all of these logs in the hot sun gotta clear them all out till they're painting on work that tiger cat to death till the job's done and we do it all again [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] well bobby and the crew are still up here in hallsborough north carolina and it's just another typical day up here on the job site [Music] with plenty of wood on the deck justin's off the shovel and concentrating on some much needed repairs first order of business today was the samsung bobby had ordered a joystick for it and today justin's gonna install it and of course halfway through the installation they discover that this joystick won't work see the samsung has six hydraulic inlets in it where the new one has seven so it looks like the samsung's off the table for the day they've already completed these side to property and the show has already picked up the road now symmetrio has started on the north side with the fellow budget [Music] behind while we had a little time on our hands we decided to stop at pierson company in downtown hallsborough pearson company has been around since 1898 in hallsborough the original store located about three quarters of a mile down the road from us it's still standing but it's seen some tough times in the 1920s the white family built this building which has been which was then expanded in the in the 1950s the store provides all kinds of materials to the to our local consumers and also the people that are passing through on their way to the beaches or over to south carolina we've kept the store true to its roots over the over the last generations and we still do things the old-fashioned way one thing is we still write paper tickets for people that come in that are that are long-time customers with people can buy things on their account and then we settle up at the end of the month local customers will come by in the morning or in the lunch time in order to pick up a sandwich slice of bologna a piece a couple pieces of bread slice of hoop cheese we make our sausage fresh daily that's very famous people that have grown up in columbus county even if they move away they will come back and pick up um some link sausage or some bulk sausage to fry up for breakfast or for the grill and we cut our steaks daily for our customers we're famous for our rib eyes there's not a outdoor event around here that happens without some pearson company steaks if you're ever out in the area or want to take a road trip come on down and see us we'd love to see you and joke around and you can get a taste of some of the sausage now let's get back to work and let's see what mr bobby's up to well guys we're standing here at the 855 fella buncher and i think y'all remember a while back we actually fubar disarm these things will get cracks along the tops and the bottoms those y'all that have them watch for those cracks because once they start cracking there if you don't get it fixed if the guy misses it it'll actually break the whole arm off and we actually twist this arm it was bad enough there was it could have been fixed but it probably would have been much different than went ahead and buying a new one versus all the machining and pushing and pulling heating and twisting to get it back straight but we put a new one on it and lo and behold on this arm over here yesterday we did it again i think it's hot but it didn't hear when it was snapped it actually broke and went straight around like that didn't twist it a bit we got britt dale up here and uh which he rounded out off cut it welded it put plates on top bottom in the front but anybody that has these these especially these long arms i guess they're just so long and the machine is so strong and heavy that it puts a lot of pressure on me kind of see that one's kind of bent up a little bit but we got this back there what what it worked before as britt was working on this justin has been working on stuff today today is on friday and of course we got wood stacked out of yin yang and he got no trucks to haul it so we've been taking fridays that kind of work on the equipment but justin had rewired wanted log trailers and then he was trying to fix the air conditioner on the bulldozer and uh he had been on it for four hours and bless his heart it's an electrical issue he couldn't get no fire going to the compressor and he kept saying i don't understand it there's no fire on either side of the fuse and you know i don't know anything so i get there and i'm set down to see i'm looking at the book and i look over at what he's working on i can see he had a jumper wire in the fuse hole which fuse 24. well actually 24 number was beside that fuse because also there was another fuse kind of in between two uh i guess uh breakers but that was the 24th year [Applause] sometimes it just takes a fresh paradise but anyway he worked on it for four hours and i go up there add the blue and i see you know the other fuse and he checks and pops the fuse in and spins oh my god but uh he had a lot of stuff he wanted to get done today of course that held him up four hours because i was dragging getting up here with parts and stuff but you know it's been a good day hey this is my tractor the ac's got to work but i am not built for hot weather [Music] anymore [Music] [Music] [Music] um [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] i think someone once said when everything seems to be going really good that's usually when the floor falls out from under your feet [Music] as justin was moving the samsung over some tree butt the left track lost tension locking it up he had to grab the tractor up towards the service truck which thank goodness was only 50 yards away after several attempts with the dozer trying to re-seek the track it appeared they wouldn't have much luck [Music] finally after a few minutes they were able to line it back up hey ready [Music] the army truck brings in wonder turtles actually it's terrell's trailer and the whole inside tire is gone the rim busted sometime last night coming back from georgetown and of course it worked the tire to rim and everything so we picked it up went ahead and chained axle up but compared to