The 10 Worst TV Shows Of 2022

yep it's that time of the year guys we took a look at the best TV shows of 2022 all the precious gems that Grace our screens this year so it's only fair to now take a look at the ones that didn't make us smile all that much they made us cry because they were bad yeah this year had some real stinkers making this list was way harder than I thought it would be hell I didn't even think I would finish this video in time but I did because I'm good at my job but between the shitty sci-fi the tired teen dramas and this current trend of making Thrillers that barely have a story we've been throwing some real bad [ __ ] in 2022 and I really had to revisit a lot of things to make sure I didn't forget anything but I got your backs guys we're gonna do this now as always this is my list my opinion you may agree you may not it's totally fine and we probably haven't watched the same shows this year anyway hey maybe leave your own list in the comments it would be really fun for me to go through them and I would probably know which shows to avoid if I haven't seen some of them and also very important disclaimer at the time of making this video I have not watched Emily in Paris season 3 or Gossip Girl season 2 yet however for different reasons I am going to watch both of them and they will both get their own videos but with all that out of the way sit back grab a Kit Kat and relax it is time to count down the top 10 worst TV shows of 2022 starting with number 10 how I met your father okay I'm gonna be honest I feel kind of bad putting this show here because it's too easy way too easy I really didn't want to put it in here but every single time I take a look at the shows I watched this year this one consistently leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth after eight years of weight because yes this show was initially announced in 2014 when the original show was coming to an end and then they shot a pilot that was canceled and then they revived the project years later after eight years of weight I do not know how they came up with something this unremarkable how I met your father is just the definition of a desperate cash grab this show just screams we needed an IP for our streaming service it is so empty and devoid of any personality it just feels like a watered-down version of the original show that didn't understand why its predecessor work and I wanted this show to work this cast is so cute Hillary Duff Francia Raisa Josh Beck Layton Meester and Kim Cattrall as the future version of Sophie like it's a good team here this could have been really good but unfortunately the show ended up falling flat it's not funny it's bland most of it is boring to the point where it just feels sad and desperate it miserably tries to Nostalgia bait you with old sets and with an incredibly cringe-worthy Robin scherbotsky Cameo I'm sorry seeing Kobe smolders back in this role should have been the most exciting thing about this show but it just feels awkward and forced just like most of the performances in this show it just doesn't work how I met your father was renewed for a season two though so who knows a lot of comedies on television have an awkward first season before really finding their footing but for now yeah this show is just a soulless Revival with no personality that relies way too much on cringe callbacks to try and convince you that it's as good and cozy as its predecessor it's a big nope for me next number nine inventing Anna introducing a category that I call shows I did not finish because I love myself just enough we have Netflix's inventing Anna brought to you by Shonda Rhimes I didn't really know what to expect from this show I just knew that Julia Garner was playing Anna Sorkin so I was on board Julia Garner is a [ __ ] gifted actress and I was really excited to see what she did with that role but God damn it this show is so [ __ ] boring Julia Garner gives a very solid performance and this show does not deserve if you don't know when I started watching this show I was doing this fun thing with you guys where I was live reacting to it on my Instagram stories which by the way follow me on Instagram but I quickly stopped doing it because I just wanted to go to sleep man the show is unbelievably Bland and weirdly uneventful considering the story it's based on the story of Anna Orkin is fascinating and it had the potential to be a fast-paced anxiety-inducing thriller with some wit to it I have no idea how they managed to take this weird story and turn it into this mediocre snooze fest with zero personality I did have some good laughs between the cringy dialogue and Anna klumsky's god-awful performance as Vivian Ken but I just couldn't get through it man the storytelling is all over the place they focus way too much on everyone that isn't Anna like the entire show is about all the parts of the real story that aren't interesting and aside from Julia Garner everyone seems like they're sleepwalking in this show it looks like nobody wanted to be there the dialogue is corny as hell which admittedly you gotta expect from Shauna Rhimes being corny is kind of her thing and don't