bayless Thoreau and his wife always always been tremendously kind to me and believed in my generation I was just thinking I was in Ohio a few weeks ago with their daughter sister calyx and I just remembered seeing calyx at 15 years old singing at Florida camp teen camp she was singing and they were like yes she can sing I was like it was the sing spiration and now to see her married with the child and everything the key know what god is something beautiful and just to see the example of this family holding on to this wonderful truth their faithfulness to God and it's an example to me and my family give honor to my beautiful wife Louisa that my son James Asher amen hey man why don't we open up our Bibles to the book of Exodus chapter 3 Exodus chapter 3 verse 7 God you really put this word into my spirit wrestled with it this morning and he wants me to release it to this wonderful church and my son is with the in the kids class so he's having a blast right now he's having a good time Exodus chapter 3 verse 7 I'm just excited you know just create an atmosphere of excitement I don't know what you do it y'all I'm trying to be calm amen if you have its Amen and the Lord said I have surely seen the affliction of my people which aren't Egypt and have heard their cry by reasoning up their taskmasters for I know their sorrows and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good land and a large until land flowing with milk and honey unto the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the amorite and the parasites and the Hivites and the Jebusites verse 9 last Scripture now therefore behold the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me and I've also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them he said the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me I want to preach on this subject this morning the cry for mercy the cry for mercy why don't you lay your Bibles down everyone close your eyes lift up your hands and let's ask the Lord to have his way in this place God we put our trust in you we trust not in ourselves I trust not in my flesh I have no confidence in victor jackson i know that in me that is in my flesh dwelleth no good thing but God my confidence of my trust is in you and in your spirit because we know that it's not by might nor by power but it's only by your spirit God transformed people this morning with your power uplift as only you can but the Spirit work God like only you can in Jesus name a man can you clap your hands to the Lord can you cut those hands a little bit louder come on if you have expectation why don't you clap your hands all ye people and shout unto God with the voice of triumph amen you may be seated in the presence of the Lord somebody shout yes somebody shout see come on somebody don't make me pull the Spanish out on you I can't do I can't see y'all waiting for word but I'm gonna we'll just hold it back for a while eh now you may pull it out randomly while I'm preaching amen the cry for mercy my task is very difficult this morning because I want to give you a glimpse of the everlasting mercy of God it's very mysterious it works in very unique ways and I might ask my assignment this morning is to try to show you the way God's mercy has been moving in your life in ways that you don't understand or appreciate right now one of the first things that people don't like to talk about that's important to Mercy that's crucial to Mercy and that is judgment and I don't care how good you are how good-looking you are everybody in this building deserves judgment for you were born in sin and you were shapen in iniquity from the time you first breathe God could have killed you not hearing me you're not hearing me because sin is disobedience against God it's disobedience it's and everyone's born in sin because of what Adam and Eve did in the beginning we we are born in sin and sin whenever God spoke to Abraham he said I've got to go down to Sodom and Gomorrah to see if their sin is according to the cry of it sin has a voice and that voice cries out to God for judgment when you sin he cries out to God God please judge me now so from the time you first came out of the womb mercy was working on your back to stifle the cry of San come on somebody God says I'm not gonna judge them no cuz I'm gonna give them an opportunity in Clearwater one day to get it right hit my presence huh I've got a whole judgment back amen amen sin has a voice and it cries out for judgment one of the most important things to understand about God is mercy but you cannot understand mercy unless you understand judgment and I know we live in an age where they say there is no judgment there is no eternal judgment but there is judgment and once you understand that you are supposed to be judged now for the life that you have lived come on somebody huh you're gonna begin to see a glimpse of the mercy of God huh that he would not judge you that he would not destroy you huh the very testimony of His mercy is that you're here today huh come on somebody you survived some stuff that you weren't supposed to survive huh that wasn't by your intellect that wasn't by your ability no it was the mercy of God that was reaching for you from the beginning we have to understand that God's mercy is is when God withhold judgment then we deserve anybody ever deserves