I worked for a mid-level regional brokerage firm that always keeps tons of cash on hand for payroll, stayed profitable throughout the whole financial crisis, and almost went under because the credit market seized and they couldnβt secure financing to cover an end of month payroll plus debt payment.
Things got real close to getting real bad. Profitable, stable, low debt load companies going bankrupt en masse, looking at depression event.
It's crazy how close we came to depression.