come at me yelling about how to get away with murder to give her some credit there's a very big misconception that Shonda Rhimes was the short Runner of How To Get Away With Murder but she never was she was a producer on the show because it was made under her company but she wasn't the showrunner and she did not write a single episode of it so yeah corny is kind of her thing but here it's corny to a degree that makes you want to watch the show on mute none of the characters stand out everything is too surface level it's boring as hell and overly dramatized I just couldn't do it and by now you guys know me I am willing to sit through some truly awful [ __ ] in order to bring you a fun video but there is a certain kind of boring that I simply cannot deal with I tapped out in the middle of episode 5 and I never look back number eight The Time Traveler's Wife Next on the list we have what is probably the most Dead on Arrival show to come out this year The Time Traveler's Wife an adaptation of a science fiction romance novel that came out in 2003 about a love story that happens in the wrong order because it includes a man who suffers from a genetic disorder that causes him to travel through times sporadically I'm just gonna put it simply if you want to have a conversation about bad shows that wasted great Concepts I think this show would make the top 10 list I love Rose Leslie and Theo James is not a bad actor and they're sort of the only good part of the show but the rest is so bad that they honestly can't save it I initially wanted to make a video about this show this summer but the truth is I found it so tedious that by the end of it I just didn't have anything to say about it I couldn't even come up with a joke like it's a show that is bad but in a way that's not fun you don't even want to laugh at it you just want to give it a hug and tell it it's going to be okay and that at least it tried except it didn't it didn't try every single lazy narrative decision this show could have made it made this show is the narrative equivalent of Murphy's Law literally I watched the first episode of The Time Traveler's Wife and then immediately went on my Instagram story to say it wouldn't survive its first season in a couple of the shows like three fans messaged me to say I didn't know what I was talking about and I just gotta hand them a giant Uno reverse card because I was right this show was canceled so fast you'd think it was made by Shane Dawson HBO [ __ ] terminated it the second the season ended they couldn't wait to get rid of it audiences didn't stick around for it you could feel the interest dying week to week and honestly I kind of get it it's stale it's uninteresting it doesn't know how to make itself compelling so it tries to boost the story Within obsessive amount of melodrama and a sense of humor so flat and so forced you'd think this show was written by James Corden the characters suck none of them have any chemistry including the two lovers despite their individual Charisma they feel weirdly Miss gas in their roles the acting is not bad per se but it also doesn't stand out in any way which is fine but given that the show is completely flat at least you could have had a good performance in there the dialogue tries to be funny bantery quippy but it just comes across as awkward and creepy most of the time overall it's just a very big bowl of air that isn't nearly as Charming as it seems to think it is it could have been great though they'd really dropped the ball with this one number seven Blockbuster [ __ ] me man this one pisses me off a show by the writers of Brooklyn Nine-Nine starring Melissa fumero and Randall Park that's such a Surefire cocktail how the [ __ ] did they mess this up the concept is super simple it's a show about the very last Blockbuster store and the people who work in it I'm not saying this should have been the greatest comedy of all time but at least an easily watchable little chuckle series the ingredients were right there I really don't understand how it turned out so bad the whole show feels like a never-ending shitty Saturday Night Live skit it feels like a video College Humor would have made like 12 years ago except it's a way too long it's lifeless it's not funny and honestly despite the fact that it has actors I really like everyone is really bad in Blockbuster usually when a trailer for a comedy looks kind of blind I give it the benefit of the doubt because it's hard to make trailers for comedies but no no not this show this show is just as bad as his trailer if not worse the characters don't work the acting doesn't work the writing doesn't work like yeah this one was a disappointment on every front for pretty much everybody and it is no surprise that it was canceled by Netflix just six weeks after its release nothing else to say about it so yeah let's move on number six the book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi yes I know I'm cheating this is two shows not one but they're part of the same franchise so I'll allow it for myself because I couldn't pick between the two if we're gonna talk about the most disappointing entries of the Year these are