what's up guys I'm random Frank P recently I picked up a bunch of gaming keyboards under 50 a lot of them are trash but today's video is going to be the top five six with a bonus gaming keyboards 150 bucks that are definitely worth it so good options without breaking the bank if you see any of the meat you like I'll have them all listed for you in the description down below so you can check them out we'll do a brief overview of each one talk about the features what I like about them all that good stuff we'll save all the sound tests and stuff until the end of the video so we can have them all back to back to back to back instead of those unnatural pauses during each keyboard throughout the video first up today we've got a banger this is the wormir SK 75 a 75 keyboard which is pretty rare in the budget scene is gasket Mount and as you can see this is a fully transparent polycarbonate board from the casing to the keycaps this is no doubt an attention getter but the crazy RGB glow or you can just keep it a single static color but in terms of design and aesthetic this one is really really nice so checking it out the 75 layout means you have your basic 60 with the addition of a top function row and arrow keys as well this really is my preferred layout because it's still compact but you have those extra keys and I can't live without arrow keys so for me this is ideal the full polycarbonate case is a Butte though it's Crystal Clear which lets all the RGB glow on a whole new level and the PC keycaps are nice and thick which is just all around complements the board now I imagine this is a gasket Mount keyboard versus a standard tray Mount that means the top frame is not physically screwed down to the bottom frame of the board Instead This is actually clipped together so it's very mod friendly and this uses the gasket mounting method because you'll notice the eight silicone spacers on the sides of the board that gives it a really nice and soft Flex to the Keys when you're typing or gaming versus like a stiffer feel but speaking of silicone you have a real thick sandwich layer on underneath the plate between the PCB and a massive silicone pad underneath which can be seen through the bottom of the case this is to mute any of those micro vibrations really helps sort of like dampen and absorb those sounds still taking a look around on the top side of the keyboard you do have a Mac and PC switcher you'll see this on the keychron boards for example this Alters the functions for the appropriate OS so if that's always cool and we have an on off power button which is kind of odd since this is a wired keyboard but hey maybe if you don't want anyone like messing around at your setup while you're not there you can just power the keyboard off and they'll never know now real quick here's like the one and only modification I made to the keyboards in this video every other keyboard is left stock and unmodded so you know exactly what you're getting this is the one exception I'll save the sound test like I said towards the end you'll get a better idea but you want to touch on it real quick stock this keyboard comes with their very own custom WX switches they're a pre-lubed clicky tactile and I really don't like them so wormir calls him tactile but they way more resemble that of a blue clicky switch it really reminds me a lot of the old Razer green switches so I swapped out their stock switches and put in a completely transparent linear switch you know like your Aqua Kings new gather on North Poles jellyfish switches uh taxi ice candies stuff like that because not only does the clear housing the switch complement the entire polycarbonate board but the linears with the thick polycarbonate and the muting silicone inside it's gonna give it a really nice sound and feel like droplets when it's raining inside is a five pin North facing PCB so you can swap these with any switch if you're liking and once I swap switches I fell in love this is just too nice of a board for those stocks which is that they include the new switches also enhance the RGB even more and as you can see the built-in effects is just wild here and not only do they have a bunch of onboard effects but each effect can also be changed to a static color if you want you know like you're pulsing or wave effects still you can now have those but in a single color versus the 16.8 million color blend going on gaming on this was great again not to purposely repeat myself but after using these stock switches it just completely went from meh to awesome now with the swap no issues in terms of responsiveness or anything you know it's wired felt really nice to use with the gasket mounting and all the internal silicone really can't recommend this enough you can pick this up in the clear version like I have or a black clear option it fluctuates between 50 and 56 on Amazon but they also have a Bare Bones kit for 49.99 which doesn't make much sense because they're five dollars more you can at least you know get full use out of the polycarbonate keycaps so I just buy it pre-built then swap switches this is a great keyboard for the price an absolute steal next up from g-skill is their km 250 RGB keyboard as you can see we have a nice compact 65 layout with arrow keys and a volume knob this is essentially a pre-built tm680 keyboard if you guys remember I built one of those in the channel maybe two years ago but now you can see some of the mainstream gaming companies like g-skill got their hands on it and put out a slightly modified version here and really it's not too bad stock on the board we have our double shot putting PBT keycaps and while I feel like putting keycaps are a thing of like 2018 2019 it does allow for the RGB to shine more brightly and vividly since the sides of the keycaps are all transparent or translucent maybe even opaque I'm sure someone will fight me on it but they do complement the look of the board overall the board is primarily plastic to keep the price down overall however for a plastic board it feels and sounds pretty good inside it uses stock kale red switches which feel abnormally smooth there's like no no pinging to this which is why like I just said that felt too good for an all plastic keyboard inside it also has a five pin North facing hotspot PCB so if these switches aren't doing it for you feel free swap them out to any switch of your liking but honestly these kales they feel way too good this board is definitely a rare exception where it's a no mods needed one that's why I'm recommending it because like I said I'm familiar with this case the tm680 so it's not brand new but it is a super user-friendly format