hey guys what's going on welcome to another video and welcome to my Shaman guide here we go the first thing I want to talk about is talents now the first these are the talents that I'm running I will give you some Alternatives in 60 upgrades but the talents I'm running is Shield specialization increases your chance to block attacks with a shield by 5% and increases the amount blocks by 25% this this is so so key for Shaman tanking because your ability to get Block this early in the game is so low and blocking is so very key to your gameplay and I'll explain why later I'm also then running thundering strikes increases your chance to get a Critical Strike with your weapon attacks by 5% now there are other things you can take here but this is what I've gone for for more damage we'll talk about the other options as well I've then gone for enhancing totems which increases the effect of your strength of Earth and great Grace of air totems by 15% now we don't have Grace of air totem so it's just strength of Earth and it takes it from 20 to 23 which is you know it's okay uh anticipation increases your chance to dodge by an additional 3% with' obviously only running three points in this which is literally just to get us down to the next level which is flurry increases your attack speed by 10% for your next three swings after dealing a Critical Strike now again the are other things you can go so let's just switch to 60 upgrades so here we can go over a little bit more different Talent choices and things like that so I would say that Shield specialization for a shaman tank is just mandatory getting that extra 5% Shield block is crazy because of the interactions with Shield Mastery now you have a couple of different choices here you basically want to get down to the next tier what I was running originally was ston skin totem and three points in into ancestral knowledge Five Points in anticipation and one point in toughness I would argue this is the tankiest possible build you can go with ston skin totem reducing the damage you're taking maximum amount of avoidance and even a little bit more armor what I would say is this is this felt very unnecessary for tanking anything in the game there's nothing that's going to hit you hard enough so what I then decided to go for is a little bit more damage if you don't like the idea of going for thundering strikes and FL using strength of Earth is probably pretty big for your group so I would suggest always taking enhancing totems so my build would probably look something like this if I didn't want to take flurry with the rest of the points going into anticipation you have a lot you can play around with the talents that I deem almost mandatory are shield specialization and enhancing totems because of the benefit they bring to you and the group now let's talk runes you are pretty locked into which runes you use as a shaman tank Shield Mastery is pretty much your only option of the four and each time you block hence why we need so much block value or block chance sorry you regenerate Mana equal to 8% of your maximum mana and you gain armor equal to 30% of your Shield's armor value stacking up to five times you also always gain 10% increased chance to block and 15% increased block value now just to give you an idea my shield in game gives me 7 25 armor so 725 doing some quick math there gives me my shield alone gives me a total of 1,812 armor that's insane that is absolutely absurd the amount of armor it gives at 1,500 armor with nothing else I'm gaining 38.2% and I'm gaining more armor from literally just my shield than that so you can see just how absurd that is the other benefit to this is it also also gives you the block value so you're blocking more with each hit as well which is kind of huge your leg run then you again don't really have an option way of Earth is almost your only option because of the increased threat Health damage reduction chance to be crate and a taunt you just have to have way of Earth so while Rock biter is active on your mainhand weapon you deal 50% increased threat gain 30% increased Health take 10% reduced damage gains 6% reduced chance to be critically hit by melee attacks and earthshock tauns targets up to you and has a separate coold down but requires you to be in melee all in all this is just mandatory you have to go way of Earth it's so strong just to note Rock B is only a 5 minute duration so make sure you keep that up because it can be kind of rough otherwise now here is the first one where you actually have a choice of what you play now for me you're never going to take lava lash because you need a dual wield so that's out of the question lava burst is a cast and because of the way spell patback Works in classic you're never going to get this off against a boss that's actually hitting you regularly and you can't block while casting which leaves mol blast and Water Shield and it's very simple Water Shield you take on single Target fights Morton blast you take on any situation where you need to cleave you actually don't need Morton blast to hold aggro single Target and we'll talk about like gameplay and rotation and things in a bit but you don't need need this for single Target so what I would suggest is as I said Water Shield single Target molten Blast for AOE now let's talk stats now you have a couple of different options of how you play your Shaman of course you can go for that really high uh melee attack power which scales your molten blast and will do Insane damage in dungeons you can go full stamina and be a very protective tank um that we stamina armor and you can go for some sort of hybrid I went very very very hard on stamina early on Purely because of the way I I was expecting the raid to go I thought the tanker I am the better it is this is my gear currently of what I've got like I said I've not necessarily got bit by any means I'm running nine stamina on the helmet two on the necklace seven on the shoulders the Sergeant's