you lord we lift you up jesus we come to call on the name above every name the name of jesus oh there is power in the name of jesus hallelujah hallelujah jesus [Music] that happens when we proclaim [Music] we cannot explain how is [Music] [Music] explain that he's is [Music] [Music] power in the name of jesus [Music] please jesus when i call your name i'm alive today everything has to has to change [Applause] somebody call on the name of jesus [Applause] i don't know about you i feel the presence of god in this place today and you got some situations you're battling through i just believe that the lord will break through your situation that he's going to break out type of thing today come on put your hands together [Music] [Music] we need you to break down right here [Music] we feel [Music] [Music] for y'all we need you to freak out right here but they're mighty through god to the pulling down of stronghold i declare today that it's time to use your weapon to pray and every yoke don't know what situational trials that you had this week but i'm telling you right now that the lord can change that hallelujah victory let your spirit move [Applause] [Music] [Applause] all right kids have you seen my keys have you seen my wallet well i want to tell you that god is looking for worshipers that worship him in spirit and in truth is there anyone here in the house that want to worship god right now in spirit and in truth come on raise your hands right now to jesus raise your hands right now to jesus and say god i want to worship you in spirit and in truth the bible says that he is looking for a worshiper that is not worried about what's going on that is worried about what he has done in his life come on raise your hand right now and say jesus i'm here to worship you i'm here to give it to you i'm here to lift you up high right now hallelujah hallelujah come on clap your hands to jesus the kingdom of god suffers violence but the violent taken by force is there any violent pentecostal in this house tonight that can say i'm here to worship jesus hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah [Music] i'm so glad that he knows my name we could go home just with that that he knows my name that means that he knows my worries that means that he knows my my trials and tribulations that means that he's going to help me win every battle that comes my way because he knows my name come on why don't we just raise our hands one more time and meditate on the lord in the book of psalms we find a word that's called salah and this word means to meditate on the word of the lord to meditate on the things of god can we just meditate on him right now hallelujah jesus thank you god thank you jesus [Music] a lot of the times we come to the house of god and it is difficult to enter into the next phase of worship because we can't just let go of what our brain is going through at the moment because we're thinking about that one thing that is troubling us but did you know that the enemy has come to put imaginations in your heart to put imaginations in your mind so that you're not able to worship him come on we can't move to the next part of this service if you don't understand that god right now really truly wants you to forget about whatever you're going through he got it he got it he is all god there is nothing impossible for him come on if you believe that right maybe you're not going through something but my brother right here might be going through something and i gotta worship god so that his blessing can come down come on can you ignite the fire can you ignite the fire of jesus to be poured down in this house right now there is someone looking for a miracle [Music] jesus hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah [Music] [Music] i am you want me to take you to the next level so i say today worship in your struggle where i've come to break all your shackles your doubt your trust is you i come to reassure you because i love you that i have you i have the way for you and if you trust on me and lean on to my understanding i will take you where i want you to go so worship in your struggle when you feel like there's no way out worship me stand on me worship me for i in the waymaker i have you i'll help me be breaking loose around you in this world but i am in control i love you i am the i am and i will show you the way trust in me come on how many know that god is in this place right now god is in this place right now and he is answering your prayers but your worship the bible says in the book of daniel chapter 10 that that daniel was praying and he was praying for a miracle to come to his life and the angel showed up and said your prayers have been answered since the day that you had decided to look for for god said but i've been fighting in the heavens with the prince of persia there is a war against your prayers there is a war against your miracles and you need to make sure your prayers and your worship is going up to help these these battles be one in the spiritual world clap your hands one more time to jesus hallelujah [Music] hallelujah you may be seated in the house of the lord [Music] turn to the person next to you and say i am happy to be in the house of the lord hallelujah why don't you just high-five somebody and say god is so good to me amen how many truly believe that god has answered your prayers i want to say thank you to all the youth for uh sitting in the front and um helping us with uh keeping more seats in the back available for the rest of the church and our visitors how many are happy that we have visitors in the house of the lord today amen and we are moving into another form of worship with our tithings and offerings and uh god has been good to me i don't know if god has been good to you in our in your finances um but before that we have a special um presentation that we want to do because it is important to help everyone around the world and um i just want to say have you ever felt like you wanted to be part of something bigger than what you normally do as a christian anyone i ask that question again have you ever felt like you wanted to be part of something bigger than what you normally do as a christian have you ever wanted to use what god has handed to you we are all aware that other nations don't have the resources we have to build a church nevertheless to buy a bible the united pentecostal church has been an active advocate for many years in practicing what the bible speaks about in mark 16 15 and he said to them go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature we have missionaries all over the world that need our help with finances when you help these missionaries you are helping them build churches purchase bibles receive a car for transportation put food on their table and provide an income for these families that leave the comfort of their lives to preach the gospel this is the way you can be part of something bigger than what you normally do in your christian life [Music] can i get the hat please [Music] move the mission which was called cheese for christ they changed the name which i like the new name better i don't know what she's for christ really means i really don't i should google it but move the mission has been reaching uh to all the churches around the world to help with