some consequences you're not hearing me y'all not hearing me right now where I deserved it I couldn't talk myself out of it I deserved it come on there's some things that I've done that I deserve the consequences huh but why not deserves the consequences I'm so thankful that mercy stood in the gap for me come on huh and his blood washed over me and it's top judgement from coming into my life mercy David said surely goodness and mercy shall follow me but I'd like to present to you this morning is that mercy doesn't just follow you mercy goes before you mercy doesn't just consider your past mercy considers your future mercy works in the past and the present and the future I think about whenever I was 18 years old and I just graduated high school and I had a mission is she Galan don't judge me they all go Joe a burgundy Missy Missy how did I survive High School Your Honor I don't even a burgundy Mishi Mishi gallant I graduated high school and I wanted to go see my cousin graduate high school who lived about an hour away and so I say you know what I want to I want to go I want to go see her but the problem is at this time I was getting ready to go play college basketball and all I did for most of my life was wear basketball clothes so the problem was going to her graduation I didn't feel comfortable showing up in some Jordans y'all not hearing me I wasn't comfortable showing up with my Jordan my Jordan shorts and my Jordan slippers and my tank top on and you know with my Jesus peace medallion y'all not hearing me out here I wasn't comfortable doing that so I said you know what I better go give me some dress clothes cuz I don't have any let me go find me some some slacks and a nice little jerk shirt and so I can show up in you know look presentable you know when I go get some clothes went gonna iron the clothes you know I was like oh come on somebody I wasn't saved yet I didn't get saved until I was 19 years old a full year year after this moment but I'm 18 years old and I put these clothes on and I get in my little Misha Misha girl on about to drive an hour to go and sear and while I'm in this mr. Bishop get along I make a conscious decision and say you know I don't think I'm gonna put my seatbelt on it's only an hour I don't think I'm gonna put my seatbelt on because I don't want my dress close to getting wrinkled oh there's conviction in the house already [Applause] hey I put all this effort into put into this thing I don't want to get a wrinkle with my seat belt you know we got some excuses I know and so I didn't put my seat belt on I started driving and I'm going about 50 miles an hour on this road about 50 anywhere from 50 to 60 while I'm going on this road it was a small little highway and every now and again on this highway there would be parallel parking alongside the highway there to be some parallel parking along this because it the highway go through a town and there'd be some parallel parking every now and again while I'm driving about 50 55 miles an hour on this Highway and all of a sudden a car gets into my lane and it's coming toward me in the opposite direction it's about to be a head-on collision it's amazing how when a tragedy is about to happen how time slows down because I thought to myself I was like well you know these things about to hit me and I don't have time to really put the brake on but if I do put the brake I'm still going to hit the car and see I'm thinking all this life I'm still gonna hit the car and if I put the brake on the impact of that car could break my ankle and there goes my college basketball career I thought all of that in point zero zero zero five seconds so I was like so I'm gonna hit this car already so I'm just gonna lift my foot off the brake allow the contact to happen and just hopefully I don't break any bones could I tell you that car hit me it was a head-on collision that card.not it knocked me over into the passenger's side my car begin in the world in circles begin to do a 360 oh and my head hit the windshield cracks went through all both sides of the wind should I have blood all over my face as I'm going 360 in this parallel parking there was a car parked right there and there was a car parked right here and there was one single open spot in the middle my car literally did a 360 and land it perfectly in the open spot without touching either car can I tell you I deserve to die I wasn't living right but God said Victor Jackson doesn't know it yet [Music] I say you should have died I said there's some people that's coming here huh hey you've been unhappy with your circumstances up but if you could consider the judgment that was coming to your life that God protected you from me meet Allah there will be a joy that will come out of you never be a shouting never be a dancing people that are always sad and always got something to complain about huh they're forgotten then mercy huh has been working in their life and nobody here deserves mercy huh I don't think it's the will of God for people to come into church huh always with their head down always woe is me woe no no no huh what I consider the mercy of God what I consider a lot of joy in this building [Applause] [Applause] and remember how I said you should have died of a juggle for those but look where you are right now your insurance I say you should have dried and