Suno DETHRONED?! Udio is Released!

my friends there is a new kid on the AI music blog that kid's name is udio and you need to check it out right now welcome back to the channel where we explore the creative uses of AI and wow the AI music world has just gone nuts first there was sunno I've shared son a with you and now there's udio this thing kind of leaked on x/ Twitter a few days ago and got a lot of attention because of the quality of the music that it was generating really unlike anything we've seen even with sunno but I'm going to let you be the judge the great news is his udio is 100% free to use right now while it's in this beta period I suggest you go and give it a shot you can do up to 1200 Generations in a month during this period you got plenty of time to give it a run for its money I'm just going to play a few examples of things that other people have done and then just show you a few things that I've done and in doing so show you how it works it's pretty simple and not unlike a lot of the other things that we've seen already but there are a few things that are special about this besides just the quality of the audio when you get to the front page I suggest that you take a few minutes and just listen to at least a few seconds of some of these samples and since I can't trust you to do it on your own we're going to do it right now I'm just going to click play on a few of these and here a few seconds of it I highly suggest you put on headphones especially if you're concerned about Fidelity because the quality of this far surpasses anything I've heard so [Music] far for the man shs oh to Victory usful all right that is amazing and I certainly haven't heard anything like that on any of the other services let's keep [Music] going he my please you know I'm searching in the past so let's go and look at what I was able to do another thing you need to know right up front is that it is a little glitchy right now when it was launched it got slammed when people started sharing it in fact yesterday the reason I couldn't do a video on it was because the access to it was so sporadic and the servers were overloaded and it was very inconsistent and even now you may run into busy servers or very slow Generations or something just plain doesn't work but go give it a try anyway once you create your account you'll be brought to this discover page that we were just on and you can actually start creating music just from this page by clicking right up here it'll drop down the rest of this box where this is where you would type your prompt and you've got all kinds of flexibility here and this is where this one really has some special features especially when you start doing your own custom prompts and we'll see some examples of that going on but the ability to add different voices and have exchanges and sound effects and things like that is in here where it's not as predictable with other services you'll notice here it actually has a set of dice here if you'd have really no ideas you can just hit randomize and it'll start going through this as you click on a style Ender here it will populate it and you can keep building on the prompt just by clicking all these different styles now this would be a heck of a blend right here let's go ahead and just reset all this by clicking reset why don't we choose this style that I liked when they were doing the musical on dun let's just go over here and copy this whole prompt and then go right back up here and I'm going to paste The Prompt I think they probably past it in custom lyrics in our case we'll have it generate something I'm just going to start this prompt with a song about the land of dancing candy we'll talk about manual mode in just a second let's click create now you may get this message here error tracks and flows you may find that it is actually still generating and you can find out by clicking my creations and there it is you'll see that it's spinning it does take quite a while at least for now for these things to generate which is why we're going to mostly be going through as I've already created just to save time in creating this video and getting it out the door for you in fact we'll come back and we'll check back on this later over here you have the option to change the way these songs are displayed and I actually prefer it like this as a checkerboard pattern because you get to scroll through them much quicker you'll notice that some of these songs have this same pattern as cover artart I think that's part of the glitch that is going on right now because sometimes images are generated based on the prompt as it was here but one kind of cool feature is after the fact you can change these images that's right an image generator is built right in here's our song it's all done sugar dance romance about the land of dancing candy but what you can do is go into edit mode and then click on edit image and then you'll be given the opportunity to prompt something here I'll just type the land of dancing candy and click generate I will tell you that sometimes you'll get errors when you try to click generate and other times you'll get the images but it won't save properly so far I have not been able to successfully save any of these images that I've generated but I at least wanted to show you the functionality just in case it's working by the time you get there and generations are taking quite a long time okay here we go cool images select that one and click on Save and it failed to update cover art image well I expect it'll work eventually let's hear Dandy we're moving sweet on Lollipop Land oh sweet sweet so let's just spin in sweet confetti you spin me around just like a s now you'll notice that it only does about 33 seconds of the song but you can extend this in a variety of ways let's click on extend up here and see what our options are you'll notice that this song kind of started right in the middle of stuff an intro might be good actually let's click on extend let's click on ADD intro I won't change anything else I'll click autogenerated and I'll click extend get the same error message go to my creations and it looks like it's already done let's listen nope song is not ready yet please try again so let's scroll down to some earlier examples here's one Loi song in the style of Fay Webster about kittens that talk too much this is another example where they're not using the actual voice of in this case Fay Webster they're using that name as a guide for the style sometimes the voice may sound very similar to it or it may not sound like it at all but borrow the style of some of her [Music] musicis [Music] Driftin okay so here is a really fun example let me dig into remix so you can see the prompt and