guess five years at this point right uh since the last tales game came out i had to start on the the opening because you know they're very important to the game i i feel like the the anime opening is is always a important tone setter for what we're doing so yeah um i'm gonna be playing tales of our eyes all day today um as sort of a setup i'll be letting the game do a good amount of the talking i'm not gonna try to talk over too much what's going on but obviously not everything uh at the same time uh i'm damn excited for a new tail scam uh i don't know that much about the setup we have here other than our two main characters i basically saw the first trailer for this game and went okay cool uh i'm going to be buying this i don't need more information so i know there's a you know at this point all six of the main casts are known and we saw them in the opening but uh but yeah uh let me know how everything looks how everything um seems uh they're like audio-wise i did some testing on the balance uh hopefully the bit rate is high enough uh for everything so yeah glad everybody's here have a good time um we won't be touching this yet uh there's a lot of there's okay this game came with i'll talk about this now before we start uh this game came like has a couple different versions uh that come with different uh dlc uh i ended up getting the ultimate edition that comes with all of the costume dlc uh there's also outside of the ultimate edition there's a uh a uh audio dlc bit that seemed way too expensive for what it is but it's music from all the other tales games that you can use in the game but i don't i want to let horizon soundtrack play so that that can do its thing uh and then there's a bunch of dlc that's like vesperia had on release it's like you can buy levels and experience which is very silly to me so uh anyway um with all that we got our burning coil sword here which is they're just hanging out let's start things up uh and uh see you on the other side ah rosella thank you very much for the stub all right oh right uh i already did all this uh because i had to do graphics we're doing full screen uh 920 1080 again if if things end up not being able to keep a frame rate we'll just turn that down uh should be annoying but whatever whatever it looked good when i did testing so in ages long past it was believed that mother dana was indestructible and everlasting rena on the other hand was thought to be the domain of the gods a paradise where the souls of the departed could rest forevermore oh how wrong we were in the face of rena's unimaginable technology its soldiers clad in huge shining armor and its fearsome beasts known as zugels the prosperity and bounty of dana all but disappeared overnight that was 300 years ago the world of dana fell under renin rule and its new masters split the land into five distinct realms and now today orbis calaglia one of the renin's five realms it is ruled over by the tyrant balsam lord of the fire master corps unrelenting fire scorches this barren wasteland dust storms course over the rocks and cracks and no relief is to be found from the oppressive heat the danon people toil as slaves day after day they suffer under the ruthless oppression of the renin soldiers with only one hope of escape death only in death is their agony finally brought to an end they have forgotten what it means to be free so complete is the renin's domination [Music] death all right everything was great until space alien showed up 300 years ago enslaved everybody and now the world is so so so so so so awful everyone's dead dying forever in this god-hand world this looks like this this is definitely a stage from godhead um and then uh but at the same time we're ruled over by orbis balsa buddy you just helped push the barrel [Music] dragon quest child puts them back into it embedded do they have like x spheres is that what the little thing on their hand is ah iron mask why you let me what is this some kind of sets of attachments sorry we're starting with the most important system right i decided to start straight here we're not gonna like okay so i have five slots for fashion playing as bain being hero of the children it seems we took a sword hit for a kid who was trying to roll a giant barrel ooh weapon skin yo that's really good so like i can choose like what weapon i have equipped if they have different that's nice there's also we're not going to touch it right now but like right here i can grab like 1 000 dlc uh costumes i'm going we're going to we're going to take it slow and we're going to wait to claim those until you know time yeah let's we're gonna let the game have its moment and you know do its thing and then we're going to undermine it with uh a cat on her head yeah so i'm when i say embedded i'm i don't know like do we have a do we have a thing on our you can't see if we i don't think we have a thing on our head so i was thinking about it might mean the little x spheres i care to count unfortunately that's hardly a rare sight around these parts are always going to replace your spine just watch how long can this continue why doesn't anyone stand and fight yep looks tails games as a series as we do this hey bud um one of the pieces that's almost a 100 percent include you'll see in every tails game is the idea of two worlds uh in some sort of conflict uh starts from fantasia with daoist planet um but almost every other tales game has this in some way uh zestiria and biseria don't have it literally but humans and serifs or humans and malek um have that sort of thing going on looks like we have that here uh symphonia uh and the eternia has inferior celestia symphony has uh it's it's pear uh the abyss has the underworld in the overworld uh et cetera et cetera et cetera there this is a consistent theming thing oh wait is like one of those a fake artificial moon like damn if it is also might be the planet uh anymore tales of grace's wing have a and find out for myself as a couple people have mentioned the animations and uh choreography in here looks a lot more fluid than in the previous engine the the previous engine out of cut out of uh you know big anime cut scenes just in engine stuff was a lot more restricted in how animation looked uh things looked a lot stiffer and i can already see right here like things look a lot stronger smoother in this new in this new engine that they have the old engine i believe was i know it was zestiria and berseria but i think it was zillion two as well i'm not certain on that one i didn't play zillion two so anyway all right yeah crimson crows um generally in tails games there's again a number of little through lines uh references that stick around one you know a chef uh a mascot character the i think it's the like the the black crows or the there's a there's a much lower tier one that shows up every once in a while [Music] carry an abandoned mine [Music] okay is that for the cool gauntlet dude uh that jolly flying man i would disagree heavily because uh syria freaking rules this area is far and away the best tales game that he like exists on a lot of axes in my mind um it's it's