[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] amen what a beautiful congregation on a beautiful sunday morning let's start by lifting our voice to god and giving him praise for the mighty and wonderful things that he has done i bless you lord and glorify you jesus i exalt you today and lift you up i will bless you and praise you above all things that are ongoing in my life i will magnify you for there's none like you in all the earth none like you in all the heavens above lord you are beautiful and true and powerful thank you for redemption thank you for the gospel thank you for loving me i bless you today with all of my heart i glorify you jesus i magnify you thank you jesus amen we're starting off just a little bit different today as you can see already we do want to give honor to all of our guests welcome you we're glad that you're here this morning i do not want to be in a city that does not have a travailing church a praying church a strong church positioned by the gates of hell retrieving even as the flames take hold [Music] we must be above all else a house of prayer we must [Music] as we thought and considered how we might remember last sunday remember and move forward from the one year anniversary of hurricane laura our focus was prayer and promise many things to be thankful for many things we still have need of but prayer and promise will get us through now our plans for last week were put on hold because of another storm that came through and we thank you for your support in helping us minister and there's more to be done but today we want to pause and just start this service off as a means of saying jesus we recognize your blessing but we also recognize our need for you amen to do this we have i believe a wonderful start in just a moment pastor jared is going to come and he's going to lead us off in a prayer for our life groups and here's the focus we must remain very engaged in the purpose whereby we are here to win souls to love this city and one of the most important things we can do is pray for the harvest and our life groups are a key component to that endeavor after him summer will come up she's going to pray a blessing over our children she has a beautiful blessing she's going to pray and i want us to adhere to what she has to say and as she prays these words i want you to speak this over your family now as you leave today she has put together something that you will take with you when you get home and you will be able to to tomorrow guide them through prayer and they will be available when you leave today after she has finished praying sarah imran is going to come and pray over youth and p7 endeavors god has anointed her this year to work in her school inspired of calvary to win the lost [Applause] i am blessed to bring a soul winner like her to this pulpit for prayer and then my wife has written a beautiful statement of blessing and prayer that will guide us into a song a powerful song that she will describe in her presentation it'll be just a moment they're going to pray quickly and after she has finished praying they will begin that song and when they begin that song our pastors will come down here and we have here across the front oil to be taken home prayer claws that have already been anointed over and prayed over if you want one for your business for your home to plead the blood to ask for god's favor we invite you at that time to come down come down as a family we'll be here as pastors to pray with you they've already been prayed over but if you want a blessing in that moment come if you want to wait i'm sure a few will come and then drift back and if you want to wait so that we're not overcrowded in the front that's fine but we're going to take time to pursue the lord we're going to take time to seek his face we're going to take time to honor him and i am confident that he will meet us here today at this point of prayer [Applause] let me read for you today a verse of scripture found in acts chapter 2 this is after the holy ghost has been poured out and this is what it says acts chapter 2 verse 46 and then continuing daily with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart praising god and having favor with all the people and the lord added to the church daily such as should be saved so i rise this morning to bring to you and pray with you i want you to help pray with me today over this group and over all our life groups these two words unity and salvation unity and salvation that we would come together in unity for the purpose of god for this year for this fall and that god would add to the church such as should be saved would you help me right now pray these things right now god in the name of jesus we pray for unity to envelop our church we pray for unity of spirit we pray for unity of heart we pray for unity of purpose let our heart beat god be in serving one another come in unity god of the spirit let the spirit of unity come upon us god invade us let it be today god that by the evidence of your spirit being in this house that unity would come upon us let the power of god move in our midst today let the spirit of unity come in here in this place in our midst as we praise you right now in jesus name in jesus name in jesus name and god right now now that we've come in agreement now that we're all in agreement that unity is going to happen i pray for an anointing upon every life group leader upon every member of this church god add to the church daily such as should be saved i pray that the north the south the east and the west will give up souls in the name of jesus and to the kingdom i pray for southwest louisiana god