our god is greater come on and our god is stronger god you are higher than any other and i call this healer he's awesome in power i got water you turned into white water you turned into white open the eyes of the blight there's no one like you [Music] none like you into the darkness and into the darkness you shine out of the ashes out of the ashes we rise there's no one like you he's a mighty god none like you i call this crater and our god is greater and our god is stronger god you are higher than any other and our god is healer he's awesome in power our god if our god is for us sing it to him and if our god is for us what could ever stop us and if our god is with us what could stand the kids would could stand against i caught a squid up and i caught us greater and i caught us stronger because you are higher than any other and i call this healer he's awesome in power i got i got his greater singing and our god is greater and i got us stronger god you are higher than any other and our god is healer he's awesome in power our god if our god and if our god is for us what could ever stop us and if our god is with us father god in the name of jesus me and pastor amy cover your wonderful people in the blood of the lord jesus christ father god as we go into the word of god on this morning take your people deeper into the word of god we rebuke the spirit of fear and timidity fear and intimidation we rebuke it for god has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of loving of a sound mind lord your word says the righteous are as bold as a lion speak to your people this morning minister to them make it so simple that a child can understand what the holy ghost is saying in jesus name we pray someone say amen oh glory to god is it not gone just absolutely awesome so we continue in our series the holy spirit at work in you and on this morning we are talking about the holy spirit in the life of gideon and i just i love i i love studying the life of gideon because when you study the life of gideon you begin to see in plain terms that gideon was just an ordinary man just just like the rest of us made out of flesh and blood but you got to understand as we dig deeper into this you will see it was the holy spirit that made all the difference in the world and the life of gideon and the reason why i endeavor to take my time and help you to grasp this particular teaching on the work of the holy spirit is because when you begin to understand that these men were just just like they were ordinary men flesh and blood just like you and i when you realize what the holy spirit can accomplish through a vessel that's willing to say here my lord send me it builds up your confidence not in yourself but in the ability of the holy ghost i'd work in and through you are you listening to me because now you can see that these men weren't some superhero weren't some superstars they did not accomplish this without the holy ghost this levels the playing field because the same holy spirit who worked in moses joshua elijah elisha jesus paul of course christ he's out there by himself he's the savior the messiah come on somebody he was the ultimate sacrifice but when you see that it was the holy spirit through the apostle paul peter everyone else you realize he can do the same through me even through christ he didn't use his power as as god he worked those miracles through the power of the holy spirit you and i have we have the same access that jesus had to the holy spirit into the power of the holy ghost it levels the play and fear when you begin to see it in that light then you begin to realize the possibilities are endless and it takes all of your excuses away i want to point some things out about gideon first gideon was a timid man he was timid he was fearful he was actually a coward gideon had extremely low self-esteem he struggled believing that god could use him but all of that was about to change and i believe i'm talking to some of you this morning because i struggled with it when god first started to call i thought to myself dear god i don't believe god can use me like like when i read these about these men and women in the bible but as i begin to grow in my walk with god i begin to realize it wasn't something by himself that ripped that line open it was the power of the holy ghost that came on samson samson took the jawbone of a donkey and killed a thousand armed soldiers philistines armed with shields swords and spares a thousand men now if it was one or two we would say oh he lucked out but a thousand men and all you got is the jawbone of a dead donkey give me a break that's the power of the holy ghost are you listening to me i said it's the power of the holy ghost wow i want to talk about gideon first we look at the call of god on gideon judges chapter 6 verse 11 through 16. and there came an angel of the lord and sat under an oak tree which was an offer that pertained under josh to abby is right and his son gideon thresh wheat by the wine press to hide it from the midianites he was hiding because the midianites would come and steal up all their harvest and the angel of the lord appeared unto him and said unto him the lord is with thee thou mighty man of valor gideon was looking around thought i wonder who's one who who who he's talking to can't be talking to me this is how this is how much low self-esteem is gideon was looking around thinking i know you ain't talking to me because i'm in hiding i've i'm a chicken i'm worse than chicken little come on somebody now now watch this and gideon said unto him oh my lord if the lord be with us why