a special offering to continue helping missionaries but it also has been put on the hands of young people that can raise money at their local church by doing fundraisers and when they achieve a certain goal they become real mccoys which is the best way of saying thank you for helping the kingdom of god we have three of our church members that have been real mccoys in the past and i would like for them to come up here we have sister jenny morataya josiah rodriguez and caitlin batman for you to become a real mccoy you have to raise at least a thousand dollars i just want to say thank you to them they deserve a standing ovation [Applause] we have to move the mission on key you guys can sit down we have to move the mission it is very important for us to understand that there is a lot of need around the world and we went to a youth uh gathering and there was a son of one of the missionaries there and he said that move the mission had send them a car and because it is so bad the neighborhood where they're doing missions at that they robbed them of their car at gunpoint and moved the mission sent them another car and guess what happened so we're not going to send them no more cars we're going to send them bicycles okay but it is very tough where they're at and they are preaching the gospel and they're preaching the gospel with all their might with all their strength and so we want to show you guys a video um so that you guys can see how important it is move the mission we are called to move the mission it's got to somehow get down into the emotions of your mind it's got to reach your heart until it will cause you to weep for the souls of men and then i'd like to say to you tonight that we have the word of god [Music] on which we can stand to move this world you need to get your mind on the things that god wants us to have and that's to be renewed so that we can have a worldwide vision and realize the purpose of our existing is to get the whole gospel to the whole world [Music] [Music] [Music] the need is to move the mission [Music] what have you done to make sure the gospel will continue to be freed it's not time for us to become passive a united pentecostal church it's time to preach the word i am not ashamed of the gospel of christ i will cross any river i will climb any mountain i will pay any price i will bury anybody give me the hard road who will go [Music] amen the mission must be moved so at this time we're going to pray for the offering and our tithings and we're also going to pray for a special offering for move the mission because how many are interested in investing to the kingdom of god amen so let's pray father god thank you lord for this opportunity lord to give uh to the missions lord god to give to our church to help the kingdom of god lord god we're just we're just so thankful lord for what you're doing and for the things that you're going to do in the future god we pray for all the missionaries around the world god that are out there and putting their lives in danger jesus and they're putting their families in dangers their kids their wives lord god to preach the gospel god we pray that you can put a protection over their lives in jesus name we pray amen amen amen what an incredible presence of the lord is in the house today so thankful for what god is doing in our midst amen so move the mission this is a offering put on by our youth department and the general youth division of the upci who we are affiliated with and as brother lewis mentioned it goes to benefit so many different areas of need and the main focus has been over the years providing vehicles for missionaries that's been the main focus and then it transitioned into tupelo children's mansion which is our orphanage the upci orphanage and then it transitioned into the lighthouse ranch for boys troubled youth helping them providing them with funding and ultimately 50 percent of the offering stays in our district so it also helps maintain the youth cost of all of our events it helps maintain them to keep them at in a manageable range and so the offering goes towards incredible incredible areas of evangelism ministry and outreach as well as home growth and what god is doing here and so when you give today you're sowing into mission you're literally sowing into the hands of the missionary when i was 15 years old and i went to africa i traveled in a sheesh for christ vehicle when i've been to the philippines i have traveled and she's for christ vehicles and so these vehicles help move the gospel of jesus christ all over the world and there's places in the philippines where a normal car could not go but the suv the missionaries suv was able to take the gospel to the mountaintops i've been to areas in africa where a normal car would be stuck and you're thinking how can a car get down this road it's not even a road and i've had moments where you've actually had to get out and walk and let the vehicle go ahead and then follow behind because it's just too treacherous for any normal vehicle and so i have seen she's for christ at work in moving the mission to the uttermost parts of the world and so when you sow in today today is a offering that is a focus for our whole organization a sacrificial offering day and so if you feel god moving upon your heart to give more than what you normally do or to sow into the hand of missionaries more than you've done before follow the leading of the lord he will never lead you down a path of destruction or by a path that's beyond your means but god will always lead you down a path in preparation to give more and sow back more into you than what you've sown into him you reap what you sow amen we reap what we sow and if i sow bountifully i get to re-bountifully unify so sparingly that i get to reap sparingly so just take the word as is and what the word gives us if you do want to sow into sheets for christ or move the mission today on the church app it's not on there so just put it under the youth account if you want to sew in to move the mission today put it under the youth account on the church app and so we'll make note of it that any offerings coming into the youth today we'll be going in to move the mission that is if you want to give them the church app if you've already done so you've given and put it into a different account please see one of our administrative team or one of the ushers and let them know what account you put it into so that way we can then pull it out and allocate it where it needs to go because everything sewn in to move the mission goes in to move the mission okay so everything's sewn into the missionaries it goes straight to the missionaries thank you so much for your faithfulness your commitment to giving sowing into god's kingdom a couple things that i need to mention today and again no announcement video so i'm going to try to move very quickly all right because i tend to ramble in announcements and i was notified last week i took 40 minutes so praise god i'm gonna work on maintaining these announcements within five minutes so all the small group leaders say amen i've already got to a slow start all right september 3rd all the leaders please please register on the church center app we have a small group leaders seminar at 7 30. i believe it's seven no six o'clock i'm sorry six o'clock on