he's mark Simpson I'm from guy Drucker Nebraska about 640 miles north of here and this is our fourth year here my son Dylan and I are running my what they call Suruga machine uh-huh second version the first one was a pedal version right here last year that was pretty efficient but what did you find with the pedal machine the battle machine we got we took last year well you don't want to lose any of don't don't miss even the one pointers so when you say okay now to explain it's not motor driven or battery driven empowered that's what villains for this stainless steel or alone well that's lighter you did a professional-looking job it looks great that's broke yes an aluminum glider looks like you've got legs for loved one it is it important to have it level yeah absolutely I see your water is level and that that's what you could use 10 and there you go this is a deal we made it's only about four inches deep there okay it's got these fingers that stick down in there okay kind of based on the the wash plant that's out in front of the African style rotary wash yeah as we sit here and turn this you know then he feeds it in on that side and we got it it actually dumps in there and it goes out in the middle there's a tube in the middle good man yeah and as this material works its way in because the outside is higher than the inside it will work its way to the inside which we've had clear water and nice once between gravel yeah be able to see it that's all right I can see the action so those are not solid paddles over like right for for there oh I see them you got tines sticking down at water stirred up there and that goes through the material event let's it called the heavies fall down through it right up a little bit yeah just falls down through the center oh yeah I see Centers lower so as that stuff works and then you know the heaviest will be be down in the bottom of this okay it's just a solid end it's about that deep reaches yourself so it works on the principle that the lampa right is less dense or lighter and the diamonds and other heavy minerals are are denser and so you're working on density so where is your light material go the light material is what floats across the top of here he goes down through these holes into the bottom of this tub I see and then we got to scoop it out every once in a while and the heavier stuff stays in you know because that centerdale is about two inches up right and the outside is four inches yes the material comes in out here those fingers keep it all loosened up uh-huh unless the diamonds go to the bottom and that's what the light stuff works its way across the top and goes down the center okay all right well this our first year with it we got a little bit done with it yesterday cuz I took the trommel out already because this is our last day here but yeah we were so the trommel sits on top of this yeah yeah this thing comes right off of here okay oh I see yeah yeah and now for people who aren't familiar a trommel is a rotary drum it's a drum and a lot of people just have single ones where they just put it in there and they tumble it and it washes all the silt and stuff off the silt falls down in the in the bottom of the tub mine is a dual drum I have a quarter inch screen on the inside drum 16 mesh on the outside uh-huh so it has 2 discharges on it and it pumps it and it sorts that according to size the water gets all the water and silt goes out the bottom back into the tub to be recycling and one chute dumps everything larger than a quarter of an inch which we just look at on the table knock it right out across it the other one is everything between 1/16 inch and 1/4 inch and that's basically what we run through Suruga and work this machine right here and then we finish this off with this Iruka by hand but it's fantastic how about I think it's a challenge to build something like that and that's kind of where I'm at right build things that are yeah don't have to do it myself I'll build something to do it for me right it's a power but yes and when you talked about the trommel and pump now it's still not a battery pump or a motorized no obviously barrel pump like you would use - yes okay so you crank they're actually deaf pumps are for deaf fluid for diesel okay yeah right has their hand crank but I put a hub on them with the sprocket and they're mounted on the side and then the shaft yes shaft right turn there's got a pulley that takes a belt around the drum of the patron right and then sprocket that runs out to a shaft that has two pumps on it growing we all had one pump on it last year when we brought it here another one on it for more water and you know great well I'm sorry I didn't get you filmed yesterday so we could see the trommel as well but go ahead and look this Iruka some and I might ask you some more questions about it so what is your volume then like the trommel works pretty good we had a little bit of an issue this year we had to get a filter systems put on the pumps because it was so much silt that it was going into the pumps like which made it a really hard to turn yeah it was eating the pumps I'm pretty good ride and while there's bugs to work out any process in any news I can't duplicate this kind of material at home torque with and we live on 640 miles away yes so you couldn't test it at home before you can write this feels unreal oh yeah no you got a good record you know at first we were at the the East drain last year we didn't have to have any filters on at all yeah and then this year West rain and definitely got to have filters and so you're digging here in the West drain and you bring it up here and wash it yeah at least it's not too far to carry yeah that's the whole reason the building they just run the hose and fill the tank there and not having to carry the buckets on me the first two years we're here we can buckets a long ways I'm Washington you can do it and these the trommel and this is wide enough this built office expects from the washtubs means I could put this in the wash tub oh he'll and say in the troughs under the wash pavilion yep yeah okay in there never have done it because well is crowded up there and yeah limited space and limited space and I don't want to take up a bunch of space yeah yeah well you got your own unlimited elbow room out here yeah want to want to stop and and ask how it's working of stuff yes and yeah one out here in the field you get one or two here and there mm-hmm the wasp it's nonstop all day absolutely you know wouldn't get anything done that is a big difference yeah so yeah yeah well I can see it by the action is how it's working and yeah this it's it's a slow action he sticks his arm under and once in a while and he can feel to see how fast it's pulling up yeah and then when you do have to dump it how do you dump it we got a and we have an armed right down here when you pull this okay oh all right yeah that helps I say and then we're shoveling the the silt at the same time fantastic good deal all right the trommel it depends on how concentrated the gravel is in the in the buckets but the sulukim machine last year we were running a five-gallon bucket through it in about three minutes and overall it was pretty fast just about us passes we use just peddling you know you can control the speed yes and it has adjustments on it so you can control the pulse rate by how fast you pedal and it's which there's a video out there yeah I saw it is a very short one but it doesn't really show the mechanics of it mhm I got a lot of different materials in there it pushes the water up right now it's kind of based off of the well I've seen like lights here in a Savannah mining mineral jig or some right and it pulls like that and it was really efficient we tested the tailings and there was absolutely no no heavies in there they're excellent it was just shot in the center right in there everything else was in the right you you want to trap all your heavies and get rid of all the light material that's why we it's all about concentration so are you taking some concentrates home to look through oh yeah take some more gravel home - even though we've read it through in the center of this yesterday so it's not a hundred percent efficiency like the bike was but well even the best process is not a hundred percent yeah you can get get close anyway yeah well I know this is your last day and you got work to do and goals to accomplish so I'll let you go but I thank you very much for your time and I appreciate your invention and all the work that went into it and I hope to read the news about the diamond on that right well I I find most of my diamonds at home in the gravel that I wash here and then take home and you can look through it on a rainy day and when you're here you need to process as much as you can use ax exactly hit as much as you can done here and then take the center's home with you you take one one one five-gallon bucket full of washed gravel home a day but if you do thirty gallons or thirty buckets of and just take the heavy the center that's your one bucket absolutely one bucket of water gravels I'd rather take one bucket of concentrate absolutely yeah yeah much better Tim especially when you have a long way to haul it because you're all the way over here at the West rain yeah exactly well thank you very much for your time and for showing us your invention and how it works it gives other people some ideas you may thanks
