all right everybody already know the answer to this but how many of you have vowed to make 2014 a year that you get in shape well if you're looking for a good full-body workout I found one for you it's called battle ropes and here to show us how it's done in celebrity trainer Weil Torres well how you doing man yeah we'll where are you looking shape that's for dog dog show did not just talk to you all about looking thirsty will tell us about battle ropes well battle ropes are a relatively newer way to train your full body because they're great for improving your stamina improving power but most importantly really strengthening the core and the way you want to think about battle ropes is sort of like something really dynamic similar to a sprint so what do we need for this workout well as you can see we need a bit of space you're gonna need a high quality rope which you can find online they're about a hundred bucks but then you also need something to anchor it around this could work in some homes or you can find it at your gym but or you can just take it to a park and just find something to wrap it around and knock yourself out is just a good exercise for me and then women this is great for both men and women because it increases strength and endurance which is really important for men but it does so without bulking the muscles which is what women are looking for and when you do this consistently it ignites your metabolism and I think we can all use that okay are you gonna show us some moves we're gonna show some moves so the first thing we're gonna do Steve is what's really important with the ropes is precision you want to make sure you're doing them right I thought you had an assistant or something so do we is it or that we just turned into meat you okay but the first move we're gonna do is called a half kneeling alternating wave and what you're working here are your biceps you're glad you're the olders oops you just want to come down and then come up tall with your torso so abs are tight and then we're gonna alternate slamming the rope and what you want to do that's good a variation of this a variation is to stand up okay still do the alternating wave but then do a squat and then you're gonna come all the way all the way down there you go good like that was it yeah I like that one you're gonna like this one too okay this is a grapplers hip toss and what we're working here are your obliques your hips and your legs okay now we're going to slam the rope over to the left and when you come over you're gonna pivot your right foot so it's like this and then slam it to the right not gonna be able do that in these shoes nice nice nice um uh need somebody else up here okay what you got now the third the last the last one we're gonna do is a side shuffle side shuffle alright so here we're working the biceps or shoulders and the legs awesome vegan you're gonna start going up and down and then you're gonna shuffle to the right and shuffle to the left nice I got to stop a beef you go what let's have some music let's see what the moon look like together sick of it ok we'll do this yeah let's start on the kneeling at all and alternate separate your feet tie it up squat all the way up now switch the hands that takes a lot will he wants American Racing a battle roads and we all sit in the studio go Steve on tv.com he'll be right back