september third and then there's a youth purity conference the same night september third and that's gonna be at seven or seven thirty more details on the church center app and then boot camp if you wanna get fit and die then you can sign up and get prepared on september 4th join the small group on the church center app and never miss a boot camp get your body ready for the rapture praise god [Laughter] they say get your summer body but in the church we say get your body rapture ready praise god amen september 5th is our international summer festival and this is going to be a great day it's going to be awesome so we're working on the details but church will be here we'll have service at 10 a.m we'll have about an hour long service and then we'll go into the festival which will be all day long we've never done this before but like i said we've done a lot of firsts in 2020 and 2021 so why not just add one more thing to the list of first we've done and so uh that's going to be september 5th we're going to have a great time working on getting vendors here as well and so food trucks it's going to be just a great day of fun fellowship and you're not going to want to miss it and then also coming up on september 18th are is an altar workers and baptismal ministry seminar and so if you want to be involved in the art ultra working team or you feel god calling you into the area of ultra working we invite you to come to this seminar and participate and join the team for ultra workers because how many know that you have to help people reach out to jesus i i can't tell you how many times i've walked up to an individual and i've said let's pray and they say well i don't know how i don't know if i can do that and i say it's very simple just open your mouth and tell jesus you love him let's start there and walking people through i mean parts people are hungry but sometimes they need guidance and direction and there's altar workers for that to help lead people to repentance help guide people to jesus christ and let him transform their lives and so that is coming up september 18th there are more details on the church center app of course and um that will be a blessing for our family to have a group that is being led of god to work in the altar and help people have their encounter with jesus christ amen all of our first-time guests and visitors we welcome you here today and are so glad you're here and if this is spiritual giftings everybody is born with spiritual giftings everybody has been created with talents that god calls to be put back into his kingdom every one of us every one of us have been birthed with talents and abilities that god has planned that he can use in the assistance of building developing edifying his body and so you're going to learn about that today in first steps you're not going exactly what's happening but this last week and a half ago sister sue dean passed away from cancer this is sister kim aoki mother as well as bill dolly's mother and so pray for the family they just buried her yesterday so pray for the dean family when you pray as well as sister cecile dequina's father passed away this last week and you would recognize him he would always be in the wheelchair sitting right about wherever the lewis is as sister cecil would wheel him in and so tate did pass away this last week and so we are going to pray for the family that god continue to strengthen them and be with them in this time of loss and there will be more details of this service coming up in the near future so if you want to participate you can amen sister rebecca are you ready amen come on like that today actually not when i was at age but today yes amen and so family we have the privilege that god entrusts in our hands now he's entrusted in these parents in their hands these children but as a part of the family of god in this local village he has also entrusted them into our hands because there are their sunday school teachers sitting in this room there are those that will be a voice of wisdom to them when they get older sitting in this room their youth pastor is sitting in this room you see it takes a village to help these little ones make it to heaven amen because sometimes they're not going to receive it from mom and dad have you been there before right you t you've been a teenager before sometimes you need that outside source and this needs to be a safe place now there's a competition brother but jamario i think we have a burpee competition up here [Laughter] anybody else want to join in [Applause] amen all right oh lord all right can i have you guys attention real quick just a little tiny bit of time amen so family why don't we do this why don't we stand right now and we're going to pray for these children pray for these families that god will bless them anoint them with purpose and that god will at their appointed time call these children unto him into their own relationship with jesus because we all know that we cannot make it to heaven on our own we need help we need help to get there but at the same time there comes a time where we have to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling so we're going to pray for these children that god would lead and guide them and then when it comes to their appointed time that they'll be able to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling and that when the world turns against them and when society comes against their beliefs they'll be able to stand firm on what they believe in their relationship with jesus christ let's pray lord in jesus name right now god we pray for our god that you will be with her jesus lord right now in jesus name god we pray lord that you will just keep your hand upon her lord god from this day jesus i pray that she is in your kingdom god she is entering into relationship with you lord god she's being dedicated to you with purpose jesus right now jesus touch her mighty god be with her lord every day jesus give her peace lord let her feel loved or let her feel comfort jesus right now mighty god i pray jesus and lord this family stands in agreement god that you will save her god you will save her thank you jesus for reaching her thank you lord for being with her god we pray for mom and dad jesus that you will be with them god grant them wisdom jesus give them direction mighty god lord help them jesus in their journey as parents god as they lead care almighty god to your presence save them lord help them jesus lord give them lord wisdom be on years thank you jesus for being with them lord thank you for this family jesus and lord god we pray for sebastian right now jesus thank you for this baby jesus thank you lord for touching him right now mighty god at his appointed time lord call him deeper into relationship with you jesus lord touch this family right now in jesus name lord let your spirit mighty god quicken us together god and lord i pray lord a hedge of protection jesus lord god that no weapon formed against shall prosper but god you're going to make us conquerors jesus right now in jesus name we thank you for these children we thank you god for calling them lord into your kingdom and lord right now touch mom and dad jesus lord lead and guide them jesus grant them wisdom jesus lord god give them the words to speak lord in the darkest of times lord