the one that i can say is good rather than he has a tails game good if you know what i mean um i love eternia attorney is actually good too that's 2d hotel sales games have a lot of rough edges bezieria has a lot less yep yep okay the the the lenagus is like literally a moon planet they showed up on so we've got the five lords here and then we've got moon planet that that all the space dude showed up on sure i want to check this place out what do we got okay this lets us connect to other minds sure cool [Music] what up [Music] are they my they're literally mining fire i i i guess you can because i wanted to make sure that the frame rate in fights was good i just can't see and skip to here oh it's just a dead oh just an idiot with a [ __ ] sword sorry i can't understand you in that game is quite different uh it's modeled closest it feels on berseria because we still have the soul gauge but like so we have main attack on a right bumper um and then you have your arts on yxa and then i i'm assuming we'll be able to change those but also i just have a dodge roll on right trigger [Music] also the music's just going so you see i have like the souls i have to do this like down there in my bottom that's like my uses of swallow blade and rising library [Music] i won i actually beat one of those soldiers and i could use arts i i'm legit i have to survive this no matter what run and rule without much upheaval it's possible the soldiers might be losing their edge all this trouble we've caused might be the first excitement they've had in a while well i don't plan on getting killed for their amusement he definitely eats like a waddle dee like you put a cookie up to his mouth and he just eats it uh but no the yeah the uh so you might see the initial setup here we have uh our mystery lady who anybody that touches her gets like shocked and knocked out and our main character who is the only person able to not get shocked and knocked out so we'll definitely be uh bringing it up a million times i'm sure glad to see you made it i did i heard you managed to escape but i didn't expect to see old iron mask with you in any case we're all wanted by the renin's it'll be easier calm while bearing those burns to your hands just really made it hit home for me that's ironic i have no problem hurting anyone who touches me but as soon as i try to wield that sword it's me who gets hurt do you wish you were impervious to pain too you realize you could burn your fingers off without even noticing right so what all i need right now is power and up until now i haven't come across anything stronger than that blazing sword the whole time i've been doing ah she's seeking the power got it you really don't care what happens to you as long as you get what you're after do you don't she owned uh she owned specializes in gun and arts cost course when automotive is enabled i'm going to target flying foes and art cure points oh we have oh we only have so many healing surges okay [Laughter] because there's not an mp system we need to restrict healing in some way so we literally just have a pool for it all right okay and we now have um because we have multiple party members we have visible hp totals i can change arts up three hearts on the ground three arts in the air for six equippable but i'm sure there's also like a stick plus generally that might be for different arts later though i only have swallow blade and rising luverne and mirage is my only aerial attack oh boy these have counts uh so in a lot of tales games arts will have like a level up on number of uses so and you can see this is ground attack with a riser this air attack with a with a down first aid cost 12 cure point resurrection oh we just have resurrection out the go um ground attack gun strike [Music] okay and i can turn on and off arts as you choose we were able to do combos in the second fight we did this this game is actually open i'm like like it's not like vesperia where we need to be at new game plus like we can go like one two three launcher one two three ground detect ahead um what do you got on standard infantry rifle white one piece oh hold on we have action figure poses like this one this is most definitely like a figure pose this is a good way to check out uh how our accessories and such will look sure items can only be used on the character that you currently control [Music] damn [Music] and again i'm gonna wait a little we're gonna hold on we got a long time to go today so we'll do the dlc outfit stuff soon don't you worry i just don't want to immediately drop it in foreign like a lot of the characters still couldn't operate until way late i'm blown here get a move on we're moving to another base it's um all right we're going somewhere bright eyes when the rain use national arts their eyes glow cool there's the fire mines judith is very bad about that yes all right looks like we're on a little bit of an overworld we can get some fights going as soon as we check out yeah check out space it's rats alright orbis land of brimstone and swirling ash that's glanimede castle stronghold of lord balsaf self-imposed ruler of all collaglia i've never seen it from this close before that's it all right next to it are the gates of fire take a good long look while you still can that wall is what we've come to tear down the only thing standing between us and freedom [Music] freedom it's like water world behind that don't mind me just sort of looking at how the frames be careful if you get close to a zoogle they'll attack [Music] oh right we have our buddy all right and we have our three different uh fighting styles uh for some reason semi-auto still looks like their default [Music] yup yeah default semi-auto so so the way semi-auto works different than manual is that your movement sucks ass and then sorry that's that's not true um when you hit an attack you'll move into position and then attack but like in general like every single game i've ever played with semi-auto like it it's just not very good you don't want to be using it this is it easier said than done no excuses all right [Music] there we go whoa take a look at that oh that's that was way too much don't fight any enemies you can otherwise avoid all right makes sense if we try to take them all off there'll be no end in sight you sure won't hear me complaining yeah but it's got a glowy weak point i want to fight the enemy that has a big glory weak point antidote rock what a weird stone i sense a strange power from it we should gather as many as we can find [Music] sorry recover after fights oh i thought you got like a little bit back after science next boss fight let's stop a moment to catch our breath but i've barely worked up a sweat no we're sitting at the bottom you'd heal and heal at the campsite you can watch skits and normally we should take turns standing guard but this first time i'll watch over things so you two can rest easy zephyr why aren't you concerned about who i am you feeling left out son not that but it's really weird to not have these be too deep to me free man at this point that's all that matters even if it somehow turned out you