that the angel that visited cornelius god would visit our area in jesus name draw them to our life groups draw them into our homes but god draw them into our church and into the kingdom of god let there be baptisms in the spirit oh god in our future right now in jesus name in jesus name begin to work god right here let purpose happen right here in jesus name lord we pray it in the mighty name of jesus give him a handclap of thy dwelling for he shall give his angels charge over thee and all and will keep thee in all thy way god we praise you for your love and your faithfulness we thank you for your protection and for your care over our children we know that you were for them and that you fight for them daily we pray that they will know you as restorer redeemer and their friend let your glory shine on their beautiful faces and make steady their steps we release them to you so that you can fully accomplish all your desires through them and in them we ask that you cover them with your truth and that with your favor god i pray peace in their minds right now in the name of jesus god touch their hearts i pray god that passion will fill their hearts right now god put revival in their heart god make us revivalist so lord god set our bones on fire lord god we claim your promise and joshua 1 3 it says that everywhere that the soul of your foot shall tread apart that you've given us that land so god now i pray that as these infinite as these hyphens walk into their colleges and their high schools and their workplaces i pray god that you would give us that land that that territory doesn't belong to the devil it belongs to you lord those souls belongs to you lord jesus god help us o lord god oh hallelujah lord i pray your blessings upon every youth in this room god i pray your favor in the name of jesus god i pray that you would shower us with your grace o lord god teaches god that if we make you the center of our lives that god you will carry us you will sustain us o lord you will be light for us by night in a cloud for us by day in the name of jesus i praise you god lord help us god guide us let go let god let your perspective align with let our perspective align with yours oh god oh lord hallelujah prayers that have been prayed this morning since we've started service have been targeted with faith and set forth over this what just happened it was set forth over our church as a prophetic decree i don't know what you if you know that that's just what happened just now we have joined together in prayer believing that god will cover every aspect of our church in favor and direction wisdom and unity in these upcoming months so this is what we're doing what i want to set forth in us from for right now having the prayer that we've just prayed is to activate that covering that is in us to the people that we will encounter in the days ahead i want every prayer that is prayed here today to have a vehicle to go forth into the homes and lives of those in southwest louisiana louisiana that vehicle and that power comes from us speaking blessings outside of these walls our words have great influence in the lives of those around us and spoken blessings can bring hope encouragement and direction to our families many people are experiencing deepening relationships and spiritual encouragement as they discover the power of spoken blessings now a spoken blessing is a positive biblical statement that invokes the blessing of god in the life of another so the power of spoken blessings comes from god in ephesians 1 and 3 it states because he hath blessed us with spiritual blessings and heavenly places in christ a blessing is an instrument of god's love when you bless others you direct god's goodness to them you intercede for them you stand in the gap for them as you come boldly into the throne of grace and faith when you're speaking blessings over your families you're positioning them possessing in them for the favor and the power of god your words and your focus are aligning yourself with the word of god his words are bringing life to your family into those that your blessing god really put this in my heart as of late and it was god the past year i felt compelled with my kids to be intentional with making sure in morning and at night we're praying prayers that are purposeful we're speaking scripture and we're worshiping aloud we're changing our language just to make sure we're bringing about a god and spirit consciousness in their everyday life but what's been driving in my spirit now is to position my kids in alignment with kingdom principles for them to hear the blessings spoken of their life that are considered heavenly blessings not what they're validated by this world and culture but what are considered heavenly blessings that god is the banner over their life so that one day they will begin to bless others because it's their second language in numbers 6 and 27 god showing forth aaron and his in the priest there and he's teaching them this about the importance of blessing the children of israel and he says in 27 so they will put my name on the israelites and i will bless them god instructs his priests to speak speak a blessing over god's people as they spoke the blessing something tangible was being imparted to the people you have to realize your words actually do something to the atmosphere so as they spoke the blessing a god would be begin to bless them so bringing this to a cultural point here for what we we recognize every day on march 6 2020 carrie job released on youtube a song based off the blessing found in number six again a priestly blessing spoken of the children of israel by aaron and