let them be a source of light and hope and peace jesus thank you god for using these parents lord thank you lord for using these families lord using these children god according to your purpose and your glory we give you praise we give you honor almighty god hallelujah jesus thank you god for doing this work in these families in jesus name in jesus name amen now there are some things that we can do in here now family you can be seated you don't have to stand for this but you do have to witness this so rebecca and travis you guys are first all right so rebecca since you're walking first you get to sign first all right and so you're signing right laura for being baptized in jesus name for the remission of sins thank you jesus amen amen so we dedicated some babies and we got some new babies praise god amen anybody that's baptized in jesus saying the bible says in a new creature old things pass away and all things become new and so it is a new birth it is a rebirth and it brings your spirit to life and so when somebody gets baptized in jesus name re-rejoice because there's a new name written down in glory there's somebody who's been reborn into relationship with jesus and it's a new birth it's a new baby and so if you've never been baptized in jesus name for the remission of sins you can do that today we'll invite you at the end of this service to make your way up to the baptistry we've already got the clothing for you we've already got the hair dryers we got the combs we got we got the little sandals you don't even have to get your feet dirty you can wear a sandal all the way to the baptistry and get baptized in jesus name for the remission of sins and start a new life and people that come up out of the water my favorite thing to ask is how do you feel and without fail it's i feel new i feel fresh i feel light i feel lifted and it's like well we didn't i had one guy say did you put electricity in the water i said no why would we do that no we don't put electricity in the water it's just water until the name is applied and then when the name gets applied the value of that water supernaturally changes because no longer is it just water but it becomes my birthing of my new man and the coffin in the grave of my old man as i'm resurrected in newness of life with jesus christ and so yes it's just water that's all it is but when you get the name of jesus in there oh something happens when you put the name of jesus when you activate the power associated with that name something happens amen amen one more that was baptized we have baptized over 20 people in the last month as they have come to the relationship with jesus christ as god continues to move jesus is saving souls jesus is still drawing in compelling souls into his kingdom because we know time is short and when time is short god does not want any to perish but for all to come unto repentance and we are seeing an increase in harvest as god is drawing and compelling those that he wants and needs to save but really he wants to save everybody but not everybody's ears are attuned to his voice and not everybody is responding to the tug of the heart and so those that respond god saves amen also baptized in jesus name brother the honest offer congratulations baptized in jesus name for the remission of sins amen thank you jesus thank you jesus it was almost a month ago now where you sat about right where you were at the end of service and you had your hands up and something happened what happened to you when you lifted your hands up and began to pray what did you do you got the holy ghost i looked down over the lonzo canada was praying for him and i looked over alongside canada had the biggest smile on his face and the biggest thumbs up and yes for the harness was filled with the gift of the holy ghost as jesus christ entered into his body and filled him up with his spirit amen and so new birth baptism in jesus name and holy ghost and filling that's what the bible tells us the new birth being baptized in jesus name and being filled with the gift of the holy ghost and i got to tell you something that once you get the new birth experience it doesn't end there you just can't come and do that and then that's how you're once saved always saved it doesn't work that way when you come to my tuesday night class and when i talk and i if you come and get baptized i'll share this with you that i no longer want a tesla okay thank you but the courtney has delivered me of that want and that desire so i'm okay now i don't know what kind of car i want so i'm okay i'm just happy i'm content with cars praise god thank god for being content in cars but if i wanted a tesla let's just say that i went and put ten thousand dollars down on my beautiful tesla once i put ten thousand dollars down i'd still have to pay 1500 a month hey hey hey hey praise god do i want to live in my tesla hey man so i'm going to put ten thousand dollars down on my beautiful tesla and i don't pay 1500 ever again i don't pay the 1500. what's going to happen to my tesla it's going to get repo'ed my salvation is very much the same way that if all i do is i come make the down payment as the bible tells us is the down payment of our inheritance if all i do is make that down payment that's all i do then my salvation just like my beautiful tesla can be repoed i'm not once saved always saved that's why i'm here on a sunday that's why i'm praying on a monday that's why i'm reading my bible every day that's why i should be fasting that's why i should be in line doing my spiritual disciplines because everything i'm doing that aligns with kingdom of god in christ is making payments and as i make payments one day i will finally reach salvation and salvation will be offered unto me when jesus finally says well done thou good and faithful servant enter into the joy of the lord but until that day i have to keep making payments so that's what we're doing here today making more payments making more payments on salvation as we continue to grow in relationship with almighty god our eternal everlasting father amen going to the word of the lord this morning if we can all stand in honor of god's word second corinthians chapter four second corinthians chapter four verses three to six and then we're going to jump down to verses 16 to 18 second corinthians chapter 4 verses 3 to 6 and then 16 to 18 and as you find that i just want to remind you that the summer festival is a community outreach okay so be sure on your way out to pick up a flyer okay we made these flyers uh the summer festival flyer so you want to make sure that you pick one of these up on your way out to pass out to somebody else and invite them to come and it's a way to reach our community and showcase who we are to our community and so um please help us take some flyers pass them out and i am praying for a great increase of the harvest i'm praying for god to bring more into his kingdom and use each of us to do it amen isn't it incredible we get to be involved in what god's doing we get to play a part on what god's doing do you see the part you're playing do you see your part amen second corinthians chapter four verses three to six and even if our gospel is veiled it is veiled to those who are perishing the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of christ who is the