so one of the more frustrating things about seeing something like the blender market black friday sale is that we can't always afford all of the add-ons contained inside the sale so what i thought that i do is i thought that i'd make a video talking about some of the less expensive add-ons inside of the sale and what they can do so this is a video about my top 10 blender add-ons under 20 in the blender market black friday sale so let's go ahead and just jump into it alright so number 10 on the list is anti-tile this add-on is basically an add-on that helps you avoid tiling texture images inside a blender basically what anti-tile is going to do is it's going to go through and it's going to blend the seams between tiled images inside a blender so what it's going to do is it's going to help you not get that tiling image look anymore so you can see how for example if you had a texture like this one and then you would apply it it would just repeat over and over again notice how it adds some kind of like it adds some blending between the repetitions of this tile image in order to avoid getting that tiling image and blender is a tool that allows you to quickly work with 3d models it's basically designed to allow you to very quickly cut into different objects and make different changes so doing things like slicing doing things like arrays other things like that it's really designed to be fast and to work with the grids inside of blender so if you're looking for a tool that's really great for quickly making these changes like slices and cuts so that you can get in here and you can really quickly add things to your models grid modeler could be a great fit for that alright so random flow is a tool that's designed to basically help you create random meshes inside a blender so great for like sci-fi type modeling and so basically what this tool does is it gives you the ability to make things like random panels and random extrusions on your object so for example let's say that i was to use the random panels tool on here notice how what it's going to do is it's going to come in here and it's going to add some random subdivisions and add panels on top of my object so this is an excellent tool for like sci-fi style modeling or other things like that so you can add like random extrusions for example so that you get different panels on the outside then you can adjust how far out they're extruded in order to create different looks and different shapes really quickly so it's really fast like prototyping and sci-fi modeling plating generation tool so extra lights from cg cookie is going to give you access to a library of different lights that you can use in your scenes so these are all lights that are based on real world light fixtures and so you can access them and quickly add them to your scene to get different kinds of light so for example let's say that we were to add a light so we would do a shift a then add a light notice how you're going to have options in here for different kinds of incandescent bulbs or led bulbs or fluorescent bulbs so for natural lighting for example there's an option here for like a fireplace so if you were to move this over here this is going to give you lighting it's more similar to what you'd see in a fireplace so you could also add lights like different incandescent bulbs so for example we could add like a let's say we had an under cabinet light like this that's going to add that kind of light in your scene then you can come in here and you can adjust them to get different kinds of light but they're basically lighting presets that you can then adjust to what you need so you could do like outdoor lamps fly flood lights all sorts of different lights are contained inside of this tool set so if you don't really feel like messing around with your different light types and you want basically a library of preset lights this could be a good fit alright so conform object is a great tool for wrapping objects along other objects inside a blender so basically what it does is it automates the process of wrapping this object around a different surface using the different modifiers inside a blender so the way it works is pretty simple you just select the object you want to bend then the surface you want to bend it along and just click on the button for conform object and then this is going to give you a number of different this is going to give you a number of different things that you can change and adjust for that object so you can either have like a full on conform effect or you can adjust the settings in here so that just the bottom or the top is going to conform to the object using the gradient effect so this is a great tool for bending objects along other objects inside of blender so if you do any hard surface modeling hard ops and box cutter are two of the most popular add-ons for this so you can buy them separately so you can get hard ops or box cutter for fifteen dollars now personally i would recommend getting the actual bundle of those and just getting them both together but if you decide that you can only afford one you can get either one of those for fifteen dollars remember these are um basically some of the leading hard surface modeling tools for blender so i talked a little bit about box cutter yesterday hard ops is going to contain a ton of different tools for working for hard surfaces in blender so you can get either one of those for under 20 all right so cableraider is a tool designed to help you actually generate hanging cables inside a blender so it's specifically designed to help you simulate different kinds of cables so there's a lot of different things it can do so for example it can create like masses of cables between faces it's really designed as kind of a simulation style tool so let's say we had a mesh like this one you would just do a shift alt c and then this would allow you to create a cable so you can just click between different points like this and it's going to generate those cables then you can tap keys like the s key in order to adjust the size of that cable as well as things like the tension by tapping the d key and so it also does things like giving you the ability to create masses of cables between faces so just by selecting a couple different faces then selecting the option for create mass what that's going to do is that's going to create a group of cables in here that you can edit and adjust so you can adjust number of cables other things like that using this tool so this is a great tool for simulating or quickly adding and simulating different cables you can also do things like end caps and connectors and other things like that so we've got cable errata in here we also want to look at another curve tool which is curve basher and so curve basher is a little bit different curve basher um basically it allows you to create a number of different curves kind of like what we talked about before but this one gives you the ability to apply different uh like kits to it so you can scroll in order to adjust that i would say the difference between the two is i think there's a little bit more realistic simulation in cable rater while this one allows you to more quickly create the different kit bash styles so for example for this one what we would do is we could tap the c key and click and then click again in order to add a cable and we're going to go ahead and we're going to set like our adaptive strength and other things like that now that's one thing is you can adjust those a little bit better with cablerater but once we get this created what we can do is then we can tap the j key in here and that's going to open up the cur the curve basher browser and so the curve basher browser is going to give you the ability to apply different um profiles so you can see how i can apply like multiple different cables in here or if i was to tap the 2 key there's different profiles contained in here as well so like preset profiles for things like corrugated pipe fencing other things like that so i think they're both great tools um i think if you're looking to do something where you quickly apply like styled cables like this then curve basher might be a little bit better bet i think if you're going to do a little bit more simulation in here then cableraider might be a better fit so it really kind of depends on what you're trying to do both are great tools all right so now construction lines we have talked about construction lines a couple different times but basically this is um this is a tool for doing more like cad style modeling inside of blender and so what it does is it gives you a tool set that's more similar to something you might see in autocad or sketchup but basically what it does is it allows you to create things like guides it allows you to do things like duplication if you've ever used array tools like autocad or sketchup this is a quick way to create those different copies it gives you the ability to pick a base point and then rotate objects based on that point as well as an extrude and cut through tool and a bunch of other tools that are more designed for giving you the ability to create those those accurate models like you might in like an autocad so it gives you like a line tool as well as different shape tools and a precise movement tool that allows you to quickly do snapping to move objects so if you do any kind of like cad style modeling in blender this is a great tool for that plus it's like ridiculously inexpensive right now when it's on sale so it's less than seven dollars so if that's something you're interested in i will link to that in the notes down below and then finally fluent is another hard surface modeling tool we've talked about on the channel in the past but basically what it does is it adds a tool set for um modeling with those hard surfaces and so what it does is it allows you to quickly create different uh bevels and cuts and other things like that um i will note that the one that's under 20 is the fluent tool there's also a fluent power trip that comes with plating wire piping and grid tools if you can afford it it's really worth getting those extra tools but it's a great tool either way and so the way this one works and i find this one to be really user friendly is let's say we had a cube like this one you can activate fluent so fluent is going to give you a tool set that's going to allow you to quickly add things like cuts and bevels and other things like that so it makes creating the initial cuts really easy and then you can modify it by adding things like mirrors or arrays either like straight on arrays or circular arrays other things like that but they're really easy to access and adjust using this tool so personally i find this one to be very accessible and easy to use so i love working with this tool for hard surface modeling all right so i will link to all of these in the notes down below leave a comment below and let me know what you think about these different add-ons have i missed anything i just love having that conversation with you guys if you like this video please remember to click that like button down below as always thank you so much for taking the time to watch this and i will catch you in the next video thanks guys