that car accident but look where you are right now in the presence of God I said you should have died you should have been outside right now the best advice you endured in your life but here you are sitting on a few let's take your hands to Jesus ah that is the first scene God that has been worked Mercy Mercy Mercy Mercy has been working that's what I come to priests of this church mercy has been working in this church has been working subtly it's been working behind the scenes it's been producing growth my lord I just was here this summer in June aren't you live and I could just see in the past six months that mercy has beginning to pull a bunch of people out of some pits come on somebody power of God mercy has begun to take me bother depression that's we're gonna take you out of anxiety but we're gonna take me a lot of prison cells are mercy that's begun in this tax Mercy Mercy Mercy Mercy has been working here I got a difficult assignment because I'm trying to show you how Marcy has been pulling for you before you came out of your Mama's belly mercy was already setting up your future you're not hearing me right now he told Jeremiah before I formed you in the belly huh I knew you and I are deigned you and what God was telling Jeremiah was you're gonna go through some things Jeremiah huh you're gonna cry some tears in your life there's gonna be some people they won't like you and that's gonna reject you huh but he said but before you ever took your first breath I already equipped you with what it takes to get through you're not hearing me I said before the storm got already in his mercy they do everything you need in a sec get through the battle to get through the fight I hear the Lord saying tell my people they don't they don't have to ask me for for new mercy right now he said they need to start asking me for revealed mercy God says I'm gonna reveal how I've been working I said they're kind of mercy better no no he says I'm gonna reveal to them what I've kept them from because they don't know that cancer was coming into their life and it was beginning they eat up their body but in a Sunday morning surface they lifted up their hands and I immediately healed them up that cancer that they didn't know they had no come on you're not hearing me right now you know the types of things ever happen in your body in your family but you don't realize in a moment like God stop that attack of the enemy I miss father I said in the midst of it you don't even realize it do you you don't even realize you didn't even realize that you almost died last night huh but God where you were about to die but fresh breath in your body but you don't even realize it you don't even realize how God has been working behind the scenes that is the mercy of God that God is revealing to this church I mean that is when we're taking you payback I said it could be worse than it is right now O Lord do you think your situation is bad right now but God says you don't know it could be a lot worse I've been helping you you haven't realized I've been withholding judgment from you the enemy the accuser of the Brethren huh has been taking your petition to the throne and saying kill them God get them God and God said no you get to the side Satan that is a child hear the voice of the enemy protective you know I've come to offer love that come to offer crazy [Applause] Mercy Mercy Mercy Mercy Mercy Mercy Mercy Mercy Adam and Eve sinned against God and now we see that first glimpse of mercy in the text we see the first glimpse the thread begins to be inter woven all the way from Genesis throughout the law throughout the prophets all throughout all the way to Matthew Mark Luke and John we see the threat of Mercy begun all the way from the book of Genesis for the first time how where the deserve judgment in every judgment and that judgment where they fail God huh God not only judge them but he gave them a seed he said genesis 3:15 this is what they call the first good news the proto evangeline huh he said that the seed of the woman is going to bruise the head of the serpent huh that was a type and shadow of Jesus coming through Eve's loins huh much later huh and destroying the attack of the enemy huh that was a prophecy of Jesus Christ huh but you know in the judgment there was a seed of mercy huh that came out of judgment you're not hearing me right now with everything going wrong in your life there is a seed of mercy that God wants you to start looking for that when you find that seed it's gonna reverse the curse that the enemy has tried to put on their life where you find that seed of mercy you're gonna see that that mercy is the key to destroying every symbol of dysfunction to destroying every generational curse it's a destroying every spirit that tried to sabotage you huh he said there's mercy coming out of that pain huh there's mercy coming out of that judgment we see it again and that makes few chapters we see it again with named Kane he kills his brother huh he commits of offense an unforgivable offense he kills his brother huh and so God judges him and he bans him out of the land and now he's going as a vagabond and Cain said look Lord my judgment is greater than I can bear and so look what God said here's what I'm gonna do I'm gonna put a mark on you he said I'm gonna put a mark on you so nobody will be