image of god do you know anybody who's blinded do you know somebody who cannot see the glory of christ for what we preach is not ourselves but jesus christ as lord and ourselves as your servants for jesus sake for god who said let the light shine out of darkness made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of god's glory displayed in the face of christ the lord gave us his light why are we not blinded why can we see because we have the light verse 16 if we have the light if christ has made his glory known unto you therefore we do not lose heart though outwardly we are wasting away yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day for our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all so we fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal so if you'll permit me just for the next few moments to preach to you on this topic what do you see what do you see lord right now in jesus name we thank you for your presence god we thank you for your spirit even right now in this room your spirit is quickening us together and right now god i pray an anointing rest upon your word lord jesus the word that you've given i pray it goes forth right now in jesus name and god i pray that you soften our hearts soften our minds right now lord we pray mighty god for faith to rise in this room and god for fear to be destroyed for pride to be destroyed right now in jesus name god bring us into a place of unity god where your spirit can freely move and bring transformation and change right now jesus we thank you for what you're doing in this place and what you're going to continue to do lord going forward in this room in our presence thank you jesus for the great work you're going to accomplish today we give you praise we give you honor we give you glory in jesus name in jesus name and everyone say amen tell somebody you love them as you're seated i love you it's good to see you in the house of the lord on sunday morning amen i love you we love everybody [Music] amen we love everybody praise god i've got my illustration ready today amen what do you see i gotta stop being so fidgety i keep dropping everything did you know i like to fidget i do like to fidget i am the worst when it comes to when you see a tag on a stuffed animal you just see a tag you just see something that says may tell or it's got the list of how what you can and can't do or how you should wash it or how you shouldn't wash it you just see a tag but i see hours of delight because i am a tag roller i love rolling tags if you come to my house and if you see all the stuffed animals tags yes they are all rolled because while my children play and they're done playing with their toys i'll go get it and begin to roll the tag because i am a tag roller i love rolling tags and so you what you may see is just something that oh it's not really that important it's not that big of a deal but for me oh it's so enjoyable it's just so stress relieving just ah the tag the rolling of the tag and i will take tags off my shirts just so i can roll them yes i have issues but doesn't everybody praise god you see what you see and what i see may toot maybe two different things when i look at something i may see it a certain way in a certain light with a certain understanding and the way you look at something you'll perceive it completely differently they could say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder right you've heard that before i didn't make that one up i don't think beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so you could say that it's beautiful i could say that it's beautiful but you may not agree with me because beauty is in the eye of the beholder i think this is beautiful i think this is beautiful i want to introduce you to one of my girlfriends her name is hot spicy and she only says what i tell her to say sometimes she says the wrong thing because i'm telling her to say the wrong thing she did a lot of that today you said a lot of wrong notes today you did you see i see this as beautiful but there are some in this room that would say i don't i don't see the beauty in that what is that just a guitar it's only a base i mean what's so beautiful about that my wife says oh it's your go play go go play your girlfriend i'm like okay i'm gonna go play my girlfriend go spend time with your girlfriend i'm gonna go contact my girlfriend she says stop spending time with your girlfriend stop spending time with my girlfriends but what you don't see in the beauty of all this i see i see it in the beautiful flamed maple top and the tulip wood body and the wing neck and the winggay fretboard and the bartolini pickups and the hip shot tuners and hardware all like they're so beautiful i'm a tree hugger you may not see the beauty in all this but i do and you may see things that are beautiful that i may not exactly see because beauty is in the eye of the beholder but there are some things that every one of us can agree on that it is beautiful like the very first time that anybody visits yosemite national park and has anybody been to yosemite okay now how many think yosemite is beautiful every hand that was lifted is now lifted again because yosemite is really beautiful there are some things that we look at and we can all agree upon what we all see as being beautiful or being amazing or awe-inspiring or overwhelming we can enjoy a togetherness and the way we perceive if we look at what we are viewing under the same understanding and same perspective like for example beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but i believe my wife is beautiful and everybody in this room believes my wife is beautiful did i get brownie points [Laughter] no but in all seriousness mae is the most beautiful person i know she's beautiful on the inside and the outside and god has truly blessed us amen god has blessed us huh i heard you say something and so when i'm looking at something i want to be sure that i've got the correct perspective or the lens in which i'm choosing to look through because here's the thing i could look at what's happening in the world around me right now and i can look at my situation and although i could say oh i'm really going through it and somebody else could come to me and say oh i know all about it i can respond you don't know all about it have you looked through my glasses lately have you looked through the lens of my life lately have you lived where i've lived lately do you know where i am because truth be told you will even view your situation the way you view it versus how i would view it why because you're living in it i'm not and when you're living in the midst of it it's hard to look beyond it when you're living in the midst of your hell it's hard to get beyond the hell you're living in and see a promise on the other side because you're looking through a filter and a lens that all you can see is your problem all you can see is the difficulty all you can see is how tough and how hard it is but if i could begin to look through a perspective of jesus christ and i could begin to see that almighty god can shape me through this moment that my thorn is my salvation that the thing i'm going through the very thing i'm struggling with is the very thing that's going to make me stronger you may be going through it right now but when