the shop we got to change all the studs and everything on the axle but it's just another day out here in the woods trying to get stuff fixed trying to find trucks you know it's a battle every day but [Music] what i try to focus on you know even though we're not getting the loads we need to our stuff is old enough that we got a lot of maintenance where we need to get done so we take this the time that we got a bunch of wood piled up trying to stop some of the traffic one every time i work on them and actually it's time to change it all again so we'll try to get that done between uh next week somehow try to take one at a time to go over but uh just stay in touch we'll keep we'll let you know what's going on out here and if there's any good truck drivers out there that kind of been on the road and wants to come and call local halls give me a call don't need no steering wheel holders give me a call i need some help so [Music] uh i'm gonna tell y'all what's the truth i don't know if i could have the patience these guys have if everything that i had started breaking down all the time i'll get that open drop the top of monday at 12 o'clock i agree what's going on out there um terrell checking in with you i'm not sure if i'll be checking in anymore in the process of trying to buy me a truck for myself try to get back out there and start working for myself again which i've done it before but you know i know a little bit more this time um other than that we still out here in this old um track down here that's that's um been starving us to death but thank goodness they came up on the milestone so they finally gave gave bobby a little bit more money and gave us a little you know a few more miles where they gave us a few more miles i don't know if they gave bobby a raise or not but um other than that i'm just praying everything go for um go smoothly for me as i try to make this transition i'm hoping everything will go all right but i i i really hate the league but there's nothing personal it's all about business this time and plus i'm bumping in and out of these woods about say 18 years give or take well probably about 16 years i was over the road before but time to do something different but we'll highlight y'all well maybe we'll holla at y'all later maybe we won't i don't know but it's been real it's been fun out here but if i get a chance to get back home before i get you know on the road i i'll check back in with you guys don't forget to like and [Music] yanking share finally got some in yeah that is heavy duty right here buddy but i gotta educate myself on which one to use you got a different load rating this big one right here when i talked to him i told him we used the truck on truck and uh and we used the motor grader if something's stuck yeah and this is what this big one's for and he said you do it just like the name implies you hooked to it and you yank them but this is a 30 footer here that's a big rope right there 74 000 pounds of pull and see it's probably a safety radius change has got like a five or seven to one say a safety rating which means it's it's five times that i'm not sure if this has that but it's better than a chain got to be better than a chain and these ones from trucks yeah i don't know i got i got to get them all out go through them and see what they're for what the load rate is but something i learned that i wasn't aware of is um you you you get the toe rip according to the vehicle doing the pulling so he says if you put like this big on a pickup it ain't going to stretch the fibers like it does to i don't know how well i guess it stretches and all that tension comes back together and pulls it out but uh he said that uh you don't want to use a big one on the pickup because he's a jerk the back of the pickup real hard okay and those are they call them soft tie ends you put that not on your ball but inside your pencil hook the pin yeah you double them they got bigger this stuff yeah yeah yeah this stuff right here can't hit any kind of metal you need to keep it clean too it'll work dirty he said but the dirt in it when it stretches and then goes back that dirt gets in it and you know how the sand is it's abrasive they got nice little bags that go to them too but uh we get a chance we'll get them all bagged up and give them to whoever needs them but after what happened to monkey i don't want to go through that again but that's that's been a 5 000 episode right there time to get everything fixed on them yeah for the grill yeah and luckily it didn't break anything it just did in the grill yeah like it didn't hit him wow this is the 131 thousand five hundred pounds this is what you can put yeah this one you pull tractors out with everything the weight of the machine just matches that that well that's what it can that's what it can take he said that you match the rope with the vehicle on the pull and i guess their truck i mean if the truck's loaded legally it's 90 000 pounds but this would be for the road i mean for the trucks or the tractors that will cover everything because i mean the truck ain't buried they just need a little help i was gonna pull it out with a dozer or something yeah that's broke that's what these big hey guys after uh the episode with monkey's truck the chain breaking tearing the front of his truck up we got a lot of feedback from your viewers about yankem ropes and uh so i took y'all's advice i went and got some we got him delivered the other day i got somebody here now we was going over looking at him and uh y'all staying stay in touch with us and i'll let you know how they do when we uh have opportunity to use them um but they are massive ropes one of them's 134 131 000 pounds of pull which that will take care of anything we got out here so y'all stay stay stay tuned and uh we'll let you know how they do guys this is the end of our video thank you all for watching remember to hit that like share button and we'll welcome comments thank you [Music] i took a bride back in the mountains we made a life up in those hills [Music] she stayed at home often all along high in the mountains on the moonshine still i never thought she'd be unfaithful