Cape which is a very big pickup The Raid chest the Blackwolf bracers face Smasher which is a very good pickup by the way uh Arctic buckler which is from The Raid Quest as well the trink KET Rune of per Perfection from warung out Riders silver Lane's family seal and seal of Sylvanas warong boots leggings of the Fang dekin Bell which is actually I could pick up something better but I felt that the 12 attack power was actually pretty big and then obviously the Le the Epic leather gloves which is very big for you as a tank gives you an extra cool down to pick up threat in the on use 1% hit is nothing to be sniffed at and extra armor so what I was prioritizing on my gear now now that I've done the raid and I'm kind of just gearing to what I would consider B is a mix between strength a little bit of agility I'm not against intellect and then lots of stamina I'm running around with 1,856 health at level 25 self buffed with way of Earth and yeah I'm feeling very confident and comfortable in the raid I would look to something like this um and I'm going to show kind of pre might what I would consider preiss and what I would consider game B as well just in a second on screen currently is what I would consider prebis now there these aren't necessarily the absolute prebis but I think it's a realistic things to pick up so humet Helm is going to be an expensive and difficult Grind from The Dun garok Rifleman in hillsbrad but it is just the best helmet you could also get the ringed helmet from the rare and wetlands but I mean if you can't get that literally just picking up one of the hel helmets for just the extra armor is not bad you could go engineering and get the goggles but obviously if you can get humbert's Helm it's definitely worth it Scouts Medallion is from honored in warung out Riders uh and just gives you something to put in that agility is not something to be sniffed at gives you armor gives you crit gives you dodge I believe definitely not a stat to be wasted and it's probably one of the best pre- raid necklaces you can get shoulders then you can get things like the earn leather shoulders which just give pure stamina and are quite easy to get but realistically if you can get something like of the monkey where it's giving you stamina plus something you might lose one or two points of stamina you're gaining a lot of a whole other stat same for cloak and there is actually quite an easy cloak to get which is the Slayer Cape which is four strength three stamina remember that strength converts to attack power at one strength to two attack power so this is equivalent to eight attack power on the cloak which is pretty nice there's a couple of different options that you can get things like this if you're fighting some of the Beast bosses inside like uh Akamai or gumra um you could go and get Cape of the Brotherhood if you wanted a little bit more agility me personally I do like this uh strength uh stamina Cape so that's why I'm running or was running anyway uh black and Def armor is just too good 11 stamina and then agility and strength are both being used as well just kind of crazy the bracers you can kind of pick up anything here I mean you could go for things like Jurassic braces where it's agility strength for some damage you can go for uh glowing leather which is a rare drop what's the I think it's bare braces there you go be braces where it's just five stamina um yeah you can go for a couple of different options black wolf bracers there's loads of different options you could get for just stamina or just agility uh wolf brace is a pretty easy pickup from a vendor and Ratchet where it give you four agility to stamina but if you can find like an of the monkey one they're very good pickup and they're only going to get really replaced by bindings of ccus face Smasher as I said let's go through the oneand weapons obviously we're not going to worry about the dagger for now head splitter bezel Basher these are all going to be expensive W drops bearded bone ax Diamond Hammer all of these are expensive World drops Mighty iron Hammer is going to do more damage but overall give you less stamina and things like that and as I said stamina was a stat that I was particularly interested in and face Mash is not that expensive especially compared to a mighty iron hour Hammer so for me that was one that I picked up I could also use it at level 16 which made leveling much easier kisx is kind of crazy for the attack power but it's so heavily camped and so expensive I would just never really bother basically any weapon here personally I would go for stats over anything else just because as a tank you're not going to have threat issues trust me we'll get there but you're not going to have threat issues so pretty much whatever you can get in your main hand is going to be fine just as much damage and as many stats or a good proc as possible on your Shield then you're very very very specifically looking for the highest amount of armor possible now Shield of Thorson is the highest amount of armor you can get on a shield outside of raid now it's also not too expensive so it's certainly something that is really to be picked up but if you don't want to spend money on it the commander Quest from Shadow fan keep is definitely a very good option gives you some stamina as well but you do lose a substantial amount of armor one of the other options I used for leveling was also the seed Cloud buckler I got that level 20 and it carried me all the way to 25 because the crest wouldn't drop um you have a couple of different options here but yeah I would be running Shield of thorsson as soon as I can personally gloves then I've gone for tough and leather gloves now technically things like the barbaric gloves are just as good more stamina little bit less agility but yeah you can pick up other options I mean technically Brawlers gloves are amazing if you want to spend the gold there's a couple of different options here but as you need