i come in temptation i count at all joy because i know that god is perfecting a lord inside of me and so when i'm going through it again and i'm going through the same situation again and i'm visiting hell all over again oh it's where you walk in you're like oh no that's the natural way that's that's the natural tendency oh no i gotta go through this again are you serious i already dealt with it i already did it i got the t-shirt that says been there done that concrete i've done all that but i gotta go through it again i gotta keep going through it well hey it's about time instead of me approaching my situation with my head down because my situation isn't going anywhere it's time for me to approach my situation full of faith with my head up lined up with jesus christ and let god work i gotta let jesus move i gotta let jesus operate dave take your hands off and let god put his hands on i gotta get out of the way so he can get in the way i was there last week we were talking about it last week but let me remind you the reason why you're still bound by your situation is because you're still hanging on to it what do you see when you look at your hell what do you see when you look at the trauma of your life what do you see when you look at the pain of yesterday what do you see what do you see when you look through the eyes of your life in the filter of where you've lived and where you've been because it's easy to look at the trauma and the pain of yesterday and say i've been shaped and i've been hurt by this and there's nothing that's going to change that it's just who i am because this is what was done to me this is just how i behave because it's what i've learned from my experience this is just a part of me if you keep talking like that that's exactly what it's going to be for the rest of your life you're going to constantly have a crutch for the rest of your life that says oh i'm this way because of how i was treated oh i'm this way because of what i've gone through oh it's i'm this way because of what i've experienced oh i'm this way but if you'll just get your eyes off of your momentary moment of pain and heartache and drama and begin to get your eyes on jesus [Applause] oh yeah it's not that it's not that complicated no there's not rocket science here no no it's pretty simple but it's pretty hard it's an easy formula you just gotta surrender it to jesus oh but saying it and doing it two different things oh i can say it god i'm gonna give you my heartache i'm going to give you my situation i'm going to give you my pain god i forgive lord today i forgive god tomorrow i forgive yesterday i forgive god i forgive god i forgive not ever again let me tell you first of all that when you gotta forgive somebody sometimes it's a daily thing sometimes your forgiveness doesn't just happen once but sometimes that person that's wronged you has to be forgiven daily because otherwise if you can't forgive how can my heavenly father forgive me [Applause] that's hard oh my goodness that's hard you mean you want me to forgive that person you don't know how deep they cut me they wronged me they won't stop wronging me you want me to forgive them if you want your victory and you want your freedom then your victory and freedom as a result of your forgiveness because until i learn to forgive and it's really learning and it's really practicing you don't learn until you practice you know that you don't learn until you practice they say when we're talking about musicians and musicians have practice time and yes i still have practice time even since i've been playing since i'm 18 years old i still have practice time you can never stop practicing so all the musicians in the room don't stop practicing keep practicing practice your tool practice your craft you cannot stop but they say an individual that practices a musical instrument for 10 000 hours becomes proficient in it unless you're mean you keep practicing the same thing for ten hours ten thousand hours straight right i played lately the same thing for ten hours ten thousand hours straight yeah i practice and i mastered that same thing and so if i'm going to become a master of forgiveness i got to keep practicing it i got to keep practicing i got to keep doing it i can't just do it once and stop because here's the thing i'm not going to be able to forgive tomorrow when i'm going to have to because unforgiveness it doesn't hurt anybody but yourself you think that your unforgiveness hurts that person no they're good they're fine they don't care that they're hurting you yeah and sometimes they don't even know they're hurting you but here's the thing if i can't let it go and give it to god and forgive it's that unforgiveness inside of me that can turn to bitterness in bitterness once it's already taken its course and done bitterness destroys every relationship in your life it will destroy everything in your life so i've got to practice forgiveness i've got to practice this daily at times in my life because i don't want to look at my situation the way i've been looking at it for so long i keep seeing the same thing it hasn't changed my situation hasn't changed your situation hasn't changed i keep looking at it the same way and if i keep looking at it the same way i'm going to keep getting the same results so what i got to do is i got to begin to look at my situation through a different perspective i got to begin to see the unseen i've got to begin to see what you cannot see with your natural eye i've got to begin to look beyond what i can naturally see and step into the unseen and begin to see what god sees let me be honest with everybody in this room today okay i'm going to be honest and transparent with everybody in this room and i guess everybody who's watching too but my mother right now her mental state is something i have to deal with every day every day i get an average 10 to 20 phone calls every day and every phone call is the same thing are you okay i'm just checking on you you're not going anywhere tonight right satan's not coming for us tonight right we're not going to hell tonight right you're not in hell your boys aren't in hell right the boys aren't in hell the boys aren't going to hell they're okay right everybody's nobody's in hell right everybody's okay i'm so scared i'm so scared i'm so scared you're going to hell you're going to hell you can look at that situation every day the same thing phone number pops up you know what it's going to be you know the questions are going to be asked you know the conversation how it's going to go you know exactly you've got it pinpointed down it's been that way for years you know exactly what's going to happen what do you do will that mean answering that phone call even help who knows will it bring peace to her tormented mind i don't know you could say man i'm i'm so angry right now i just don't have time to deal with this i know exactly what's going to be said i know exactly how it's going to happen i know exactly i know everything about i'm done with this it's been the same thing forever i'm over this just forget it pull the plug i'm done or suppress the humanity say god this may be the current situation but lord you see beyond the current you see beyond where i am right now and so god i don't know if this is going to help or not but