probably the most surprising to me in the last couple of years I have watched myself slowly fall out of love with Star Wars which kind of hurts my childhood self a little bit Star Wars went from this legendary film series that marked Cinema history to a somewhat Hit or Miss franchise that now has more misses than hits and feel feels incredibly desperate because it seems like Disney's strategy with this universe is throw everything at the wall and hope that something sticks and yes I did talk about Endor in my best shows of the Year video but it is one out of three live-action Star Wars series to come out in 2022. despite Endor being really good Star Wars has really lost its magic and to me there is no better example for this than the book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi the book of Boba Fett was the promise of redemption for a beloved character that had been done dirty in the past he was reintroduced after almost 40 years in one of the most badass ways imaginable in another show that set up his own series with Glory but in the end all this show accomplished was taking away all of the mystery and mysticism around Boba Fett to reveal that he's actually a pretty boring guy with no personality the story was unbelievably boring it introduces a large cast of characters they just refuse used to flesh out and by the end of it you don't care about anybody and the show successfully convinces you to not care about Boba Fett anymore Ming now when is pretty good in her role but aside from being boba's silent sidekick she's not given much to do now yes we can point out that the book of Boba Fett had two [ __ ] fantastic episodes except they were not about Boba Fett they were about the Mandalorian literally the only episodes of book of Boba Fett that were good were the two episodes where Boba Fett does not appear and nothing has to do with his story the two episodes in question are more of an interlude between the Mandalorian season 2 and the upcoming season 3 that's coming out in a couple months so you can barely count them as being actually part of the show I'm just so annoyed this show was supposed to be John Wick in the Star Wars universe but instead we got the Godfather 3 in space and like if it had been written by a 10 year old Obi-Wan Kenobi was only worth watching for the 42nd confrontation between Obi-Wan and Vader in the finale where they actually get to have a conversation but the rest of the show is unfortunately a complete waste of time and despite having the great Ewan McGregor back as Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen back as Anakin and playing Darth Vader 15 years after their last appearance in the franchise it just wasn't enough to save the atrocious [ __ ] they had to play with I'm sorry I really wanted to like it but Obi-Wan Kenobi is just a bad story it feels cheap the characters are all kind of stupid a lot of them are useless and they all make decisions that straight up do not make sense just feels like they didn't really have a story to tell but they hope Nostalgia would be enough for people to love it and same goes for Boba Fett like I said Star Wars has devolved into a very Hit or Miss franchise but these two shows should have been absolutely lamb dunks for them but instead they became the most underwhelming [ __ ] they've released since the awful Clone Wars movie that came out in 2002 or whatever anyway next number five Euphoria season two yeah this is my controversial pick of the list uh and I don't care so next up we have edgelord the show brought to you by Sam Levinson AKA Mister you're not as deep as you think you are and let's be real okay let's be honest here the only thing Euphoria has left for itself is great Aesthetics the show looks fantastic and also great performances everyone in the cast is pretty great but can we just take a moment to acknowledge the absolute nosedive this show took narratively can we just take a step back I've already made a video on Euphoria I've already talked about how bad and messy season two is and hell we also went on like 20 minute rant about it on the podcast the more I think about this season the more I am genuinely baffled at health terrible it turned out to be I honestly think it is one of the greatest cases of character assassination I have ever seen some of the most idiotic storytelling I've seen all year which has only made worse by how strong the storytelling was in season one season two barely has a story it's more of a never-ending music video with brainless characters that are given excessively thin storylines that for the most part mean nothing and go nowhere some of the most important characters in season 1 become background characters in season two some completely disappear from the show with no explanation everyone is now a terrible person for no real reason conflicts are never really resolved and if they are they're resolved off screen and we're also introduced to who I strongly believe is one of the worst TV characters to be created in the past decade played by Dominic Fike stop it I will [ __ ] punch you Sam Levin says his head is so far up his own ass this season it's kind of mind-blowing