the tough and leather anyway to turn it into the Epic and the Epic by the way is just the best option because of the 1% chance to hit and the on use and the bonus armor I just figured we'd go for it early the belt I've gone for def Kim belt again it's kind of the year one offense slot that I've gone for you can go for something like the emblazened belt which is one of the other ones I've looked at for the seven strength which is kind of crazy but I mean when you consider seven strength is going to give you 14 attack power so you're trading four agility for an extra two attack power um yeah it's just not really worth it for me and dekin so easy to pick up as well that it's definitely worth doing leggings of the Fang are crazy um yeah I wouldn't replace them with anything else person personally and I actually think they're phase biss warong boots then are a nice easy pickup eight agility six stamina you have got other options again in blazing boots more stamina less agility more agility oh equal agility feet of the links is more offensive if you want like pure damage you have got a couple of options but for me again warung boots are very easy to pick up so ones that I thought I'd run seala savanas and Silver Lane family seala the r rings that I would suggest stamina strength stamina they're just kind of great for what we're looking for and they're realistically quite easy to pick up in comparison to other things the I would also recommend as a shaman getting Rune of perfection ASAP because your taunt is a spell so your Earth shock is obviously your taor and that can be resisted you want to decrease the magical resistances of your spell targets by as much as possible so that your taor is as reliable as possible the extra stamina doesn't hurt either going to quickly go over then the full B setup which is this for me uh that's actually wrong uh stury Hood maximum amount of armor and stamina glowing fetish am six stamina six strength and now I'm starting to pick up more strength because I want to hit harder as well the Sentinel pauldrons just a crazy 10 stamina Sergeant's Cate gives us a bit of everything the hydroid curas gives us every stat that we could want and armor bindings of cak extra armor strength stamina uh AEL enforcer high damage strength stamina you can see a pattern here highest armor shield in the game in the ancient Arctic buckler the trinket that we talked about earlier there is an icon from The Raid that gives two MP5 which is not bad attack power and Shadow resistance now Shadow resistance is actually not bad for a tank either in the raid both of the Rings I mentioned I would keep till phase B warung Boots I'm actually keeping till phase b as well potentially I like Twilight Slayers foot pads are better but um I'm not going to take them over a DPS like they're just crazy for a DPS yeah there's nothing else I would really want over War song Boots to be honest leggings of the Fang again nothing else really replaces it dekin Bel it's my one aggressive slot you could pick up a little bit more stats here but I think I I just like it then obviously the gloves so that's my best list now let's talk game playay so how do I play Shaman tank in dungeons now my first priority is always making sure I'm trying to get four mobs at the time at a time because it's just the most efficient number for US molt and blast hits four targets which means keeping threat on those four is going to be very easy not only that but the more enemies that hit us the more Mana we're getting back the more damage we do the quicker the dungeon goes people will want to pull more than four mobs totally get that totally respect it that's where we use things like stoneclaw totem and fire Nova totem to do damage and pick up some of the aggro however my focus is always going to be trying to keep four targets meleeing me at one time and rotating through just to pick up like threat as need is now you can see in the footage I'm running round there was a Caster so I've moved the pack of mobs over to the Caster you could see there that my shield Mastery stacked up to five getting loads of Mana regenerated and you can see I'm absolutely pump at the moment now don't get me wrong please don't think that I'm trying to Big this up I'm level 25 in a Wailing Caverns and not everyone else in the group is 25 so yes I'm absolutely going to do more damage but you can just see the the extent of what Shaman is able to do now we only have 15% block so you are going to have some Manor issues unfortunately that's just the way it goes having a mage in the group and water walking or just refreshing your Manor in between pools is very suggestive did I'm very aggressive as a tank and like to pull fast so I try to minimize the usage of my spells you can see I'm literally trying to turn to get blocked in this footage just so that I'm taking well blocks so that I can get Mana back it's quite an aggressive way to play I like just trying to go quickly and this was the way to do it um but let's talk about it so what am I what spells am I using I'm using rank one flame shock on pretty much every mob I'm hitting and I'm trying to use that as much as possible it's the lowest Mana cost and gives Mor and blast refresh ticks at the same rate as higher levels higher level flame shock actually doesn't do much more damage and we're not there to do the maximum amount of damage in fact we would do more damage getting more Morton blast procs and usages by having the Mana than we would by casting higher flame shock ranks I do have the bigger rank flame shock on my bars just in case I ever hit a boss and single Target I might put a high rank one on there but for just most mobs I'm putting rank one up now earthshock is our torns now earthshock again you can see I have two different Earth shocks on my bars my I have a rank four Earth shock that hits exceptionally hard cost a lot of Mana but the threat it generates is just absurd aside from the taor aspect of it the