hello yeah yeah we're still here yeah everything's okay yeah okay i love you too you see because right now if all you can see is the momentary situation that you're living in you cannot even see beyond to the possibility of an alternate reality because here's the thing i can look at my mother's situation right now and what do i see i see hurt i see pain i see a sickness that has tried to destroy my family i see something that reminds me of so much pain or i can subject my life once again to jesus christ and look back at how it's been a shaping and been a making that god has used to pour more of him into me and then i can begin to look beyond once i've reconciled that and say okay god you've been in the midst of all this okay god i can see where you've been at work okay god i understand okay lord i'll submit to your working i'll submit to what you're doing i'll submit to the progress that you're working in me i'll submit to the process and god here's the thing once i submit to the process i'm not going to look anymore where i'm at but i'm going to look beyond and i'm not going to see as it is now but i'm looking beyond to a moment of healing to a moment of miracle and i begin to see the unseen i'm not going to let the scene stop me from getting to the unseen because if we're not careful what we'll do is we will allow what we can tangibly currently see prevent us from reaching what god has planned and the things we cannot see what perspective are you looking through what lens are you looking through are you looking through fear are you looking through pain you're looking through pride looking through brokenness what kind of lens are you looking through today what do you see josiah can you help me today please come on up here so josiah you have perfect vision think so well you don't have to have work you don't have to wear glasses so that's good see if i take these glasses off i can't even i see the eye and that's all i see i see a circle and i think i know it's a pc and i know underneath it says international pentecostal church right yeah okay so i i can't even see that i just i'll blur it's just like it's just like this line yeah yeah you know the first time i got glasses i put them on i looked up at the top of the trees and i said oh wow trees do have tops i just thought the trees dissolved into the sky just are they wet oh okay that's how i put glasses on it was oh they are they do stop up there they are defined up there yes so yes i'm practically blind you know i actually lose my glasses and i can't even find them like they blend into everything and just like i don't know what you everything blends in when i step on the scale without my glasses on i can't see if i'm 100 pounds or 80 pounds it's great i'm just i'm losing weight praise god i just keep them off take them off i step on the scale yep i'm down five pounds a day praise god and then i put the reality check on it so but you have perfect vision we don't have to worry about that today right you're good glory to god okay so since you have perfect vision i want you to put those on [Music] blurry everything's really blurry what colors do you see well it's like rainbow right here rainbow yeah okay all the colors all the colors okay yeah all right so i can still see the ipc though well that's good praise god at least we can see ipc all right so take those off okay let's put these on maybe these will help better oh you have more yeah i'm i'm covered today okay this is more pink more pink there's more pinks yeah more pink so not quite the same color scheme as that how many of me are there there's still a lot of you know still a lot of it okay more than one oh more than merrier praise god good i like this guy so pinks yeah yeah and you still see a lot of things yeah there's nothing really defined no what about up there still there's like a big ring like right here that's a light yeah yeah yeah yeah this is one big light oh it's cool what are you talking about how's it cool let me see oh yeah that's actually really cool well you know what you can hang on to that after colors do you see uh i don't know it's kind of dark there's some oranges okay some yellow okay now how many of me are there there's a lot more a lot more unlike these glasses these are great glasses for an only child that's the best thing you can hear right there praise god you know for national national siblings you guys know there's one of those there's a natural national siblings day and i took selfies four selfies of myself and put them together with all different poses just look in the mirror just look in the mirror with those yeah you see what i say josiah is i'm the smartest of my siblings i'm the best looking of my siblings i'm the tallest of my siblings praise god so which one out of these three is the best uh the black ones the black ones were the best wait we're closest yeah they're black the black ones were the best yeah okay so i like those pink ones though thank you yeah those are actually they're yours they are they are mine i did buy them yes thank you i actually i'm gonna go try them on after we're done i'll take it back okay so now it's how can you see really good really good now perfectly perfectly yeah yeah as you did before you really see julian now you can really scream you can really see the sign now yeah yeah the car is outside and everybody's much more defined and distinct and you can tell who's who now absolutely so you took the glasses off now you can see better yeah because you had perfect vision before you put the glasses on okay so josiah for your help today there you go you see it matters what filter you look through it matters what you put before your eyes as you begin to look through and see the world around you you see when i come into relationship with jesus the most purest vision i can have is his vision the most purest perspective that i can have is his perspective but what happens is life begins to happen and i begin to put on different filters i begin to put on pain put on trauma put on fear put on pride i begin to look at my life in the world around me from so many different filters to where i no longer see clearly what do you see as musicians come i'm wrapping up do you see the distortion do you see the brokenness do you see or in the case of these glasses you really don't see many of us don't even see we can't even see the scene because of how many filters we're looking through you see from my own situation in my own life i can look at the present situation something that is painful something that is difficult something that is hard because of mental illness my children will not have a normal relationship with their grandmother because of mental illness i do not have a normal relationship with my mother because of mental illness the nurturing the caring the one who should love the most because of sickness and worry and anxiety causes pain and i can look at that situation through the perspective of pain because it's painful i can look at the situation to the perspective of anger because it makes you angry i could look at the situation through the perspective of pride which is oh i'm not going to deal with that no i'm better than that i could look at the situation through all different kinds of filters but the truth is i'll never see the purpose of the situation