microtransactions bloated file sizes and a seemingly unwinable race for photo realistic Graphics one of the biggest offenders is the biggest genre in gaming the first-person shooter millions of players are sick of modern Shooters embracing these awful Trends and are looking towards older games to revitalize their attitud towards gaming as a whole other players simply can't afford to keep up with the hardware demands of new releases so they want classic games that won't require spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on upgrades the games that I'm sharing today are great for solving both these issues my name is Buu and these are my favorite shooters that won't break your budget or your spirit the first game in this list is the iconic Counter-Strike Source an ancestor to Counter-Strike 2 this entry in the Beloved series features many of the signature mechanics that fans expect such as a weapon economy devastating head shots and high tension matches player run servers both the vanilla and custom ones are what keep the game alive and well after 20 years if you want classic CS action there are servers with standard modes and rules if you want all the fun and satisfying Gunplay mechanics without the usual rules there are servers running a limitless selection of user made maps and modes frequently on sale source is a steal for anyone frustrated by the multiplayer borrows the most from Cod 4 with creative class killstreaks and perks making their second ever appearances however the mode that made me put this game on this list over other cods is the Zombies mode originally just a small Easter egg for completing the main story zombies in World at War is very very simple yet addictive the maps are fan favorites with many saying that these are still the scariest zombies maps to date where the mode really shines though are the custom maps in the speedrunning slh high round Community these things bring new challenges and goals to the game mode when players do eventually get bored at $20 this is the most expensive game I'm including I do recommend a check for sales on the other games as well but this one needs a sale the most besides that it's still a great overall package for both solo players and players that want to play with friends halflife is a franchise that many consider to be the best in all of gaming these games follow Gordon Freeman a physicist trying to overcome dangerous environments the government and alien invasions the pacing of the action and the puzzle solving aspect form a great shooter on their own but the true magic of the series is its storytelling method you never lose control of Gordon at any point all the cut scenes are rendered in game and the writing is top-notch for both the plot and the characters finally there's no excess Hut elements hold the player's hands the player must figure out where to go but the levels are designed to allow the game to subtly nudge you towards the Next Room the immersion that comes from all these elements of Storytelling is second to none and it's why these games are universally recognized as masterpieces on top of being fantastic and affordable games in their own right the countless fan mods and remakes for the series provide endless opportunities to play halflife how you want to play it another valve shooter franchise makes this list in the form of Left for Dead this pair of Co-op Zombie Survival Games is what many companies have tried to replicate and fell short of the zombies are a real threat but you and your crew which is composed of very engaging characters have the tools to handle it if you play it right the different zombie types forced to use different strategies and accurately prioritize the threats this series while it can be enjoyed in single player is best played with friends you shouldn't take these games too seriously though to get the most fun out of your experience I suggest using Steam Workshop Creations to customize your weapons enemies characters sound effects and pretty much any part of the game this combo of playing with friends and workshop mods will have you laughing harder than you ever have in any other shooter game I would suggest only buying one of these games instead of both since they are so similar but that's entirely up to you these games are usually pretty cheap and go on sale pretty frequently so keep an eye out for them and hopefully pick one up this game is Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 a tactical 1/3 person shooter that follows a counterterrorism campaign Vegas 2 is an 8 to 10 hour story that keeps the plot simple but the tension High the enemies are smart and they're not Stormtroopers so they will kick you around if you don't play it right it's not as punishing as a Souls game but it's not a walk in the park Vegas 2 is best for players that want more challenge but don't hate themselves enough to go play Elden ring now one true stand out of this game is the kit selection killing enemies and performing certain actions level you up which allow you to unlock new gear that you can equip on any Mission want to carry 10 blocks of C4 in a hostage Rescue Mission I can't say recommend it but the game does not PR vent you from doing it terrorist Hunt is an additional mode that lets you play more missions and try out new strategies tactics and loadouts the multiplayer and Co-op modes were fun but online support has been discontinued as of 2021 there are third party options to play online still but that's at your own risk Vegas 2 is a great experience for tactical shooter fans that don't want to take it too [Music] seriously now that we've gotten through the main list I wanted to add some honorable mentions that I didn't get to dive into for one reason or another I suggest checking out Insurgency from 2014 ravenfield and fist full of frags Insurgency is a modern military game that emphasizes slow pacing and realistic damage models ravenfield is a single player sandbox that lets you fight with any weapons Maps characters and modifiers that you can find on Steam Workshop Fistful of frags is a goofy multiplayer action game set in the wild west now these didn't make
