Our Highest Rated Business Class Yet?! | Virgin Atlantic Upper Class

today we are spending 7 hours in Virgin Atlantic upper class as we fly from Atlanta to London we have heard that this is one of the best business class experiences flying across the Atlantic so expectations are high and here at Daily drop we rate all of our flights based on 10 different factors with each flight having the ability to earn up to 100 points I'm guessing Virgin Atlantic is going to score between 85 and 90 which would be the highest score that we've ever given a business class flight stick around to see if it lives up to the hype [Music] I love what they call it check in unpressed it was fast it was efficient not super friendly and she threw my bag gave it a nice new Dent sorry I'm feeling spicy today I think I got my just flicked this off or waved I'm not sure maybe an instant replay wait bring his face up theoretically was a priority line to go through security for business class passengers however it wasn't open and it just took you on this long adventure and then put you back in the normal line could have walked from right there instead we went that way it was fine I just wasn't impressed I'd give it like a six like literally nothing special be hard for Virgin to score a 85 if you already deduct at Four Points so Virgin Atlantic calls their lounges clubhouses seeing a theme Here here they don't like to call Things by their normal name like instead of business class it's upper class or lounges or clubhouses but anyway there is not one of those here in Atlanta so instead we get access to the Delta Lounge Sky [Music] Club this is so cool I love Delta good thing we're making a Virgin Atlantic video the lounge experience is automatically getting a 10 out of 10 because where else can you zip champagne sit outside and look over a Runway he and I saw pretzel bites at the B 11 out of 10 okay o that slate number one we're starting out with snacks and all the cold things everything looks awesome however it's paper plates with plastic coloring that's going to cost them you have more to complain about no I'm going to justy something about this rating system just gives Cara the sense of empowerment and I think she feels like she needs to take way points listen you have no idea what you're talking about seriously I said this before any day that you're magically flying through the air to another foreign destination especially in upper class is a great day and I'm very thankful but somebody's got to do the hard work of raiding these different airlines it's fun to have the excuse to be critical Because deep down I'm not I'm not critical at all about anything same way you give the airlines a hard time I give you so as I made my way to the gate I wanted to quickly explain how we booked this flight using miles and points because on the one hand we got an amazing deal and on the other hand we paid quite a bit of cash out of pocket but it wasn't near as much as we would have paid had we paid full price for the flight so normally if you were using points to book Virgin Atlantic upper class it would have cost us 990,000 points for both of us to fly between Atlanta and London however Chase was offering a 30% transfer bonus so we only ended up having to transfer 37,000 chase points p to Virgin Atlantic in order to book this fight the taxes and fees on both of our tickets came to almost $2,000 which sounds crazy expensive but the cash price for both these tickets would have been over $113,000 so when you look at it that way still a pretty good deal and I'm not going to complain about paying $1,000 to be able to lay flat as we go across the Atlantic that is the beautiful a350 that is going to be taking us to London everyone please have your [Music] passport First Impressions I am loving this flight already all the flight attendants have a British accent so I was gred with a lovely VOD they were playing Beyonce there are these beautiful pink lights like kind of smells like Cracker Barrel it's a good thing everything looks really shiny welcome champagne all right I familiarized myself with the seat the initial excitement has calmed down a little bit the design of this seat is so unique but it's also sleek and beautiful this is the tray table there's a golden button it comes down so smoothly and it slides over like a shiny silver coating so much space the foot wheel feels a bit small I do not have big feet and my shoes barely fit in I feel pretty good about it it's like my tray is here so I can be like eating and watching TV at the same time and have my legs popped up and still have all the space and then the T I've never seen this before you press another gold shiny button ooh that's Sleek I like that actually most TVs just flip out and it's really dramatic and this one just smoothly Glides in and out of its resting place it's sleep and it's big and it's cloes big fan I'm in love with the design of the seat just overall like the Privacy is 10 of 10 I'm facing the aisle so if I didn't know my neighbor like we're literally facing opposite ways even though we're right next to each other plus it was privacy screen so I'm propping my feet up this way watching TV the people in the aisle across from me are facing that way you never have to see anyone even though you're right next to each other and maybe there's a door if you can figure out how to use it it's not the biggest seat I've ever been in but it's extremely welld designed extremely private and feels so luxurious so does that mean if Air New Zealand is the Prius of the air vir Atlantic is the Ferraris like what's between a Prius and a Ferrari maybe like a BMW it's the Beamer of the Skies I do love the neatness of the seat I've never seen a trade table that works like this never seen a TV that flips out like this and I love the white and also the red makes it feel like a sports car plus the seat is leather like even the seat belt thingy is leather also the lighting is on point I'm a big light guy I feel like it's come from staring through a camera lens for the past 8 years but good light really makes me happy it's really just this one under light under the cabinet but it just really takes a seat from your next all right we're still sitting at the gate so I'm going to do a quick amenity kit review Once Again eco-friendly bag Prett style we have the classic semi- useless socks but great for the vibe I personally love getting socks that I can throw away on airpls it feels very wasteful but if they were nice you wouldn't throw them away you would just keep them I like walk around the airplane at them anyway this eye mask is Silky oh yes silk on the outside velvet on the inside ooh bamboo brush 100% biodegradable whitening toothpaste face moisturiz it's amazing R brand clean with minerals okay this is shaping up to be my best am ever for the record I keep all of the amenities in all of my amen kids a p give it a 9 out of 10 well make it a 10 a hair brush or some perfume just something a little like extra it's [Music] happening this tail cam is almost as good as having a window seat I really thought it was going to be dark as we were taking off so I'm so excited to get to watch take off before Sun W epic meal service has begun first they brought out an appetizer of petal chips and they were literally the salest