To the people who discount, ignore, down-play, scoff at this person's testimony, (I'm not sure what's funny about sexual harassment). I'll have to ask you to stay off of any jury selection process in the future. Part of understanding testimony is not only provable facts, but also empathy. This woman has no jackpot lawsuit in the works, her story will never be profitable in any major media, she didn't identify herself, therefore she has nothing to gain but simply to tell her story and warn others.

For the people who have only distractions and are digging for something negative, YouTube is a competitive place for attention, they had to so something unusual to get a click. The mask, format, music etc are comments for those with little to no listening comprehension skills. As the saying goes, "Small minds focus on small things." Her story is actually pretty tame compared to what I've read in other places.

At least 5 foreign embassies have issued employment warnings for South Korea. There are even worse testimonials at Toyko Jon's, YouTube, blogs, on facebook, twitter, ESLwatch, a list of schools posted on this site, you can also find more on Dave's ESL Cafe comment section, Glassdoor, Waygook.org. It's becoming more obvious as time goes on, those who still think Hagwons deserve the benefit of the doubt are in the cruel minority.

Thanks for sharing the video here. I also shared this on the other teaching subreddit this morning. I knew the mods would shit all over the video, downvote and brigade me but I did it anyways. There's thousands of members there, so perhaps the testimony in the video can help at least a few prospective teachers make an informed decision about their ESL teaching career.

Sure enough, my post immediately turned into a cesspoll of negatively and accusations that the testimony in the video is exaggerated and not factual. One of the mods even started harping on about how data invalidates negative testimonials and experiences. I called them out for their hypocrisy and received over 50 downvotes. I'll wear those downvotes as a badge of honor.

As always, thank you for providing a more civil, informative, welcoming and factual alternative to the other subreddit. It's gotten to the point where a large news site like Vice has reported on the exploitive nature of the hagwon industrial complex. We can't let their warning go unheard.