until i take all the filters off and when i begin to take all the filters off i begin to take all the filters and i've been looking through and i take them off i begin to look begin to look at it as jesus sees it yet although there's so much there you don't have the time to go through all the layers and the difficulties and the mixed up emotions and mindsets the roller coaster of emotions you've got this incredible overwhelming situation that goes beyond anything that you can think or imagine and you can see it as devastating you can see it as horrible you can see it as no good you can begin to see it through the site with no filters and i begin to see and answered prayer and answered prayer why because my mom would share with you the story right now if she could i should tell you the story of how when i was a baby and i was dedicated to god like what we did here today she said i said a prayer i said god whatever you have to do to me save my son god whatever you have to do to me use my child [Music] and i got to tell you [Music] even though it's so painful [Music] even though it's so difficult when you take all the filters off [Music] you take off every one of those filters the bitterness the anger the hatred the pain the turmoil the heartache you take off all those filters when i take them all off and i look at the situation i can see god [Music] through her sickness you have saved me the turmoil that she's gone through what the sickness has done to our family it has saved me because it put me on my knees it gave me a tighter greater relationship with jesus than any other thing in this world could do so i can look at the situation and i can be angry but really when i take the filters off there's no anger inside when i take the filters off there's no bitterness inside when i take the filters off i surrender the pain to god and say god you take it god you're greater than all this anyways when i take all the filters off i can truly see god's hand at work and then once you can see god's hand do you know what that does for you it builds your faith it builds your faith and then once your faith is built what do you begin to do you begin to see the unseen you begin to see that which is not seen because god is not letting you see through your filter [Music] but he's letting you see through his perspective [Music] and i will tell you here today right now the trauma you've gone through and the pain you've gone through if you let it it will destroy you but if you can change your focus and change your perspective the very thing that satan intended to destroy you is the very thing that's going to make you the thing that satan allowed to happen intending your destruction god says know what satan meant for evil i'm gonna make it good [Applause] let's all stand in this place my question is what do you see are you blinded are you blind you just don't see has my heart been so turned a rock solid to where god can't even move me anymore i'm just blinded by my own filters that put before my eyes [Music] because here's what happens the more of those filters you put together the more distortion you have and before you know it you're blind you can't see anything [Music] i don't want to be blind i don't want to be blind to what god is doing i don't want to be blind to how god is working you could say oh this world is looking bad i don't know what's going to happen i'm unsure how are things going to end up i'm not i'm not entirely sure everything the news is horrible i'm looking to the filter of the news i see all this i looked at the milk filter of social media get the filters off [Music] get the filters off [Music] take off the distractions take off the distortions [Music] rather than seeing the world around you and the way that the world wants you to see it begin to see it as jesus sees it [Applause] because the world paints a picture of what they want you to believe and what they want you to see and they they're painting a picture of it's bleak and it's grim and there's no hope but i can look in the bible and jesus doesn't tell me there's no hope jesus doesn't tell me there's no love jesus doesn't tell me there's no salvation no jesus says there's love jesus says there's hope jesus says there is life after this and we can have it you can look at your situation and say there's no hope oh but i can look at jesus and jesus tells me there's hope [Music] [Applause] there's hope for me there's hope for you you can say pastor maya my situation's impossible join the club my situation is impossible but i know a god that operates in the impossible [Applause] i just have to take the filters off i have to take those filters off [Music] i got to take the lie of satan out of my mind i gotta take the lie of myself out of my mind [Music] i gotta submit myself to god and his purpose [Music] the only way that i have survived and i'll be honest with you the only way that i have survived [Music] is because instead of running from jesus getting away from jesus because jesus caused it all jesus let it happen if god's a good god how could he do this for those of you that don't know i've been dealing with this since i was 16 years old came back from that trip in africa and i left my mother she was fine and when i came back she was schizophrenic manic depressive i've been dealing with it since i was 16. [Music] i'm still dealing with it but here's the thing the only way you will survive as if instead of running from jesus you run to jesus [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so when i run to him what do i do [Music] take those filters off say god help me see as you see i'm not going to run from you god i'm going to trust that you work everything out for the good to them that love god are called according to his purpose god i'm not going to try to understand your work but god i'm gonna trust that you are working because god i don't understand your work i don't understand your process i don't understand your procedures i don't understand what you're trying to do but don't i trust you god i may not be happy with my situation but that's okay lord because i'm gonna trust you my situation's not okay but god i will trust you god i may be going through hell and it may be painful and lord it may be impossible but i trust you this altar is open if you feel that way today you want to trust jesus you want to trust jesus you want to run to him stop running from him and run to him you want to come take those filters off lay those filters on the altar and say god i'm done lord i'm done looking through my perspectives and what i'm going through we live for you god i want to see what you see [Music] lord i want to see the unseen god [Music] lord i want a saint to rise i want my faith to rise i want [Music] lord keep me from i'm gonna reach out jesus [Music] [Music] there god no one like you there is a jewish lord god i don't want to see as i see but god let me see jesus [Music] worthy of all the praises [Music] [Music] jesus [Music] worthy of every breath we could ever be [Music] there jesus [Music] there is no one like is [Music] oh that's it go ahead surrender surrender your head let it go [Music] i will put my i will build [Music] i will i will i will oh oh who you are show me who you are oh i will [Music] is oh [Music] there is who you are me [Music]