chips I've ever had salt is my love language then they brought out this cute little place mat the most beautiful color set with this gold thing check out the bread plate and it just feels like it was made for this setting I love a bamboo bread plate in a Ferrari I got the pretzel bread and it came with a huge side of butter and of course as soon as she set down my salt and pepper shakers just had to say something they're itty bitty airplane engines with feet after I complimented them she said the bottom says pinched from Virgin Atlantic they want you to take them home look how cute they are those are without a doubt the best salt and pepper shakers of any F have ever been on 100% and we've had a lot of cute ones these are the cutest I decided to pair my dinner with it Australian sh shz shiras we got beetroot tartar as our starter I've never had yellow beetroot before kind of looks like sweet potato I just like beets people love beets nobody likes beets really nice with all of the toppings it's healthy it's beautifully play this is great this is kind of amazing okay here's one interesting thing I just noticed something's missing there's no remote you don't need one because is guess you're right I'm a fan I think we can get rid of the weird remotes that are on the for the main course your options are grilled barbecue chicken Lobster clam and calamari paa full cheese agol pasta however we pre-ordered the vegan meal of Ty cre and it looks so good we have a spicy sauce with noodles and so many veget wow very spicy very happy with my choice I feel like normally airplan meals are like toned down so that everyone on the fight can enjoy them this is hot like my nose is sweating a little bit I don't even need my cute salt pepper shakers I found the remote no you can control your screen with your phone I'm not sure I love that the only reason this is necessary is what if you're lying flat you're completely relaxed and you want to change the movie or you want to turn it up you have to sit all the way up BR your life flat position to turn it off and then go all the way right now for dessert sorry for dessert fake got the cheese plate I got the chocolate moves and off is on fire so I'm hoping it's cold and refreshing I'm jealous of him being honest 10 out of 10 swap quick bathroom tour it's very nice it's a little small but they've done a great job with the space just like the seats there's a window in here which I always love it's very clean smells nice which is always important in a bathroom I love the little circle lights on the mirror really adds to the vibe the sink is nice and big so it doesn't splatter on your clothes they have a fancy soap and moisturizer and antimicrobial surface spray that kills up to 99.999% in a ger you feel like doing a little cleaning oh my gosh I even have an air freshener no wonder it smells good in here CH approved blusher okay our flight attendant offered to make my bed for me but for some reason I just feel guilty pushing the call but thought I'd try to do it myself looks like we have little mattress pad excuse me I got it yeah thank you so much wor I got this so we've got a mattress pad that is it adds like a/4 inch of padding to the leather seat see what else we got going on in here ooh okay so I think it's just a duvet pillow the case and the duvet oh I love it wow looks great feels even more comfortable because I made it myself oh bad so don't do it we just spit the last 7 hours in the arrival Lounge before we can check into our room room more like the Survival loue by saw Miracle we are both still awake but not for long we have to St up we got to rate this flight check in let's give it a six I mean we got our ticket vac check it was definitely the least exciting part of the entire [Music] experience Lounge 10 we gave it a 10 I think we got to stick with it so many vegetable options cookies the coffee coffee was really good welcome champagne outside deck outside deck outside deck overlooking the runway where you could drink champagne and smell jet fuel at the same time I would not have expected us to give Delta Sky Club a death yeah I'm a little embarrassed we should have high standards but it was that good seat not bed just seat seat I think it gets a n out of 10 nine that's what I was thinking it felt like a sports car yeah it was really nice nice privacy I love the uniqueness of it love the white N Out 10 bed I'm between like a seven and eight that's exactly what I was thinking the bedding was fine the bed wasn't actually all the way flat I don't think they would consider that angled lay flat but it did just have like a 10% incline yeah it Go and it was kind of skinny like I found my arm falling off the side of it seven let's go seven seven food I loved the food I think N9 out of 10 yeah I mean I don't know what 10 out of 10 would be but I'm just leaving a little room for something incredible Curry was amazing I got to keep the salt and pepper shakers should we bump it up to a t cuz you get to keep bread i' give her a 10 okay drinks H I didn't love the red wine all right I feel the same nine amenity kit nine nine staff 10 10 out of 10 I loved the flight attendance so nice not like over the top in your face they were just the right amount of attentive I felt very seen and taken care of sometimes they can kind of overdo it and they were really nice they were so nice by the time I was thinking I wanted something or like I wanted to refill and a drink they were there they were mind Raiders for sure bathroom um I give it an eight I was think like a seven I mean it just wasn't special well they had special soap moisturizer there was spray and the other one they had pretty lights on the mirror entertainment I honestly didn't use much of it but I did like that I could use my phone as a remote that was kind of fun I would like to give it higher than an eight best touchscreen TV I've ever had a good TV here's going to be my new rule if someone is paying thousands of dollars for a business class ticket Wi-Fi should be included there are Airlines now that are giving free Wi-Fi to everyone on the plane every Airline should be offering business class passengers free Wi-Fi and if you don't do that automatic has them uh phone for the calculator for the total we'll see I think it might be low the five at check in really hurt oh wow droll [Music] please that is the highest score that we've ever given an airline they deserve it I will say Virgin Atlantic I had high expectations for and they were exceed it I'm a huge fan and we forgot to go to the lou area in the back of the plane little couch area I'm so mad our house good job Virg now we just have a reason to fly again and it's great use of points yes high taxes and fees I feel like we got to add the arrivals Lounge in there somewhere so what category does this go yeah we don't have a category for that I don't that's probably Lounge it already had a 10 so moving forward if we fly with someone who doesn't have an arrival Lounge does it deduct points we'll figure this out between ourselves and we'll see you in the next one oh do you have a hand sanitizer ew you just been touching all your veggies with your unsanitized hand yeah I was excited about the peppers this is the key to beating jetl got to stay up the first day you can't nap stay away come on