he desperately wants this show to be aimed at adult audiences but I can't possibly understand how you can enjoy this season past the age of like 15. the whole thing feels like it was written by a 15 year old Edge Lord maybe it works as a guilty pleasure and uh it's so bad it's good kind of way because a lot of this season is unintentionally funny but it's kind of sad that a show this powerful was reduced to a Perpetual meme because its showrunner got a bit too pretentious with it again the Aesthetics are out of this world it is easily one of the best looking TV shows ever made the performances are really strong and episode 5 is the only good one of the bunch but overall jeez this season is one hell of a downfall I have no idea what season three is gonna be like especially since there have been rumors that a lot of people are leaving the show because things were apparently really bad behind the scenes during production of season two I'm not sure how much of it is real but I think it may not be too far off because I believe it's been officially confirmed that Barbie Ferreira has left the show I think she announced it herself so yeah I guess we can only wait and see but Euphoria season two is one giant l number four Halo back in the category of shows I did not finish because I care about my health we have this thing that I'm gonna be completely honest with you I straight up forgot this show existed until I started working on this list I just forgot I watched it and then it just disappeared from my brain my Consciousness just blocked it out but now I remember and it's just been pain ever since this show is an insult to anyone who has ever enjoyed science fiction or anyone who has ever enjoyed the Halo video games and I'm not even a fan of the Halo video games I don't know that much about them but I can tell you one thing I know this [ __ ] is not supposed to take his helmet off that's like his whole thing Master Chief is an iconic character and you never see his face some of the visuals are cool the action sequences are decent but it feels like this entire show was made by people who did not care about the audience and most of all people who didn't not really care about the source material and again I don't know too much about the Halo games so maybe I'm not the best person to talk about that but the little I know of it this show seems to be going against it all the time you know how the people who make the adaptation of The Witcher on Netflix have been very open about the fact that they don't like The Witcher as in the books they're adapting yeah um Halo looks like it's made by people who don't like Halo and probably never played it but even outside of its source material it's just a bad sci-fi series it's such a dull bummer of a show that entirely banked on having cool visual effects for the sake of spectacle but it just puts zero effort into you know writing a story that's worthwhile he sure tries to distance itself from The Source material in order to appeal to a broader audience but it does so in such a clumsy way that it ends up having no real identity just feels like a generic soulless Sci-Fi series that only knows how to make gun go pew pew I often criticize shitty teen dramas and shitty rom-coms for not putting effort into anything and just trying to bank on the actors being good looking while this show is the perfect example of a Sci-Fi show that's not putting any effort into anything and only tries to bank on decent visuals with zero substance I bailed on Halo 6 episodes in and those are six hours I will never be able to get back number three Resident Evil this one is personal this one hurts me to my core because unlike something like Halo or how I met your father or I didn't really have any particular expectations I was really really rooting for Resident Evil I really wanted to like it I love the games especially the recent ones and I was pumped for this show because I thought it would be adapting one of those recent games they've all been critically acclaimed they tell really good stories and have some really nice characters but no I was wrong I was very very wrong this is not a Resident Evil show this is just a stupid boring generic zombie apocalypse story with god-awful writing and lifeless characters that uses the Resident Evil name in the hopes that people will watch it thanks to Brand recognition I am not joking you this is a Resident Evil show that features a villain that does an entire dense number don't start now by Dua Lipa in a Resident Evil show you think I'm lying to you I'm not crazy [Music] this is the level we're at it's impossible for me to look at this and be like oh yeah they cared the show is closer in tone to 2020 Tick Tock than the actual Resident Evil games it fundamentally messes with the lore of the source material with for only gold to make it more generic and I just don't understand why they opted to make it what it is not in a world where we have the new New Gen of Resident Evil gizzard came out like 60 years ago and it's a [ __ ] [ __ ] a mystery about a man who goes through a creepy isolated town in Ruins to try and find his wife three years after she