FSR 3 is advertised to double your frame rate provide up to a two times increase and it is amd's response to nvidia's dlss 3 frame generation but when FSR 3 first released in October of 2023 we all know across the board it was half baked in this game I think it has some promise and maybe could be improved but just doesn't feel like up to the point I would use it in and overhyped so overall I haven't been very impressed with what I've seen from amd's FSR 3 technology so far in its two launch titles AMD also decided to launch this in two of the least popular games of 2023 so far FSR 3 definitely was not ready to be released and they claimed actually that these problems with FSR 3 were already fixed behind the scenes but these games for some reason didn't use the latest version of the feature like why would you release a product into the world that is just broken and known to be broken anyways like just like the feeling of incompetence here with AMD just like embarrassing it really made us question that FSR 3 is this ever going to be good and if Nvidia is the only one that could actually make this feature work after all the only thing that FSR 3 really had going for it at least it didn't look absolutely atrocious but enter Pandora using frame generation and I did not give it bro yeah that was my reaction to using a newer version of FSR 3 frame generation in Avatar like simply to say it I was I was blown away guys I simply just flipped on frame generation and the game got better smoother and was just as responsive as it was before I mean I was going from like 50 to 60 FPS without it on to somewhere in the neighborhood of 90 to 100 FPS with frame generation on and I think this positive experience is what most people will probably have when using FSR 3 within this game I'm obviously aware that the generated 90fps is not the same as running the game natively at 90 FPS and the difference there is that the latency with real rendered frames is going to be much much lower that means a native rendered at 90 FPS is going to feel a lot more responsive a lot more tight I don't personally have a very accurate way of measuring that I mean I'll show you some clips of the screen I me moving the mouse and filming the screen itself FSR 3 for my experience doesn't seem to be noticeably affecting the way and responsiveness that the game feels and you know it looks like the smoothness of 90 FPS and you go through all these things all this frame rate and Inception to figure out what the heck we're talking about on PC now you need like a PhD and PC Master rology to understand it now but like what I'm trying to say I prefer to use FSR 3 frame generation in Avatar feels good and it's not hindering the latency or responsiveness on my system in mind you like this isn't a firstperson game where having very responsive controls is very important to a tight gameplay experience so unlike before when we turn on FSR 3 in a game like four spoken or Immortals of AVM in Avatar you turn it on it just works going into Avatar I was like this is just a movie game right like it's not going to be good I didn't expect for them to be pulling out all the stops with this technology of like FSR 3 having amazing graphics and actually art style in the game like this is this game looks beautiful and having that tight gaml with like the sliding mechanics and how how the impactful like shooting your bow is I'm not that far in the game but it surpassed my expectations for what I thought a movie game or something like that would be but I'm going to point you towards a little bit more in-depth reviews of Avatar if you really want to look into that FSR 3 in this game is not perfect though that's why AMD probably chose to put this in not the biggest or most popular game of this year Avatar is still a good game from what I can tell but it isn't going to be the biggest game of the year there's no way the main problem which what I could see in this game was not how buggy it was or anything like that but it was actually how FSR 3 handled the UI of the game you can see there's literally a box around each UI element and that around there isn't getting the extra generated frames it sticks out like a sore thumb I like I do feel like this is better than just you know putting the UI into the frame generation thing and it looks all garbled and gross and stuff like at least you can read the UI that is very important but at the same time you're using frame generation in Avatar you're looking at these amazing graphics and frame generation is allowing you to play at a higher smoothness and experience that in a much better way but you get these little boxes around the UI element and you're you're just taken right out of it it it breaks your immersion this probably means that this isn't the final form of FSR 3 there's got to be other ways that we can circumvent some of these things feel like this comment on this Hardware unbox video just sums it up perfectly the problem you're seeing here with the UI half rate render is probably because of piss poor communication in the UI art team about the limitations of the tech I am sure many of the technical devs are pissed off SL frustrated that it's a thing too this easily could be just like a time crunch thing a miscommunication within the companies I mean this is Ubisoft that we're talking about here but it seems like Avatar is yet another baby step over the disastrous launches that were in for spoken and Immortals of avum FSR 3 still is not quite there yet we're actually going to see FSR 3 coming up in some major games pretty soon like Starfield is rumored to be getting in sometime early 2024 there were some code blood hounds out there that dug through Call of Duty's game files and found that there is some remnants of FSR 3 in there does that mean it's going to be getting frame generation not really confirmed cyberpunk is still on that list of getting FSR I frame generation at some point in the future the thing is like it seems like amd's ironing out these issues with different not as big games until they get into the big releases like cyberpunk but this seems like the story like the lifeblood of how FSR 3 has always been marketed by AMD AMD keeps their mouth shut and they've been casually pushing the quote unquote 2023 release date further and further into the year I mean guys it's freaking December of 2023 and we still haven't seen FSR 3 frame generation implemented in its foolish form and not a sing sing Le game Avatar is close but it's not even quite there yet the big question is like why has AMD been treating FSR 3 like this and my theory is that AMD doesn't want to admit that they made a mistake with FSR 3 they announced frame generation just a little over a month after Nvidia actually released dlss 3 frame generation and AMD probably saw two times the frame rate lss3 can boost performance by an additional 2x through frame generation it's just frame interpolation because the lss3 generates a new frame without involving the game that's easy that's an easy layup and based on amd's track record of being behind in video with a lot of features like upscaling Ray tracing AI latency things like reflex honestly hard to believe that AMD didn't just make up the FSR 3 announcement on the spot then they also gave a very broad release window of 2023 like uh it was actually going to happen in this year now we are here and FSR 3 still isn't really out in any game into its fullest state if AMD were to admit that they announced this too early in over their heads they would look a little silly they look like clout chasers of Nvidia they just want Jensen's leather jacket but sometimes you're just not that guy but this whole situation is actually pretty funny that amd's found found themselves in and it's kind of uncomfortable at the same time we saw FSR 3 was in four spoken and Immortals of avium it releas in these games you know with the marketing and everything they they built up this whole release for like seven no like 9 months 10 months at that point in time when it released in those games it came out in the state that it was in and a lot of us were probably questioning if AMD was competent enough to Market a product for one but also are they competent enough to get a a product or feature like this to actually even work however though um we did see an avatar honestly I mean FSR 3's got potential there's still a few things to iron out but it's getting pretty freaking close and we'll see how it goes from here basically and that's where we're at with FSR 3 I just wanted to report on this and give an update because we finally got a third game within an entire year that is supposed to be released that actually has it in it it just is what it is but let me know what you think about this whole FSR 3 Jazzy scenario does it have potential have you tried it in any of these games and do you enjoy it in any of these games like for spoken Immortals avium or Avatar now this in my opinion has been one of the stupid La stupidest launches of a feature or product by any of these big tech companies in a very long time fard 3 is a mess bro that's been it for me hope you guys have a good one I'll see you in the next video peace n