able to kill you I know you deserve to die but I'm going to mark you with mercy I said God on you I said the enemy's not just gonna have free reign in your life God put a mark on you he said they're not doing right they're not doing the best they've had fillers they've had mistakes they've had dilemmas huh but I will not allow their enemies to kill them huh I will put a mark of mercy on every one of them I am going to put a mark of mercy huh so the enemy knows that's mine you're not hearing me right now I say you're the Lord's possession huh I said you're precious in His sight huh I say you're the apple of his eye I said you mean everything to Jesus I I said he created you with the purpose I I said he didn't create you so you can fail he created you to survive not only survive but to be victorious he created you to be more than a conqueror I wish I had some help in this building huh he created you to be more than what you are right now somebody shout yes I'm just gonna let you have some consequences put a mark on you you're not gonna die I say your situation ain't gonna kill you I said your consequences aren't gonna destroy you I'm preaching to you right now when the holding is you've been marked you've been marked because even and all your failures she's still a child he's still a child of the king that he will not abandon and so we see that thread of mercy from the beginning am i hoping anybody can see that hood of mercy and we see the children of Israel they were in captivity for 430 years 430 years of being whipped and having taskmasters over their Bank 430 years of living and oppressed conditions 430 years of someone else telling them when to wake up when to go to bed 430 years of somebody telling them how to raise their kids and what to do and what not to do what you can't wear what you can't wear what to do what not to do 430 years of all of that suffering and then finally the people of God got so oppressed and they were so broken the Bible says that they cried out to God for mercy they cried out to God from the depth of destruction from the depth of hurt from the depths of fear finally they got the courage to not tolerate being under the the the prison that imprisoned by the devil huh finally they summed up the courage that I don't have to live this way if God doesn't want me to live this way finally they summed up the courage they stopped being silent they stopped letting me in and me beat them and push them in a corner huh they stopped saying woe is me woe is me woe is me huh but you know what they realize they realized that they had a voice they realized they had a voice that God has attracted to a voice that God cannot ignore how are you hearing me right now huh finally they got out of their pity party huh and they got up and they open up their mouths and when they cried out to God John was quick and his response so they cry out for mercy now they didn't realize how uncomfortable mercy can be Oh I'm not preaching this something they didn't realize huh I said mercy is uncomfortable I'm gonna tell you why because when they cried out to Mercy they didn't realize that when you cry out for mercy you cry out for Jane [Applause] succeed we want to walk in mercy but remain the same but mercy breeds responsibility to church just nod I said mercy is has a dual nature to it where God has this part and you have your part and that's where God does his greatest work when divinity gets involved with humanity and humanity gets involved with divinity that's what he does his greatest work his greatest work wasn't when he created the heavens his greatest work was not when he stretched forth the Stars his greatest work was not when he stretched forth the galaxies huh his greatest work was not when he put together a tabernacle prayer huh his greatest work was not when he raised up the prophets of the Old Testament his greatest work was when God became man got involved with you [Applause] that's where that's where that's where the greatest work it happened when God left the splinters of the heaven the walls of Jasper the pearly gates the streets of gold and he rolled himself in flesh as a baby huh and mercy came wrapped in human form you're not hearing me right now I said mercy can wrap humanity it's wet divinity gets involved with humanity you know you know how many humans were responsible for that merciful gift huh you know Joseph had it had to have a dream huh three times to protect it do you know that Anna had to come and worship it don't you know that Simeon had to get involved don't you know the Gentiles the wise men from the east he had to come and worship him don't you know that the Shepherd's had to come don't you know how that Caesar had to tax them to get in the Bethlehem humans were just as a part of the miracle as God was a part of the miracle and the miracle that God what's the word take your life has a dimension where you are involved just as much as he has [Applause] merci Brees responsibility cried out for mercy but they didn't realize God was just gonna change 430 years of a habit they knew where their next meal was coming from you're not hearing they were in captivity but at least they knew where it is gonna eat they're in captivity but at least they know where they gonna lie their head they're in captivity but at least they got the comfort of their regimented