hi everyone welcome back to my channel and in today's video i'm finally bringing you my full hair transformation i've been talking about it for weeks i finally removed my extensions i did my full color touch up and i filmed every step along the way [Music] so here's my before and after the aftercare portion of this video is sponsored by biologe i've often spoken on the importance of having the proper hair care as insurance to your beautiful color along with the steps that i took to get this color i'll be showing you my customized hair care using biology's hydrosource range so i did this transformation over about two and a half days doing hair on yourself is a little bit different than the way you get your hair done at the salon my channel is all about bringing you at home hair diy tips and tricks and i know that you guys love these videos of me doing my own hair also keep in mind everything that i used here today is specific for my hair and my hair coloring and my hair type doesn't necessarily mean that this is exactly what will work for you so if you are looking to get more personalized formulations keep in mind i am doing virtual consults i will leave all that information in the description box if you are interested in booking that with me so that you can get your very own personalized formulation that's going to get you the results you want on your hair so in this video i'm going to be showing you removing my extensions doing my full base color highlighting my hair doing a root tap and then an all-over toner so i personally think that your hair looks best maybe like a week after you've colored it just because it's kind of a little bit more lived in as a hairdresser i can always tell when hair is just like super freshly toned and i like it when it's a little more like organic to you but for this video i feel like it's way more appropriate to just show you like the final reveal right after i'm done with it so yeah i've had super long 22 inch hair i've had a very blunt lob and for this transformation i wanted something a little piecier i don't really want to say it but almost a moloty where it's like more voluminous here really just like more pc less blunt and thick at the ends that was just more of the vibe i was going for i feel 10 pounds lighter without the long extensions they were so much fun while i had them but i just feel this is more me and this is more livable let me know what you guys think of this look and so if you're interested in seeing how i got this look just keep on watching okay the day has come we are finally taking care of this hair so i have outgrown extensions and i have some roots that really need to be touched up i need to first remove these super overgrown out extensions i need to color my roots touch up my grays in order to add some baby lights and some balayage pieces to my hair so for my extensions i have tape ins so the easiest way to remove them is to go in with a tape remover solution which i just spray at the base kind of massage and let it sit for just a few seconds and then that piece will just come right out and then those two tapes just come apart and then the best way is to just slide it off probably one of the most satisfying parts of doing your hair so again same thing i like to instead of kind of yanking out it or pulling it from the sides i'd like to start from the center of that kind of sandwich and slowly pull it apart and now this isn't hurting this isn't pulling on my natural hair at all and then see on this top side it's completely you know detached from my hair but i make sure that that underneath piece is detached as well and when you have those two ends free then you can just go ahead and pull and as you can see the hair is healthy and there's not been any breakage it is normal to have some hair still in that sandwich tape and basically with that hair is this hair that would have shed on its own but because it is a sandwich between those two tapes obviously has nowhere to go and then i like to just comb through make sure there is no residue and it is crazy to know that these tape ins have been on my hair i want to say almost four months three months but it's incredible how it will actually stay on the hair but then how quick and easy it is to remove and anytime i took out extensions at the salon people would always say like oh that was actually really painless and easy and i was like why was it painful ever basically this step should be done carefully and easily so that of course you protect your hair as much as possible all right so for the base color we're going to be using a mixture of the 6n and 8g mixed with 20 volume the 8 ag will provide the ash tones and the nn will provide the gray coverage i always like to do a mixture of both gives me a good balance of coverage with some cooler ash tones [Music] i'm just gonna separate the top half from the bottom and i'm gonna be starting in the back working and coloring the perimeter first and then going in section by section [Music] [Music] all right coming over to this side and doing the exact same thing i feel like starting on the perimeter just keeps a very clean kind of a work area and then because you go in with horizontal sections it's kind of like a way to cross check your work and really ensure that you get even saturation all right now with that we've done that bottom section we move on to the top okay and now just the easy part do [Music] and when doing a root touch up obviously if you have highlights or balayage done you want to avoid the lightened pieces as obviously your base color would cover them okay when i feel like i've saturated each section evenly around the hairline i like to go in and double check and just pat down kind of any edges especially if you have kind of little baby hairs you kind of just want to pat them down to