foreign well there's been a change of plans I originally had no interest in playing or covering Hogwarts Legacy now it's not like I disliked Harry Potter or wanted to protest the game I just simply had other games higher on my priority list as I continue to catch up on all the PlayStation games that I have yet to play now I did make a video talking about the drama that surrounded this game when it was first released I won't be speaking on it in this video but I will provide the link below in the description for that video if you're curious to check it out I have a friend that got the game and he was just non-stop raving about it to me so I eventually started the checkout gameplay watch reviews and I was impressed and ironically within the same time period I was in the process of re-watching all of the Harry Potter movies for the first time in a long time so after I beat Horizon zero Dawn I decided to move on to that game and it was a great decision on my part now this video is not going to be a full review of the game because I'm still in the middle of it however the things I want to talk about and why I think this game is great doesn't require me to complete the game I just got done watching The Last of Us and you know if you're familiar with the channel I've made a couple of videos about it also if you're new to the channel go check out those videos I think it's one of the best adaptations ever and I want to add Hogwarts legacy to this list The Last of Us was a great video game adaptation and Hogwarts Legacy is a great movie adaptation now this game has nothing to do with the Harry Potter story but it's set in the same world back in the late 1800s which is prior to the events of the books and the movies so it's a brand new story and it's actually pretty cool it's very interesting you play as a fifth year student who just got enrolled in the Hogwarts and literally hits the fan before you even get there there's a professor named fig who takes you under his wing and as you guys are traveling to Hogwarts you get attacked by goblins who work for the main villain in the game ran Rock and the game really really snow time throwing you into the story as you learn the play right off the bat I like when games do this they get to the point in the intro you get to learn about the story and the controls at the same time that's nice I like that kind of pacing so I'm just going to come out and say it now the number one reason why this game is great due to the immersion you literally feel like you're in a Harry Potter movie you get to explore the castle in Great Lengths you get to visit other well-known locations like hogsmead and the Forbidden Forest and there's actually a decent sized map you get to explore too it's an open world game that doesn't feel too big it's like the perfect size and just the castle alone is so big and filled with so much stuff to discover and explore and check out I would still be happy if ninety percent of this game only took place inside the castle I really can't say enough on how much this game makes you feel like you're in a Harry Potter movie The Game's soundtrack always sounds like you're watching one of the movies and the activities in the game are pretty awesome too you literally go to class and do homework but in a cool way you get to learn how to duel you get to learn new spells over time you learn how to make potions grow plants and it's not just like okay do this activity and that's it you literally learn how to make potions and plants and things that will help you throughout the entire game everything you saw Harry Ron and Hermione do you get to do there is of course combat which is more fun than I thought I honestly wondered going into this game like how much fun could they make waving a wand be but the animations and the moves your character does while waving that thing around and yelling out spells was awesome you could also do some jumping and dodging and rolling and again like in the movies you perform the same spells the Harry Potter Vibes are felt heavily throughout this game but I just want to reiterate too this is not a wizard School simulator outside classes and homework you take on other quests from People You Meet throughout your journey you can join a dueling Society you could get a broom and fly around there's Treasures to find puzzles to solve one part of the main game is the schooling but the other part is taking on ran Rock and his Thugs and helping Professor fig and I really like the relationship you have with fig because it feels very similar to the relationship that Harry had with Dumbledore in the movies I really did appreciate that that I can have my own version of that I should also mention that if you do spend a couple of extra bucks to get the dark arts packed then you will get some cool dark arts cosmetics and access to the battle arena that allows you to face waves of enemies while using dark magic even if you have not learned those spells yet speaking of that pick that's another great thing about this game I want to give a big shout out to Avalanche Studios and Warner Brothers for making a game that does not have a battle pass or any form of live service the only extra thing that you could buy is the dark arts packed and if you don't want to spend the extra 10 bucks then no worries because it's not really that essential to the game I think it adds to it but you are totally fine to play the game without it it's just so refreshing to play a game that isn't driven by a business model to make more money well after the game's release this game is good enough and quite frankly deserves DLC but the developers are so content with what they already made that they don't plan on adding anymore now the only thing I do wish this game had was quidditch you learn early on in the game that quidditch is not a thing and it's a little disappointing not gonna lie especially since the flying controls are pretty good in this game I don't have any complaints about that but again it's just so nice to play a complete game and not have to open my wallet time and time again in order to get more content and I actually wouldn't mind seeing this game get a sequel to build off of what they've done and maybe add Quidditch now like all open world games there's always Treasures to find challenges to complete and things to explore and I hate it when open world games let you look for things like Collectibles and just do it for show or for trophies and achievements this game rewards you for solving puzzles exploring collecting things you get geared other cosmetics and this stuff is important because it helps you increase your character's overall offensive and defensive abilities and honestly some of the outfits and glasses and gloves and hats you find are just really cool or you can there's a bunch of different wand handles you could find it is cool so taking the time to do this stuff is well worth your time quite frankly if you are a fan of Harry Potter then you are going to love this game it feels like Harry Potter but your own version of it you really feel like you're there and the freedom you have with your character is nice too you could be good and treat people well or you could be bad and be mean to people and just look out for yourself you get to choose dialogue options you get to make choices on how you want to complete quests open world games that allow you to make your own choices are the best I love that amount of freedom and even if you aren't a big fan of Harry Potter or you didn't grow up with those books and movies this is still a game worth trying there are a lot of games with magic and Powers but this one truly stands out and is very unique especially for the world it's based off of so I really do recommend this game to any gamer due to how immersive it is it's just truly a fun game and it also helps that when you buy it you are purchasing a complete game from the start thanks for watching this quick video like And subscribe for more if you have played this game let me know in the comments down below what you think of it take care I'll see you on the next one