went missing because he discovers that she left him a secret message before disappearing that's a fantastic premise why not adapt that you have so much material and if it works you even have the sequel Resident Evil Village you have the Resident Evil 2 remake that literally gives you the groundwork because it is so cinematic and you have the characters to go with it Claire Redfield Leon Kennedy Ada Wong and then you have Resident Evil 3 that takes place on the same night with Carlos Oliveira and Jill Valentine I just don't understand why the people who adapt Resident Evil games to film or television just refuse to actually adapt the story of the games accurately they always go for an original story that's like Loosely based on the games but really has nothing to do with them it's literally been like that since the first Resident Evil movie that came out in 2002 and this Netflix show is no different most of the characters in this show don't even exist in the games they just made them up and they're not even good characters somebody please get Ella balinska a new agent because between Resident Evil and the 2019 Charlie's Angels her career is headed straight to the limbo of failed reboots and she's not a bad actress but she's always Associated to bad movies and mediocre shows Resident Evil [ __ ] sucked everything about this show is bad I hated it so much and it angers me because I wanted it to be good so [ __ ] bad anyways Netflix was very quick to cancel the show I do feel bad for everybody involved but damn I don't know how you miss this hard I'm probably gonna try to do another Resident Evil adaptation in a few years but I have no hope they have tried so many times and they just keep repeating the same mistakes and they're just not learning from them whatever next number two Pretty Little Liars original sin I'm not gonna dwell too much on this one I made a whole video on it that's over an hour long so you can go watch that if you haven't because I don't have much else to say honestly Roberto aguiro sakasa continues his impressive streak in his mission to prove to the entire world that he is in fact the worst showrunner in Hollywood it's Pretty Little Liars reboot is unsurprisingly lifeless stupid it treats the audience like absolute idiots to a point that comes across as completely disrespectful and as always Roberto tries to address very serious Topics in ways that makes it seem like he's mocking them he still can't write good characters to save his life he relies way too much on cliches but never fleshes things out everything is extremely surface level and he butchers every story beat he tries to hit and the thing that I don't understand is that fans of this show love to DM me to say that I don't understand the show since I released my video reviewing the first season I have had hundreds of messages from Angry original sin stands telling me Dylan you just don't get it you just don't understand it's fun it's just supposed to be fun it's not meant to be taken seriously it's just supposed to be fun oh oh okay I'm sorry let me just check that I got that right this show about rape victims and PTSD is supposed to be fun and not be taken seriously because yeah by the way I would like to remind you that bullying sexual assault and suicide are the primary themes of this show it's literally what the entire story is about it is what every single one of the care characters in this show is about I just love that some people get mad at me for not liking this show because they think it's supposed to be fun and cheeky and not be taken seriously and they look at me like I'm the crazy one okay cool hey I have a really fun movie for you you should watch it's called Requiem for a Dream watch it you're gonna love it you're gonna have so much fun with it it's so fun you're gonna love it it's so cheeky it's not meant to be taken seriously it's so fun just watch it it's so funny whatever I've said my piece about this show it's a terrible reboot that is bad at addressing very sensitive topics is extremely hypocritical with its values and even without all of that it's just a bad story with terrible characters it's apparently been renewed for a second season though so as bad as it is and knowing Roberto is probably only going to get worse all right before we get to number one here's a quick rapid fire mini list of honorable Mansions because some shows get very close to making the list payment Tommy God this show never managed to justify its own existence I didn't finish it but the little I saw was enough to make me want to stop Echoes is an incredibly uninteresting and needlessly convoluted Thriller about two twin sisters who swap lives and one of them goes missing I tapped out two episodes before the finale I just didn't care fate the wing Saga season two whatever it's been canceled who cares first kill get out of here I don't want to hear it and the terminal is an action spy Thriller starring Chris Pratt that should have come out in 2003 and even then it probably would still feel outdated alright that's it now that that's out of the way let's move on to number one God's favorite idiot oh my God you know I like