you know not taking up too much space you still have your arrow keys plus the volume dial which is always a big plus but the fact you can just buy it and use it right away without needing to Tinker with the switches add any foam or anything that's a big plus and the fact is only 39.99 that is wild I remember when I built it with my custom version I think it was just around like 95 or something I thought that was a good price F me this is 40. so I'm not the biggest fan of G skill I feel like as a game I mean company they're pretty bottom tier you know but I gotta give them props because for a pre-built keyboard for the price really impressed me all right now next up you may have just saw this in an episode of Cool Tech under 50 on the channel That is this red dragon k621 Orris tkl and yes this greatly resembles the Logitech g915 tkl which is 200 this looks identical for 50 bucks so it's no doubt this is a clone of the g915 but Red Dragons hitting us at a quarter of the price and the k6 21 tkl is honestly right up there in terms of features it may honestly be the better buy for most people and I know some of you may scoff with the idea of a cloned product but honestly when they can pull it off at a 75 discount I will definitely give them their props because let's face it two hundred dollars for a gaming keyboard is a lot of money so why not save it with this so checking it out it features the same Wireless and slim low profile tkl design with the white and brushed aluminum construction always looks sleek on the top right side of the board we have the knurled volume dial just like on the g915 and to the left of that are five dedicated multimedia buttons great for playback control on the Fly then over on the top left side of the board we have four dedicated macro buttons with a macro recorder which just eliminates the need for any software here you can record and assign macros instantly Lee and obviously having that ability is great for gamers of any kind who want to just pull off a quick macro in game now one of the things that stuck out to me right away when I powered it on for the first time was how much brighter the RGB lights are on the k621 over the Logitech variant the RGB not only shines up and illuminates the characters on the keycaps but the RGB lighting fills that aluminum top plate for this smooth RGB glow across the entire top of the board which it just makes it really pop it also has a bunch of onboard lighting effects saved you can toggle between and switch up again all without needing software although you can download Red Dragon software if you want to customize it further but the onboard effects should be you know good enough for most of you now here's one of the main differences between the two the k621 here uses a hot swap low profile Cherry stem switch while the g915 uses low profile chalk switches that are non-removable this bothered a ton of people who have the Logitech because it wasn't compatible with other keycap sets if you lost a cap or you might broke one but also it wasn't hot swap now on the k621 it's the exact opposite you can swap these out for any other three pin low profile switch and since the stem on these is the standard Cherry cross you can use other keycap sets with this if you want to customize it now I do want to point out the low profile switches are not the same as a standard three or five pin switches so you can't just pop in like gather on yellows for example but you can still find other compatible low profile switches online to use and the switches that they do use are a red linear switch at just 12 millimeters in height and they actually have only 1.2 millimeters so super quick super smooth and when it came to actually you know gaming and using it you do have to select your input mode first so you can connect up to five devices at once with this three Bluetooth one Wireless with their 2.4 gigahertz dongle and one USB mode you do set with function one through five to pick your mode so when mine first died on me and went to plug it in and use it wired but I had to First enable the USB mode with function 5 and I feel like a lot of the negative reviews of people claiming this doesn't connect easily they probably missed this part because I had no issues whatsoever no connection issues using this really felt on par with the Logitech model but the low profile switches here just really felt great for gaming since they actually had only 1.2 millimeters you really feel that quick input in game and just really no complaints on my end so again for a wireless keyboard This slim low profile that has all the features it has for a quarter of the price Logitech variant this is a really really impressive pickup for just 50 dollars they also make this in a Black Version if you don't like the white and aluminum and it also comes in a tiny compact 60 variant as well so let's check this out this is the red dragon k632 Pro with pretty much all the same features as this bigger brother but now in a 60 form factor now personally I don't think I've come across keyboard that is this small slim and lightweight before it just it throws you for a loop when you first hold it it's like 14 ounces which is wild however just because that's small doesn't mean it skimps out on their features either this is actually the main reason I made this video this was like an Amazon recommended product that I saw and it blew me away that it was under fifty dollars so that made me search you know for more worthy Options under 50 as well so this keyboard's the reason why this video exists so anyways returning is that same volume wheel on the top right hand side of the board with the dedicated multimedia buttons right next to it and also on the top left are those same four macro buttons with the macro recorder as well these are that soft touch kind of button and the RGB Lighting on the board doesn't extend to these up top however they do light up when you press them to let you know what it actually registered construction here is that same brushed aluminum top frame with the plastic housing this obviously black versus white and since it is that darker aluminum the RGB is definitely not as bright in person since it's not reflecting as nicely off the white top like we saw in the tkl version has the same RGB options though just doesn't pop as much visually like I said but again inside the same low profile red linear switches that are hot swap complements the low profile keycaps here and we have the same five connectivity modes again it's pretty much identical as Big Brother however if you are missing the arrow keys function W lets you use was as arrow keys for input