the sons number six reads the lord bless you and keep you the lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you the lord turn his face towards you and give you peace by friday of that week after the song was released the pandemic had shut the world down kerry job says in an interview that they'd begun to write the song in late february and the events happening across the because of the events happening across the globe her team felt compelled to finish the song as we wrote the first verse she says the bridge just started to happen and we wrote about some of god's blessings and and the truths we we said just became lyrics sometimes i almost feel like we didn't write it i just felt like we are part of it don't you know god does move through our words right they worked tirelessly to complete the song and prepared and on march 6 when it was released just in time to position the country and the world for god's favor in the midst of unknown chaos despair so that it became an anthem during the shutdown and was sung on countless online church worship sets in homes in cars and hospital rooms different languages so on this sunday today we're going to sing this and we're going to proclaim and declare the blessings of the lord over your families and then we're going to encourage you to do the same right the lord bless you the lord keep you let his face shine on you he is gracious gracious to you his face will be toward you and he will give us peace so as we begin to sing the song sing it as a prophetic blessing into the next six months in your families on your job in your communities with your kids let the blessings of god be on your lips as you bless others we position ourselves for peace for favor my heart my intellect i give you my emotions i lift up your name even now what a spirit of recovery what a spirit of renewal abides in the house even now we're gonna do one more song and then i'm gonna lay out my heart [Music] you foreign thank you lord i asked i bless you lord i thank you for your word i thank you for your word i thank you for your word luke chapter 13 i believe we'll go ahead and move into the word luke 13 and 10. speaking of jesus and he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath behold there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity 18 years and was bowed together and could in otherwise lift up herself and when jesus saw her he called unto her heart unto him and said unto her woman thou art loosed from thine infirmities and he laid his hands on her and immediately she was made straight and glorified god and the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation because that jesus had healed on the sabbath day and said unto the people there are six days in which men ought to work in them therefore come and be healed and not on the sabbath the lord then answered him and said thou hypocrite doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall and lead them away to watering and not not this woman being a daughter of abraham whom satan hath bound lo these 18 years be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day and when he had said these things all his adversaries were ashamed and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him father bless your word in jesus name amen praise and worship did such a wonderful job today what a spirit fills this house even now i come to you with much trembling expectation so heavy in my spirit i do believe that god's going to do things today which we have not seen before they're going to be manifested in this service i don't come to you with might or strength matter of fact i'm very weak and my voice is weak my flesh is weak but spiritually i've never been stronger today it's not going to be by sword or spear but by the name of the lord jesus would bless us with his presence and man would not be glorified in it but he would be glorified just as we use language to communicate and in particular in the same way that we use imagery to convey a point so is the method of jesus thus when jesus determined to use the word loose here in luke 13. he does so with an intentional manner if jesus had said woman thy sins be forgiven thee arise she would have been healed or if he had said woman your faith made you whole she would have been cured just the same but jesus states woman thou art loosed from thy infirmities this is the only time in scripture that jesus is going to use the word loosed in releasing someone from illness and he does such with cause after he has loosed her the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation there are six days in which men ought to work and in them therefore come and be healed not on the sabbath now i've ridiculed this synagogue ruler before but he does have a point notice this keeper of the synagogue was in no manner taken back by the miraculous and that's what stuns us in regards to his response doesn't he see that a miracle is ongoing doesn't he notice the power at hand you have to understand these were god's people they were accustomed to god doing the unusual perhaps not in this specific passage but their history is one of miraculous power meanwhile though they're trying to figure out who jesus was they knew nicodemus had told on them that he was a man come from god but their focus was fundamental and not miraculous and we must get a hold on this we must miracles are going to happen among us through us and by us just as in the days of the apostles but there is more going on in this room than just the pursuit of the miraculous we are to hold to principle and the center of our principle is jesus christ and him crucified that's the message