program system and routine when they cried out for mercy cause like you should there's gonna be some responsibilities they come with freedom they cried out for mercy so they see God do his work does the ten plays got frogs coming out in the ground God got kids six top mosquitoes eating up the magician's y'all not hearing me God got blood all up in the Nile God he'll stones coming down from heaven got fire coming and consuming stuff sin indefinite usuals it's tough destroying the firstborn and stuff and they didn't have any responsibility in the beginning God's like let me show my stuff those Israelites was like oh look ya'll bad-to-the-bone pharaoh mad y'all pharaoh mad you mad bro then they say Mercy's just starts working in them say hey now now now for the final miracle we need you to we need you to to put some blood on your doorpost okay that's easy and then now we're going we're going to walk towards the red see what we're doing that forward but okay now to the red sea again drop a boat from heaven for us or something no no no I think Moses said we probably gonna walk through by the way that Egyptians are right behind us God's supposed to do something no no no you just start walking your responsibility is to just walk and the mercy that I've set before me and mercy has a way of unfolding its right see there's like whoa nice and dry land that's some more dry land so this is so this ain't gonna take me out no no justjust keep walking that's your responsibility and they walk through and then like who mercy worked for us then all of a sudden they start hearing their bellies Rumble now did you save me so I can go hungry talking to somebody and did you say their bellies rumbling now and they start getting agitated yo yo Moses we ain't got none eat out here you want to get on people's bad side you you don't feed them they get mad at you you start withholding food fighting the instincts come out of people as my cornbread it's my cannibal that's my three oldest con ellos [Applause] they weren't accustomed to Fair Park and walking in mercy so it breed it a type of bitterness almost against God because I'm expecting you to work he says I am working but I am working in you it's amazing how people will cry for mercy and come to church move like well you know the best thing you can do is just take on the name of Jesus and baptism and get baptized in Jesus name I'm suddenly like I got six head claps and 200 confused looks what do you mean I have a responsibility well I was expecting God to just do it for me but I still live my life in that toxic relationship you know I don't want to take all my addiction away God leave me a little addiction you telling me if I get baptized in Jesus name he gonna wash it all the way I'm uncomfortable that's sad well we got a debate with people to take on the name of Jesus and baptism like don't you love Jesus yeah how do you feel taking on his name I gotta do something because we you don't start doing your part that mercy like stagnates over you feel like a wall of growth you're like like you're like like you get stagnant at your growth because the next step is not God's part the next step is your part so even salvation is not just God believe be confess repent that's you get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the washing away of your sins that's you then God says I got a gift for you I'm about to give you the gift of the Holy Ghost because I say you did your part in person and I'm gonna do my part of mercy come on somebody this is like this law I understand this mod I understand I understand the children of Israel I understand them because I used to see we all like to see ourselves as Moses or as Aaron or as Miriam are as are as you know the heroes of the Bible those rebellious Israelites can you believe they always murmuring they want water all the time and but I started looking at those Israelites a little closer I'm like oh and I see me in those Israelites because 430 years of doing the same thing now they're walking with God and they're barely surviving God's given them manna from heaven every day that they can't store over one day or it'll breed wrong worms it's not manna wasn't enough to survive two days it was only enough to survive that day it was that day to day that's uncomfortable when you in each if you had all those cucumbers stacked up open up the cupboard yeah eating good but changing got some shackles around your feet gaining weight in prison gaining weight in shackles but now they're living for God and they start seeing my ribs but I'm so thankful that when they cry for mercy and although it was uncomfortable they couldn't they didn't have anything to drink cuz I ain't Moses just hit that rock they didn't understand it I'm gonna drink out of this thing oh man this this this river man it says it's bitter water here oh yeah just throw it just throw a stick in it but it become sweet okay now this is odd and the Bible says then they came out of Egypt watch this as an army they went from holding straw and bricks to in a moment holding swords and shields mercy provoked them and to doing things they didn't know they were capable of cuz then they allowed mercy - mercy will challenge you to believe God for something you know you can't do in your own power and in your own life but what I love about God is that