this has been on sale for 45 dollars also comes in a blue colorway so red dragon's really giving you all the options for layout and color options some really good stuff here now sticking with another low profile keyboard wasn't intentional it was just one of the better ones out of the batch that I ordered like I said this from Key move is the k68se 60 keyboard although it's very clearly a 65 keyboard they got their own title wrong yeah they literally call it 60 but it's very clearly a 65 five percent keyboard with their 68 key layout and the board definitely looks unique it has these grooves in the cases where it cuts up towards the space bar you have the rounded edges on the sides I dig it it's definitely different it's also fully RGB backlit with a 360 degree RGB light strip around the entire body just giving it more glow on your desktop as it shines outward and the RGB for the keys and the light strip can all be controlled independently as well so you can have different effects in different colors going on for each of those zones now one of the differences to this board are their keycaps these are a DSA low profile keycap and DSA is definitely much different than your cherry or OEM keycap with the all-white board and the shine through characters there are some silver accents for like the function keys on these PBT keycaps which just really looks sleek all in all I'd say now what's interesting is inside they're using a standard red linear mechanical switch even though it's not a low profile switch it still kind of has that feel do Duty low profile keycaps this is however not a hotspot PCB So when you buy this you can't swap them out you're stuck with their mechanical Reds but all in all I really like a DSA cap it has a slight curve up top for your fingertips and the cap itself I'd say is more uniform with the rest of the board versus cherry or OEM profile where there's a height differences to the rows this just feels really nice to use no issues I do wish it was hot top like I said a lot of other keyboards on this list and in this price Ranger hot swap that's the main sort of sacrifice here however for 39.99 kinda tough to complain I will also say though this probably is the most pingy and plasticky sound of a keyboard due to the materials of the inner construction but we'll save that for the sound test coming up in a little bit but again 39.99 and then lastly today this is kind of like a runner-up like a bonus option from a more popular brand on the list is still serious this is their Apex 3 tkl a nice comp compact board with arrow keys macros volume wheel for forty five dollars pretty nice right however the cash here is that it's a rubber Dome keyboard now yes I too would never pick this over a mechanical keyboard but believe it or not I get a ton of people commenting on the channel and asking about non-mechanical offerings so I picked up a few rubber Dome keyboards out there I know rock cat has a few this was just the best out of the bunch checking it out it does look on par with the rest of their Apex lineup in terms of design but this is an all plastic board versus the aluminum frame that they have on their more expensive options up in the top right is a volume wheel that can be actuated in you have a little tactile button below that as well for playback control then below that you'll see M1 through M6 keys this is where things like your home key insert page Keys would be so these can be assigned to six different macros in their software if you want to remap them as dedicated macros but without sugar coating it any further popping off a keycap shows you the internal base where you have the soft plastic membrane and the RGB Illuminating being all diffused then you'll see the plastic tube for the rubber Dome switches now again you're probably familiar with the rubber dome right maybe your first keyboard is rubber Dome sort of has like a starter board maybe this will be your first keyboard who knows the keycap is attached to the male end of the plastic tube that pushes the membrane down into the board registering the key they call them whisper quiet gaming switches and yeah sure you know for membrane they're pretty quiet for the most part but it's just that mushy rubbery feel it's actually not the worst thing in the world you know it feels better than it sounds I'd argue but you don't have all the advantages that a mechanical switch has like speed and precision now one of the pluses to this is the fact that it's water and dust resistant since it doesn't have any like internal gaps leading to the inside of the PCB of the board say you're sloppy you're eating at your desk a lot you're knocking over your drink this will not get damaged to that because again the internals aren't ever exposed that membrane covers up all so yeah that's a plus and also unlike other rubber Dome keyboards out there this board is 100 anti-ghosting so you can press as many keys as you want and they'll all register While most membrane keyboards are like eight key rollover so again for 45 dollars not the worst deal in the world it's one of the better membrane boards that I've tried and while I personally wouldn't buy this I do understand there are people out there who don't like mechanical boards or switches and perhaps this is a good starter board for somebody or a board for someone who tends to damage their peripherals from spilling Mountain Dew all over the place alright so that was the Roundup for the top six keyboards under 50 bucks but like I said we still have the sound test to go through all six they're going to be stock unmodded unless noted otherwise like I said with the wormir version where I swap the switches but I'll still give you an idea of how the stock switches sound during that sound test and I'll put some more general info on the screen during the sound test so you have something interesting to look at while you hear how it sounds so all right guys six gaming keyboards under fifty dollars really great options without breaking the bank I was pretty impressed overall like I said I would say I purchased around 15 total keyboards that were under 50. while the majority of them were junk these top six were just head and shoulders Above the Rest out there they really are pretty solid options for a pretty affordable price so like I said before I'm all listed for you in the description down below so you can check them out if you're interested and let me know down below what's your favorite one which one would you pick up if you had to buy a new keyboard and hopefully you are and this video helped you out if it did give this video a big thumbs up to show your support feel
