The Blessing | Aotearoa/New Zealand Premiere

[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] welcome everybody good to see you my name is grant norsworthy and i'm brooke norrisworthy kia ora welcome to the premiere the launch of the blessing aotearoa new zealand you know what we're actually going to be watching in just a moment is uh a virtual choir video built around the song called the blessing and it felt to me to be the overall producer of this uh song and video that you're about to see but i couldn't have done it with a lot of help um one of the main people that helped me was brooke right we called you the co-producer in the end you sort of fell into it when i realized the production job was just too much for one person too much for me anyway but we're very excited to be sharing this video with you soon how was the co-producing job for you oh it was fantastic i had the the privilege of uh previewing 200 vocal submissions and um finding the little nuggets of gold in there and uh we want to thank a lot of our contributors are actually watching right now so we want to take a moment to thank them so much for uh sharing the gift with us uh contributing to the blessing our tiara and we um yeah we just love it we hope that you'll uh look for your face and um enjoy enjoy watching with us oh it's you know it was just amazing how hard uh you worked to produce those vocal videos learning the song setting up the camera um singing your hearts out and it was just a wonderful joy to receive all those but it wasn't just singers that we want to thank there's also a bunch of instrumentalists some of whom don't appear on the screen who are in our recording and also a lot of tech helpers and advisers and all sorts of people but we're going to do more of a proper thanks after the video that i'm sure you want to see you don't want to hear us talking anymore i bet no we really want to share this video with you we're so excited we feel like it's a beautiful representation of our people our culture our land our languages we have today our maori we have um new zealand sign language so and some english and some english with some english in there as well and most importantly we feel like uh this is new zealand uh joining the global choir to to share these words of of god the the words of blessing that he would share with us right now in this tough year 2020 not just with our home of our home country of new zealand but all and i i personally don't know what to say i feel like i've just given birth to a fourth child it does feel a little bit like that not quite nine months but quite a few months of working on that and i hope it's connecting the dots for you we are sorry for making you wait so long if you've been waiting for this i know quite a few people were but now the work really starts we want the blessing to be counting on it kelly harkins he's in nashville tennessee i'm making a comment thank you kelly so um and while we're commenting thanking people um so many people were involved in this project we should really take a moment uh to thank um particularly riemann media we've got justin here tonight helping us with this launch remember really jumped on board to help us get this out to as many people as possible yeah this wasn't i i it's not out there i'm called the producer and brooke's called the pro co-producer but this really was a massive team effort and um you know they were in addition to the couple hundred people on the other side of the camera for the vocal and instrumental submissions that went together to make the end product there were some instrumentalists who weren't in the video as well thank you team and an ocean of technicians video editors in particular we'd like to to thank matt alexander from canned media he did a great job of the video editing john boyd uh did a lot of audio editing and did the audio mix for us um johnny higgins we should mention too did a lot of production work but we're very very thankful to quite a few people i'd like to mention david tapana senior who helped with uh bringing about that verse three in te reo for us and helping us with the karanga and the karakia and really helping us integrate today and the maori culture in a way that we hope and we believe shows uh the wonderful rich diversity of our nation uh thank you to our new zealand sign language speakers there's just so many people to think we won't be able to name them all here but there is going to be a proper thanks list uh in the descriptions of the video that you'll find there at youtube and also on facebook and i can see in the comments that motto worker baptist worship team is watching this at their practice tonight hi guys thank you so much for tuning in good on you mot bats love you guys hope to see you again soon that's just down the road we're actually coming to you by the way from uppamutori on the top of the south island and uh this is this is my little studio called shabby road but anyway so we've got people tuning in from actually all over the world so that's just such a blessing to us to see that um uh you've joined us tonight as well as um some of our many uh kiwi friends and family thanks for being here yeah there's so many i'm reluctant to continue with the thank you list for for the you know the danger of boring people but there are so many people to thank and um please note this was a massive team effort couldn't have done it without um without you who are watching this and now it's the the job continues we really love this this uh song and the message of the song the video to get to as many people as possible we'd like to think that we've got something here that's going to help share god's blessing beyond our terror to the rest of the world and yeah so please get behind it we would love to think that just about every sunday gathering of believers across el toro would include this video in their services a lot of us can't gather right now because of covert 19 gathering restrictions um so we invite you please don't wait for our permission i've got a pastor calling me just earlier today saying can i have your permission to show this video for the blessing in my church service on a sunday and i'm like are you kidding permission please include it in whatever you're doing in your home groups your church services whatever let's get it seen and let's let the blessing be shared in fact i can see a comment from grant harris saying uh that it'll be in his service his streaming service on sunday so thank you grant that's awesome great that's good and you know one of the things i loved about this book and i hope you agree with this who if you're watching this is that we had uh just a wonderful diversity there we had people from really big churches um you know the the ones that are extremely influential across our country thank you life thank you arise thank you equippers uh thank you others of that sort of size but we had that right alongside little tiny church congregations as well um this this project was not about big churches little churches famous singers good looking people none of that it didn't matter we just wanted to sing god's blessing together and we're so thankful that everyone got involved and how awesome was it that we had like one of the very first vocal pairings we had was someone in kaitaia way up north and someone from dunedin um it was just i mean i'm guessing those two don't know each other but the way that those uh singers joined together in the video um from you know different different parts of new zealand and the church was unified through uh their singing i see uh mani uh mentioning the uk blessing um and that's the video that i saw with brooke back in march where our family gathered around the tv to watch the uk blessing that was back in march and that's the one that inspired us but you might not realize this but that's not the first one of these uh virtual choir videos that came out around this song the blessing uh we're thankful to the writers and to elevation church for putting out the song originally uh near the start of this year but uh pittsburgh started this phenomenon as i understand it and there's been close to i think about 50 different virtual choir videos that have come out uh built around this song the blessing and we're but one of them and uh we we just love that we are not only producing a song version for our terror but actually part of the global choir people of the christian faith bonding together across continents across every little divide that that actually isn't that important and singing together god's blessing yep well we really hope you enjoyed it um feel free to leave additional comments um under the uh on the event under the live stream or under the video itself we'd love to know what you um i i've actually watched this video over and over again through all the different uh versions as we brought it to the finished product uh we actually and we nearly nearly drove poor matt alexander crazy we got up to what he called whip 28 that's work in progress 28 and i think the final product was 29 but we've watched every one of those 28 and never got tired of it i want to watch it again