why is this important because if we put miracles in front of the message we lose sight of the messiah there is a man in the middle of all this and his name is jesus the only thing inferior to not living for jesus is to do so with a confused priority i don't serve jesus as an amendment to my life he is the center of my life his will is my highest priority life with the wrong priorities is a life without purpose miracles only have priority when they in purpose glorify who jesus is lord of all there is a man in the middle of all of this now notice the strategy that jesus uses he states woman thou art loosed and then comes the criticism for which he sets up as an illustration the criticism on any one of the six days that is not the sabbath you can act in such a manner and jesus says does not each one of you on the sabbath unfasten the ox and lead them to water look at what the lord does here he uses the word loose the only time he uses it for a miracle in verse 12 knowing their criticism is coming knowing they're going to disapprove knowing he's going to use that word loosed as a means of an illustration three verses later all as a means watch of quieting his critics the last verse of this passage tells tells us that they were left to shame here is the kind of kingdom focus i want jesus you are free to exercise my struggle to steal your enemies don't get frustrated he's using your misery to declare his message to his adversaries don't get discouraged when jesus's words seem unusual for your circumstance he's not talking to you he's talking to the authority that's trying to establish itself around you when he says loosed he's talking to an enemy that you might not even be mindful of if you're looking for a miracle and he hasn't spoken it yet it could be because he's waiting for your adversary to get into earshot of what he's going to say he's using your circumstances to affirm to his opponent his goodness and his nature your miracle is heaven's illustration your miracle is heaven's message your miracle is going to quiet the adversary don't worry he will come through and when he comes through there will be those around you that shake and tremble at the power of his voice let his time be fulfilled the miracle is on its way he's just got something to say to the devil that's going on in your life oh somebody say amen i'm gonna tell everybody what jesus has done that's what lazarus did think about the poor man he died because jesus was late i've sat in a doctor's office for an hour and a half thinking i might die jesus was three days and he said to his disciples he's dead and i'm glad that i might manifest my works through him and then when he brought him back from the cozy grave he brought him back into the life of his two sisters and they were crazy the scripture records it they were arguing he was at rest finally made it crossed over and jesus said no i got to prove something through your resurrection and then after he was raised from the dead his enemies determined to try to kill him how about being raised back to life only then again to fear being put back to death but it doesn't matter how inconvenient it may seem or how close the enemy might get if he awakens me to prove a point i'm going to live that point if he stirs in me a spirit of revival to spur my enemy to frustration so be it but i say god whatever you got to do let the fire of pentecost and the consuming glory that came forth in that upper room and spread throughout all of jerusalem let it find its way at first pentecostal church use us to prove your glory use us to quiet your adversary speak into this church the power of loose there's a man in the middle of all this he saw her this poor woman of 18 years in affliction he saw her though she could not see him note again she was powerless to help herself she tried again and again to lift herself up she had been unable to turn her eyes to the sunrise nowhere near being able to see the stars her vision held in a certain place scripture declares she couldn't know wise lift herself up it's an expression found in hebrews where jesus said that he's come to save to the uttermost she tried to the uttermost to lift herself up and failed when jesus entered the synagogue he saw her though she could not see him she's looking down but he's looking at her oh in the midst of us today the christ sees all we're unconscious of all the bondage that is setting all around us but he sees it perfectly well he sees our sin he sees our war out stories he sees our minds and the thoughts that have constantly trickled through them all week long all the reasoning as to why our heads are bent down he looks he sees us at our weakest point none of us are hidden from his gaze but trust me he hasn't come he hasn't come to strike us down according to the text his gaze is gratifying he's not looking to condemn he's looking to connect he's not looking to crucify he's looking to convert he's looking to make an example out of you with goodness the enemy wants you to think that god has risen up to smite you that he might prove his strength but he has it come to smite you that he might prove his strength he's come to bless you that he might prove his strength the enemy wants you to think that the power of god is held by his authority to overrule all of your goodness and bring about harm because you're not worthy but he comes in a different vein to say you're not worthy you're never going to be worthy but i give you my life and then after i have given you my life i will raise you up in goodness i will bless you in power i will give you my name i will give you my blood i will give you my spirit i will