God he when he heard the cry for mercy this is when I came to preach he already saw their 40 years of wandering he already sought their murmuring he already saw their rebellion he already saw everything that would do wrong when he responded to the first cry for mercy because when he responds to mercy he just doesn't respond to your past transgressions he responds to your future transgressions Oh Lord he doesn't just factor in your past wrong mistakes he sees the future mistakes and he stills responds a Parsi in the present can somebody clap your hands can you stand to your feet and clap your hands for a moment everybody in this building pop those hands the llama host she cut her heart hallelujah I came it's appreciated this morning that God is extending mercy to you as an individual to this congregation but it's gonna be challenging you're gonna be stepping out of your comfort zone you always said you couldn't sing y'all not hearing me out there but mercy says I got a psalm in your heart I'm wanting to pull out I don't think I ever could do this but mercy says I'm gonna help you do this I never thought I could be committed like that but mercy says fill my niche fill my pool I've got a bright future for you if you start taking steps of courage in that mercy mercy is never an active and it never stays in the same spot mercy keeps moving [Music] Merson keeps moving it's new every morning you don't hold on to pass Mercy Mercy's brand new every time you wake up there's some people here that no matter what is preached across this pulpit no matter how much presence of God you feel no matter how much great the singing is no matter how great the choir sings no matter how much Glory's here no matter how many people get healed you're afraid to walk in mercy so even with the presence of God like it is right now there's some people that as soon as asked everybody to come up for time of Prayer you immediately go out the door it doesn't matter how good it is how time it is you just expect God to do everything and that's why you get in a cycle [Music] because you rather eat comfortable in a prison cell than to be uncomfortable walking in victory people here no matter how dead-on it is they made up their mind I'm not walking in mercy I just like watching him do the plagues and I watching him do his thing do his fireworks but when God starts extending his hand to come forward you run from him God is issuing new mercy today because he's heard you cry but he's saying it's gonna be uncomfortable but you're gonna thank me for where I'm taking you and where I'm leading you later but he said it's time for you to start walking in mercy I want everyone from the front to the back I want you to make some steps forward we're gonna have a time of prayer before we leave this place everyone from the front of the bank move in as close as you can I'm gonna pray a prayer blessing over you the ridge is gonna have a time of Prayer I want to pray that God mercy God's mercy goes before you come on that's it that's it that's it move in as close as you can I see God's I see mercy working in people's lives right now oh I see mercy working in people's lives right now oh I see mercy working I see mercy working right now oh they say brother Jackson I'm just uncomfortable I don't know how it's gonna be what I'm delivered I don't know how is it gonna be when I'm set free I don't know how it's gonna be God's hand is still reaching for you they saying just walk with me I'm gonna show you how to get through the storm I'm gonna show you how to get through the battle i'ma show you I'm gonna turn you into a soldier I'm gonna turn you in so mighty army I know you just been picking up bricks and and building stuff for other people but he said I'm about to make you into a soldier I'm putting you and Ty they army up the Lord I'm gonna do something with you you're gonna set the tone in your family huh you break your breaking spirits you're breaking curses you're breaking stuff but you just gotta make up your mind to walk with me just walk with me how take care of it huh just walk with me how take care of it huh just walk with me how take care of it huh in the name of the Lord in the name of the Lord in the name of the lord he Lobo taya oh I'll give you instruction in a moment but I just want you to lift up your hands right now I feel mercy descending in this building [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] come on that's it lift up your voice lift up your hands she's hearing your cry right now [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Pauline [Music] hallelujah [Music] hallelujah oh Jesus hallelujah merci [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] praise God [Music] some somebody here is initiating a flow of mercy in this place I feel mercy just flowing like a river and this altar right now I just feel it [Music] flowing from the front to the back of him I'm trying to move on but this river just flowing it's taken some dirt out of your life it's taking hurts out of your life it's taking pain out of your life it's taken heartache is taking mistakes out it's getting caught up in the river and it's just flowing into a sea of forgetfulness right now [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] father [Music] hallelujah [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]