threat itself is just amazing I also have a rank one Earth shock which is very very Manor efficient still counts as an interrupt still counts as a taunt just doesn't generate as much threat finally I have two lightning bolts on my bars I have a Mac rank lightning bolt and a low rank lightning bolt I use the rank one lightning bolt to pull ranged mobs quite often um especially while I was leveling was something I did quite a lot I used the max rank if I'm ever pre-c casting on a boss I use that as my pull timer quite often in things like a raid I'll stand there cast when I start casting that lightning bolt that's when other people can start casting I get the first hit gives me a little bit of threat and allows them to get their pre C in as well so and then Morton blast Morton blast is a cone in front of you and it's not the greatest spell to try and aim it doesn't have an animation which makes it very difficult to understand sometimes where it's actually going to hit but as you play more and more with it you'll get used to it typically I try to it's going to hit melee in front of you in a like 45 degree cone really it's not very big and can be quite difficult to aim like I said now lightning Shields I think it's a bait okay and not like some other people disagree with me but putting lightning Shield up in a dungeon between every pack you're going to run out of Mana so unbelievably quickly so for me personally I only ever use lightning Shield if I know that I'm going to pull more than four mobs the reason for this is because as they hit me and I'm generating threat off that lightning Shield I'm not worrying about trying to pick threat up on that Target I can keep moving to the next so it is something that I do use occasionally but I try not to use it very often because it's very very Manor expensive again in single Target and on raids I actually use water Shield anyway so we're just not using lightning shield in those situations so that's kind of all of the Spells really fire NOA totem is something you can use once again it's going to burn through your Mana quite quickly and this is one of the disadvantages with shamans is that they do struggle on Mana now let's talk totems I purely run strength of Earth totem right now and I very rarely drop it on anything but bosses in dungeons searing totem I again I'll drop it if I've got nothing else to press um it's quite a Manor efficient damage ability but it's just not something that I really think about pressing in dungeons I'll be honest with you if you want to be truly optimal you can drop it on every single boss you can probably drop it on every pack if you wanted to but it's going to again slow your group down because you're going to have to get Mana in between pulls now one thing that I really don't like about shamans and hopefully they end up changing is Rock bite duration it's currently 5 minutes long and if it falls off your threat falls through the floor um I mean you're so reliant on Mort blast anyway and your manner is an issue your auto attacks actually generates a lot of your Mana so you really got to make sure that if it does fall off you're going to be generating so much less M uh threat uh overall you can see I'm not really struggling for threat at all like I said you do a lot of damage and I've not had any threat issues other than Mages Mages can pull threat on you but that's just the way of it if you get a mage in your group that's absolutely pumping you want to make sure that as they're getting threat because they're probably going to get threat on their living flame and Arcane explosion Burns you want to make sure that you have an earthbind earthbind is one of the biggest Tools in your kit because if things are going bad you've pulled five mobs six mobs and the Healer low on Mana right earthbind walk away you've just slowed everything and kited right and you can do that all by your own kit you don't need anyone else to help you it's so good the amount of pulls I've recovered as a shame and tank because I can literally just kite forever is absurd and once you've got that massive threat lead because Morton blast is just so strong it's really hard for people to pull threat back off you so uh yeah overall like I said this is how I play in dungeons in raids I I again I switch Morton blast to Water Shield which helps I don't worry about keeping flame shock up so much uh and the reason for that is because it's cost a lot of Mana you're not necessarily going to get very much Mana back in a fight in a raid so quite often it will be rank one Earth shocks make sure you're hitting the boss because just Auto attacks will get you enough threat to pull off pretty much everyone um and yeah so the only things that really changes the fact you're going to be using water shield and if you are using water Shield the second it falls off just replay it like it has to be your highest priority because it's going to be a massive source of your Mana so that's kind of a gameplay perspective of Shaman tank there's anything you're not sure about let me know one of the things that I don't tend to use now but I did early on was ston skin totem it does help reduce your damage taken and it is something that if you're low geared will probably help but it's not really necessary um so yeah that's my shameer guide I've kind of lots information it's probably going to be a long video actually um I hope it helps if you have any questions please leave them in the comments anything I can do to help please let me know I know this is only for phase one and it's going to be a short phase and this is going to be all irrelevant at the end of the phase I totally get that um but I'm going to be trying to keep this up to date for the different phases I'm going to try and do an enhanced DPS one as well because we've just hit some 99 hundreds baby in the raid so uh yeah that's all to come like comment subscribe all that good stuff anything else let me know thanks for watching bye