put into you the power to tread on serpents he hasn't come to beat us down he's come to pick us up [Applause] but though she was in the worst way watch though she was in the worst way something was still required of her jesus is in the habit of wanting something even in the worst cases he often exercised a request or a question to the crippled he said pick up your bed and walk to the blind man he said what do you want who asked a blind man what he wants jesus does and for this woman whose face is held to the ground he says to her come come whoa oh for this woman whose face was bent he said come can you see her shuffling toward him head pinned her feet sliding on the floor in her meager little way memory serving her with every slide to keep her from bumping into people or objects she knows the temple has been in it for many years from this perspective and jesus has the audacity to say come why to help us that we might know that even in our most bent state if he says come if i hear his voice and just get to him he will loose me from my infirmity [Applause] i can't do it today i can't do it today but i'll tell you one that can i've done everything i can to be as in the holy spirit as i can be i don't come to you with enticing words of man's wisdom i'm not trying to preach out of my intellect i am preaching out of my heart telling you that the holy spirit has come today and he says if you'll just try a little bit if you'll just hear my voice and try a little bit for some of you it's been 15 years since you stepped out and come down that aisle and it's going to be a little awkward and it's going to be a little bit of a shuffle but if you hear his voice if you hear his voice and say come come and you start walking he's going to do a work in your life of which you will never ever regret as long as you live not by might nor by power but by the power that created the earth and the heavens some might call it cruelty to call her to do such but life in christ is not fair it's faithful she's 18 years and yet faithful on this morning she shows up there there might have been or might not have been any kind of setting forth of jesus to the public that he was coming but let's assume either way let's assume first that it was noised abroad that means the crowd is going to be large she gonna have to bump bump bump bless her heart she can't even see she's faithful or let's assume that it wasn't noised abroad and that she's coming because on every sabbath that's what she does either way it wasn't easy to come but she came and when she got there she heard him say daughter of abraham i see you come here if i could just get you shuffling down this center out today a few weeks back levi my youngest little rascal six years old he gets his bath and mama's gone and and looky pooh's in the back room watching his ipad and levi he just can't can't stop you know dad can i go outside sure here's the truck keys go down to market basket get you something to eat out the door he goes you know it's dark it's dark so i go in the back as fast as i can to get my shoes try to make sure nothing eats him i walk out the back door i can't find him i walk all the way around the back around to the side and i come into the garage and i hear someone calling my name well when i walked out he had walked in another door right dad dad opened the garage door and his his face was was in another direction his back was to me and i said levi and when i said levi he go he's going dad dad i said levi he goes dad father have mercy on this community have mercy on this church have mercy on your son father jesus hear us when we pray jeffrey i just want to hear him call my name if he calls my name everything is going to be all right i can relax i can rest i can turn and face him and know he's got my back he's coming through his name is still above every name i come to tell you today he says come it's going to be hard it's going to be tough but if you'll start shuffling he'll call your name [Applause] her identity mattered to him it did when referencing to this woman he called her watch go back and read it verse 16 daughter of abraham oh he sees us in our crippled state but doesn't call us crippled he sees us deformed but doesn't call us so he sees us undone but doesn't doesn't recognize us in public as someone that's gapping but rather he calls us by our born again declaration ah by our spiritual root you're not crippled you're a daughter of abraham i don't see you as a cancer patient i see you as a product of the cross i don't see you in your deformity i see you as you have been born again oh if i could bring this to a much more deeper concept in the word i'd like to highlight that jesus did not call her daughter of abram but rather abraham when god called him into the covenant of promise in genesis 12 he was called abram but when he comes back in genesis 17 and calls him to a different covenant he said abraham here's what i'm going to do i need you to be circumcised i need you to mark in your flesh my covenant the first covenant was a covenant of promise the second covenant a covenant of striking the flesh hear me he says to this daughter of abraham it's going to cost to heal you sickness and disease daughter are the product of sin sin from the beginning and to be healed it's gonna cost you it's not just a covenant of abram it's a covenant of abraham there's got to be a cutting there's got to be blood but understand daughter it's not your blood that's going to have to be shed it's not your suffering that's going to have to be felt but the prophet looking through a glass darkly conveys but he was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed jesus looks at this gracious daughter and says i'm going to heal you while the covenant is heading to the striking post how much more today will the lamb who took upon himself those 39 brutal stripes how much more would he love to call you by name and as your shuffling put his hands upon you and say you're not going to have to pay the price it's already been paid by your coming in declaration of faith i heal you he can do it not because not because of any other reason that he bore the cross and he bore the stripes he can do it it's not going to be me that heals you today i have no stripes upon my back it's not going to be me that heals you today i have no marks in my hand but if you can look up and see the one that is resurrected above this building today the one of whom we worship continually you would realize that by his stripes you are called a daughter and a son not of abram but of abraham you are a son and a daughter of the blood let's turn our attention now as i get ready to close and i want you to bear your heart for just a moment today there are some people that have received a tremendous blessing and this morning you have already yielded a an exuberant and deep worship and you have made that commitment and felt the glory of god and you have been blessed and there are a few here today that god really wants to do the same abundantly but for all of us today we're going to pray with such depth of spirit as to ask god for healing healing for our homes for our marriages healings for our body healing for our mind healing i turn your attention back to the service here that was happening on the sabbath imagine what it must have been like in luke 13. jesus has already known well he sent out the 72 to bear record of his coming testify of his coming and this place welcomed him imagine the sermon that morning we don't know what he preached but we do know what he talked about in the parable right before so we'll use that as an indication to his teaching he taught of a fruit tree that was not bearing fruit beautiful green it seemed to have all the components that were necessary for bearing fruit but it was not productive so he talked about a husbandman who said let me dig about it for one more year and make it productive and so here he is on this sabbath saying to them you are the fruit tree and i am the husbandman now we can't fathom what this message meant how striking it was how commanding it was in this temple let me give you just a little bit of an understanding perhaps as to how how it came to be so powerful every sunday prior to this or saturday prior to this one you have to know what the message was that the ruler of the synagogue set forth every sunday you have to understand it's the same message that is spoken to their children the moment they began to comprehend one is coming one is coming the king which will unite all jews worldwide the king who will cause all the prophecies that have been uttered to come to formation that one known as the messiah is coming week after week year after year for generations soon they would cry out the disorder of sin will be removed israel restored present brokenness overwhelmed but not today he's coming we'll know he'll be born in a palace no doubt among the famed will know him from preach i've never preached before i'm about to convey to you something that i believe with all my heart a reasonable explanation of this phrase is derived from the term the terms that are used among a jewish concordance and jewish verbiage here's what it here's what it states in their law we find that to bind is to pronounce unlawful and to loose is to declare lawful so so if you do something that's unlawful you're bound if you do something that is lawful you are loosed the promise was that peter would uphold this and he did you know of how when he was called to go to the house of your body by the name of jesus you see jesus did not rearrange the natural and the supernatural laws to release this woman of her infirmities he did not let me say it again he did not release or bend natural or supernatural law he reverted back to an old genesis law the law of the beginning let me ask you what happens when you cut yourself what happens your body heals itself he made you with healing qualities in your body [Music] this is why he said this is why he said to the congregation that day released this woman from the clutch of satan because sin came by satan sickness sickness is an unwelcomed law this is why when jesus healed he would often say thy sins be forgiven thee because to him there was no difference i'm giving you a statement for you to understand listen to me your healing today is not nearly as far-fetched as you as you think it's going to be not nearly yakult all he does is pause the working of sins since the beginning of time and what's already in your body begins to fight and bring health and wellness to your being today if you need virtue in your body first thing i want you to do you've already done i said come and you came now today i want you to people that church is amazing and you know we were here for 28 days without electricity you know how important it was for us to have that generator to save our building and to provide for for our our workers a place of comfort i i've got to get them a generator i've got one i'm working on but i don't have any confidence if you have any way of helping me in this please see donnie culpepper donnie donna culpepper he's going to help me to get it down there they've got already have the gas diesel ordered they've got a pump coming in they just need they can't find one they can't find one and we're