then is all this befall in us now when you read from verses 1 you realize god gave israel over to the midianites because israel sinned in the camp when sin come in the camp the devil is going to pulverize you he's going to damage you he's going to rule over you become enslaved are you listening to me but then the children of israel begin to cry out to the lord now once you begin to cry out to him ah the holy ghost is on his way glory to god now watch this gideon said why then has all this befallen us and where be all his miracles that our fathers told us of did not the lord bring us up from egypt but now the lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the medianites he was right god did it because of sin but now god is responding to the cry of his people and he wants to raise gideon to bring them out and deliver them and the lord looked upon him and said go in this dynamite and thou shall save israel from the hand of the midianites have not i said thee and he said unto him oh my lord where which shall i save israel behold my family is poor he has the excuses this to excuse some of you are making listen to what he said how in the world am i going to save israel my family is poor in manasseh and i am the least in my father's house we are nobodies we don't have any divine connections like that we don't have no kind of connections like that we just the ordinary paul broke family some of you been making those excuses god i don't have the money i don't have the education god didn't ask none of those things he said i call you and i'm sending you god qualifies the call are you listening to me when god calls you he equips you and he qualifies you to get the job done how does he qualify you by placing the holy ghost in your life are you hearing me watch this i want you to see this because this was i want you to see gideon's turning point now between verses 16 and verse 34 gideon is what you call putting out a fleece and we have no rights to fleece god in this generation because we are supposed to be led by the holy ghost in us the holy ghost didn't even come on gideon yet are you listening to me so gideon said let me put this thing out let me put out this uh let me put this wool out there i'll put this piece of material out there and when i wake up tomorrow only allow the wool to be wet and the rest of the ground to be dry and then i'll know then i'll know that you you really are talking to me and it happened but that wasn't good enough for gideon you see gideon said man i got to fleece you again this time let the rest of the ground be wet and let the piece of cloth be dry that's on the ground and then i'll know that this is you talking so he was fleecing god and i mean you we have no rights to fleece god in the new testament why because the holy spirit lives in us jesus said he will guide us into all truth he guides us through his word come on somebody there's people putting the fleece i i remember ken and hagin one of my favorite teachers of the word of god kenneth hagin said he decided at one time that he was going to fleece god he said i put out a fleece and i got fleeced he ended up about the will of god why because the devil deceived him are you hearing me he got voted in to be a pastor and only one person voted against him and he took the password of this church that god didn't call him to be the pastor of and he had to repent later on and get out of there we all made those kinds of mistakes reverend kenneth reverend kenneth hagin lord have mercy and so we have no rights to put those kind of things out there oh i heard a voice you heard a voice does it line up with scripture how do you know that's god you don't even know your bible you're talking about some voice talking to you oh come on give me a break are you hearing me and then someone prophesied that and then it and you just jump up and did it whatever they prophesy you better take that prophecy and scrutinize it i don't care who prophesied and make sure the thing lines up with scripture come on somebody anyways let me leave that alone verse 34 this was gideon's turning point but the spirit of the lord came upon gideon and he blew a trumpet and abiazza was gathered under he gathered all i mean gideon gathered over 37 000 men that's a man who was assuming the leadership and the position that god called him to and when he stepped into that position the holy ghost anointed him to fulfill that role you cannot do it without the holy ghost without the holy ghost you're just mere flesh and blood that's why david cried cast me not away from your presence take not your holy spirit from me david saw what happened to king saul when god took the holy ghost away from king saul because of sin saul became an ordinary man an ordinary man he became a loser afterwards david knew the secret to success was the power of the holy spirit at work in and through the vessel are you listening to me but now the holy ghost came on gideon then i want to take you now over to judges chapter 7 verse 13 13-15 and when gideon was come behold there was a man that told the dream god sent him into the enemy's camp say i want you to go into the enemy's camp and when you hear what you're about to hear you're going to be encouraged so he snuck him in his servant snuck late at night by their enemies kept and gideon stood on the outside of one of their tents and listened to what gideon heard and when gideon was come behold there was a man that told the dream unto his fellow and said behold i dreamed the dream and lower cake of bali bread tumbled into the host of median and came unto a tent and smoted that