Melissa McCarthy I really do have you seen Spy it's fun movie she's really good in it watch it if you haven't it's a good time but as much as I like good old Melissa here because she's a good actress way better than most people give her credit for I have to say that the trajectory she has willingly been taking with her own career has been incredibly disappointing it has been an endless series of mediocre entries and she is choosing that for herself let me explain if you don't know Melissa McCarthy is married to Ben Falcone they've been married for like 20 years or something and every couple of years they decide to work on a project together usually Ben will write and direct it and Melissa will play the main character in it and I am not joking you when I say this making this project with her husband is the reason why Melissa McCarthy's career has fallen off in the last decade she is literally running her career into the ground because she keeps working with her husband let me just give you a quick breakdown of the projects they made together in 2014 Ben Falcon wrote and directed Tammy an appallingly mediocre comedy that was not only considered by most to be the worst film of that year but also considered by many to be in the conversations for the worst movie of the decade it is currently sitting at a 24 on Rotten Tomatoes two years later in 2016 the couple teamed up again to make the boss which is honestly one of the most painfully unfunny movies I have ever seen it flopped so hard that it was forgotten almost instantly it's currently sitting at a 22 percent on Rotten Tomatoes two years later in 2018 they came back once more this time with Life of the Party an incredibly misguided mess of a movie about a woman in her late 40s who copes with her divorce by partying and having sex with with college kids it's incredibly creepy but they want you to think it's cool because that's what Hollywood does still written and directed by Ben the movie is stupid and kind of gross it bombed at the box office and Melissa and her husband were sued two years ago because they apparently stole the idea from a woman who pitched it in 2014. life of the party is currently sitting at a 38 on Rotten Tomatoes another two years ago we are now in 2020 a very uneventful year where nothing important happened Melissa and her Man released a brand new movie called super intelligence a mediocre and completely brainless action comedy slash rom-com that bombed so hard at the box office it was taken out of theaters early to be dumped on HBO Max where it also bombed it was then removed from HBO Max back in August nobody noticed and nobody even remember this movie exists it is currently sitting at a 30 percent on Rotten Tomatoes but they didn't wait long to strike again though because the following year in 2021 Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone teamed up once more to bring us the worst comedy of the last few years thunder fours a movie so bad it is considered by many to be the single worst Netflix original movie ever made and I would maybe agree it was at the top of my worst movies of 2021 list it represents almost everything I hate about Cinema and it is currently sitting at a miserable 21 on Rotten Tomatoes and finally in 2022 the pair has decided to return once again this time with a TV show God's favorite idiot the story of a man who gets hit by lightning and gains the ability to glow and learns from an angel that he is now God's messenger I mean it when I tell you that I could not believe what I was watching this show is so bad and so unfunny and so devoid of any personality it's kind of shocking Melissa McCarthy plays the same character she's been playing in every comedy for like 15 years now I guess because her husband doesn't know how to write her characters any differently the humor feels like it was written by a five-year-old it's so dumb I watched the first episode of this show at a friend's house and there was a bunch of us there and when I tell you that not a single joke landed I need you to know I am not exaggerating the silence was deafening Emily in Paris has better jokes than this show there aren't enough kitkats in the world to get through that show I promise you God's favorite idiot is terribly incompetent on every front the story is Bland the characters are blind the humor is Bland the overall writing is blind it looks Bland there's nothing about it that stands out and yet it thinks it's so funny it is bottom of the barrel immature comedy I don't know how you could enjoy this show if you're past the age of six but Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone are very connected in Hollywood so even if their projects keep getting worse and worse and keep bombing and losing Studios money they keep making them every couple of years so who knows what's coming next and there you go folks the top 10 worst TV shows of 2022. this was a really weird year for TV man I had no idea what was going on there was a lot of good too though but this was just one of those years where when a show was bad it was really bad I'm really excited to do this again next year though this was really fun I'm signing
