what's up everybody this is unit 1999 here so today I want to make a pretty different video from my usual content because one of my favorite artists an artist that I really look up to made a course an anime sculpting course on Colosso and recently coso actually reached out to me if I would like to review the course for them I was like yeah absolutely so they provided me with the course and also two other different courses that are absolutely incredible too okay so this video is sponsored by color so if you don't know what color so is it's an online course website they have courses on illustration animation character sculpting visual effects Etc they even have courses on programming cooking and makeup if you're into that one of the things that I love about Colosso is that their courses are made by industry professionals so you'll actually learn from people that are actually working in the industry and because their courses are hosted on their website you can actually learn anytime anywhere at your own pace before we get further I want to let you know that I have a video in the work of sculpting a character from a sphere this my shiranui by dhk currently it still looks really rough well this is a block out really but I don't have a lot of time to work on this so this video will take a while to make and that's why I recommend you to subscribe so you'll get the notification when the video is finished and uploaded okay so let me start with this so this course is one of the most in-depth courses on character sculpting that I ever took so far it's absolutely packed with information and this course is called Turning anime characters into 3D printable models the instructor is Juana Kunia one is a elite 3D character artist at primary Studio he is a very talented guy I mean look at his portfolio on our station it's absolutely crazy and I actually have worked with him he is a huge part of my career helping me with feedback on my Scopes and overall a really nice guy so yeah about the course this course has 32 videos with a total of I think it's like 28 hours worth of content and he is using zbrush and marmosa tool bag but I don't think that really matters because a lot of knowledge that he shares can be applied to different softwares too I mean I use blender for a lot of my work and I still learn a lot and also included with this course you will get a zebras custom UI anime patch match custom header brush and a lot more and moving on to stuff that I learned from the course is that proportion and the anatomy of anime figures and real human are way different the no I mean seriously I used to try the scope an anime model with like this realistic human anatomy hot I sculpt every Boon Landmark every muscle definition every skin imperfection and it just doesn't work like it looks really weird because in anime the anatomy are much more simplified and a lot of the time it's actually really smooth um anime models are much more focused on the flow of things instead of like you know incredibly detailed Anatomy and the other things too is that cloth sculpting on anime models doesn't have to be realistic and it's actually a pretty funny story uh where I was working on anime models and I got feedback a couple of times from Wanda that my clothes my my clothes sculpting are too realistic so so like I need to simplify them down because what I learned is that I think the most important thing is not how realistic the clothes are is that again the clothes have to flow well with the character at least that's what I think um and there's a lot more stuff that he teaches like how it's called hair for anime figures oh you know making an appealing post how to present your scalp better how to make a ready print model like it's so much valuable information so with this course you will learn the important settings and preferences that professional artists frequently used to build 3D anime characters as well as the skills and tips to achieve faster and more efficient results learn how to break down 2D Concepts into simpler shapes and work to improve each part figuring out an efficient faster way to scope characters without losing any quality is a crucial skill when working in 3D modeling sculpting her surfaces is one of the essential lessons about modeling and sculpting you will encounter hard surfaces in a vast majority of characters and objects you'll build in the future and in this course he teaches this as well um sharing multiple preferred ways to render learn to export setup and complete post-production work in paramset tool bag 4. and you will get a demonstration of cutting process to prepare your 3D models for at-home 3D printing discover how to cuts and export print ready models for home 3D printing yes another course that I join is 2D action animation starter pack by Mary Kim and you are probably asking who wait what why are you watching a 2T animation course so here's here's what I believe right I think the knowledge of actually learning to this stuff is too great to be ignored and I'm actually currently as when this video is uploaded I'm working on my uh college thesis and final project and it's not a 3D stuff it's actually a 2d anime short flow and working on that short film has been paying for but also an incredible learning experience especially like animating a turning head because it's not 3D so I gotta like imagine what it looks like every frame as the head is turning and this stuff actually helped me when I'm in 3D like I can't really explain but I became a more confident when I'm sculpting in 3D and the last course that I joined is this course by Ninja and it's called phone 3D character modeling using blender and this one is more kind of like a Western stylized character oh I like her vibrant and expressive presentation of her model uh I think this course is more geared towards people that are you know have a grasp of blender but not sure of where to take a step in character creation uh one thing though this one is not in English previews too are in English but this one is not so yeah but even though this one is not in English they have the English subtitle and I think all other courses has English subtitles too so the English courses have the English subtitles and the non-english courses also have the English subtitles so let's talk about the pros and cons of Colosso so let's talk about the pros first so they have a lot of in-depth learning material you buy once and you get unlimited access and you can learn at your own pace uh you know because the videos are hosted online and the instructors are from industry professionals and now the cards uh if you're using a browser you can only watch the course you install a software called calls colors so I didn't know what colors is maybe it's a popular software that I just have no idea about but as someone who hates installing random software in my computer it is pretty annoying and the other thing to do is that the maximum speed of the video player is only two times iOS it could be more than that because some parts of the courses can get a little repetitive and I'd like to watch it at more than two times speed but it's not available so yeah okay so that's the pros and cons and special for you guys watching this video coloso is giving a discount code for their courses and I'll put the information down below okay so that is it guys I'll put the link to the courses uh in the description below and also I just want to say thank you for 50k subscribers uh anything about that I would reach this number uh like it's just crazy to me like I couldn't do this without your support So once again thank you so much and see you on my next video [Music]