make sure that they have enough color saturating them kind of have more baby hairs here on this side so i kind of like to come in and just pat those down all right so now we're just going to let this process for about 25 to 30 minutes and then we'll be back here for the foil portion of this project all right so now that my roots are colored we have even root base now to go in with our lightener so i personally have this rule that my hair is longer i always like to have a more contrasty kind of root to my blonde the shorter my hair gets the more light accents i like in my hair so today i'm going to be adding some baby lights to brighten up my roots so for the highlights i'm going to be using a mixture of the schwarzkopf blonde me and i'm going to be mixing that with 40 volume peroxide 40 volume as i've mentioned in the past it is very strong and definitely don't work with 40 volume unless you've done some research or you know what you're doing so i'm going to be applying 40 only to my brown areas so that means i'm not going to overlap anything that's already blonde another thing to keep in mind is a little goes a long way as you can see i already have a blonde balayage so when you already have some highlights or some blonding in your hair just keep in mind a lot a lot goes a little goes a long way so my plan is to add a few baby lights through the top one or two panels kind of in the back here so that when i wear my hair up that looks nice and bright so i'm actually going to start in the underneath pieces so since i am going to just do a whole slice meaning i'm not going to weave out pieces i always think in this area to get good impact it's kind of good to just do a slice and then to do a root tap to soften kind of that root so it doesn't look like just a big block but very important is to have the that hair section be thin enough to where it's almost transparent okay i'm going to do two back to back sections like so [Music] [Music] and now coming around my hairline i like to do diagonal partings this way it's what looks the best when the hair moves and is pulled back so just small slicing there so [Music] is so the next section i'm going into is where i would start if this is your first time kind of touching up your hair and that is just to add some baby lights kind of in through here it's where it's going to give us our maximum lightness so i like working off the part because i like to envision where those pieces are going to fall and then in between that section i'm going to leave out the tiniest amount of hair this gives a little bit of contrast and just going in and weaving in some highlights and basically the same thing we just did on the previous foil and then for the back i always get asked how in the world you get the back so the best way is to pull it up so you have a very clear view of what you're working with grab out your sectioning and then instead of what intuitively you want to do is kind of paint backwards you're actually going to grab the foil and place it on top and bring it forward so you can still see what you're doing but because you are over directing the hair that hair will have a lot of movement um as it lays back where it's meant to lay so it'll look really soft actually you could do one to two of these panels kind of in the back i feel like for me this is enough i do like a more contrasty look as you move towards the back of the head all right and we're all set so now i'm just going to let this process for about 45 at 250 minutes i'm going to shampoo and condition my hair and then we'll be back here for toner and the root tap all right so i've shampooed out my hair i feel like i am looking like a tic toc queen with my bright yellow money piece in front so yeah i'm gonna first go in with my root tap formula and for that formula i'm going to be mixing a mix of 7n and the shades eq processing solution one ounce of each and so starting at the part i'm just going to start dabbing basically as far down as you want to come but i'm just going down about one inch if those lightened areas that you've created are kind of more piecey maybe you don't have to go down as far i just really like that smoked out look and so we're just going to do this through out the hair and then to our slice that we've created in the back here definitely making sure to soften that and do the exact same thing to the sun [Music] since i did that pretty quickly i can just go in and start on my all over toner you guys have heard me talk about the 09p it's one of my favorite shades to tone blondes so i'm going to be mixing one ounce of that with one ounce of the shades eq all right so now i've got my toner formula i typically like to leave the money pieces and that doesn't mean just this one here that means the closest to the face piece is kind of out of the way and i like to tone these last so i'm starting in the back and the goal is just to get it on as quickly but also as effectively as possible meaning even saturation you can do this with gloves but making sure to really massage the product into the hair so now moving our way forward the overstarting at the top and if you still have that root tap it's okay if they touch and now the last step is these ends so i kind of only like to leave the toner on these last ends like two to five minutes as i've mentioned i do like a really bright look there and the ends just tend to be a lot more porous meaning that they will absorb that toner a lot faster all right so now i'm going to process that for about 15 minutes and then i'll meet you back here for the final reveal so your hair care following your color is as important as the correct formulation i love to use the biologe hydrosource line to both add a ton of hydration and keep my hair looking healthy and feeling soft after i color and lighten my hair i
