Can anyone who's seen this documentary let me know if it's worth investing an hour in?
Edit: Thank you all for your detailed responses. I'll be giving the documentary a watch when I next have an hour to spare.
My roommate in college was from the Soviet Union just before the fall. I was fascinated and had all kinds of questions for him. He was in the Communist Party, majoring in Architecture, he brought a kilo of black caviar and wanted to sell it for some cash on the black market: "Uhhh we don't have that here, we don't need a black market for anything like that, you need something and there's someone out there who wants to sell it to you." He was really disappointed. At some point, he started saying harsh things about Jews out of nowhere. That's when my brain checked out.
I went to have my room changed the next day.
Months later, maybe the next year, I can't recall, he was in bad shape when it all fell apart. I would have felt bad for him, but as it turns out, he was not just anti-Semitic, but he was generally and asshole. Fuck you Kasha.

I'm not sure, having seen it, that I understand why the official revelation of the pact in 1989 led to the downfall of the S Union. Wiki said it was published in the national press of the Allies soon after WWII
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov-Ribbentrop_Pact#Aftermath
Was that information completely buried? Wouldn't its knowledge by the Allies have been leverage in the cold war?
If you're interested in this one, then this 10 part 10hr series on the 1st world war is VERY good.

The common perception of the 1st world war is quite narrow, this shows that it was truly a world war outside of the European theatre, and all the fault lines that lead to where we are today.
The tankies over at CTH are NOT going to like this one bit
Is this terribly biased in some way? I see Estonian produced documentary about the USSR, I question how objective it may be.
