The Human Drum Machine: El Estepario Siberiano

those of you that have been watching my channel for a while know that I like to highlight a lot of new young players on different instruments this particular player is a drummer I've made many drum videos on this channel some of my biggest videos are drum videos I've interviewed some of the greatest drummers of all time from Greg Binet to Vinnie Cuda to Bernard pery to Steve Gad but this particular drummer happens to be a YouTuber and having said that you already know who I'm going to say he's a drummer from Spain and his name is El estario saano he is insane I refer to him as the human drum machine if you haven't heard of him he's got about 3.4 million subscribers on YouTube let me play you this short which has over 50 million views check this [Music] out single handed [Music] roll [Music] woo woo one snap one the that song was of course Natural Born Killer By Avenge Sevenfold that is really insane those single-handed rolls the double kick things the fills incredible but really to me the thing that stands out even more is his unbelievably great Showmanship the stick flips that come right back in on time smoking doing the machine gun thing he is an just amazing Entertainer in these 30 second videos it really tells the whole story and they're exciting to watch and I know that people share them let me play another video here check this one out a few minutes [Music] later love the Cowell [Music] God we back again amazing brother sisters everybody say going to bring your FL show you and here comes the Phil love it [Music] woo everything about that video is great the performance the way he builds it the fills he's playing the stick flips how he interacts with the audience looking at the camera and then his really cool logo that he has at the end the thing that really turned me on to his channel was a video he made about N9 months ago for his million subscriber episode that he says uh it's called My Story and it's really a compelling video and I would recommend it to you to check out those of you that have watched his videos but haven't seen this particular it's more of a long form video talks about his upbringing and starting drums at 12 years of age and how he used to practice all the time and how he was a great student an A+ student uh in school and how he went to college now he went went to college as a um sociology and political science major I believe for the first two years of college he was getting all A's great student and then he started playing gigs with a friend of his to make extra money and during that time of beginning of his third year they changed the law in Spain and you had to attend 80% of the classes otherwise you failed well he ended up failing out of college even though could pass the test without going to class he flunked out and he became very depressed let me play a little clip from that video by the time I was 23 years old I didn't have any kind of studies I don't know anything about music I cannot read or write I cannot do anything like that so basically I lost everything and that's officially when depression kicked in I felt like everything was a huge piece of [ __ ] and life got bad to be real I lost my Pur I was forcing me to play 8 hours a day I kept practicing because that's what determination does but I was not inspired I didn't want to do anything I was depressed as [ __ ] because music had failed me and all my grades and all my studies failed me as well so I was just like [ __ ] hopeless and I didn't know what I was going to do and what's worse I didn't want to do anything else I was totally lost I didn't have a reason to wake up in the morning all that negativity actually ENT inside of my body now when I started feeling like I had lost my will to live or however you want to call that I thought to myself what a waste of time it would have been if I didn't record everything that I know how to do with my drums I need to at least leave behind proof of everything that I have achieved with this I just have incredible respect for somebody that's willing to get on camera and bear their soul and tell you about these things his depression issues I just have tremendous respect he did it with no shame and just telling people kind of what he had been going through I've never met him love to have him on the channel sometime but I really really have enjoyed his videos for a long time I'd love to know what you guys think if you already know his drumming or if you're seeing him for the first time love to know your thoughts and don't forget to hit the Subscribe button thanks so much for watching watching