everything this prompt was Iris jig solo male singer that's all I did now this brings me to manual mode if you don't click manual mode and click remix yudo is going to sort of embellish your prompt a bit and add all kinds of other things that it thinks is going to make it special but if you click it on manual mode it will only use Irish jig solo male singer as the guide in this case I wrote My Own lyrics because I wanted to show you some of these cool things you can do as we play this check out the lyrics and and then also these instructions in Brackets anybody here ever heard of about D media no all right then let me tell you about it 2's go Bob doy's here to share the magic hey music in the house tonight yeah baby subscribe to the channel if you like it now if you don't that's all right bobia I will look for you I will pursue you I will find you and I will it pays to write your own lyrics and it pays to take the time to use some of these prompts obviously I was able to generate a spoken word here voice one and then a different voice by noting voice two also spoken and then back to voice one and then it's still counting and then saying things like accordion saying things like instrumental being very specific with it just like some of these other services when you put things in Brackets it does interesting things in this case it generally has some sort of shout out or some kind of call and response but I thought it did a fantastic job let's hear another example of this particular set of lyrics [Music] in this case it did not generate all of the lyrics it created more of a background this would be great to have in the background because it's just saying Bob Dell media over and over but it didn't Follow The Prompt exactly but I wanted you to hear another example of how sometimes not following the prompt still get you cool stuff and that's on all the services anybody here ever heard of Rob media no all right then let me tell you about [Music] it I will look for you I will purs you I will find you this is the story of Santa Claus sung as an old sea shanty call and response infectious and fun with memorable chorus oh aolly man with a beard as white as the froy foam and his eyes a merry storm as he calls to us from the north build his SL with our hands and raineer ready to take their stance that's not what I think of when I think of a sea shanty but it's still a cool song in this case I said the story of Santa Claus sung in the style of Muddy Waters I'm riding Mye team the song about the relief of a canceled plan in jazz and blue Style no alarms today sweet freedom rings in plans we escape let Rebel in this Bo just you and me clear the slate and let's just stay inside love the thrill of the plan here's Acappella four-part Harmony Reverb tight Harmony song about sitting in an airplane hoping that none of the people boarding will sit next to you and that you'll have an empty seat and blue wishing for that seat who passengers shuffle through I pray for space sweet treat keep the ooh just myag this style they rock it I'm telling you here's another example this is a song where I used the extend feature to keep adding more and more to it it started with a few lines and then I would extend it a little more and it would add a few more lines and finally I used the extend feature to at an outro so it was a complete song this is a song about having to go to the bathroom real bad in the middle of the night the within the [Music] bathroom it's calling out there's no denying L need to [Music] run IGN the pressure tip toe fast ons a silent in the dark we creep just one for that peaceful sweet [Music] swe in hush despair we make the trip as quiet as not wake the anticipate aums [Music] sound wow that's a heck of a way to end that let's go back to the song where we had it generate the intro see what it [Music] didar s have a glossy Sheen marshmallow clouds in a sky so Grand in the Whimsical world of Candy Land where the pepper pths that we walk on glean and the caravel flows like a honey stream so that's where it is joining what was already in progress that's the original file we had so it generated all that in Sugar Rush Oh So Dandy we're moving sweet on Lollipop Land sweet sweet so let's just spinning sweet confetti you spin me around just like a swirl yeah okay it ended kind of abruptly after just like a swirl let's go ahead and extend it and this time we'll add an outro of course we'll need to wait for that and while we're doing that let's listen to the other version of the intro that it did Tales of treats spun so grandly where chocolate rivers flow so fancy kind of janky Oh Come Away let's so fre the gum drops Hearts understand SE let's in the Cy land breeze and lose ourselves with every sweet tee and now we're back to the original is about to come in so they're transitioning take a [Music] second still this does a better job of extending and adding things than than any of the other services that claim to do that writes new lyrics and tries to join the two things together and does a fairly decent job now this is the generation that added an outro to our candy [Music] song Let's pop ahead to where that [Music] happens in the cotton candy we lose our track of time as we bounce on jelly beans and leave our worries behind every laugh a sugarco melody in this confection fantasy where gum drop buttons glow like L it's doing a fade out I've had other Generations that have done these fade outs too luckily you do get to hear all the words that's pretty cool let's listen to the other ending it generated we'll skip ahead to it you spin me around just like a swirl yeah [Music] this is where we join the gum drop gig The Whole Town's a stage in a jelly bean J forget your age Life's a treat that's soft and sweet the sugar Serenade in the whle world of candy Glade where the soda pop wither Sparkle bright and the chocolate fountains are a heavenly a nice clean ending oh such a wonderful relief here's another example of one that was extended from its original 33 seconds the prompt on this one is a theme to a 1990 sitcom called Lizard Boy Meets World sung by kids bouncy and catchy the theme introduces the characters lizard boy carp girl and splorch lizard boy oh lizard boy scaling walls and s High carp girl swims in life big ponds of Dreams together bondor appears with a bounce and beat goofy to feet and this was the part that was [Music] extended potatoing with comic teachers pet with scholing with every testly towns where they all Meet quacky Tales and friendship sweet that is a fun ending okay enough of me and my opinions about what's good go play with this tool and generate stuff of your own and hopefully we'll see it up here in the Discover section cuz if you do