it fell and overturned it that the tent just lay along beyond recovery and his fellow answer this is an enemy camp and his fellow accident said this is nothing else save the sword of gideon the son of josh a man of israel for into his hand has god delivered median and all the hosts this is the media nights date the holy ghost allowed him to have the dream and he even gave them the interpretation of the dream only god can give an interpretation and this fellow is interpreting the dream and gideon is on the outside of the enemy kept listening to what the holy ghost is about to just wreck the enemy god have mercy and when gideon the bible says and it was so when gideon heard the telling of the dream and the interpretation there that he worship and return into the host of israel and said arise for the lord has delivered into your hand the host of media my god my god god god used his own enemies to confirm the truth of his call my lord judges chapter 7 verse 19 through 22 gideon's great victory watch this so gideon and the hundred men that were with him came unto the host of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch and they had but newly shed the watch and they blew the trumpets and break the pictures that were in their hands and the three companies blew the trumpets and break the pitches and held the lamps in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands to blow with all and they cried the sword of the lord and of gideon and they stood every man in his place round about the camp and all the hosts ran and cried and fled and the 300 blew the trumpets and the lord said every man saw it against his fellow and throughout all the hosts and the hosts fled to bethchito in zerarath and to the border of el of abel mahola unto tabath i mean god so confused the enemy that the enemies turn on each other like they did with jehoshaphat the enemy began to kill one another all because of one man who was a coward low self-esteem full of doubt didn't even believe that god could use him when the holy ghost came on that man and through a series of events and circumstances orchestrated by the holy ghost gideon became even more encouraged and realized that god is not a man that he should lie not the son of man that he should have to repent if he said it he'll make it good if he spoke it he'll bring it to pass in his confidence saw it in god and gideon with 300 men took on over an army of over half a million and defeated them because of the power of the holy ghost that's why the bible says at the end of psalm at the end of isaiah 59 19 when the enemy comes against you like a flood the spirit of god will raise up a standard against him lift your hands to heaven and say god is able god is able to do just what he said he would do my god he's gonna fulfill [Music] every promise to you don't give up don't give up on god because he won't [Music] father god me and pastor amy pray for those this morning join your faith with us we pray for those who are like gideon doubtful of the call of god feel unworthy you have been beat down so bad by family and friends your esteem is low but the holy ghost is restoring your dignity this morning i'm talking to somebody you have failed you've lost you've made some bad decisions and and you're still suffering the consequences but the holy ghost said i'm going to restore your dignity this morning god is going to work in your life god said his original plan for you it have not changed all he wants is your surrender to his call just say hear my lord send me i can do it but the holy ghost in me can empower me to do it he's able to sing it hope [Music] listen god is talking to you this morning it's the holy spirit listen when god first called me i thought i used to be afraid to talk in the front of 10 people are you listening to me i used to be afraid and intimidated to get up in the front of a crowd of people i mean i would shake i would become so nervous my stomach would hurt would hurt just fear would just paralyze me but when the holy ghost came into my life and anointed me to preach the gospel the holy ghost took all of my fear all of my intimidation all of my cowardness he just took it out of me now you're listening to me and he gave me a boldness he gave me a confidence he taught me he instructed me he equipped me and i ain't afraid to stand in the front of people anymore it's because it's the holy spirit the apostle paul said it's not i but it's christ who dwells in me that does the work and he dwells in us through the holy spirit and god come on lift your hands to heaven father god may pass the enemy pray equip them god equip them with boldness equip them with confidence god reassure them and i rebuke the spirit of intimidation out of you the spirit of fear for god has not given us the spirit affair but of power and of loving of a sound mind i set you free from that spirit affair in the name of jesus i break it from off of you there's power there's power i break it off of you i break that intimidation off of you i break it off if you rise up man of god rise up woman of god just lift your hands to heaven and say here are my lord send me i'll go where you want me to go i'll say what you want me to say i'll do what you asked me to do break every team my god to break to break every chin uh he's calling you this morning in the name of jesus there's power in the name there is power in the name of jesus power in the name there is power in the name of jesus to break to break every chain every team break every team to break to break every chain break every chain break every team there's an army cause
