I know various traditions hold the position of national and ethnic Israel in varying degrees of primacy with regard to the plan of salvation, but...

Would that we would have the same heart as Paul here, stricken with grief that what might be regarded as the “ancestral (earthly) home” of the gospel would largely forsake that which was promised. May we hope that (regardless of eschatological convictions) many would come to Christ from Judaism.

The problem with the modern Jewish interpretation is that Isaiah 53 is ONLY about Israel as the suffering servant and the fact of the matter is that it is Israel and the Messiah.

Many people try to justify their theology by taking the narrow view of a passage rather than the comprehensive view. For example that I have been looking at with some friends, Matthew 16:-18-19's rock is Peter's confession AND Peter and not either or.

Lies, there are no forbidden chapters in the Jewish Bible. Jews study it as any other text from prophets.
