you eat dinner you watch a movie Flight only has three hours and 21 minutes left so best case scenario I'll force myself to go to sleep right now and I get three hours of sleep before we land I don't think there's any worse jet lag than flying six to seven hours East around the world but I'm gonna do my best to get a couple hours of sleep because this bed is incredible country okay so the bathroom is a tiny bit small however I really enjoy how they attempted to make it look like subway tile in here and they also make up for it with the automation let me show you when you press the blush button the lid automatically closes the sink is automatic and the trash can is automatic I love these things I'll make it two hours of sleep tonight tomorrow's gonna be a long day I can starting your night story back there girls hack bags are genius thought this was a good idea last night I think it's an even better idea this morning we made it everybody's think it's 12 38. next time I fly across the Atlantic
